  • Oracle 8.1.5 Error

Upon running the Oracle 8.1.5 Enterprise runIns.sh I get the error message
"Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /usr/local/jre/bin/jre. Please Wait..."
Then it brings up the error on the next line
"Xlib:connection to lulu:0.0 refused by server."
I set the DISPLAY environment variable to be lulu:0.0 because I thought that that was what it should be. Is this right or should it be something else.

I am having the same issue as Richard. I am installing Oracle on Red Hat 6.1 on a single machine from the same machine. If I do not set the DISPLAY variable idt errors that the DISPLAY variable is not set. If I do set the DISPLAY variable, I get:
    "_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect : errno = 111
java.lang.InternalError:Can't connect to X11 window Server using 'whatever_I_set_DISPLAY_to' as the value for DISPLAY variable"
I am not sure what it means, if anything, but I can start my xwindows session by the command "startx" and works fine, but if I use the command "X" it only gets as far as displaying the background image and will not load any farther than that. Is my xwindows set up incorrectly?
I just can't seem to figure out my display problem. Please Help!

"The Network Adapter could not establish the connection"
did you create db connection and test it?
There is an another way to deploy (tunneling).
create prod domain, you may have to extend your domain to include adf libraries.
    start admin server
goto, wl (http://<ip>:<port>/console) console create datasource
enable tunneling under server's protocol tab
create an app. server connection (View menu Application Server Navigator) in jdev
right-click on your app. goto Deploy - application name - to - new connection
run the jspx in the browser (http://<ip>:<port>/appname-ViewController-context-root/faces/jsfpagename.jspx)

  • Connection Refused when starting node manager on Linux

    Hi,
I'm using Weblogic 6.1 SP 2 on Redhat Linux 7.1 with Sun JDK 1.3.1. When I'm running

Server) I'm getting the following message:

The Node Manager is listening on the server's listen address (jarjar) and on the

The admin server is registered in the nodemanager.hosts file.
Can anyone help me on this?

....I happened to get "execute command 'online null'" because of a missing
"Listen Address" and/or "Listen Port" entry in the "Remote Start" tab of the
    Administration Server.
Node Manager passes on such values when starting up a managed server - if
either is blank, the managed server can not identify the Admin Server to

  • Error while creating a BO Universe (using IDT) on top of SAP HANA Calculation View with Input Parameters

    Hi All..
We are trying to create a Universe (using IDT-Version4.0) on top of the HANA Calculation view. The Calculation view has 4 input parameters, So
in Universe side we have created the respective prompts. For the creation of derived table we have used the following code
    SELECT *
    FROM "_SYS_BIC"."<schema_name>.<CV_Calculation_View_test>"
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_A$$','@Prompt(A)'),
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_B$$','@Prompt(B)'),
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_C$$','@Prompt(C)'),
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_D$$','@Prompt(D)')
While validating the above code we are getting an error.
I have attached the snapshot of that error for your reference. Please find the attachment and help me in resolving it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello George,
I don't have any personalization set on the info space. Also I am using mapped Account in BI to connect to HANA. The confusing part is that it is able to validate the infospace with the input parameters and index it. However query does not return any results. I even tried running the same query which explorer sends to HANA in the SQL editor and there too the same results, the query does not return anything. The model does return data when I do a data preview and if accessed from other tools like AAO.
Also when I use SSO connection to HANA, indexing of the infospace fails. Where can I see the error log?
    Thanks,

  • Unexpected Behavior error while creating a connection in IDT

    Hi Everyone,
I have created a connection on top of a database using ODBC.
I could able to see the connection in IDT.
I have mentioned the user name and pw correctly  and tried testing the connection and got the error "unexpected behavior"
    PFA error.
what could be the reason? any idea?
    Thanks.

I find this 32-bit vs. 64-bit ODBC somewhat confusing.  I know you aren't dealing with Crystal Reports, but this blog post does provide some clarity.  It has a link to this Microsoft knowledge base article from which I quote...
A 64-bit version of the Microsoft Windows operating system includes the following versions of the
Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) Data Source Administrator tool (Odbcad32.exe):
The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
The 64-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\System32 folder.
One other warning.  In my experience I have found that you cannot run both the 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC admin tools at the same time.  If you have one running and try and start the other one it will just bring up the one you already had running.
To make sure I know which instance I am in at any give time I have created a dummy data source that corresponds to the instance; 32-bit or 64-bit.
Let us know how it goes.

  • Error when opening an RFC connection in IDT

    Hi Experts,
I m trying to create a relational connection (JCO) from IDT to BW 7.4, and I m getting the following error:
Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: ' ThSAPOCMINIT', communication
I searched this error in Internet and I found many discussions about it ...And I think it's about autorizations in BW system that by default dosen't allow external servers to connect to it.
So, I changed the values for the following parameters in RZ11 t-code:
    gw/acl_mode = 0
    gw/reg_no_conn_info = 0
But I still get the same error ...When I checked the SM59 t-code I found that IDT create an entry in TCP/Ip connections ...
Can you guide me to solve this issue...
BW server is 7.4 version on AIX OS
BO server is 4.1 SP05 on windows system
Thank's a lot for your help.
    Abdess,

    Hi,
test the RFC connection in sm59.If it is sussecfull then try to create conneciton otherwise see the error message.

  • Getting Error message while trying to access security editior for a IDT universe

    Hi,
I have created universe in SAP BO4.1, using IDT.
I have applied row level security for User Groups using Security Editor.
I have published the changes to repository.
But when I am trying to re open the security editor for that universe its throwing error:
"Unable to load security for universe ID ATF10O... (IDT 022123)."
I am not able to edit row level security, even this security restriction is not restricting data in WebI report.
    Thanks for your response.

    Hi Sonal,
The local file of Business Security Profile is missing or damaged.
    Resolution
Use the workflow to reset the problematic Business Security Profile in the filestore. After that, you can manually re-create the new Business Security Profile to make it working.
Logon to CMC and find the ID of the universe with issue(e.g. 9010).
Logon to Query Builder (http://<web server>:<port>/AdminTools/).
Find the detail information about this universe with the following SQL statement:
    select * from CI_APPOBJECTS where SI_ID = 9010
In the Search Results List, you will find a row with the title of SI_SL_BSPS (Business Security Profile), note down the number of it(e.g. 9016).
Then search with the following SQL statement in the Query Builder:
    select * from CI_APPOBJECTS where SI_ID = 9016
In the Search Results List, SI_PATH is the local file address of the Business Security Profile (e.g. frs://Input/a_146/035/000/9106/).
Then you can back up the file and delete it.
Select a Business Security Profile without issue and rename it as the deleted one.
Put the new normal Business Security Profile under the location of the deleted file.
Then you can delete it in the IDT and recreate it normally.
Refer: SAP Note - 2080272 - Error "Universe access failure Unable to load security for Universe ID XXX (IDT 022123)" appears when editing a Business Security Profile in Information Design Tool

I am trying to connect Crystal report for Enterprise over IDT Universe which is based on an ECC table. While establishing the connection in crystal report an error pops us stating the data source in invalid as shown below:
Hope the following version details will help you to get some clue on the error.

  • Error on testing connection in IDT

    Hello,
I got a BI 4.1 SP03 over SBO. Connection is to MS SQL 12.
got a strange error while trying to create measure inside IDT, after a while that evertyhing was working fine.
Continued the 'investigation'  and found out the connection in the BO to the DB fails - while pressing "EDIT" on the connection and pressing "Test" inside the popup - succeed.
Important: This is happening since upgrade from BI 4.0 to 4.1 SP03 3 days ago.
The file attached is the error I get while creating a measure on IDT.
Webi working fine, dashboards working fine. data is coming from DB fine. only IDT and DS runs into error (same error in all actions)
Couldn't find in similar case around - anyone have any idea?
    Thank you,
    Or.

    Hi,
I have seen the BI4.1 SP03 IDT test connection failed while the test of the same connection succeed in edit connection in IDT.
It seems that the connection I created, which is an Oracle JDBC connection, in BI4.1 SP03 universe designer is somehow not compatible with IDT test although the JDBC connection works in BI Launchpad and in Webi rich client.
The workaround is to delete this problem JDBC connection IDT does not like, and recreate it in IDT instead of universe designer.  After that, this recreated JDBC connection works successfully on both universe designer and IDT connection test.
    Hope this helps,
    Jin-Chong

  • IDT ODBC Error - Data source name not found...

    Hello,
In the IDT, I have created a successful connection to a Relational Connection to my SQL Server datasource.  However, when I try to access the data in the Data Foundation, I get the error, "ODBC Driver Manager.  Data source name not found and no default driver specified.  I am trying to use a shortcut to the connection in the repository.  I am able to make a local connection to this database using the same steps above but I'm only getting this error when using the respository connection.
I appologize if I have not explained this well or used the right terminology as I've only been using this tool for about a month with very little support.  The support I do get does not know what this problem is as they are able to connect to it fine on their computer.
Thank you for your time and responses,
    Aaron

    Hi Aaron
    This is the product limitation.
Combination of 32-bit and 64-bit data providers in a Multi-source enabled Data Foundation is not supported.
Remove ODBC Drivers 32-bit for SQL Server from the user's workstation and Install ODBC Drivers
    64-bit.

    Veer S.
