Idoc Schedule in SAP

I want to schedule the MATMAS Idoc in SAP once in a day and send the changed attributes like Item cost to the external system so please let me know how to handle this scenario.

Triggering OB via Change Pointers:
 When an application make a changes in any object an entry is made in CDHDR and CDPOS tables. When any change is made the SMD(Shared Master Data) Tool checks that ALE setting and create a change pointer in the BDCP table that will point to CDHDR table. A standard program RBDMIDOC is scheduled to run on a periodic basis to evaluate the change pointers for a message type and start the ALE process to distribute to the appropriate destinations. The program will read the table TBDME to determine the IDoc selection program it is MASTERIDOC_CREATE_SMD_MATMAS in the case of MATMAS.
Outbound Process:
When the stand-alone program or the Transaction(BD10) is run, it calls the Idoc
Selection program MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_MATCOR in the case of MATMAS, which is hard coded in the program. The Idoc Selection program reads the master data and create a master Idoc and stores it in the memory. The function module then calls ALE layer by using another function module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE which is invoked inside it. Then Idoc filtering, Segment filtering etc.. are done in the ALE layer.
 To dispatch the Idoc to the destination system, the system reads the partner profile to determine the destination system. Then the sending system calls the function module INBOUND_IDOC_PROCESS asynchronously on the remote system and passes the Idoc via memory buffer.
Asynchronous Communication:
The data that is IDocs and the function module are stored in ARFCDATA and ARFCSSTATE tables. The function module ARFC_DEST_SHIP will transports data to target System and the program ARFC_EXCUTE will execute the stored function Module. If communication problem occurs RSARFCSE program is automatically scheduled., if successful, entries in the tables ARFCSSTATE and ARFCDATA will be deleted.
Inbound Process:
The INBOUND_IDOC_PROCESS program is triggered as a result of RFC from the Sending System, the Idoc to be sent is passed as parameter for the function module
In the partner profile if Process immediately is selected then RBDAPP01 program is executed. It will read the process code(MATM) from the Partner profile, which in turn invoke the function module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS for MATMAS
 Function module will call the corresponding SAP transaction using call transaction or uses direct programs to convert the Idoc to Application document .
In the table TBD51 there will be entries to find which option is used.

Partner type:
 The type of your business partner .

PartnerProfile Tips:
 RSECHK07- Consistency check for Partner Profile.
 If you want to modify partner profile; copy it and then modify. If you cant modify it , u have to delete it.
 To move partner profile to production system choose Partner -> Transport
Port defintion:
 It defines the medium through which data is exchanged between systems.
 tRFC - Used by ALE
 FILe - Used by EDI
 R/2 system system port For R/2 system
 Internet port - to connect with internet applications
 It also depends on the receiving side. If the receiving subsystem accepts tRFC, EDI also can use tRFC.
Remote Function modules required by Subsystem to send status and inbound idoc to SAP:
Startrfc - Program to execute RFC enabled Fun.mod. in SAP
EDI_DATA_INCOMING - To send data as inbound
EDI_STATUS_INCOMING - To send status to SAP

 Output controller
 A service program for determining the output type

Procedure:
 A procedure defines a set of possible outputs for an application
 There may be more than one procedure but only one can be active
 Requirement field in procedure specifies the condition which the sales docu. should reach,for sending the sales order response.
Output type:
Defines the characteristics and attributes of the output.
Access Sequence :
Defines a sequence in which the business rules are checked using condition record of the condition table for proposing output type.

Upgradation problem
When the old version program is upgraded in to newer version(4.0b  4.6c) the SE38 editor wont allow u get thru the programs normally to get rid of this.

When transporting the dialog program sometimes the links may be missing in the testing and production area. Inbound IDOC processing in SAP

Hi ,
I am getting around 335,000 IDOCs inbound to SAP from SAP PI . I have scheduled almost 4 jobs with this program RBDAPP01 with packet size of 1000 but still takes around 5-6 hours to just post 40,000 IDOCs. These are GL , AP and AR posting using FIDCC1 idoc.
How can we increase the posting time? Do we need to schedule more jobs or add more hardware resources like memory and RAM?

Hi,
If you can filter the Data that you are trying to process based on Interface or IDoc type etc....that will help in reducing the overload on the system
Try running batch process that are not business critical after business hours

But the Idoc received in SAP R/3 as viewed in Transaction WE02 or table EDID4 has only one node E1BPACHE09
and because rest of the nodes are missing SAP R/3 fails to process the Idoc .
Any help to analyse the issue will be highly appreciated.

Hi Lovein,
What you can do is:
1. Go to SXMB_MONI and take the output xml.
2. Now go to your mapping under TEST tab and test the above mentioned output xml and see what is the output, i mean are you able to see all the desired output as per you mapping or not.
3. If not then probabily you will get an error message, then try to find out the solution in your mapping only.
4. If you are not able to do that, kindly send the error message, which you got in mapping.

can any one tell me how can relate an idoc generated in SAP with the new idoc generated in a legacy system. I mean how could I identify, which idoc is generated for a particular idoc in legacy system and vice versa.

IDOC settings from sap r/3 to sap pi7.3

Hi Guru,
actual problem when i am triggering the idoc from ERP,it is trigeering to the abap stack in sap pi.but i am using idoc_aae adapter at sender side,the message is flowing from sap ERP to file but the message is seen in sxmb_moni,but actually it is not seen in moni .
Please if any one have the idoc setting from sap erp to sap pi7.3. and iam using ICO configuration.

Also in your software component version please check whether import of IDocs and RFCs are allowed
from your respective ECC system, and check the ECC system parameters are correctlt maintained or not.

Idoc lost from SAP R/3 to XI

Hi experts,
I have the following problem:
sometimes an idoc fired from SAP (not through WE19) does not reach XI (I cannot see it in SXI_MONITOR). I've checked the following facts:
1. SAP R/3 status of the idoc is 03 (direction outbound).
2. SM58 produces no result.
3. IDX5 produces no result for that idoc.
4. 99,9% idocs of the same type fired in the same day work fine.
Resending manually the same Idoc using WE19 gives no problem and the idoc reaches XI.
any idea?

You must see this in WE05 or BD87. Just release the idoc and have a look at we05 or bd87 and limit down the time where to search. in sm58 you can only see the idoc ith the system can not log on to the remote system. Did you check sm58 in the target system? did you check bd87 in the target system?

Hi Pawan,
Non SAP system should have RFC adapter in order to receive and send Idocs from/to SAP.
If this is not your case, you should us a Integrator Middelware with RFC and standard adapters like SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
If for example, your non SAP system is able to process data from flat files you can build next interface: SAP send Idocs to middleware that receive them using RFC adapter, middelware maps Idocs into flat file and send it to a one of non SAP system folder using FTP adapter. Non sap system triggers the flat file into its applications.

Follow this simple procedure
1) Send an outbound IDOC data(MATMAS) to a flat file on client1(SENDER).
Create File Port (WE21) for outbound file.
Maintain Distribution Model (BD64) for sender ->receiver system.
Create Partner Profile (WE20) for logical system.
You can use this program RBDSEMAT (t/code BD10) to generate IDoc MATMAS file(s).
_ Then you can FTP the file(s) to receiver system.
2) Upload the flat file as an IDOC on the inbound sytem
which is Client2(RECIEVER).
Create File Port (WE21) for inbound file.
Maintain Distribution Model (BD64) for receiver -> sender system.
Create Partner Profile (WE20) for logical system.
You can use this program RSEINB00 to upload IDoc MATMAS file(s).
INBOUND IDOC PROCESSING:
Firstly attach your idoc to a process code.
In the process cod you can tell the system that the specified program should be triggered whenever an idoc of that type comes to the system.
Then you want to have a Z-function module for your idoc processing, if I understand correctly.The steps should be:
1. Create a z function module for idoc inbound posting (copy from a function module idoc_input_*).
2. Set Function Modules as Inbound: - Transaction BD51
3. Assign Function Modules to Logical Messages and Idoc types:- Transaction WE57
4. Create process codes : Transaction WE42, and link the z-function module.
5. Create partner profile: transaction WE20 and attach the message type and process code.
6. In the Z- function module, extract data from the idoc segments, do whatever processing you want to do, and then call BAPI_CREATE_SALES_ORDER_FROMDAT2.
Try the Trasaction WE19 for testing your inbound and outbound IDOCs

Scheduling in SAP PS vs. Primavera vs. MSP

Hi all
can anyone tell me what is benefits and drawback only for scheduling in compare with SAP PS with respect to Primavera and MSP. as I know that primavera is best for scheduling among three but what cause it makes better then other two. can anyone gives some comparison between this three wrt scheduling only.

My Customer knows the benefits of SAP against primavera with integration of all module but when we talk about scheduling in SAP PS against primavera or MSP its have some drawbacks. Even customer like L&T and some other clients use primavera for scheduling even they use SAP. So I just wants to know why primavera or MSP overcome to SAP in scheduling part? which things are not permitted in SAP which primavera can do easily. I never work on Primavera if you already work on primavera can you share your view on this?

Receiving IDocs from non-SAP system ...

Hello guys,
I have problem with implementing IDoc-XI-IDoc scenario. The sender system is a subsystem (non-SAP system) sending IDocs but XI is not able to receive them. I thing the IDoc metadata can not be found.
Logical system name of the sender is IF6020DEV. I registered the system in SLD. In Integration Directory I imported the Bussines System IF6020DEV to my scenario and I created communication channel of type Sender IDoc Adapter in it.
In IDX2 I created new port called IF6020DEV and I copied needed metadata into the port. But it doesn't work. Probably I don't do it right because I'm beginner with SAP XI.
Could you give me any advice how to configure XI for receiving IDocs from non-SAP system?

Thank you very much. The issue described in refered discussion is almost same issue what I'm solving. Unfortunetally the described solution dosn't work for me.
The sender system still returns following error. I know you probably won't understand it because you don't know the subsystem, but maybe you could get some idea what is wrong.

HOWTO: Process IDocs To non-SAP receiver

Hi Experts!
Today our SAP R/3 sent the IDoc LOIPRO to non-SAP external system, called O2P.
Now, we would like to send this IDoc (LOIPRO) to XI, and the XI sends the IDoc to the non-SAP external system.
Then, our scenario will be:
Step 1. The IDoc LOIPRO is sent from SAP R/3 to XI
Step 2. Inside the XI, this message is routing and mapping to the
IDoc LOIPRO too.
Step 3. The XI sends the IDoc LOIPRO to the O2P (non-SAP external system).
Well, until Step 2, everything is OK.
But, we are having troubles to create an IDoc Adapter receiver to O2P (external system), because the O2P is a non-SAP system.
So, how can we create the communication channel IDoc Adapter, if the receiver isn't a R/3 system ?
All information will be welcome.

HI,
You can achieve this by dealing with the Native IDOC structure via Integration server for Non-sap systems.
In this case you can use the IDOC adapter to receive the IDOCs to Non-SAP system. Its like treating the receiver Non-SAP system as an SAP system only. For this Non-SAP system should be compatible enough and SAP certified to accept the IDOC structures..
