Idoc Communication Configurations and Proxy Runtime Configurations for PI

We have a fresh PI 7.1 system, fresh ECC6 system, and an existing 4.6C system.
is there any blog/doc with step-by-step instructioins/screenshots for following tasks:
1. Configuring Abap proxy runtime between ECC6 and PI 7.1 Systems, for using sproxy from ECC6.
2. Configuring for IDOC communication between ECC6 and PI 7.1
3. Configuring for IDOC communication between 4.6C system and PI 7.1
It involves creating of sm59 rfc destination creations, usage of idoc related transactions on PI system and the other system.. I searched on sdn/forum, but it seems to be addressing specific issues faced.
Pls suggest any step-by-step instructions docs/blogs available.
thanks in advance.

  • Runtime Workbench Proxy Runtime Configuration

    Hi
I'm trying to setup the RWB proxy runtime configuration. However our ERP system shows up as an ALE-Logical system and not a Business System in the Configuration tab of the RWB and doesnt appear at all in the Component Monitoring tab so we cant monitor messages from it through the RWB.
We've tried deleting the business and technical system and re-registering them with RZ70 as well doing a CPA Cache refresh. But that hasnt resolved the issue.
I have compared this system to another system in the SLD which does show up as a Business System and can be monitored through Component Monitoring. They seem to be exactly the same.
Is there some kind of setting we are missing on the ERP system?
    Thanks
    Riaz

    Hi Riaz & kesava,
RWB Proxy runtime setup can be seen from RWB->Component Monitoring under Components section Domain XI->Integration Engine.
    Check the following
1)Can the SLD be reached?  - RFC destination, ping, getLCR server, read cache, BS defined
    2) Does the Integration Engine know the business system?   - Business system name = BS_100, Role = Application System
3)Are roles in SXMS_CONF_ITEMS and SLD consistent?   - Role = Application System
4)Has an Integration Server destination been defined?   Destination 'XIabcd100' to the Integration Server
    Cheers
    Veera

  • Proxy runtime configuration in PI 7.1

    Hi Experts,
How to do proxy runtime configuration in PI 7.1?
Please send any documents or link available for the same.
    Regards,
    Nidhi Kukreja

    Proxy Configuration :
Create Logical System for ECC & PI both side.
    On PI Configure :
    1. Create RFC Destination from PI to ABAP (Type : H).
    2. Make an entry in SXMB_ADM for Integration server.
    3. Activate Services in SICF.
    On ECC Configure :
    1. Create RFC Destination from ABAP to PI (Type : H).
    2. Make an entry in SXMB_ADM for Application server.

We have link between ERP quality and XI development. Do i have to do Proxy runtime configuration in quality server directly. Do I need to do it manually or transport from development?
    Regards.

  • Material Type Configuration and Creating Z configured Material Types

    All-
Every solution architect I have contacted has told us that itu2019s standard practice to create copies of standard SAP material types (and all other configuration) and then update configuration to make the object client specific rather than just modifying SAP standard.  You do that because when SAP delivers upgrades they may update standard configuration keys and that can cause disruptions.  We talked to some folks at SAP who told us the same thing.
My Client had previously agreed to this but now some of their IT resources have pushed back with their primary argument being u201Cthis hasnu2019t affected us for the last 15 years so we want to continue with what we haveu201D i.e. modifying configuration and customizing the SAP delivered material types.  Theyu2019ve also found some SAP documentation that says itu2019s fine to do it either way.  I donu2019t have the depth of technical knowledge to get into all of the arguments for / against this.
Request u2013 Can anyone point us to a position paper or document that states why we suggest this (reasons, pros, consu2026) or someone that could provide us with the expertise to clearly state why and what the consequences are if they donu2019t?  Or if this is really just something that is suggest based upon the potential for problems and they can do whatever they want?
Any information would be greatly appreciated

You obviously can modify a lot of standard objects because the config. option is there.
The main reason not to is because they act as models e.g. what is the SAP standard model for configuration of a Traded material (in the given Solution, Country etc.).  If you have copied the std and modified the Z version you can always refer back to the std if you run in to unexpected difficulties. If you've modified the std, you have no model to refer to.  If you modify the std and it then doesn't do what you want or you hit an issue of some form, you pretty much have to figure out why yourself because SAP would probably charge you.
Material Types in particular involve a huge potential number of fields (900+) and complex field selection.
If you do modify a standard, at least document exactly what changes were made so you and subsequent support personnel can understand how the object has been modified. 'Small' modifications of objects you may well have no future issue with, 'big' modifications of big objects could well come back to haunt you.

  • Configure and use push notifications for IOS - Xamarin

Is it possible to configure and use push notifications in SharePoint 2013 apps for iPhone Xamarin.
Recently I started creating a Xamarin application that supports both Android and IPhone application. So my doubt here is, Is it possible to create a solution in SharePoint Server for sending
push notifications and a client side iOS - Xamarin application for receiving the notifications.
If Possible how I can create the same. Please help. If it is not possible anyone please suggest me a workaround to implement the same.

This is not a permanent fix but through this you can easily use the apps
    Go to Settings> General> Accessibility> Guided Access
Now tap the Guided Access and turn it on.
Now go straight to the app which is having this problem. After opening the app press the home button 3 times to activate the Guided Access mode.
After activating and choosing a password you'll see that there is no "connect to iTunes to use push notifications in ios 8.1" pop up any more.
If you want to leave the app press the home button three times again.
    Thanks
    It works 100%

  • OC4J and BC4J Runtime installation for Solaris (Unix)!

We have successfully installed, configured and deployed JSP/BC4J apps using OC4J and BC4J on Windows NT/2000. However, our production environment is Solaris.
We have installed OC4J on Solaris, with some difficulties. How/where is the installation process for the BC4J Runtime Installation? The download (bc4j-ojsp.zip) for this utility is Windows only.
Is there a method or process to install BC4J Runtime on Unix? If not, we are stuck.
We cannot use JServ (servlet limitations) and refuse to use OSE (to many issues).
Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated...

    Stephan,
I have located multiple "connections" files and will remove all but the default located in the OC4J classes directory. We have been developing with JDeveloper and it often created multiple connections files that appear when you "jar" project components.
We also installed JDK1.2.2_008 and are using this. However, when I use the classpath method of starting OC4J, I receive numerous errors. Using the jar method, everything works, with the exception of BC4J apps. I'll have to look into the errors more.
Thanks for the response. At least I know one other person (organization) is using this successfully. I hope to join the "success" crowd tomorrow!
    Thanks again...

  • Windows 8.1 Apps and Proxy Auto Configuration files

We have installed an app on a number of Surface Pro devices for my client.  After installation, the app is unable to connect to the backend service.  The following details the configuration:
The apps are installed on Surface Pro 2 devices running Windows 8.1 Professional with an Enterprise Sideloading License
The devices are connected to the company's corporate domain wifi network.
The service is hosted on the same domain network
The network has a proxy configured via the following PAC file:
           function FindProxyForURL(url, host) {
// URLs within this network are accessed through
          if (shExpMatch(url,"*checklistapp.uhs-pruitt.com/*"))      {return "DIRECT";}
          if (shExpMatch(url,"*asgs01.uhs-pruitt.com/*"))      {return "DIRECT";}
// All other requests go through port 8080 of proxy.example.com.
// should that fail to respond, go directly to the WWW:
          return "PROXY wsas360-01.uhs-pruitt.com:80; DIRECT";
The proxy requires authentication when not using a DIRECT connection
When using this PAC file, the app cannot connect to the service (which is at
https://checklistapp.uhs-pruitt.com/Service ), despite the fact that netsh shows that the app is using a direct (no-proxy) connection.
The app connot connect if last line of the PAC file is changed to
    DIRECT; PROXY wsas360-01.uhs-pruitt.com:80
When hard coding the proxy (The url below is hosted at 10.100.255.250), the app is able to connect

    Hi Ryan,
If you use an Internet proxy server that requires authentication, you may encounter problems when you use apps that connect to the Internet.

  • Disk configuration and workflow help needed for lab video workstation

    Hi All,
Setting up a video editing workstation for a research lab that will use Premeire to edit AVCHD Progressive clips (sometimes with 2 streams side-by-side, but usually single-camera) and export them to .mp4 for later viewing by video coders. We won't be using AfterEffects or adding anything to the videos other than some text (titles, maybe sub-titles).
The other purpose of this workstation is to act as a file server and backup system for other machines in the lab. Coders will be viewing the exported videos via other networked machines and working with Microsoft Office files that will be stored on the workstation's other HDDs. I'll have a physical backup drive and cloud backup via CrashPlan.
I've built a machine that is probably overkill, but the client (my wife) wanted it to be "fast," and the purpose of the machine might change in the future:
    i7-4770K (overclocked a bit)
    16GB RAM
    Asus Z87-Pro
    GeForce GTX 660
I have the OS (W7) and programs on a 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD and currently have two 1TB Velociraptors to use for the Premiere workflow. I'm trying to figure out how to proceed with the purchase of the rest of the drives, and I want to keep the Premiere drives separate from the large storage drives from the lab that are networked and synced to cloud backup.
Following the recommendations for a three-disc configuration I've picked up on these forums, I could set it up like this:
C: (256GB SSD) (OS, programs, pagefile)
    D: (1TB HDD) (media, projects)
E: (1TB HDD) (previews, media cache, exports)
F: (4TB HDD) (backups of media, projects, and exports and storage of other research files)*THIS DRIVE WOULD BE SHARED ON THE NETWORK
G: (4TB external HDD) (backup of F & drive that backs up to CrashPlan)
but it seems that would be a waste of the speed of the second 10k velociraptor. If I added another SSD and RAIDed the Velociraptors it would be:
    C: (256GB SSD) (OS, programs)
D: (Two 1TB Velociraptors in RAID 0) (media, projects)
E: (256GB SSD) (media cache, pagefile)
but would I then need to add another dedicated HDD for previews and exports, or could I store those on the networked F: from above (which would be previews, exports, backups of media and projects, and storage of other research files) without taking a speed hit?
It seems overkill to have a dedicated drive for exports and previews (let's make that the new F:), then have them copy to the first 4TB drive (now G:), then back that up to the second 4TB drive (now H:), then back that up to CrashPlan. However, people might be accessing that network drive at any time, and I don't want that to slow any part of the video process down.
I appreciate any advice ya'll can give me!

    Hi Jim,
Thanks for the encouraging response. I'm leaning toward the non-SSD option at this point.
To make sure I understand, are you suggesting I try using the Velociraptor Raid 0 in the 2 disk configuration suggested by Harm's Guidelines for Disk Usage chart? Like this:
C: (256 GB SSD) (OS, Programs, Pagefile, Media Cache)
D: (1TB x2 in RAID 0) (Media, Projects, Previews, Exports)?
Where I'm still confused there, and in looking at Harm's array suggestions for 5 or more drives, is how performance is affected by having simultaneous read/write operations happening on the same drive, which is what I understood was the reason for spreading out the files on multiple drives. Maybe I don't understand how Premiere's file operations work in practice, or maybe I don't understand RAID 0 well enough.
In the type of editing we'll be doing (minimal) aren't there still times when Premiere will be trying to read and write from the D: drive at the same time, for example during export? Wouldn't the increased speed benefits of RAID 0 for either read or write alone be defeated by asking the array to do both simultaneously?
Maybe the reason the Media Cache is on the SSD in the above configuration is because that is what will be read while writing to something like Exports? But that wouldn't make sense given Harm's chart, which has the Media Cache also located on the array....
Another question is, given that the final home of the exported videos will be on the big internal drive (4TB) anyway, could I set it up like this:
C: (SSD) (OS, Programs, Pagefile, Media Cache)
    D: (2TB RAID 0) (Media, Projects, Previews)
E: (network shared 4TB HDD) (Exports + a bunch of other shared non-video files)
so I don't end up having to copy the exported videos over to the 4TB drive? Do you think it would render significantly faster to the RAID than it would to the 7200 rpm 4TB drive? I'd like to cut out the step of copying exported videos from D: to E: all the time if it wasn't necessary.
    Thanks again.

  • Mail configuration and background job scheduling for ST22 Data

    Experts,
I want to know how can i schedule a background job in SAP to extract data from ST22 and send a automated mail for the same?
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks!!!

You don't need to do that, simply configure CCMS (RZ20) to send you an alert via mail when a dump occurs.

  • Comms Express and proxy auth (ie for a portal or Identity system)

All, we'll be moving to Comms Express in about a month and we currently have an Identity/access management solution working with Mess Express (6.1) and using the proxy auth url (http://webmail.domain.com/?user=user1&proxy-auth=.....) We can pass the proxy auth from the access manager (SiteMinder) to ME and people can login into their Webmail (ME) without incident.
However UWC is a different animal. Does anyone know how to get a proxy auth url string for UWC to accomplish the same thing? I know UWC essentially does a proxy auth for messaging and calenar already, so we have to find something that does it to pass it to messaging and calendar to get the Comms Exprees interface.
We will be using the following version:
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-4.03 (built Sep 22 2005)
    libimta.so 6.2-4.03 (built 04:37:42, Sep 22 2005)
    And UWC is at 118540-23
    Any help would be appreciated.

Before, when we had Messenger Express, we have a web (like a portal) where users used to fill in a form with the user and the passwd to connect to the messenger express.
Now, with the UWC, is not posible to access the same way. I'm a bit lose with this.UWC provides Acess Manager Single-Sign-On (SSO). So if your web-application was to set an access-manager SSO cookie when the user logged in and redirected the user to the UWC login page, they would be automatically logged in (assuming you had configured UWC to allow access manager authentication).
For information on how to set access manager SSO cookies in web-interfaces, please refer to the access manager manuals on docs.sun.com.

  • What's the difference between old workbench 2.x configuration and new IFCR configurations?

I'm an Endeca old-fashioned guy. We moved from workbench 2.1 directly to ToolsAndFrameworks 11, my question is, what's difference between old workbench 2.x and new IFCR conf?
Looks emgr_update update_mgr_settings isn't doing the same thing ifcr importXML does.
I manually added a thesaurus entry, and ran emgr_update to load it to workbench, but it didn't show up in our new workbench. And when I ran emgr_update get_all_settings, I can see the thesaurus entry I created in the output. So... What's difference between these 2?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

emgr_update no longer sets or gets the thesaurus from workbench. In 11 all workbench configurations are saved in IFCR configuration directly.
Hence the thesaurus entry should be added directly in version 11 Workbench as opposed to xml file in older versions.
And if you want to migrate the changes across environments then import_site script in control directory can be used.
