  • Setting in SICF transaction

    Hi All,
I have activated the standard service "WEBGUI" in SICF transaction. It has generated URL.
Now I want to transaport the settings done in SICF transaction to activate WEBGUI on quality server.
But during activation on development server, system has not asked the request no.
So can anyone tell me how to transport the settings done in SICF transaction or do we have to do SICF service activation settings on each server i.e. on quality, development etc?
Kindly do reply as it is very urgent.
    Regards,
    Pranjali

to transport the setting of the SICF service, select the service and then in the menu go to ->object directory entry to attach it to a transport request.
also note that after transporting, by default the services will be in inactive state and you have to manually activate them.

  • Updating Logon Data for Web Service in SICF not possible

Hello, hopefully someone can help me with my problem.
I have created a custom Web Service based on a custom Z Function Module.
This all works fine in our Development environemnt. I was able to go into SOAMANAGER and generate the end point. This created the web service in SICF. I was then able to go into SICF and change the logon data to use our service ID.
    All tested and functionaing great.
We then transported everything to QAS. I again went into SOAMANAGER to generate the End Point, and this worked fine, we have the web service now visible in SICF.
The problem now occurs when I go into SICF and try go into change mode to enter the service user in the logon data tab. I get a popup message stating :
"You cannot use this transaction to change the service."
When I click on the long text explanation I get:
    "Message SHTTP824
You cannot use transaction SICF to modify this service.
This means that only the application has the authorization to use the defined interface to modify this service."
Does anyone know how to get around this ? Or how to define our logon data using SOAMANAGER ?
    thanks
    Adrian

the right way to transport logon info along with SICF service is to create an external alias for your BSP and maintain the logon info in the external alias.
other wise you have to open the production system for changes and change it , which may not be allowed.

    Hi
You can transport a webservice using SE80. But for activation, you have to go to the system ans activate that.
Because SAP also provides the services in the "inactive" state and also you have to individually maintain the settings for the webservices.

  • Appl_soap_management not found in SICF transaction

    Hello All
In SP14 the WSADMIN transaction is obsolute so we are using SOAMANAGER transaction to create web service. To use this transaction we have to activate the appl_soap_management service in SICF but we can not find this service there.
Please let me know what is the problem .
    Thanks
    Sonal

    Hi Sonal,
Sorry to asking this but I am also facing same as WSADMIN says its obsolete and appl_soap_management node is not there inside SICF.
I am wondering, how did you manage to solve this issue and make this soamanager t-code run in the system.
I am surprised that tcode exists but the related web dynpro application does not exist.
Any clue will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Error while Installing Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server

I downloaded "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP" and installed the personal edition. It did not install successfully and gave this error message:
Error while Installing Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server
The specified key was not found while trying to GetValue
    - stop installation of all products.
    - stop installation of this component only.
The installation of Oracle 9i Database was unsuccessful
The Integration tools and client installed just fine from the same download. Why didn't the database install successfully? All the other components seemed to install just fine and the database appeared to be created - but I could not open it and there was not start menu option for DBA Studio.
I am running Windows 2000 professional with Service Pack 3 on a 2 GHz Pentium4 machine with 512MB Rambus RAM, 32bit color graphics ATI All-in-Wonder card, about 40GB of disk space, a local peer-to-peer network via cat5 cable to another Win2k P3 machine, and Creative Soundblaster Audigy card. Do I need to adjust any network settings? Would it help or hinder if I installed MS IIS? WinNT has a Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) but Win2k has COM+ instead; does that make a difference in terms of the installer looking for MTS? Do I need to configure COM+ in some special way / change settings?

    HI Salman,
    I am doing the following.
    1. I am installing Oracle 10.2.01 Database(Not Client) on my windows Xp laptop. While installation i Choose the custom option and Check the Oracle Windows Interface. In that i check the "Install Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction server" checkbox. The installation goes on fine till 99% and when it tries to install the
Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction server it gives an error saying that "Microsoft Transaction server" was not found on the system.
I had previously installed the same on my laptop and it was working fine. but after uninstallation when i try to re install i get this problem.
If i go to the services.msc option in windows i still see the OracleMTSRecoveryService option even when i have uninstalled oracle. But when i try to start the services i get the following error
Could Not start the OracleMTSRecoveryService on the local computer.
Error 3: The system cannot find the file specified.
Any help on how to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated

  • How to distribute web users on appli server via BEx service at SICF?

I read from the BW tuning guide that following is possible:
Distribution of web users across application servers can be configured in the
    BEx service in SICF.
I look into SICF but cannot find a way to configure the distribution.
    Could you help?  Thanks!

    Hi,
I think you talk about authentication in Bex with internet users, is it?
You can configure internet users in tx SU05, and then you can set "Internet users" like basic authentication in bex service.
    Regards.

  • Services in SICF and in SE80

    Hi friends,
Can anybody tell me the difference between services created in SICF and the services in SE80.From where i have to execute the services?
I have created a screen-based service in se80 and published the service.
In SICF i have created the sub-element for the same service created in se80.I have done all the settings.and activated the service and tested that service here itself.
But my doubt is once the service is activated in SICF , from where this service should be excuted? ie., either from SICF or from SE80?
Am confusing at this step.please help me out.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    sireesha

mmm you are a bit confused....let me see if I can help shed some light....
In SE80, you will customize/develop/test your ITS service. Also, from SE80, you can publish it out (yes, even if you use integrated/internal ITS, you still "publish").
SICF, however, is the "framework"/enabler for the internal/integrated ITS. SICF simply allows you to admin your services....such as adding properties about them, activate/deactivate/etc. One big reason for using SICF is that you HAVE to define your service parameters (called "settings" there). Theses are much like the same service parameters your set for your top level service file in SE80, however, integrated ITS ignores those service params  (as well as the global service file). Therefore, you have to (re)define them in SICF. Confusing, I know. But it has a plus side in that you can define some services in one place and not in the other so that the service can behave differently if accessed via external ITS vs. integrated ITS.
As far as testing, you are very right....you can execute/test your service from either location.
For me, I tend to set up my service in SICF, but do all my work and testing in SE80 (just more used to it). But it is up to you.
    Hope this helps!

  • Difference between business activity and service process in transaction

    Hi Friends,
Can anyone explain me  the difference between business activity and service process in transaction category of service desk
    Thanks & regards,
    Shanmugam Balamurugan

    Hi,
Activity means e.g.. sales call, customer visit etc.
But service process means after you sale your product if some service related issue arrives then that is taken care by this transaction.
    Inspire by rewarding.

  • Web Dynpro-layout preview-Error-IE cannot display-service in SICF activated

    Hello,
By starting a view in web dynpro framework, i have the error in tab layout "page cannot be displayed" from IE.
Before i make the change in the DNS and system32/../etc, the layout was displayed, but the web dynpro application cannot be started.
Now after those configurations and activation of services in SICF, i can start the web application only with firefox and not internet exploer, and, that internet explorer is preconfigured for the layout preview, i recieve all times the eror "cannot display" when i start a view in the layout tab.
    1. How can i change settings so that view can be displayed in layout after i actived the (hope the suitables i.e. view designer) services in SICF - Default_host...
    2. Is it possible to change IE to firefox as main browser for layout tab.
    Note: For virtual domain i
    1. add dns "domain.com" in the DNS
    2. add in system32/etc/host file to "127.0.0.1 localhost",    "10.10.0.10 sysserv.domain.com"
    3. and trough tr. rz10 in the instance profil input the icm/.... ....domain.com
Through this three steps i could get the web dynpro application started,
but from the other side, the layout preview do not display the view again
and just send error the message: "THIS PROGRAM CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBPAGE"
    Many thanks for helping

    Hi,
The string is not correctly formed ( a quote and a concatenation ) :
    Your url :
    v_url:=nvl(v_rep_port,'http://'||v_rep_HOST ||':'||v_rep_port||')||'/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||'server='||v_rep_svr;
    The Correction :
    v_url:=nvl(v_rep_port,'http://'||v_rep_HOST ||':'||v_rep_port)||'/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||'server='||v_rep_svr;

  • Understanding on Oracle services for Microsoft Transaction Server frm dba point of view

    Hi ALL,
    i read : -> https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/NTMTS/recovery.htm#NTMTS003
Need help to further confirm my understanding on what i read.
I am coming from the DBA angle... .
the functionality of the Microsoft Transaction server is integrated within the operating system as a COM+ server and as a .NET server,  "
can i say these is the application servers ?
and the Microsoft Transaction distributed co -ordinator components is part of it.
Question, i don't install the Oracle Recovery Services on the above system right?
Question 2, as a dba, my only concern is to make sure the Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server is installed. Is this correct ?
plus making sure to create the OraMTS administrator to run the recovery job to check for in-doubt transaction.
    Question 3:
is this Oracle services for Microsoft Transaction Server used only when an application useses multiple databases in an env?
Can i say that when there is no user MTSSYS in my database, Oracle services for MTS is not used?
The reason why i ask is i am upgrading/ migrating my database and this database don't work with more then 1 database or the application does not work with more then 1 databases.
I ask the apps team all they say is that they are also not too sure. Thus need help/ advice.

    Daniel,
In pre-8.1.7.4.0 beta implementations, your application server e.g. IIS or MTX.EXE hosts MTS transactional components. When such components acquire OLEDB or ODBC connections to Oracle and external service setup for that database i.e. OracleMTSService<id> joins the MTS transaction on behalf of the Oracle database which quite often runs on a non-Windows platform e.g. Solaris. We restrict each database to have one and only such service. This brings in scalability and availability issues. In 8.1.7.4.0 we have embedded the transaction join and commit logic in the clientside dll. There is no OracleMTSService<id> for a given database. The only service needed is a recovery service one per Windows machine on which Oracle Svcs For MTS is installed. This service is automatically created on installation of the product and doesn't connect to the databases. Instead the involved databases connect to the service via HTTP to resolve any MTS-related transactions that are in-doubt.
