Can we do IDOC packaging on Outboud side of IDOC Adapter ?

no, IDOC packaging is not possible on the outbound side
you can use collect patter to collect idocs and send them
in one call like I desribed in one weblog:

but this is not IDOC packaging (event driven)

IDoc error on outbound side

Hi.
I'm setting up a communication with (JMS adapter -> XI -> IDoc adapter).
No w to the problem. When we send the message with the IDoc adapter we get the following error.
Message has error status on outbd. side
We can see this message when I put my cursor over the red flag in the outbound status column in SXMB_MONI.
I do not think there's anything wrong with the adapter because we are using it to send an other IDoc and that IDoc gets processed correctly to the target system.
What can cause the error on the that I get above?

go to details of that transaction and check the error that caused idoc in outbound status failure...
an error tab can be seen in the outbound binding pipeline entry of that transaction and check the error caiused that

Message has error status at outbound side File To Idoc Scenario

hi ,
In my File to Idoc scenario , when i go to sxmb_moni , i found that its showing red flag at Outbound Status Tab and showing message "Message has error status at outbound side".
When i go to IDX5 and and select my idoc and click on Transaction Id it shows "Password logon no longer possible - too many faile" .
Please suggest what may be the problem ?

1. First check the RFC destination name used in receiver Idoc adapter communication channel.
2. As i said earlier, in sm59 transaction in XI gui, u can check same rfc destination under type 3. There check the logon credentials and the username.
3. Now goto the R3 system GUI and check in su01 that same user is locked or not. If locked unlock it.
4. And if u change the password of that user, then do the similar change in XI -> sm59 -> rfc destination logon credential

IDoc on outbound side from XI - time limit exceeded error

I have a FIle to IDoc scenario and I'm creating there a lot of idocs (20000) in a single push. I'm getting an error "time limit exceeded" on outbound side with red flag in SXMB_MONI. How to increase this limit parameter? Where to do it? - PI? or R/3?

IDOC status "Message scheduled on outbound side"

Hi,
I am working on scenario file->XI->SAP R/3(Using IDOC). I am getting outbound status of IDOC as "Message Scheduled on Outbound side". When I go and see SM58 for user WF-BATCH there exists a entry with status Transcation Recorded". In SM58 if I manually click Execute LUW then only I am getting an IDOC posted in my R/3 box, but this should happen automatically.
Can any one tell me what should I do so that it gets executed automatically?

Most of the time it is because of the Queues and Logical system. I,e If there is no proper logical systems are created/maintained then it will give problem.
And it also depends on the rfc Dialog users.

Can we configure the packet size for idocs on the onutbound side of the Adapter ?

Hi Manish,
It is posible if all 1000 idocs are of same Idoc type.
Jus go and change the occurene of Idoc in the XSD as 1..Unbounded. SO that your the message can hold multiple Idocs.
But let me clarify here, if you send 1000 idocs from R3 , it will come to XI as one-by-one. There is no mechanism to get 1000 idocs at a time. So you need to collec all the idocs and then send it.

IDOCs Packaging ... What if one IDOC is in error in the packet ?

Hi all,
What will happend to the rest of the IDOC in the packet ?
Lets say, i packaged my IDOC in a bunch of 5. The first 3 IDOCs, their payload are ok. However the 4th has a bad payload and it crash in the mapping section ...
Does the first 3 IDOC (and the 5th one) will be sent and the one in error (4th one) will remain (in XI for mapping error) ?

Thank for your response. I have seen these blogs. I am not using the BPM.
I am using the IDXPW + Messages filter (sxmsfilter) to packaged the IDOCs.
I have made some tests ... wird enough ...
test #1:
idoc (1) - error
idoc (2) - valid
idoc (3) - valid
.... etc ...
test #2:
idoc (1) - valid
idoc (2) - error
idoc (3) - valid
test #3:
idoc (1) valid
idoc (2) valid
idoc (3) - valid
idoc (4) - error
In the "test #1", idoc (2) & idoc (3) are processed correctly (idoc sent to the SAP ECC backend system). Idoc (1) is stuck in XI with errror (mapping) which is OK.
In the "test #2", work the same as in test #1, idoc(1) & idoc(3) hs been delivered to the SAP ECC backend system.
However, in the "test #3"all idoc (1, 2, 3,4) are stuck in XI ... idoc(4) in error (which is ok), idoc(1) up to - idoc(3) in sxmb_moni has the racing flag .... but not delivered to the SAP ECC backend system ... they have the status: Message Schedule for outbound side ....
It seem that each time the package end with and idoc in error, the entire batch get stuck in XI .
How can i get sent them (test case #3) !!?!?

IDOC packaging in 7.1 - structure problems

I am using the new PI 7.1 IDOC packaging functionality. On backend side everything looks fine and the IDOCs are received by
PI in single package. However, if I use as an Outbound interface the IDOC definition, in Message Mapping the occurences of <IDOC> will be 1..1, however in the packaged message there are many <IDOC>s - 1..n.
How can I overgo the fact that if I use the IDOC basis objects interface in order that receiver & interface determinations to be
found and used, and still the message structure to reflect the fact that I am using packaging..? Thanks

It does not matter. You can use the standard idoc (with 1..1) occurance in both your message mapping as well as interface.
The reason is the occurance of the source message is not validated by Message Mapping.

BPM - Message has error on the outbound side

I get this error 'Message has error on the outbound side" . I am using IDOC - BPM - JDBC. I checked SXI_CACHE and I see ret code 99 for this Integration Process. I tried to activate it. I see an error saying that ZCUST_NUMBER is not a component object of PAYLOAD. I have this context object defined on the Abstract Message Interface built to store the IDOC.
Any ideas are helpful

The program outputs a returncode = 99 during the cache refresh of an integration process (ccBPM), with an error message that says that 'xxxx' is not a component of the 'PAYLOAD' data object.

BPM Scenario: Message has error status on outbound side

Hi All,
        I am doing one BPM scenario. In my scenario i am collecting 12 different type of idocs in BPM and bundling these idocs and sending these to the 12 different files.
        If i send 12 idocs from the R/3 then my scenario is working perfectly fine. If i send less than the 12 idocs that time i am getting the error message as "Message has error status on outbound side" with red flag.
           Can you please explain what minght be the problem. I have already checked in SM58,SMQ1 and SMQ2.

2. Block ( Deadline and Control step for cancell the process)
   3. Fork(Necessary branches 12)
      4. Loop(12 loops)
          Under loop
          a. Receive Step
          b. Container Operation( For count)
          c. Container Operation(For append)
5. Fork( Necessary branches 12)
    6. Transformation
    7. Send
8 Stop
This is my scenario. In the first Fork step i am checking end condition as total number of idocs is reached then i am sending all the data to the target system. If the idocs are not reaching with in 1 hour then i am cancelling the process.
        Now can you please tell me what is the problem.

In SXMB_MONI with(Green Flag) "Message Scheduled Outbound Side" (using BPM)

Hi All,
I had a Scenario where I am using BPM (to collect the Idocs received from Sender SAP R/3 system) and create a File as target structure. But one of the entry i found as (Green Flag) with status "Message Schedule Outbound Side". But the remaining messages are processed successfuly through the same BPM.
I even found that the when i double click on the PE of the "Green flag entry". its leading to "qRFC Monitor(Inbound Queue) with empty entries" instead it should lead me to the workflows Log screen. Since other successfully messages are leading to workflow log when i double click on the PE.
Please let me know your comments on this.

I am getting gray flag in the column (Status - XML Message Status) and green flag in Colum (C- Outbound Status). So this Greem flag itself is creating the problem, because of this itself my messages is not getting processed and not delivered to target system.
I have even checked SXI_CACHE, when i click on the Integration Process-- Right click on my BPM and select the "Activation Log" .. here a message which i had

IDOC packaging/No packaging - need either/or depending on receiver

Hello IDOC adapter gurus,
We have an existing scenario with IDOC packaging, in which the message goes to multiple receivers . The client wants to OMIT idoc packaging for a single one of the receivers. Since the packaging is done in the sender adapter, how can I accomplish this in XI? A separate Partner Profile is already set up for this receiver in the sending system, so that side is not a problem.
One idea I'm exploring would be to create a new sender comm channel without packaging and a new Sender Agreement with Virtual Receiver and select the receiver in question, however I can't find enough documentation on the VR feature. Would that work? Any other ideas?

if it is configured to be not do the collect at the partner profile end, you dont have to worry.
the IDoc adapter will not do any collect even if the package size is set.
