IDSM comand lines removal from 6509 vss switch

Hi in our network we have implimented VSS withtwo Cisco 6509 -Eswitches. In these switch I have installed IDS module and following are my IDS configurations.
intrusion-detection switch 1 module 4 management-port access-vlan 21
intrusion-detection switch 2 module 4 management-port access-vlan 21
intrusion-detection switch 1 module 4 data-port 1 trunk allowed-vlan 27,31
intrusion-detection switch 2 module 4 data-port 1 trunk allowed-vlan 27,31
intrusion-detection switch 1 module 4 data-port 1 autostate include
intrusion-detection switch 2 module 4 data-port 1 autostate include
Whenever I am restarting any node of my VSS the last two lines of the IDS configuration disappears and i need to reenter this manually.
"intrusion-detection switch 1 module 4 data-port 1 autostate include
intrusion-detection switch 2 module 4 data-port 1 autostate include"
Following are my switch details.
Switch model : WS-C6509-E
SUP module : VS-S720-10G
IDS module details : WS-SVC-IDSM-2
IDS firmware : 7.2(1)
IDS software : 6.2(3)E4
I dont understand what causes this problem and during reboot of any VSS node why this configuration is not getting replicated to the othet node?
Please help me...

  • WLC 4402 LAG connection to 2 different chassis of 6509 VSS switch system

    Hi,
I have inherited a 6509 VSS switch system as the network core and have the task of ensuring proper redundancy and redesign of the directly connected data center devices.  One of the connected devices (WLC 4402) physically appears to be connected to both switches - the WLC is in the same rack as VSS-Chassis1 so I can trace the fiber from WLC port 1 to gi1/1/22, the other fiber from the WLC port 2 goes into the floor and presumably over to VSS-Chassis2 gi2/1/22 (there is fiber connected there, I have link lights on both sides, and the port channel, Po200, on the VSS switch which is configured on gi1/1/22 is also configured on gi2/1/22).  My question pertains to the CDP neighbor output I get on the VSS switch: (truncated to include just the WLC)
    NCMECHQWiFi1     Gig 1/1/22        137               H    AIR-WLC44 Gig 0/0/2
    NCMECHQWiFi1     Gig 1/1/22        137               H    AIR-WLC44 LAGInterface0/3/1
    NCMECHQWiFi1     Gig 1/1/22        137               H    AIR-WLC44 Gig 0/0/1
It looks like both WLC ports are physically connected to Gi1/1/22, which they are quite obviously not.
This is confirmed on the WLC's sho cdp entry all output:
(Cisco Controller) >show cdp entry all
    Device ID: ncmec-vsscoresw1.ncmec.org
    Entry address(es): 100.1.0.254
Platform: cisco WS-C6509-E,  Capabilities: Router Switch IGMP
Interface: LAGInterface0/3/1,  Port ID (outgoing port): GigabitEthernet1/1/22
    Holdtime : 160 sec
I believe that the multi chassis etherchannel is set up correctly on the VSS:
    vsscoresw1#sho run int gi1/1/22
    interface GigabitEthernet1/1/22
    description WLC-Management
    switchport
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport nonegotiate
    channel-group 200 mode on
    end
    vsscoresw1#sho run int gi2/1/22
    interface GigabitEthernet2/1/22
    description WLC-Management
    switchport
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport nonegotiate
    channel-group 200 mode on
    end
    vsscoresw1#sho run int po200
    interface Port-channel200
    description WLC-Management
    switchport
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport nonegotiate
    end
And yet when I show the details of port channel 200, I expect to see "mode on" but get instead see LACP which is unsupported on the WLC:

    >>>  So my question, arising at least partly from the apparently misleading CDP information, is this:  How can I confirm that the WLC is correctly dual homed to both core switches? (short of tracing the cable)  I ask because there are several other devices (not WLCs) that need to have the dual homed connections confirmed.
I tried a layer 2 trace route but for all macs associated with the WLC, the trace abborts with the error "Device has Multiple CDP neighbours on destination port."
    Thanks in advance!
    Sue

PS:  It is critical that I confirm the redundancy, since as a part of the data center redesign we will be moving the second VSS chassis to the same rack with the first to simplify the dual connections.  I need to verify all the redundant connections before I take it offline and move it.  Thanks!

  • Why is blurred lines removed from itunes

why is blurred lines removed from Robin Thicke's Album?

Interesting, looks like some sort of weird glitch in the iTunes Store. Track 10 is showing up twice, and track 1 is not showing up at all. I would venture to guess that it would download correctly if someone actually purchased the album, but I won't be the one to test that theory. Hopefully they get it resolved soon.

  • IDSM-II line cards and service password

    Hi,
I have inherited support of some IDSM-II line cards from a previous service provider.  I do not have details of the service account password!
Is there any way to reset the service account password?
    Many thanks
    Liam

Hi Liam. If you have access to an administrator account, you can reset/change the Service Account's password as such:
    sensor# conf t
    sensor(config)# password service
Enter new login password : ********
    Re-enter new login password : ********
Replace "service" with the actual Service Account's name.
If you do not have access to either an administrator account or the Service Account, then you will probably need to make use of the Password Recovery feature to re-gain access.

  • Removal of Line feed from EDI file in IDOC to EDI file scenario

    Hi Experts,
I have one problem related to line feed in EDI file. Currently i am using seeburger mapping to do XML to EDI mapping. After mapping i am using File Adapter(with NFS) to create file in my PI server.
    The line looks like
    UNB+UNOA......
    UNH+1.......
    BGM.........
but i want my file in without line feed
    UNBUNOA......UNH1......BGM
Can this be possible without use of Shell script?
Is anything i can do in Seeburger mapping [i checked BIC mapper in seeburger and see some parameters there]?
    Regards,
    Shradha

    Hi,
I am explaining my scenario in detail:
my Current EDI file looks like
    UNAf1f2............'
    UNBf1f2............'
    BGMf1f2............'
    UNHf1f2............'
now i want my file to be in following format
    UNAf1f2............'UNBf1f2............'BGMf1f2............'UNHf1f2............'
NOTE: to create my current file i am using File adapter with NFS and seeburger mapping.
Can you please tell me a way to remove the line feed from the current file ?
I already tried newline checkbox from seeburger and it is not working. and other parameter i can use from see burger mapping tool which will remove my line feed.
    Regards,
    Shradha

  • To remove line items from invoice which have 0 qty.

    Dear Friends,
Requirement: To remove line items from invoice which have 0 qty.
For this I wrote the code in RV60AFZZ. It is very well happening, but when last line item comes it is failing.
What I have written is " DELETE XVBRP WHERE FKIMG = '0' ." . This code is deleting all the line items with 0 qty except last line item.
Actually, this exit works line item wise. Once the line item is appended, the code what I have written is working. For the last line item, record is not appended when this exit is triggerred, thats why last record is not deleted.
The include where all line items are getting appended in XVBRP is LV60AB03. I modified this also. Same code I have written here to delete the records once it is appended. But after doing this the problem is - invoice is not getting created.
Please help me in doing this so as to delete this last record also. I tried with other logics also, not able to track the last record.
Please help me to resolve this problem.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Check user exit RV60AFZC.
RV_INVOICE_DOCUMENT_ADD is the FM which is called to generate number for the invoice after all the line items have been added to vbrp structure. Add a break-point here and check.
    All the best.
    Regards,
    Amit

There is an issue with BBC iPlayer software update which has buggered up the box
It isnt very stable at all, it's all well and good having iPlayer but if it doesnt work properly I want the new version fixed or the old software back and lose access to BBC iPlayer.
Nothing wrong with the QoS at all- I have had to factory rebuild the software 5 times since the iPlayer update on Thursday morning, box keeps locking up and if you rewind/ ffw anything on demand you get VO4- wasnt an issue before the iPlayer release.
The box is about the same speed as the antiquated Scientific Atlantic V+ HD Box which is slow...

  • How to remove new line character from query output?

    Hi,
How to remove new line character from query output?
    have tried select replace(column_name, CHR(10), ' ') from table_name.
Edited by: GreenHorn on Sep 11, 2008 12:53 AM

Please consider, that windows uses a sequence of chr13||chr(10) Unix uses only one character chr(10).
The new line character(s) may be OS-dependent.
    You could consider both with:
    replace(replace(column_name, CHR(13)||CHR(10), ' '),CHR(10),' ')

  • Upgrading IOS on VSS Switch (

    Hi All,
I would like to upgrade IOS on 6509-E VSS switch. My SUP engine is Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 2T.
    Current OS : s2t54-advipservicesk9-mz.SPA.150-1.SY3.bin
    To Upgrade OS : s2t54-advipservicesk9-mz.SPA.150-1.SY7a.bin
    Procedure is as below.
    =================================================
    1.  Copy the IOS to primary supervisor card using the command "copy tftp:/IOS.bin bootdisk:"
    2.  Copy the IOS to the SECONDARY supervisor card using the command "copy tftp:/IOS.bin slave-bootdisk:"
    3.  Remove the old boot variable string using the command "NO boot system flash bootdisk:OLD_IOS.bin"
    4.  Add the new IOS file to the boot variable string using the command "boot system flash bootdisk:NEW_IOS.bin"
    5.  Config register is already 0X2102 so no need to change it. Reload after this.
    =================================================
Its there any other thing we may need to check because we do have lots of line card and incase it is not supporting new IOS . Also need advice if  any other step missing in upgrading procedure.
    With Thanks.

Your procedure is what I always use.
You can optionally check the MD5 hash value of the IOS file you've downloaded from the Cisco website against the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website.

  • Catalyst 6509 VSS IOS upgrade

    Hi,
We have a Catalyst 6509 VSS system, each chassis have 2 supervisor engines. The IOS version is 12.2(33)SXI4a. We should upgrade to 12.2(33)SXI12.
The following document mention 2 upgrade method : FSU & eFSU
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/vss.html#wp1170391
We can not use eFSU due to the images with release dates more than 18 months apart, so we can use FSU only. And there is some note for FSU :
Note VSS mode supports only one supervisor engine in each chassis. If another supervisor engine resides in the chassis it will act as the DFC
It make me some confuse.... What is the correct procedule to upgrade the Caytalyst 6509 VSS IOS ( each chassis with 2 supervisor engine )?
    Best Regards,

    Hello Jackson,
Please take a on the next post which may answered your questions:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2188244
    Intrachassis Availability
The initial release of the Cisco Virtual Switching System supports only a single supervisor per chassis. If a second, or redundant, supervisor is installed in an individual chassis then the redundant supervisor will not fully boot. The redundant supervisor will stop the boot process at the ROMMON stage.
In this configuration any device connected to the chassis in a single-homed, or single-attach, manner must rely on the availability of the single supervisor. Therefore the recommendation for connecting to the VSS is to always dual-attach devices.
As a result of the single supervisor per chassis support the recovery period for replacing a failed supervisor module is undeterministic in that the recover process requires manual intervention in order to install and initialize a new supervisor in the chassis.
Beginning in the 12.2(33)SXI4 software release, Quad-Sup Uplink Forwarding is supported which allows for a redundant supervisor to fully boot Cisco IOS Software, thereby providing a deterministic recovery option for redundant supervisors in a VSS chassis.

I can't delete events recurring annually...not part of birthday calendar, these are events I've added manually.  I've tried delete key, cut event, changing to no recurrence, they just revert to original recurrence and will not be removed from my calendar.  Events that occur weekly I'm able to delete, this is only happening with events recurring annually.  Very frustrating.  Thanks for any ideas.

If you are using a PC, log on to iCloud using Safari (rather than Explorer) to reset the photostream. Then turn iPhone/iPad photostream off and back on. I was getting the same server error as you and this advice from another blog worked for my iPhone and iPad.  But I still can't get photostream deleted from my apple tv. There does not seem to be a photostream on/off control In Apple tv 4.4 software.  I tried switching the screen saver to one of the ones that comes preloaded on the device, then back to photostream but all the old photos are still there.  If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it.

  • IPhone 4s stolen, erase ordered via "find my iPhone", then removed from iCloud. Will phone still erase?

I was flying back to the UK from Switzerland and in the departures hall my iPhone 4s was stolen.
Long story short, when I got back to the UK (I had to board immediately), I immediately used find my iPad to erase my phone but the phone was switched off so I a message appeared in the app advising that when it came online again it would be wiped. I also called my cell provider (I live in he UK and am with Orange/ EE) the second I landed to bar the SIM and blacklist the phone.
My replacement arrived and my provider instructed me to remove the previous phone from my icloud account immediately which I did.
My question relates to the wiping of the device after removal from my iCloud account:
Now that it's removed will the phone still wipe if it comes online again? Or, now that its removed, is the order to wipe cancelled?
I had an encrypted password keeper on the phone (behind its own password) with, obviously loads of passwords (banking, etc) that I have changed but am a little nervous about as there was a period of a few hours that the thieves may have had time to use if they are savvy enough.
    Any help would be appreciated.

We'll if the person were to hack it without knowing the password, than he would have to completely restart the phone and all information will be lost if don't the right way. My brother forgot his password for his iPod and I did it the way apple told me to and it completely cleared the iPod so every if they get your phone, they can't txt or call under your name and stuff.., hope this helped! Have a nice day and please let me know if there a any further details and reply this if you figure out how everything goes! Goof luck and have a nice day once again!
