IDSM2 license upgrade issue

Hi folks,
i have to buy IPS license for my 2 IDSM-2 mosules in order to upgrade them from IDS to IPS.
I take a look to Cisco pricing list and i found 2 software code and i don't know what is the correct one: could you help me ?
1)CON-SU1-WS-IDS2K9
2)CON-SU1-WSIDSXLK9
3)CON-SU1-WIDSBNK9
What is the difference between them ?
I need to purchase IPS license for my IDSM-2 and signature update.

You can apply the IPS-sig-S202-minreq-5.0-1.pkg Signature Update and all following signature updates to all 5.0(x) versioned sensors as well as the newly released 5.1(1) version.
These signature updates contain new signature definition parameters to support the new version 5.1(1) sensors. These new signature definition parameters are also seen on version 5.0(x) sensors, but are ignored if configured on version 5.0(x) sensors.
The sensorApp binary on the 5.0(x) sensors is updated during the signature update so that the new sensorApp can read in, and properly ignore those new signature update parameters. This was done so that a single IPS signature update file can be used across all version 5.x sensors.
The new signature definition parameters have been added in version 5.1(1) and are ignored if configured on version 5.0(x) sensors. Any signatures requiring these parameters do trigger on version 5.0(x) sensors.
Be aware of the following installation caveats:
You can apply the IPS-sig-S202-minreq-5.0-1.pkg Signature Update and all following signature updates to version 5.0(1), 5.0(2), 5.0(3), 5.0(4), 5.0(5), and 5.1(1) sensors.
However if you apply any of the signature updates to a 5.0(1) sensor, then you should not upgrade to the 5.0(2) or 5.0(3) Service Packs. Similarly, if you apply the signature update to a 5.0(2) sensor, you should not upgrade to the 5.0(3) Service Pack. The 5.0(2), and 5.0(3) Service Pack installations scripts do not carry forward the new sensorApp binary (CSCsb49911). Upgrading to 5.0(2) or 5.0(3) results in sensorApp generating errors while trying to read the new configuration, and prevents sensorApp from monitoring for attacks. For this reason the 5.0(2) and 5.0(3) Service Packs have been removed from CCO.
If you apply the signature update to a 5.0(1) sensor, you should upgrade to either 5.0(4) or 5.0(5) Service Packs, or 5.1(1) Minor Update. They do not have the CSCsb49911 issue.

We have 15 users with 9.0, most of whom periodically experience the well known Error "Licensing has stopped working". The licensing repair tool does not fix for long nor does any of the other lengthy resolutions detailed in the licensing stopped working KB on adobe.com

1. How do I upgrade users from 9.0 to 9.5 if 9.0 no longer has any updates available? Will the 9.0 license cover this and how can I get media / install file as I can only find update files to an existing 9.5 file (we have tested a problematic user on a new version of Adobe and this is shown to resolve the issue)

For licensing error please try the following:
Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file:
Windows: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
Launch Acrobat, enter the serial number and check.

Wcs license upgrade issue

Dear all,
We have two 4400 controllers which support 50 Access points each and wcs with 100 base license.Now we added 5508 controller supports 50 access points.wcs is upgraded with another 50 ap license.The 5508 controller is joined to wcs and the licence showing permanent.WCS showing all aps and showing both 100 and 50 licence as permanent.
But the issue is while loging into the wcs it showing the error message as"The system is in violation of license.The number of APs registered is greater then licensed."
What might be the reason.Please help me.

Because your WCS is still licensed for 100 APs ....
There are 2 license level : Base and PLUS.
You had a 100 AP Base license.
You bought a PLUS_UPG license which upgrade 50 out of your 100 AP count to PLUS.
Result : you now have 100 AP licensed on WCS, out of which 50 have the "PLUS" feature set.
You should have ordered a "BASE ap count 50" license. or if you want to go to plus, a "plus_UPG" license but for the 100, and then a plus ap count 50.

Failover fails (turns off) after License Upgrade for 5520s.

Hi-
I recently did a license upgrade on an active/standy pair of 5520's (8.04) for a 2 to 50 SSL VPN upgrade. According to Cisco Document #70390 it should have been a no brainer...but it wasn't. According to the doc upgrading the activation key of the primary then doing a wr mem along with a physical shutdown causes the secondary to become active. But in my experience as soon as the new activation key was entered failover broke. This caused the secondary to remain inactive and I had to reboot both to get the network back up (of course only one could be active and so I took the secondary offline so I could upgrade it via serial). So I brought the secondary up (after activation key upgrade) and failover did not kickin. I did a sh failover on both machines and both said failover was off. I would do the failover command on the primary and secondary...nothing. It wasn't until I did a no failover active on the secondary that failover finally started to work properly.
Anyone else have this experience? I have a ticket open with Cisco for the Doc # 70390 for clarification via my experiences. Any input would be appreciated on this. I was working on the assumption that I would have 2 to 3 minute outage as the primary rebooted but turned out to be a longer outage than anticipated and higher ups were pissed...

Firstly - thanks for posting all your findings with this issue, otherwise I would have followed the Cisco doc too!
I just have a couple of queries though... after failover is disabled and the ASA's remain in their current state, rather than use the console port to perform the license upgrade, would the "standby" ASA still be assigned the 'standby' IP address, even though failover is disabled? For example, the active had the inside ip address 1.1.1.1 and the standby was assigned 1.1.1.2 on its inside interface. Would this configuration state be the same when failvoer was disabled?
The reason for asking, is whether the upgrade could be performed remotely (whether this is a sensible idea is another thing!). So could I connect to the "standby" unit by IP to upgrade the license?
The second query is regarding the reboot of both units (as opposed to shutting down). Following the license upgrade on both units, could you just reboot both units ("standby" then "active"), and when they both come back up, enable failover? I would assume the previous "active" unit would again become active and failover restored??

IDSM-2 - upgrade issue - 5.x to 6.x

Hello All,
I have an issue upgrading the IDSM-2 module I'm playing with.
It is currently running version 5.0(2).
The thing is when I try to upgrade the image to the latest 6.x version using the .bin.gz file, I get the follwing error message :
The filename IPS-IDSM2-K9-sys-1.1-a-6.1-2-E3.bin.gz is not a valid upgrade file type.
Continue with upgrade? []:
There is no image file that is not .bin.gz on the download section of the website. Only recovery images have the .pkg extension.
Does anybody how to troubleshoot this simple(I guess) upgrade issue?

You are trying to "upgrade" using a "System Image" (-sys-) file instead of an Upgrade file.
The upgrade file for the IDSM-2 is the standard upgrade file used across almost all IPS/IDS models:
IPS-K9-6.1-2-E3.pkg

Cannot Connect to VPN After License Upgrade

Hello,
I am having an issue where I can't connect to VPN after upgrading the license.
The license upgraded is related to AnyConnect VPN.
I noticed from the newly upgraded license, the Encryption-3DES-AES is disabled whereas previously it was enabled.
Could it be the cause of the issue?

Certificate for 2 license upgrade has 1 s/n so 2nd license doesnt work

My user is running CS6 and purchased a 2 license upgrade for Design and Web Premium CS6 Upgrade and received the certificate with only one s/n. One system upgrades fine, but the second system acts like it is using shareware. It requires reinstallation every 30 days or so (verified with user and Tier 1 support - Help Desk). I am Tier 2 support, so I need to find out what is going on here.
I have been on the phone on hold for 1hr 56min effective this post, and have 30 minutes before my day is over. Since I am Govt., I can leave the phone on and running all day if need be.
So, why doesnt this thing work the way the Certificate (and my Help Desk) claims it should?

UCCX Enhanced License upload issues

I have a site that is under the gun to finish a UCCX migration from 4.0 to 7.0 We put in for the license upgrade using a PAK but when we load it the system tells us that it is not valid to upgrade using this file from "NONE" Generally that section tells you what files you already have if you add a feature license file.
We opened a case with TAC but in the meantime we loaded an NFR license file so we could start to configure the system. I then found a PAK for 4-5 to 7 for another site that is being closed. When I got that license file back and tried to run the set-up Wizard again, it tells me the new license is not a valid upgrade from Premium and will be ignored.
Does this mean I will never be able to get off the NFR license? Am I stuck on this license file even if I get my correct one tomorrow or the next day?

Yes, that is correct that you need the 4.x main system license plus the NEW upgrade license, but the main issue here was "What do I do if my system is running incorrect licensing?" And the answer is, you need to reset the flag for the Web GUI to Fresh Install and you need to delete the references to the existing license files. Both actions are done through the Windows on-board support tool accessed via Start-->Run
I would not recomend doing this the first time without TAC on the line, but if anyone else wants to provide the command you use to access this tool, feel free. It escapes me at the moment.

I have to upgrade OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 to OBIEE 11.1.1.5 along with OBIA 7.9.6.1 to 7.9.6.5(Informatica 8.6.1 to 9.0.1) at my client location and I have very little knowledge on it. and want to know/have help documents for upgrade.
And if anyone in the forums involved in upgrade please list the errors/issues occured during upgrade and after upgrade.

Report generation toolkit upgrade issues

I have created multiple vi's in that utilize the previous report generation toolkits specifically using the Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi and the Generate Report Set Modified Data.vi. Obviously the report reference has now changed in 8.6's version of the report generation toolkit and these vi's do not exist in the 8.6 library anymore. What vi's do I need to replace these functions with to make this code work. Can anyone tell me what the work around is to solving this problem. This is a picture of the code.

The Report Generation VIs on the LabVIEW Palettes mutate properly. However, you may run into upgrade issues if VIs distributed with LabVIEW, but not available in the Palettes are used in the code. Hence, I would caution against using them for the same reason.
In this case, the specific references do exist in the report generation classes; however, since they are private, they cannot be accessed by VIs outside the respective classes. A temporary workaround for now is mentioned in the following KB 4OOCSJ4M Getting References in Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.3 with LabVIEW 8.6.
This was reported to R&D (CAR# 123064) for further investigation

We're currently on 4.6b and going to upgrade to ECC6 with unicode I'm trying to compile a list point taken care converting to unicode from ABAP technical point of view. Does anyone have such a list?
Some points i shortlisted are :
1) Use GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD rather than WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD.
2) Structures or table headers that contain non-character data need to be identical when moving, comparing, selecting into, updating from, etc.
3) OPEN DATASET filename IN TEXT MODE FOR INPUT ENCODING DEFAULT.
I know there are others. Any help would be appreciated.

With a single user license, you can install Acrobat on maximum two computers, say, your laptop at work and desktop at office.
But, you cannot use Acrobat on both the machines simultaneously.
You will first need to deactivate Acrobat from the old machine, then install and activate the software on the new OS with the same serial key.

We are having a frequent disruption in the communication SO which has an
externalConnection Class. Did anything change in 3.5? We did not have
these errors in 3L!
After these erros, we have a mutex locking problem which leaves our
application hanging.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

R12 upgrade issue:Not able to login using forms:Please help****urgent

We have recently upgraded our instance from 11.5.9 to 12.0.4 in Windows 2003 server.
We are unable to login to forms after upgrade, however we are able access self service responsibilities without any issues.
We are getting APP-FND-01496 when we access any forms responsibility. We have tried all possible metalink notes with no luck.
Any help to resolve this issue will be appreciated.
