IDOC generated a very long time

Dear all,
what reason will cause that IDOC generated a very long time ?
My own thinking is this due to one instance's update processes are all running, 'update are all running' is due to 'high lock entries in SM12',
but I don't know how to check what caused 'high lock entries in SM12'.
When I confirm with user about the lock entries in SM12 that users reply they are running some reloated article in system but very slow, so I cannot delete the lock entries also cannot cancel the update process.
so who can tell me which reasons will cause large lock entries in SM12 ?
how to resolve it and avoid it happened again ?
how to find the root cause for large lock entries ?
Best Regards,
Michael

Please note: Figure 4 (isosurfaces) can be very slow to load in Adobe Reader for Apple Mac OS X. Sometimes it can take up to 2 minutes ... please be patient!
It is not _so_ slow for me, but still is.
http://asymptote.sourceforge.net/gallery/sphericalharmonic.pdf is also not so fast to load.
Some of my models, where I had to use lots of per-triangle materials to achieve smooth color and transparency demonstrated this problem (but they also did not view exactly _fine_, they made my MacBook noisy due to increase in fan activity ; ).

  • Explain plan generating it self taking very long time !!! What to do ?

    Hi,
I am trying to generate explain plan for a query which is running more than 2 hours. I am trying to generate explain plan for query by "explin plan for select ..." but it self is taking very long time.
Kindly suggest me how to reduce time for explain plan ? Secondly why explain plan itself taking very long time ?
    thanks & regards
    PKP

Just guessing here, but I've experienced this behaviour when I did two explain's within a second. This is because a plan is identified by a statement_id or, if you don't provide a statement_id, by the timestamp (of DATE datatype). So if you execute two explain plans within the second (using a script), it has two sets of data with the same primary key. The hierarchical query that needs to be executed to provide you the nicely indented text, will exponentially expand in this case.
Maybe time to clean up your plan_table ?
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Rob.

This transaction is not a part of standard SD - most likely it's specific to some industry solution or an international add-on.
Post in another forum, search for OSS notes and send a message to SAP, since it's not a Y/Z transaction.

Hi, original poster here. I did not realize this would generate more discussion so I never checked back. I still had my warranty, so I took it to the store and got it repaired. The original problem I had was a screen with this icon flashing when I attempted to boot it up:
When I took it to the store, they told me that my computer was unable to communicate with the hard drive. I had this same problem three times in two months where this screen reappeared. Each time I went back to the store and they said the cause was different, but they were all hardware issues that physically made it impossible to communicate with the hard drive. After the third time, they simply replaced my laptop and I haven't had the same problem.
So in short: The reason you can't reinstall or move anything when you encounter this screen appears to be because nothing can communicate with the hard drive in the first place. You can't reach the disk or anything on it. So I don't believe it's possible to do anything besides take it to a physical store and have it fixed.

  • SM59 - Remote Logon taking very long time - RFC is receiver

    Hi Friends,
We have ABAP connection (SM59) to R/3 system from PI system.  The connection test is fine. But, when we click the Remote Logon from SM59, it is taking very long time. It is unable to login.
Due to this, messages are in scheduled state in the receiver CC monitoring. (SOAP to RFC - Async ). Receiver RFC CC also are green.
We checked with R/3 team, the remote user which is used in SM59 is not locked in R/3 system and password also not changed.
Friends, kindly clarify why it is taking very long time from PI in SM59 when the connection is fine.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi Sabarish,
I checked in SM58. There are no entries.  SM59 is for other interfaces (IDoc).  In the Message Monitoring all messages showing 'To be Delivered' and 'Delivering' from yesterday onwards. In the CC monitoring, it shows 'Message Processing Started' from yesterday onwards. But not completed.
I checked in SM21 take log of type 'RD'.  I doubt is this the correct log for this problem.

  • Query Selection screen prompt taking very long time

    Dear All,
We are facing performance issue for a query, where it takes very long time to show selection screen(Around 3 minutes). this query has exteansive calculation and exit variables. Kindly provide your valuable suggestions to fine tune this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Harpal

    Hi.
One thing that might be useful when you are waiting a long time for the variabel screen to appear, is to re-generate the query in RSRT. That has worked well for me in the past, however, since you mention that you are using a lot of exit variables, the waiting time you experience might be spend on the executing the logic to fill those variables, if they are filled before the user reaches the variable screen.. in this case, you will have to optimize the logic of the exit variables.

  • Notebook Taking a very long time to power off

    Hi All,
My notebook (HP ENVY 17-j005tx Notebook) when shutting down only takes a couple of seconds, however it can take upto 5 minutes to power off...
At first i thought some service or program was taking a long time to shutdown, I installed Windows 8.1 SDK Performance Toolkit to try and identify a culprit; ran the command "xbootmgr -trace shutdown -traceFlags BASE+DIAG+LATENCY -noPrepReboot" and succeffully generated trace file.
I noticed the notbook had rebooted in just a few seconds..
Anyhow I proceeded to analyse the trace file using the wpa.exe program anf could not find any program or service taking much time to shutdown!!!
SO I understand now the Windows OS is shutting down nicely though the Notebook is taking a very long time to power off.
Anyone have any suggestions?  I do have NVIDIA Driver 337.88 installed and did find another thread here where they suspected this driver version has not been tested by HP and after they applied it their notebook shutdown slower than usual - is this somehting maybe to look at...
I'm currently downoading sp63414.exe NVIDIA driver for my notebook - should I uninstall my current driver and apply HP's?

    Thanks visruth,..
What I tried is run "msconfig" and boot into "safe mode", rebooted then shutdown, shutdown was back to normal again.
So then reran "msconfig" disabled all non-Microsoft Services, shutdown and again all powered off as normal (quickly after shutdown).
So rebooted and re-enabled all services again using "msconfig".  THen disabled the following services, choosing these specifically as I'm not so sure why they should be running and some not know what they are used for...
rebooted and then shutdown and all shutdown and power off was normal...
It seems one of these services is causing the power off to take several minutes....
I suspect the bluetooth services, or the GSService, or IconMan_R, or possibly the Netgear Genie...
Funny enough I did uninstall netgear genie a few weeks ago and see for some unknown reason the Service is still there???? Hmm...

  • ODI Planning metadata load takes very long time

    Hi,
I am using ODI for Hyperion Planning metadata load.
We are facing performance issues, as the process is taking a very long time.
The process uses "LKM File to SQL" and "IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning"
The number of rows to process in the file is around 70000. The file is generated from DRM. The ODI integration process takes around 2 hours to process and load the file to Planning. Even if we add 1 new row to the file and everything else remains same in the file, the process takes that long.
So, the whole process takes around 3 hours to load to Planning for all dimensions.
I tried increasing the fetch rows to 200 in source but there is no significant increase in performance. The Heap size is set to maximum of 285 MB in odiparams.bat.
How can the performance be improved?
Can I use different LKM or change any other setting?
    Thanks,
    RS

    Hi John,
In my current implementation, the dimension hierarchies are maintained in DRM.
So, business directly makes changes in DRM and exports the hierarchies in a text file.
I agree that loading 70000 records is odd on regular basis, but it makes it easier for business to retain control of their hierarchies and maintainance is easy in DRM.
On bulk loading to DB table and loading to Planning, I have 2 questions:
    1. Do you think that "LKM SQL to SQL" [Oracle to Planning] will have significant improvement in performance over "LKM File to SQL" [File to Planning], as we are still using "Sunopsis Memory engine" as staging area?
    2. I checked your blog, there you have suggested using "Sunopsis memory engine" for "LKM SQL to SQL".
Is it mandatory to use "Sunopsis emory engine" as staging area, can we use any other user defined staging area [Oracle tables]?
    Cheers,
    RS

Is there another way to adjust tempo of loops the faster way, any other technique?

No clue why the final processes have suddenly started to take so long. Two things I'd try: a) capture from an older tape to see if some problem with the new tape is at fault.  And b) check the health of your RAM and the hard drive.
The red frame sounds a bit like a glitch we used to have in OnLocation (actually in its predecessor HDV Rack) which was caused by a partial GOP. But that was a product of HDV Rack recording from the live video stream. It turned out that HDV cameras intentionally interrupt the data stream for an instant upon starting to record--specifically to avoid recording a partial GOP to tape. So my gut says that the tape has partial GOPs at the points where you stopped/started recording.

  • Macbook Pro, bought 2012, takes a very long time to start up/restart (5 mins). How do I fix this?

My Macbook Pro, bought 2012, takes a very long time to start up/restart (5 mins) every single time I have shut it down.  I try not to shut it down at all now because once or twice, I have got a grey screen, and then nothing. I've held down the power button to shut down again and restart  How do I fix all this?

Start up with your built-in Recovery disk by holding down the Command and R keys when starting. Open Disk Utility from there and use it to REPAIR your disk (you've already verified it and it came up with errors).
With any luck, your problems will be solved. While I was there, I would also repair  permissions.
    Good luck,

  • I have an old ipod that i have not used in a very long time, ive had it on a charger now for over an hour and i still cnnot get my ipod to turn on, how can i fix my problem, i just downloaded the new version of itunes aswell, so i know its not my itunes.

i have an old ipod touch that i have not used in a very long time, and im having trouble gettign it to turn on. ive had it on a charger for over an hour now and still nothing hs changed. i just updated my itunes to the current version they haev so i know its not an itunes problem its rather a problem with the old ipod touch itself. im leaving for deployment soon and im trying to get this fixed without having to send it in. If anyone has any ideas on how to get this thing turned on it would be greatly appreciated.

    Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:
Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.
To contact product and tech support: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers.
    iPod Service Support and Costs
    iPhone Service Support and Costs
    iPad Service Support and Costs
There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these.
The flat fee for a battery exchange is, I believe, $99.00 USD.

    Hi,
You can export the client, as well but it will take long time too, depended to your client size. Please note that client copy operation should be performed by standard SAP client management tools, such as client export/import or remote copy.
Ask this question to SAP support first. Technically, you can choose many ways to copy a SAP client, but as far as I know that SAP will not support you (such as errors you faced during the client export/import or the problems related by the copy operation), if you use any other 3rd party tool while for the client copy purposes.

    OK. If you believe that.
When the disk is starting to die it can be bad for a moment and then be good for a while. If there was no problem while you were checking it of course it shows up good.
I tell you those are the signs of a disk that is about to die.
