  • 10g XE - 404 error when I click on Home Object Browser (in IE)

    Greetings
I use 10g XE with my xp/sp3 system, with IE7 (initially IE8RC1-also problematic).
The problem is that if I click on Home>Object Browser
I always get a "HTTP 404 Not Found"/The "Webpage cannot be found" error message
I've followed the instructions from htp://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25143/toc.htm#BABFHAEC,
I've uninstalled my antivirus (Kaspersky Internet Security 2009) and have Windows Firewall disabled
I've setup the ports needed by Oracle to my router (1521,2030,8080)
I have even started IE in safe mode(=without addons) --- iexplore -extoff
    I've tried almost anything...
With other browsers (Firefox,Google Chrome, Opera)
that "Object Browser" button works ok,
BUT at other points (eg. "SQL>SQL Scripts>Create")
they all have more or less display problems (while IE shows all other things ok).
    Please help :(
    PS. I've read in http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=554359
that there is a patch (#5648872) that could fix the problem,
but unfortunately http://metalink.oracle.com/ is only for Oracle's paying customers,
while I need/use Oracle 10gxe (free download) for my university lessons :( :(

    Yes, of course.
Here is what I get in IE now instead of a plain 404:

  • Broken links - 404 errors

There are a number of broken links leading to 404 errors in the documentation section of OTN. The viewable library for the 9.2 release is one good example.

oops! Thankfully many universities and other sites host the docs online for the public as well.

  • Getting 404 error when trying to login to Oracle EBS page

    Hi,
I had installed Oracle EBS 12.0.4 last year and everything was running fine until last week. Last week, we suddenly started seeing this issue - when trying to login to the Oracle EBS page, we are getting the 404 page not found error.
I have EBS installed on 2 VMs (virtual machines) - one VM has the application server and other VM has the database server. I logged on to the aplpication server to do some debugging and noticed 2 things ->
1.The Oracle Fullfillment service was not running. I started it, it was up for some time but then it stopped on its own. This happens everytime - after successfully starting the service, it shuts down after sometime. There is nothing in the event viewer except this message "The service may have terminated abnormally, please see the log file generated by the service for more details." I checked the log file, but there is nothing significant inside the log file. Maybe I need to increase the log level. Can any one tell me how can I do that?
    2. Reviver.exe was crashing intermitently on the application server. I belive reviver tries to establish the connection between the application and database server after its broken.
So I am thinking now that maybe the connection between the app server and the database server is getting broken intermittenlty and this is the root cause of all the problems.
I dont know how to verify whethe my analysis is correct or not? And it it is, how to resolved it? Is there a setting or a configuration file in which you have to specify the database server details (ip address / host name etc). Can you tell me where can I find this setting?
Or culd there be something altogether different that is causing the page not found error?
    Thanks in advance,
    Megha

    Hussein,
The problem is partially solved - I am not getting the 404 error now. The issue was not with the netsvc file. Please see the resolution in NOTE:412980.1 (oafm, forms and oacore not starting up after IP adress change).
The OC4J services are imperative for any URL for java code. With just the Apache listener running, examples of URLS that will work are ->
    http://HOST.DOMAIN:PORT/OA_MEDIA/FNDLOGOL.gif
    http://HOST.DOMAIN:PORT/
Any URL for Java code will fail at this stage when OC4J services are down. For example this URL will fail: http://myHost.oracle.com:8000/OA_HTML/ServletPing.
But now, I am getting 500 Internal server error. Let me know if you kno anything about this error ->

  • 404 error with wwv_flow.accept on basic Oracle XE form

    Hi all,
after some extensive research and head-scratching, I'm stumped with the following situation, and wondered if anyone here had any insights...
I have a colleague who is expermimenting with Apex using Oracle XE 10G (For various tedious reasons, we will not be able to use 11G if this gets beyond an experimental stage, so please don't suggest upgrading - I'd love to if I could, but thats how it is...)
He has constructed a very basic little database of a couple of tables, then created some simple forms to play with the data. On one form (a multiple field, multiple row screen used to update and review data in a single table), he gets intermittent 404 errors referring to wwv_flow.accept
I configured the epg to display debug info, and got a consistent stream of ORA-06550 / PLS-00103 errors all referring to finding FLOWS_020100 where it was expecting an operator, etc. (I've pasted the full debug output below minus the field data)
Installing 10G XE onto another colleague's PC did not reproduce the problem.
Removing and re-installing 10G XE onto the original PC still produced the same errors.
(And fwiw, I installed 11G XE on my PC, and that works just fine)
Does anyone have any ideas please?
    many thanks,
    Simon

No, its a very sensible question... :)
The difficulty I face is that it is required to test this on Oracle 10G XE, so upgrading Apex is out due to it being bundled in.
Any actual deployment would be into an Oracle 10 environment initially, which is why it was desired to use 10G XE as the test before going about configuring anything "for real". I guess I might have to look at actually deploying it into a full test environment - especially as the error only happens on one PC.
It would be nice to know why it does it though, just to generate a bit more confidence in the user base!

  • Images and js files within a deployed war file are generating 404 errors.

    Greetings,
I have an odd situation in that image files and js files that are part of a deployed war file are generating 404 (not found) errors when accessed via https but ARE found when accessed via http.
Unfortunately we are required to use https.
I have verified via jar -tf that the files are indeed part of the war file. So, it is not that they are missing as is evident when accessed via http. (they appear as expected)
A work around is to create the sub directories under the document root, on the ohs, and populate the sub directories with the images and js files that were used as part of the war file build. While this works, it doesn't explain why they would generate a 404 error when referenced from within the war via https.
The war file works correctly on our 10g installation.
I also have a very simple deployed war file and it too seems to have an issue finding direcotries/files that are part of the war file when referenced via https but not http.
We are using Oracle 11g OHS and using the WLS Admin Console to do the deploying. We also are using the OSSO for the performing the required authentication.
I have an SR in with oracle and have been working with them but I thought I would post here too.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Impossible to translate an application to German (404 error)

I download XLIFF file for translated application and, without translating, upload it back. To test, I set appplication language by browser.
Once I change the language to German an refresh the page, I get 404 error.
I have uploader the application to the Oracle site (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=2721). If you show this page in german, he gets 404 error.
Maybe someone having access to APEX workspace on Oracle's AS can look at logs and tell me what's happening?
When I try to run this application in german on our development AS (10g with OAS), I see nothing in Logs.
    Thank you.

IgorI hate problems like the one you described :(
You'll need to isolate where the 404 error is happening. Can you still run it in whatever language it worked in before without the error?
Here's what I've seen can cause 404 errors. Sorry this is vague, but its all I have to go on.
    1. Typos in .conf files: httpd.conf, marvel.conf, dads.conf
    2. tnsnames listener is not up
    3. http server is not up
    4. typos in URL
    5. PL/SQL has proper version; Apex 3.2 needs PL/SQL version 10.1.2.0.0
I hope someone can provide a more direct answer

"error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
I have setup the library path and other paths as required.
Has anyone faced such issues? Is there any document which we can refer for initial setups ?
    Regds,
    Nanda

I created a "set_my_formdevelopment" file in my development directory by copying the original and then modifying it. On my iDS machine, under the development directory, I am sourcing this file and the forms developer comes up, then I deploy it to my Test folder on the iAS box. Here is the file I am using for one of my applications. I hope it proves useful.

  • Ids 10g plls path in linux

    Hi
i installed IDS 10g in Linux AS , its working fine but it
cant find the PLLS path despite i add it to the
FORMS90_PATH in the default.env file but i still get the
    errors frm-10102,frm-18108
    thanks

is this at runtime or in the builder? If at runtime make sure you have the correct case (upper/lower)

  • Getting 404 errors

    Hello:
I have EM up an running. It looks fine. I can login and manage my database.
The only problem is that faily often when I click on a button or link, I get a 404 error. If I hit back and try again, the operation goes thru just fine.
It does not happen all the time, but it happens frequently enough to be annoying.
I am using Oracle 10g on Suse Enterprise Server 9.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Neil.

    Hi reQuant,
I just took a peek at your account. Your subscription order is still processing; it can take 24-48 hours for an order to process fully. Once it does, you should be able to log in and convert files without error.
If you do access via a web browser, please make sure that you're using a supported web browser (System requirements | Acrobat.com).
    Best,
    Sara

  • Troubleshooting 404 errors discovered through dynaTrace

I'm using RoboHelp 9.0.2.271 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine to generate a WebHelp project. Everything appears to be fine in the source files and in the output files when I test locally and/or in a build.
I received a message from development that they used something called dynaTrace to test for errors in the build. They sent a list of seven 404 errors logged by the application. The list looks similar the attached screenshot of two (fake) examples.
When I look at the folder where I deliver the output files to development, I see all of the files that are listed under the URI column and the Referrer column, with only a few exceptions for two of the entries. I'm not familiar with troubleshooting the help in this manner and was hoping someone else can shed some light. There are no apparent broken links in the project.
In case these details are helpful, I work exclusively on my hard drive when using RoboHelp. I store the source files through Tortoise SVN. I deliver the output (WebHelp) files to development by copying the contents of my WebHelp folder from my local output folder and pasting them to a location on the network for development to retreive.
    Thanks for any help!

Adding some updates in case any of this rings a bell for anyone. Development did another build last night and ran dynaTrace again. The graphics I re-linked yesterday no longer appear as missing. However, in today's report, additional graphics appeared to be missing (that didn't show up in yesterday's report). One was in a topic that was impacted yesterday for a different graphic (which didn't appear as an issue yesterday). Another one was in a different topic that was not impacted before. Again, when I open RoboHelp and look at the topics and images, they appear to be linked properly. I am not familiar with how dynaTrace actually tests for missing files. RoboHelp shows no broken links or missing images. Not sure yet if it makes a difference, but most of these "missing" images are located within expanding hotspots.
I did find some info on the one file that showed up yesterday and today. The /test/testhelp/contentlist.xml file is missing from the /test-samplesite/test/whskin_mbars.htm referring page. From what I understand, this file is only needed when DUCC is used in a project. We are not using DUCC in this project.

If anyone has any insights, let me know. Thanks for listening.

  • Page Not Found (404) Error

I'm trying to download Oracle 10g on VMWare underneath this link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/vmware/index.html
But I get an 404 error after I accept the EULA instead of the download page. This was working last week.

I am having the same problem with the Oracle 8 to 8i New Features for Administrators link:
