IDoc with incorrect data is expected to fail but it does not

The Job CQM_CR_O_IF103_IN_INOVIS_ORDER3 got cancelled as result of a short dump. In the initial investigation we found that the IDoc 0000000012089824 had an incorrect information i.e. it had a material which did not
exist. The IDoc is expected to fail and give an error message but has not done so.
We also observed the IDoc does not fail when the incorrect materialhappens to be the last material in the IDoc.
The workaround was to fail the IDoc manually and then the subsequent jobs runs successfully.
Would like to know why the IDoc is not failing when it has incorrect
data.

the idoc fails only if there is a hard error in the segment, means i.e. if there is a wrong transaction type or missing ... But I think that the system behavior is correct, because the idoc cannot fail because a product is "just" wrong. This is no hard error, you should then get an error in the transaction that i.e. the product does not exists. You can try to use badi CRMXIF_ORDER_MAP to check the products, but then please make sure that note 1644057 is implemented.

File to idoc with Master data

I want to Accept the file. B'coz My file is having <b>Material Code</b> filed which is Master data in SAP. If this materail code is not there in SAP I will not post only material code. Remaining all fields will be sent to sap(b'coz it is not mandatory field).

Filling matrix with Dummy Data

I am doing a demo screen for a client and I need to fill a matrix with hard coded data. I followed the sample code and I have the following code but it is not working for me (it throws a matrix-line exists exception):

You should use theMatrix.SetLineData() which is the avaiable statement for user matrixes.
Here is some code that loads a form with a matrix from an XML. This way you can edit form values in the XML, instead of hard coding.

How to find the Size of an Idoc With data

Hi All,
There is business case where in the partner needs an Idoc with size 200KB - 250KB triggerd from SAP.
Is there any chace of knowing the size of an Idoc with data before it gets tirrgerd from SAP.

the sample has a page untitled1 and a bean named test.
I have run in on jdev 11.1.2 and it is ok, it will be ok on 11.1.3
after running the sample you will see the 2.

Issues in IDoc Sender Scenario:IDoc with errors added

Hi all
Am working on an IDoc to JDBC scenario. In R/3 system, I have created distribution model, partner profile, RFC destination and port.The IDoc is generated and is sent to XI successfully. But in XI , there is no entry in SXI_MONITOR for this (unfortunately IDX5 is not available in the XI server! ;as of now). Instead an entry is made in WE05 and WE02 with stautus 56(IDoc with errors added). In the status record:
status 56 : External segment name E2KOMG003 cannot be interpreted
status 60 : Basic IDoc type COND_A03 could not be found.
And the segments displayed in data record are different from the segments in the data record of the IDoc generated at R/3. (say for E1KOMG at R/3, E2KOMG003 in XI).Earlier the flow was working fine and the DB table was updated successfully. And the entire stuff is believed to be 'unmodified' .
Would any one help in resolving the issue.

Creation of Custom IDoc with Message control for sales Order

Hi all,
I am trying to create custom Outbound IDoc with message control.
I wrote the code in a function module and i want to register that function module. (as in inbound registration of function module as in BD51).I am not knowing if that registration is necessary for outbound Idoc, if so in which transacition?
Please list me the steps to create a custom IDoc for Message control.

Hi,
You need to use FM : MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE to create outbound idoc.fill the data in the tables EDIDC,EDIDD and generate the IDOC.

Creation of IDOC with message type INVOIC01

Hi All,
I am trying to create a new IDOC with message type INVOIC01.
When I see transaction WE81, I observe that the required message type INVOIC is available. Also in WE82 the basic types INVOIC01, INVOIC02 and INV_ID01 are attached to the message type INVOIC.
However, while trying to create an IDOC in WE19 using a message type, I get options to create against INVOIC02 or INV_ID01. The basic type INVOIC01 is not getting populated because of which all the IDOC that I create are of basic type INVOIC02.
The client wants me to create IDOCs with basic type INVOIC01.
Can anyone please help?

Vendor Master Creation through IDoc with Multiple Company Codes

I am trying to create vendor masters sent from a 3rd party into SAP using CREMAS05 IDoc. I have the requirement that the vendor should be created in each of 3 company codes and the vendor number is internally assigned in SAP.
I create my IDoc with the general data E1LFA1M and multiple E1LFB1M & E1LFB5M Children. When I post the IDoc using IDOC_INPUT_CREMAS which uses Call Transaction, the vendor gets created for the first company code, but the IDoc errors on the vendor extension XK01 for the next company code with the error: "Fill all required fields SAPMF02K 0111 ADDR1_DATA-NAME1".
In debugging through this, it appears that the vendor number that gets created in the first XK01 transaction does not get passed into the data for the second XK01 call and SAP tries to create a new vendor instead of extending the newly created one.
If I force the value in during debug after the initial call transaction into the variable h_lifnr, it works fine (Vendor created with multiple company codes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot give you exact solution, but can guess why this is happening, below is what I believe.
I think Synchronous update is not happening in call transaction, second transaction is getting processed before the first one is saved, debugging it works fine, because we give system enough time to save while processing.
Generally in call transaction we have MODE, if we pass S - then synchronous update happens, in your case, you need to find the way to incorporate this.

How to Test, Inbound idoc ,with out the Sender System, using a Text File

Generate a file with the data entered through segments through we19 ,and use the same file for processing through we16.
when i am trying to do this syst complaing about
Partner Profile not available, and some times
port not available. and some times with
'No further processing defined'.
but i maintained part profiles and port perfectly.

JDBC - IDoc with acknowledgment

I have the following requirement:
Reading data via JDBC from a database (select query), creating an IDoc and send to SAP.
If the IDoc was sent successfully there should be an acknowledgement written back to the database (there is a special coloumn for acknowledgements in the database,key is record ID).
My question:
- Is it absolutely necessary to use BPM for this scenario (I think yes, as I need to track the record ID to write back the acknowledgement?)
- My idea was to use a send step for the IDoc with enabled acknowledgments (system or application ??). In case of positive acknowledgement I would update the database in the next step (How do you check the acknowledgment returned from the SAP system, do I need a separate asynchronous receive step to get the ALEAUDIT back?)

i think the key of question is either transport ack or application ack?
if you just need transport ack,actually,you do not have to use bpm!

apparently,you need it which is application ack,otherwise,whereis your purpose?

For the inbound IDoc adapter to be able to send an acknowledgment IDoc to the sender, a communication channel with the interface ALEAUD.ALEAUD01 must be maintained for the sender,that is your intergration process.

Some question on IDOC (Control Record/Data Record/Status Record)

I am new in this area, and would like to enquire some question on this topic.
When I view a IDOC via WE02, each of the IDOC record will consist of Control Record/Data Record/Status Record).
Questions:
I notice that the data records consists of many segment (i.e. E1EDK01, etc) which are use to store application data.
1 - My question is do I have to manually create all these segment and do a mapping to my application field one by one (i.e. that is when I want to create a brand new message type from scratch)?
2 - If question no. 1 is Yes, how to do it, what are the transaction code to create it? can you show me the step by step.
3 - I don't have to create the Control record and the status record for my new message type right ? because those field value will automatically pull out from partner profile and system status message, am I correct?

As everything in SAP, with IDOCs too there are
1) Standard IDOCs
2) Standard IDOCs(Extending - Enhancement to an IDOC, to accomodate for custom values)
3) Custom IDOCs
And every IDOC has,
Control record - EDIDC Structure - This mostly reflects the partner profile information, along with few more details which are used for IDOC extension, Sequencing etc
Data Records - EDID4 Structure - These records contain the actual business data of the document in concern. So for ORDERS05 it would contain order details, INVOIC02 - Invoice details so on...
Status Records - These records capture the status of an IDOC from the time it is received/sent from your system and a corresponding business document is created/changed. So this will have messages like "IDOC sent to the port OK" etc which are status from the communication layer(ALE) to application specific messages like "Sales Order XXX created" or "Invalid Material" etc.
You would have noticed something called as Process code in the partner profile, this is associated with a FM(or work flow task etc) which has the business logic coded in.
So in case of an Inbound IDOC, the sending system updates the IDOC - Control and Data records, and sends it to the receiving system. On the receiving system the IDOC's control record is validated against the partner profiles set, if an entry is found then using the process code it finds the associated FM which will decode the data from the IDOC data records as per the IDOC type and then use it to post data into SAP (VIA BDC, Batch Input, BAPI etc).
And all this while the Status records are being updated accordingly.
So with the above context will try to answer your questions,

In case of a custom IDOC, yes you will have to.
In case of a standard IDOC, you wouldn't have you just have set up the necessary configuration (Partner Profile, Process code etc)
In case of a standard IDOC extended to accommodate for some custom values(for which there are no fields in standard IDOC - Let us say you have added some new fields on VA01) - In this case you can still use the standard Process code and Standard FM associated with it, SAP provides several Function exits in these FM's which you can leverage to add your custom logic.

There are several documents available on the net and on SDN detailing step by step approach for all the above three cases,
just search for step by step guide for IDOCS - sap.

Again it depends, in case of using a standard IDOC you wouldn't have to. But in case you have some customizations/enhancements then you might have to.
For Ex: updating the control record accordingly for indicating that you have extended the standard IDOC. Or append custom messages to the status record as per the business logic.
Try out the examples you find on the net and post any specific questions you might have.
