Idoc material needed

Hi
this is the first project iam going to work in idocs
can anybody please send me the materials
step by step process.
my requirement is we are going to use outbound idoc for material master
(matmas05) and order 03.this are the tow main idocs we are going to use
how to transfer this to middle ware.

Hi Arun,
Check this info.
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
    Try this..Hope this will help.
    Steps to configuration(Basis) >>
    1. Create Logical System (LS) for each applicable ALE-enabled client
    2. Link client to Logical System on the respective servers
    3. Create background user, to be used by ALE(with authorizaton for ALE postings)
    4. Create RFC Destinations(SM59)
    5. Ports in Idoc processing(WE21)
    6. Generate partner profiles for sending system
    The functional configuration(Tcode: SALE)
    • Create a Customer Distribution Model (CDM);
    • Add appropriate message types and filters to the CDM;
    • Generate outbound partner profiles;
    • Distribute the CDM to the receiving systems; and
    • Generate inbound partner profiles on each of the clients.
Steps to customize a new IDoc >>>
    1. Define IDoc Segment (WE31)
    2. Convert Segments into an IDoc type (WE30)
    3. Create a Message Type (WE81)
    4. Create valid Combination of Message & IDoc type(WE82)
    5. Define Processing Code(WE41 for OUT / WE42 for IN)
    6. Define Partner Profile(WE20)
    Important Transaction Codes:
SALE - IMG ALE Configuration root
WE20 - Manually maintain partner profiles
BD64 - Maintain customer distribution model
BD71 - Distribute customer distribution model
    SM59 - Create RFC Destinations

    EDI
    Electronic Data Interchange
Cross-company exchange of electronic data (for example business documents) between domestic and international business partners who use a variety of hardware, software, and communication services. The data involved is formatted according to predefined standards. In addition to this, SAP ALE technology is available for data exchange within a company.

    EDI FLOW :
Here is some thing which helps you and here the purchase order is taken as example too..
Electronic Data Interchange, or EDI, is the electronic exchange of business data. Using a standard format, EDI provides a method of transmitting business data from one computer to another, without the need to re-key data. This electronic link can result in more effective business transactions. With EDI, paper documents such as invoices can be replaced with electronic transmissions, thus time is saved, and the potential for error is minimized. Data can be exchanged at any time. Related business expenses, such as postage, printing, phone calls, and handling, can also be significantly reduced. EDI can aid in the support of manufacturing efforts, such as Just-in-Time and Third Party Warehousing, and financial efforts, such as Electronic Payments.
What parts of the business cycle can be supported by EDI?
Any business documents that are currently exchanged using paper can be converted to an EDI. Standards. Standards include ANSI X12 and XML/EDI are primarily used in the United States, while EDIFACT is used in Europe and Asia.
    How does EDI get started?
EDI gets started when one company contacts another expressing interest in trading business documents electronically using Electronic Data Interchange. The two companies must first determine each other's EDI capabilities. If you do not already know your EDI capabilities, we have prepared a questionnaire to help you determine them. If you are already EDI capable, we will coordinate with your technical staff to determine a testing plan. Upon completion of testing the EDI documents, the appropriate business personnel will set a production start date to begin the exchange of EDI business data. If you are not EDI capable, we recommend you first obtain a commitment from your upper management. Your company will need to allocate resources and capital for software, hardware, testing, possible programming, and training.
What is the flow of EDI?
The flow of EDI depends on the sophistication of your systems and your EDI software. If you have internal purchasing/order entry systems, you will need interface programs that can extract and insert data out of and into these systems. EDI programs that interface with your internal systems are preferred over software that requires re-keying of data. Embassy Software specializes in seemless interface between EDI and your back office systems. Using a purchase order as an example of a business document your customer would send that PO electronically (850) to you. It could be sent either through a VAN (Value Added Network) or through an FTP server. You would take that 850 and convert it either into and ODBC database, a flat file or XML document to be imported into your Order System with the use of EDI Software such as PassportXchange.. Using EDI communication software, which is part of the PassportXchange package you would pull down data at set intervals from the VAN or FTP. These documents are then processed through EDI translation software and output to our order entry system. Finally, an EDI document called a functional acknowledgment (997) is sent to your customer.

I want to extend the plant view (Plant Stock). What change do I do to original LSMW to extend plant?
How do I specify that I am extending?
Is it that function code at the beginning of IDOC?

You can do this by writing a program:

  • Reg: material needs the batch management

    Hi All,
The material needs the batch management. We have created without the batch
first and the few movements were done, then tried to put the flag after the
stock remove and sales order deletion, however could not process. System
messaged as below in italic. Please let me know how we could change the MM
date for the batch. The sales order alive now.
    The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
SD documents exist (orders or deliveries) that have not yet been
processed or that have been processed only in part.
    Thanks & Regards
    Siva

    Hi,
This was asked in LE forum also, please read this thread:
reg. activating batch management for existing materials
You should fully process the sales documents (sales order - delivery - invoice) or you should delete them and after setting batch requirement for your material master you could recreate the them (SO, delivery).

    Csaba

    Hi,
In Tx. WE42, Select the process code for the corresponding partner and bind your workflow / task inplace of the function module with the process code. Now, this will enable the idoc to get placed in the agents(identified by that workflow)inbox.
But to design the workflow, you`ll have to use tx. swdd and prior to that get some basic understanding of Business Workflow from SAP Library.
Hope the info. is helpful and reward points if so.

  • IDoc Errors - Need solution

    Hi,
We have been receiving several POs from other SAP systems which will be created as SO in our sytem.
The following error occurs for the IDocs and the IDoc could not be processed automatically. This needs to be processed in foreground.
"The material number for the item 0100 could not be identified".
Msg Id VG, Message Code 203, Message Type E
The reason for this fallout is if the Purchase info record is not maintained for the Material in the counter part, the segment E1EDP01 - E1EDP19 002 Field - IDTNR of IDoc Message Type (ORDERS) data will be missing.
Can anyone suggest the solution for this, since this is SAP standard error. Can this be fixed in our system or is it required to be fixed in counterpart?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    AK

    Hi Karun & Venu,
    Thanks for the useful info.
    I have some more queries.
    More details:
I checked the configuration and the process code DELO (Delviery Order) is used for processing Inbound IDocs.
If the segment E1EDP19 - Qual 002 does not exist this error occurs. If the counter part maintains the Purchase Info record in the IDoc. Now we request our counter part to create Purchase Info record for the material and create new order. (Other we need to manually process every IDoc).
Other solution is which is given by you. I tried maintaining the Customer Info record for the material and the IDoc is automatically processed in the system.
    My question is:
    1) How is the Purchase Info Record in Source system and Customer Info record in our system are related. Idoc got processed automatically if we follow any one of the possibilities?
    2) What is the exact difference between Inbound process codes DELO and ORDE?
    Rgds,
    AK

  • ALE: IDOC material master data

I created a reduced material idoc type with only segment:
E1MARAM, E1MAKTM, E1MARCM and E1MBEWM and I select a handfull of fields in each segment.
I only want views BASIC 1 & 2, Classification , Plant Stock and Label.
I get additional views that I don't need, how do I configure to get only views I want based on data in IDoc

    Shyla,
I did that. And the IDOCs are being sent successfully.
The problem is that when I look at the generated material, all the views are created when I only specified data for basic views in IDOC.

  • Hi, IDOC Material Master upload

    Hi
I am working on LSMW IDOC Method for MAterial Master
when i process the idocs.. the idocs are generated and are not getting processed showing 51 - Idocs are not processesd as the idoc packets has errors..
i am not able to debug it.. can anyone help me how to find the error and locate the particular segment..
if any one had faced such error previously can you help me out in solving this..
    Thanks in advance
    Guhapriyan

    Hi Guhapriyan,
I think you might be in the wrong forum, but since I am reading here goes. One or more of the idocs in the packet fails, so all will fail. You can eliminate this by setting the packet size to 1 when processing the idocs in LSMW. Alternately, use BD87 to view the idocs and reprocessthe failed ones. They will process individually so you can locate the error messages. MATMAS idocs will generate an success/failure log which you can drill to directly from the idoc in BD87 by double clicking the idoc status record or via trans SLG1. You can also capture the idoc number and process/debug from WE19 but should not need to unless you have implemented CMODs or BADIs on the MATMAS idoc.
Hope that is of some help,
    -Lew

  • FILE  to  IDOC  SCENARIO   NEED  MANDATORY FIELDS IN  MATMAS IDOC

    Hi
I'm  learning a scenario like File to Idoc  which is i need some what are the mandatory fields for  creting the message mapping.. between source file and MATMAS IDOC...  because it was showing several fields.
is there any way to find out the  fields we need to map compulsory...  for sending IDOC successfully.
    Thanks
    Babu

    Hi Babu !
Log into the R/3 system, transaction WE60, enter the idoc type MATMAS01 or 02, 03, 04, then press F8 or go to Documentation menu, HTML Format.
It will display a document, telling you which fields are optional and which mandatory.
    Regards,
    Matias

  • Idoc data - Need to see the full SDATA field value

My SAP system is 4.6C. I need to see and extract the field data of the SDATA field in the EDID4 table. The field size in se11 is showing as of 1000 characters, but the field data when displaying is getting truncated. The message that comes below is Field SDATA is too wide to display (field will be truncated) --> Message no. MO 441 --> The field SDATA is more than 200 characters long. --> the system response comes as The field is output in a format restricted to 200 characters. So, it seems that the data after 200th character is getting truncated.
How can i increase the display field of the SDATA field???

It is not possible to view the IDoc data directly in the database. You need to use either WE05 transaction for an existing IDoc or WE60 to view the documentation and layout for each type.
In a nutshell, there are different segments, each with their own layout, but it's not efficient to create database tables with separate fields for each segment. So all the data is stored in "raw" format and then, knowing the segment code, it may be correctly parsed into a readable format.
