IDOC in LSMW

Hey all,
I'm working on lSMW using IDOC processing and BAPI.
Iam encountering problems in the partner function.Can anybody guide as to how to go about the entire process of LSMW.If anyone have a suitable document or article for the same kindly post it with your reply.I will get back if I have any new updates and post the exact errors

Inbound Idoc With LSMW

Hi All
We are creating transactions for legacy data migration with LSMW using inbound Idoc. We are able to do the same successfully. As per requirement for each transaction some word and Pdf files have to be attached. Is there any way to attach documents with Idoc through LSMW?

Hi Avineesh,
What you can do is use two LSMW.
First one to upload transaction data and get the transaction number of all the uploaded transactions using IDOC.
Secondly use LSMW with BDC to attach the files to that specific transaction.
Or
In option to above approach you can use LSMW with BDC to upload all the transaction along with attachment.

Creating Inbound IDoc Using LSMW

How to create the inbound IDoc using LSMWu2026
For example
Input is Flat filesu2026.
I created custom IDoc with header and items
Structure looks
Header 1
Item 1
Item 2
Header 2
Item 3
Item 4

Item 4
Item 5

Do I need to create different flat files (item level & Header level) as input while creating IDoc using LSMW ??

Inbound IDoc using LSMW

Hi..
I am trying To Upload customer master data using LSMW with IDOc.
I am debugging the Inbound IDoc Using BD87 and INPUT_METHOD = 'A'
One segment E1KNB1M data is not passed to transaction 'XD01' due that my company code data is not updated
Pls tell me how to pass segment E1KNB1M data to transaction.
I am using Message type : /SAPSLL/DEBMAS_SLL
           Idoc type    : Debmas03
        Function Module : IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR

     Thanks for the document. But the document mainly concentrates on LSMW(I'm aware of generic LSMW with BDC), it doesn't explain the inbound IDoc, segment merging, Creation of partner function or Message and Basic types WRT inbound IDoc. Please send any document with that relevance.

Multiple Rows into single IDoc in LSMW

Hi.
I am using on_change_transfer_record for header record. have succesfully done this for header and item segment level records.
but not able to done the same at IDoc control record level.
My problem is, Multiple IDocs are created for single record. There is no processing points available for IDoc control record to use on_change_trasfer_record.
I want single IDoc for single record from multiple rows.
Please help me out in this regard.

For u need to change the file format into the below structure.
H,<filed1>,<filed2>,.........................
I,<filed1>,<filed2>,.............................
I,<filed1>,<filed2>,...........................
I,<filed1>,<filed2>,.............................
H,<filed1>,<filed2>,.............................
I,<filed1>,<filed2>,................................
sepcify an indicator "H" for header record, and "I" for item record.
once u prepare the file as above.
now in ur LSMW Source structure, declare a filed called "Identifier" both for header structure and Item structure as the first field.
Specify the "Identifying field content" as "H" for header record and "I" for item record.
Continue the remaining mapping as usual.

Update the "remark" field in general data of a BP (using IDOC in LSMW)

Hi,
I have to create and udpate BP with comments in the general data. I have no problem to manage this field in creation mode. I only use the segment "E101BAPIAD_REM" from the "CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M02" Idoc basic type. I fill the following fields: "LANGU, LANGU_ISO, ADR_NOTES".
However in update mode I don't success to update the value for the field "REMARK". I use the second segment "E101BAPIAD_REX" and i fill only field "ADR_NOTES" with value "X" and "UPDATEFLAG" with value "U".
I tried several value and several cases but i failed each time. If anybody has already managed this data with IDOC I would be very interesting...

thank you for your answer but you speak about the field "AddressGUID" of E101BUS_EI_ADDRESSREMARK but I haven't this field at this level. This field is linked to the segment "E101BUS_EI_BUPA_ADDRESS_KEY", isnt'it ?
Effectively i have certainly a problem with the Address GUID. I have to test it because it doesn't work with only UPDATEFLAG at 'X' and CURRENT_TASK too.

How to develop an idoc related lsmw

1. TCode: LSMW.
2. Enter Project name, sub project name and object name.
    Execute.
3. Maintain object attributes.
    Execute
    select Batch Input recording
    go to->recording overview
    create
    recording name.
    Enter transaction code.
    Start recording
    do recording as per ur choice.
    Save + back.
    Enter recording name in lsmw screen.
    Save + back
Now there will be 14 steps.
2. MAINTAIN SOURCE STRUCTURES.
    Here you have to enter the name of internal table.
    Display change
    create
    save + back
3. MAINTAIN SOURCE FIELDS.
    Display change
    select structure
    source_fields->copy fields.
    A dialogue window will come.
    Select -> from data file
    apply source fields
    enter No. of fields
    length of fields
    attach file
    save + back
4. MAINTAIN STRUCTURE RELATIONS
    display change
    save + back
5. MAINTAN FIELD MAPPING & CONVERSION RULE
    display change
    click on source field, select exact field from structure and enter
    repeat these steps for all fields.
    Save+back
6. MAINTAIN FIXED VALUES, TRANSACTION, USER DEFINED
    execute
    save + back
7. SPECIFY FILES.
    Display change
    click on legacy data
    attach flat file
    give description
    select tabulator
    enter
    save + back
8. ASSIGN FILE
    execute
    display change
    save + back
9. IMPORT DATA.
    Execute
    display change
    save + back
10. DISPLAY IMPORTED DATA
      enter ok, it will show records only.
      Back
11. CONVERT DATA

HI Experts,
I have a Excel with material data as below
Material_Number Material_Group_Num   amount

I have to update in the SAP Tables, for a particular material_Number the material_group_num has to be updated

The below is my actual requirement
From the business Users i will get a XL Sheet with all the data, the xl sheet contains
Material_Number Material_Group_Num   amount

Based on the master Number i have to update only the master group fields in SAP tables
I need a data service job to do this, i know what option need to be given in idocs to update a particular field, i need the whole flow of the job

IN WHAT SCENARIOS CAN WE USE BATCH INPUT/DIRECT INPUT/BAPI/IDOCS WITH LSMW.WHICH IS THE BEST ONE.PLEASE TELL ME THE SCENARIOS OF USAGE.

It really depends on what you are doing. There are a lot of "standard" LSMW objects for different business objects, for example, there is a std object for Creating Material Masters, in this case, it is a direct input program. So, the best choice here would be to use the standard program which has been provided, it just so happens that it is a direct input program. Creating Bill of Materials is another one, but this one is a batch input program, so you have no choice but to go with that. Of course if there is a BAPI for your business object that would be the next best thing, if a standard object does not exists.

In lsmw there is one method called ale/idoc method .Please explain me what is the use of that ?
is it possible to send idocs from one system to other system using that lsmw ? or only it is used to read data in text file on
presentation server and upload to the sap ?
