IDPW-encrypted.pages

I have some IDPW-encrypted.pages on my disk in the Documents folder. When I double click on these files, an error window pops up with the following message: "The document 'DPW-encrypted.pages' could not be read. The document does not have a valid format." If I click on "Open With" and select "Pages.app (default)" to open the files, the same error window pops up. I assume that Pages.app creates the original files but don't really know. Anyone have an idea what these files are and what app creates the original file?

This is a VISTA issue as I recall, but do not remember the solution. I think it has been discussed before in the forum, so you might do a search for VISTA or such.

Cleared and reset all IE10 settings - no luck

  • Since updating to the latest version of FF I don't see the yellow padlock when I am on an encrypted page - can you help?

The yellow padlock icon used to be in the far right bottom corner and it was in the closed position when you are on an encrypted page like when you are shopping. I no longer see it there and I want to know where you have hidden it, or is it no longer needed. In that case how do you know if you are secure?

The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL. The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the Site Identity Button on the left end of the location (address) bar.
This has actually existed since Firefox 3.0 so it is not new.

If you still prefer to have a padlock icon also then there is this extension. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/padlock-icon/

  • What should I do when a receive a popup prompting I'm about ro view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted informationshould click on the ok button.

I am about to view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information and there is an Ok button should I click on the Ok button.

    Have you tried the following?
I'm assuming there is nothing written on the second page.
Scroll down to the second page and write something.
Highlight everything on that page Usually this will show in blue including the invisibles.
Make sure you attempt to highlight everything by selecting the whole page.
Press Backspace/delete until all of that page is clear.
Continue until your cursor lands on your first page.
By then the offending second blank page should have gone.
I tried this procedure a few minutes ago and it worked.  (Pages 5.5.2)

  • When I try to do financial transactions I get a warning message "You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party." How much do I need to

When I try to process financial information such as log onto my banking account or my paypal account, or pay for something online I get a warning message "You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party." I also never get a padlock to show that I am on a secure site. How much do I need to worry or what should I do?
== URL of affected sites ==

I would not trust that on a banking site. If it were just a forum, no problem, but anything unencrypted during banking is suspicious.

  • Have used firefox for 3 years, have a new computer now and every time I go into my normal places I get a warning about encrypted page and third party viewing, please help!

I have used Mozilla Firefox for 3 years with no issues. I have now purchased a new laptop (Samsung) and cannot access my regular sites (like Windows Live or my banking, most everything) without getting a Yellow waring arrow stating that I am going into an encrypted page and third parties are able to see what I am doing. I am very concerned if others are having access. My bank says it has nothing to do with them...it is an https secure site. I still have major concerns, please help!

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Some https sites displaying message "you have requested an encrypted page which contains some unencrypted information

I am using Firefox 13.01 on a Mac os an I am using electronic box a Canadian ISP. I receive the message when i go to https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=electronicbox and a few others
"you have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party."
The message clearly states that infomraiton can be read or enter can be read by a third party. I would like to know why "youtube" which has https, or SSL service which I am using still displays that message?

Appreciate your suggestions, but this is sounding too complicated for me--especially since I just read Google Chrome is the most secure browser. I may just start using Chrome. Thanks very much anyway!

  • You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information.this is safe or not

During net banking site access this message appear You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party.

I would not trust that on a banking site. If it were just a forum, no problem, but anything unencrypted during banking is suspicious.

I am using Firfox and when I sign in I get the ......message when I try to sign in …..you have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information...........

I would not trust that on a banking site. If it were just a forum, no problem, but anything unencrypted during banking is suspicious.

  • Where in FireFox 4.0.1 do I have the option I am about to view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information to uncheck?

In the previous version of Firefox there was an option under Security > Warning Messages to either check on or off the following statement "I am about to view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information" Can you tell me where in FF 4.0.1 this option has been moved to or what has replaced this question?

I don't know whether there is a button in the dialogs, but you can change your settings using the about:config preference editor.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''security.warn''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Bold items have been customized, and non-bold items are the default settings. I think the one you are looking for is '''security.warn_viewing_mixed'''.
If you change the value and test on a real web page, does it do what you want?

  • How do I disable encrypted page/unencrypted

I would like to know how to disable the above error message that states that "You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information." Where is the setting for this for Firefox 5.0.1. I cannot find it. any help would be appreciated.
    Thanking you
    Victor

Thank you for pointing to the developers' outrageous position. This will at least save us from the frustration of further fiddling with Firefox settings.
FWIW, I'll be filing a bug report (yes, I know it's a "feature") and posting to MacInTouch. Note, too, that this not just a Windows XP issue, as indicated by the System Details, but applies equally to Firefox 7.0.1 running under Mac OS 10.6.8.
If I needed a nanny, I'd have hired one.

  • On gmail I`m getting partially encrypted pages, they`ve said it`s a problem with Firefox. It also happens on another website

When I click onto gmail the login page is partially encrypted. The ibox page is encrypted but when I open an email it is partially encrypted. I contacted gmail who`ve said that it is a problem with Firefox.
On www.boots.com some pages partially encrypted, one of them, rather worringly is the payment page. I`ve reported it nut I`ve been told that there isn`t a problem. Please can you help me?

You can use the Tab key to select a search engine on the bottom bar and press Enter to use the search engine to do the search.
In the current Firefox 34 release there is a new "one-off" search bar.
This search bar doesn't show the name of the search engine and a logo.
You can type one letter to make a drop-down list appear where you can see suggestions and see the used search engine and that also has bar at the bottom where you can select other search engines that are enabled via the Search tab in Options/Preferences.
You can use the Tab key to select one of the other available search engines and press the Enter key to search with the selected search engine.
Click the search engine icon and click "Change Search Settings" to open the Search tab in Options/Preferences (positioned between Tabs and Content) to select the default search engine and select which search engines to show in the search bar drop-down list that opens when you start typing search terms.

  • I have just started receiving a warning that I am about to leave an encrypted page when I log-in to my AT&T mail on Yahoo, plus the lock symbol in the bottom right corner no longer appears.

This problem started within the last 24-36 hours. I have been using the Firefox browser for well over a year. During that entire time I have had it set to warn me when I am about to view unencrypted pages, but I have not encounter this problem until now. I am using the latest version of FF. Is this just a glitch of some type or is it now possible that when I am reading my email it can be viewed by others? How can I resolve this?

If you want to add a padlock icon to the location bar, you can use the Padlock add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/padlock-icon/

  • Get message "You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted info that can be ready by 3rd party, etc." when logging into AOL. What is this?

Message occurs when logging into AOL. Lock at bottom of page has a red line through it. I'll close out and attempt to sign-in again. Sometimes it is cleared and sometimes I get the message again.

I would not trust that on a banking site. If it were just a forum, no problem, but anything unencrypted during banking is suspicious.
