Hi
I am receiving and Idoc (Debmas06) from R/3 System and need to convert that into a Idoc Text file. Which in turn will again be imported in another R/3 system and an Idoc will be created from the text File.
Constraints
1. Can¡¦t directly post and Idoc to receiver system ¡Vsecurity issues.
2. Also can¡¦t send the Idoc as an XML file using JMS Adapter. As the receiving system runs on 4.5B (And I don¡¦t think that the normal Function Modules-Converting XML to Idoc are present in that version 4.5B).
3. Earlier I thought of using JMS adapter for content conversion, but as it can¡¦t transform the complex structure in Receiver Channel. So I guess I need to use File Adapter.
I guess there are few possible ways of doing it, but not sure, so need clarification.
1. Do the content conversion using File Adapter. But need to be sure whether File adapter can handle Complex structures (Segment and Sub segment with varying data fields) and further can produce Idoc text file, which is the same like SAP Standard Idoc text file so that an Idoc can be created from it.
2. Is it possible to pull the Idoc file by using the File Port, instead of TRFC port. So that I receive the Idoc text file from SAP System and dump it directly in the receiving system.
3. Also further in SXMB_ADM there is specific configuration for IDoc, where we can specify that whether we want to convert Idoc to XML or not. Can we do the same thing for an specific Scenario of Idoc type. As I guess it applies in general to every Idoc being received in XI System.
Kindly clear my confusion, which is the best approach and any better approach. I probably feel better to use File Adapter with content conversion based on my requirements.
Also kindly suggest more easy approaches if any
Regards
SwetankHi ,
I need some help on this scenario...
I have completed the XI part....i need the information of what are the configurations that i need to do in the R/3 and XI system..
what all i have done is :
In R/3 : Created :
RFC destination (pointing XI system)X7ACLNT100
Port X7ACLNT100
Partner profile ( outbound parameter CREMAS)...Here i specified receiver port as the one created in R/3 X7ACLNT100whose RFC destinationX7ACLNT100 is pointing XI
XI :
RFC destination(Pointing R/3) QZACLNT100
and port QZACLNT100=> do i need to create these 2.
When i try to do the testing of IDOC in we19, its creating IDOC but not sending it, not even reaching XI...
Can you help me out..or can you tell me the complete steps of these configurations....
A bit urgent -
IDOC: Missing text in Inbound Del
Hi gurus,
Does anyone know or encountered this scenario:
I created PO, Delivery and Shipment in BoxA. Automatically Delivery doc that has been created will reflect to BoxB via IDOC, as well as the Shipment. Well, it was posted and successful. But the problem is there are missing values in delivery.. Supposedly, there should be header texts defined in the delivery.
I've checked the segments in we02 and the texts are there.. It's my first time to hanle IDOC issues.
Help me...will be rewarded if it works.
Thanks!Hi,
Maybe the header texts are maintained in a different language other than EN.
FOr this, do a select on STXH..
tables: stxh.
select single tdspras from STXH into STXH-tdspras where Tdobject = ws_tdobject
and tdname = ws_tdname
and tdid = ws_tdid.
THen,
call function 'READ_TEXT'
exporting
xxxxx
xxxx
lang = stxh-tdspras
We experienced this problem today and resolved it like this.
Try...

Hi,
In the status table EDIDS some times the status message is storing in the field STATXT and some times it is storing in the variable STAPA1. As of now I am using the variable STATXT for fetching the status text but some cases STATXT is showing description as & & & & and STAPA1 is showing correct status text. How to use these two variables correctly. If possible please send me the code I will give points.

Hi gurus,
Here's the scenario:
I created a sales order (VA01) in Box A and automatically passes via IDOC to Box B. From there, I created Delivery (VL01) and Shipment (VT01). Then the 2 document will be copied back via IDOC. So in Box A, it has already Delivery and Shipment.
The problem is, The delivery item text that I am getting is from the component of a BOM Material. I was thinking if I am getting the IDOCS from a sales order and not from the delivery doc. Since the materials in the delivery doc are not expanded..
How will I get the IDOCS from the delivery instead from sales order.
Point will be given...Thanks guys!Hi,
If you wanted to trigger an IDOC from an delivery document follow the below steps:-
Create a partner profile for that shipto party in WE20 transaction.
While creating the partner profile use the partner function as SH,
Basic Type :- DESADV01
Message Type:- DESADV
Output Type :- LD00
Process Code:- SD08
Application :- V2
USe all the things in your partner profile and trigger the output LD00 in your delivery document and check.
An IDOC will be triggered from the delivery document of your SAP system.
Thanks,

Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
Outbound Process
Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

When i try WE19 t-code for this idoc, i found the error "Port '' does not exist in the table of port descriptions"
while i have already defined port (A000000018)in WE21 t-code and this port also working fine for other messages.
Please suggest.

Problem in message mapping (outbound IDOC ORDERS05 from SAP R/3)
Hi to all,
I have an outbound interface from sap r3
sap r3 --> XI --> ftp server
idoc --> XI --> text file
Using IDOC orders05
The problem is in segment E1EDP01/E1EDP19
Segment E1EDP01 is unbounded and i map it well. If it contains E1EDP19, works fine. But in some cases, E1EDP19 not appears at E1EDP01segments. So then XI fails at mapping:
IDOC OUTPUT (OK)
1-E1EDP01/E1EDP19
2-E1EDP01
3-E1EDP01/E1EDP19
4-E1EDP01
XI WRITES (FAILURE)
1-E1EDP01/E1EDP19
2-E1EDP01/E1EDP19 (INFORMATION FROM LINE 3)
3-E1EDP01 (WRONG)
4-E1EDP01 (WRONG)
You can take a look of Mapping mode here:
<a href="http://img505.imageshack.us/my.php?image=orders05mappingcj8.jpg"></a>
We don't use BPM and wanna use a solution without it.
Pls ask me for more information if necessary.
Thanks a lot for your help; RegardsHi all,
The mapping function includes an exists and a mapwithdefault.
Now the creation of the segment is handled ok, but not as well its fields. Its unable to determine the write of the second E1EDP19 segment and it does:
1- OK
2- OK
3- Writes E1EDP20 but not the 19
4- OK
Thanks for your interesting -
In LSMW, what is diff between LSMW-BAPI and LSMW-IDOC
hello all
In LSMW, what is diff between LSMW-BAPI and LSMW-IDOCHi Swamy,
The differences between IDoc and BAPI are as follows:
IDOC
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system.
Idocs are processed asynchronously and no information whatsoever is returned to the client.
The target system need not be always online. The IDOC would be created and would send the IDOC once the target system is available (tRFC concept). Hence supports guaranteed delivery.
With asynchronous links the sub-process on the client can be finished even if the communication line or the server is not available. In this case the message is stored in the database and the communication can be done later.
The disadvantage of asynchronous links is that the sub-process on the server cannot return information to the calling sub-process on the client. A special way for sending information back to the client is required. In addition, a special error handling mechanism is required to handle errors on the receiving side.
IDOCs may be more changeable from release to release.
IDOCs are poorly documented.
BAPI
BAPIs are a subset of the RFC-enabled function modules, especially designed as Application Programming Interface (API) to the SAP business object, or in other words: are function modules officially released by SAP to be called from external programs.
BAPIs are called synchronously and (usually) return information.
For BAPIs the client code needs to do the appropriate error handling.
Problems with synchronous links occur if the communication line or the server is temporarily not available. If this happens, the sub-process on the client cannot be finished (otherwise there would be data inconsistencies).
Synchronous links have the advantage that the sub-process on the server can return values to the sub-process on the client that has started the link.
BAPIs are not totally immune to upgrades.
BAPIs are reasonably well documented.
Reward points if useful.

Steps in Inbound Processing in ALE IDOC
Hi all,
Could anyone explain the steps to be followed in inbound processing in ALE Idoc.
I know we have to create a FM n then call that in a program. But still the detail steps are not clear.
An example will be really helpful.
ThanxHi
Outbound:
Step 1. Application document is created when transaction is saved.
2. Message control is invoked.
3. Messages are processed by system.
4. Messages are Edited (if desired).
5. Output (ALE / EDI) is checked
6. Validate against Message control record from Partner Profile
7. Application Document is saved.
8. Entry NAST table is created for every selected output program
along with Medium & Timing.
9. Check for Process Immediately .
If (yes)
Determine Processing Program from TNAPR Table.
ELSE
Execute RSNASTED Program.
10. Read Partner Profile to determine Process Code.
11. Process Code points to the Function Module & Invoked.
12. IDoc is generated.
13. Check for ALE Request.
if (Yes)
Perform Filters, Conversions, Version Changes etc.
Else.
IDoc is stored in DATABASE.
INBOUND:
Step 1. EDI Subsystem creates an IDoc file from EDI Messages
2. Subsystem calls Functional Module EDI_DATA_INCOMING from startRFC program.
3. Data in Control Record is validate against the Partner Profile.
4. IDoc is generated in Database and syntax check is carried out.
5. IDoc file is deleted once file read.
6. Event PROCESSSTATE REACHED is triggered in Idoc Object Workflow.
7. Check for Process Immediately.
If NO
Execute RBDAPP01 Program
Else
Read Process Code from Partner Profile
Process Code Points to Function Module
Application Document Posted.

IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type
