IDT HD Audio device missing. Drivers don't install.

Product Name:
HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214 Desktop PC
Product Number: QW701AA
OS: Windows 8 Pro x64
No audio Device installed. (unless i connect any usb audio devices or my hdmi from graphics card). When any of those are connected it does recognize them.
System Changes -
Power Supply - 600W Thermaltake
Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 660
PCI - USB 3.0 - PCI Card
Storage - Added intel 520 series SSD 180GB. Recovered entire system onto it and formatted 1.5TB HDD for storage.
Chassis - Coolermaster HAF-XB
I have tried installing SP59424 from HP support but it will not install.
After extracting files and asking if i want to install the driver it reads "IDT High Definition Driver" - "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been cancelled. (9996)
I have tried downloading the codec/driver at plenty of other sites with no luck, i even tried rolling back to windows 7 and installing the win7 original driver, same problem. All this time of course running as an administrator. I have also COMPLETELY formatted all my drives, restored using my HP restore discs from last year and still no audio. I did also try uninstalling all audio devices, (webcam/usb headset/graphics card) i put my old DVI-only graphics card in and still no luck.
I read in the motherboard spec that if a sound card is installed the onboard is disabled. So i rid of all possible audio except the onboard. Last but not least I also updated the BIOS to the most recent, (listed under windows 7 x64 support) the BIOS has NO option for integrated audio. It is supposed to be under advanced but it is not anywhere in the BIOS.
Please help, i have spent the last 4 days trying to get this working.

Hello soriano7709.  I understand you're unable to get your sound card to install.
Has the sound card ever worked?  How long have you had this PC?
Did this computer originally have Windows 8 installed?
Have you tried running HP Support Assistant to see if it is able to install your driver?  If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed you'll need to install the HP Software Framework as well as HP Support Assistant.
I'd also like you to verify that the device is being detected by your computer by providing me the Hardware IDs for the device.  Try the following.
From either the Metro or Desktop views press the Windows+X key combination.  This opens the "Context Menu."
Select "Device Manager."
Expand every section.  Look for any devices that are named "Unknown" or "Other."  You should also look for any devices which have a yellow exclamation point beside them.  If your sound card is listed in the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section then select it specifically.
Right click on the device and select "Properties."
Navigate to the "Details" tab.
Select "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down menu.
Post these here.
I'll keep an eye out for your response.  I hope you have a great day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"

    Hi,

(I recently changed motherboard for my computer Elitebook 2540p. When i installed windows 7 to my computer the computer doesn't list any audio devices in device manager page. I've checked bios for any faulty settings and they are all set right. Theres no yellow marks in device list either and all drivers seems to be installed.)
    New situation:
Installed windows 7 again and computer found / installed audio devices normally. I tested computer for hours to play audio from it and everything worked fine. I restarted computer several times / re installed battery to the computer. On one restart the computers audio quick mute button below the screen appeared to be orange and the sound speaker icon in windows was marked as X. I check device list again from device manager and there was no audio devices listed (No sound devices at all). After that i restarted computer and before the computer started downloadin windows i pressed the mute button and it turned blue. I then went to windows and sound devices / sound was working again.
     Old situation:
I have motherboard integrated IDT audio device.
When i try to install audio drivers from hp site for 2540p i get "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update." And the device manager doesnt list any IDT audio devices.
I then installed xp and the computer found IDT audio device normally and the sounds are working correct.
    New situation:
After i did new windows 7 install and all my audio drivers installed / devices showed in device list / audio worked i downloaded audio drivers from HP driver site and installed them to the computer.
Audio problems has not been occured again after my HP screen mute button turned to orange / Windows sound speaker was marked as X / Computer didn´t find any audio devices.
Currently waiting if the problem occurs again and trying to think what would cause this ( Hardware problem or software)? And how to fix it permanently.
    Any help for this problem?
BIOS is updated to newest version from HP driver download center.

  • Various missing drivers after re-installing Win7 64 bit on hp pavilion dv7-6111eo

    Aloha
First off... I'm no techy, geek or nerd... And I mean those words in the best way, to those who are.
In this case You need to see me like a kid in kindergarden, being taken by the hand, and being shown what to do, down the the last detail. Sad but true.
Without me knowing why, I experienced missing several DLL-files, and often got error messages about those.
A pain in the neck, so I re-installed Windows 7 64 bit, as I didn't want to mess with those DLLs missing.
After that re-installing, I couldn't get internet-connection to my router. Luckily I have a 10+ year old stationary, where I after some time found the driver I needed, so that works now.
But now it seems there's several other drivers missing/not been installed.
I got a little info, from another post, what to provide with info, and hope that will be enough. if not, then please let me know the additional info that may be needed, and where I can find those on my PC, so I can provide these.
    Missing drivers:
    Network Controller;
    Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&SUBSYS_53158086&REV_34
    SM Bus Controller;
    Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C22&SUBSYS_1659103C&REV_05
    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller;
    Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_0194&SUBSYS_1659103C&REV_04
I have 4 USB-ports, but only one will work, the others don't respond, and I need all four running at the same time. Plus I'd like to have everything in order after I had to re-install Win 7.
I thank You in advance for any and every help I can get. Just have in mind, that I need the things carved into paper.

  • Audio device missing after wakeing from sleep modeOptions Mark as New Bookmark S

I have an HP Pavilion a1253w. I just installed Win7 home premium 64bit. I had to do "Custom" install as I was upgrading from XP. I also had to change boot sequence to DVD drive to get it to load. (Win 7 installation disk instructed this) I tried to do the easy transfer but it was a mess. Reinstalled win7 (Didn't have to change boot sequence this time). Both times I installed win7 the sound card was not found. Just the "Unknown Device" with the yellow triangle. After windows update the device shows up and I have sound. Now (only after re-install) when the pc goes to sleep when I move the mouse nothing happens, I have to hit a key on the keyboard. When it wakes up, there is no sound card listed. When I do a restart, the sound card is there, and all works well. I know most would say "Just don't have it sleep". This is my son's PC and he always forgets to turn it off. I have external speakers hooked up the monitor is an HP vs17e it has built in speakers but I am not using them.
Now I know there is a lot to read and take in, just trying to put as much info as possible to help you all help me.

Nobody out there has any suggestions, opinions, or anything?

  • Combining Audio Devices: Input Channels don't work

    Hello,
I combined 2 Audio Interfaces with 2 input channels and 2 output channels each with my default audio output using the Audio-MIDI-Setup.
Now i realized that one input channel per interface disappeared, but thats all good, because these channels were dead anyways.
But: When combining the devices to a new device the input channels just disappear.
The Audio-MIDI-Setup lists 6 output channels an 0 input channels for the new device.
When using the audio interfaces normally (without creating a new device) the input channels work perfectly, so there's no hardware error.

  • Sound devices missing post-10.6 install

Did an upgrade on my MacBook Air. Everything else went smoothly... except suddenly my sound devices are missing. No output, no input. No more software updates to install.
    Anyone have any idea?

As per a forum search here will show you if you're looking hard enough, the flex cable and sound board go south on these things due to frequent overheating. This was confirmed by a Genius yesterday. They're going to replace the cable and sound board, as well as order a new logic board and replace that if they find other heat damage.
As to your problem, I saw some suggestions that the sensor that detects optical/analog output for your jack may have become dirty and to try and "clean" it by repeatedly inserting/removing your headphones. I don't know if that'll help you at all, but I do remember seeing it.
    Good luck!

  • G60-235dx no audio seen and drivers refuse to install

what can I do to get audio back? I have had a HD failure and reinstalled the OS when it finished I see nothing but red x at speaker and no audio seen.

The system stats are irrelevant. The mobo is in the subject. 7125-60 is the exact model.
Windows install (the whole XP line) only needs two files in the initial phase of install (after F6). This is simply so the installer itself can see the RAID. After that (directly after the format if you choose to format) and right before the install starts loading all the files it needs before the first restart, it will access teh floppy to get the rest of what it needs for XP itself to be able to see the RAID. That is what is not happening.
In Xp Pro (non Media Center Edition), the second access of the floppy after the format goes though perfectly fine. In Media Center Edition it tried to access teh floppy, then simply refuses to load the files off teh floppy.
Its pissing me off at this point. Right now my theory is that some sort of asinine protection Microsoft "protection" (possibly driver sig) is blocking the drivers from loading, and XP MCE is loading its own non-working retarded drivers.
Ive tried slipstreaming and it didnt work the first time. I dont have vmware to test it on and I dont want to screw up too many DVDs, and simply using XP Pro is not a solution, its a 'i give up' stage.
    Hi,
    A couple of thoughts:
    1) When you load the initial driver floppy (F6), does it give you a choice of which drivers to load?  Typically, when I've had to do the F6 thing, there'd be multiple sets of drivers, and I'd get a menu and have to select the correct one.  If so, was there a menu item specifically for XP Media Edition (or whatever it's called)?
    2) Are you by any chance using a USB floppy drive?  There's a reference here to an MS KB article (916916) about compatible USB floppies:
    http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.intel/msg/df7b2411c347566f
but, I searched the MS KB, and couldn't find that article.

  • Wifi/WLAN Drivers don't install on e420

I bought an e420 a while ago and it came today. Before I even did anything, I popped in my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Disk and formatted the HD and installed windows. After going to the website and getting the drivers for the laptop, it seems that I am unable to install the WLAN Drivers. I've tried 4 or 5 times and then reinstalled windows and tried it again with no luck. Any Ideas?

Hi, I recently salvaged an E420 and have installed a new Windows 7 and installed ALL Lenovo tools including Solutions Center, Techvantage and downloaded and installed new BIOS and all drivers. I have installed the Intel WLAN installation tool and it ran. But I can't see the WLAN network card. I verified that my laptop has the Intel Centrino 1000 card by opening up the panel. Installed intel Pro tool downloaded from the intel website as well. (didn't take as the install failed and noted that newer version was installed). I can turn off airplane mode using F9 (it says wireless is ON and GREEN) but in device manager i only see unknown device and can't update driver..Solutions Center notes device needs to be updated but doens't get me a new driver. I've tried to disable the miniport drivers because i saw somewhere else that might interfere. At this point, I'm at my wits end. any help is appreciated.tiam

  • I remove by mistake the realtek audio device high definition audio bus. Now, the sound of my computer is not working. What should I do?

    Hi!
I remove by mistake the realtek audio device high definition audio bus. Now, the sound of my computer is not working. What should I do?

first go to start-all programs- windows update is at the top of the list follow the prmpts to install microsoft update which is the new version of windows update if microsoft update is all ready installed go there and select custom then let it look for updates
then if it detects missing drivers it will install or guide you on what to do. If you have an r52 laptop then try this link.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_CA/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-58599 the best of luck.
2 if that doesnt work then try this  open device manager right click on the sound device you may have to expand sound, video and game controlers on the tab that comes up select properties then select the drivers tab  select update driver.
do it this way incase the driver installation failed the frist time it may not ask you to update again if you didnt uncheck the box that came up on frist try.
3.find a mother board disk and search the disk using explore for ac97 realtech driver. actually windows update should solve it also try there  FIX IT web site there are many automatied fixes there for your use.

  • Missing drivers after upgrade to Win 7 in HP pavilion dv9500

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 32 bit and everything works except from 2 base system devices listed in device manager that need work. What should I do?

I have the same problem with you but I found out once you upgrade your pc to windows 7 there's always an issue. You'll try calling HP Tech, and they will refer you to PC techinician nearest to you because they said there's something wrong with you HD blah blah or your sound card is gone...need a new one. Well I nearly believe them until I stumbled what's causing my problem and I fixed it myself. Now I have no problem with my sounds missing or audio device missing. My Laptop has voice now non-stop.
The problem that cause wasn't about the hard drive or the sound card but it is about the CONFIGURATION OF YOUR PARENTAL ACCOUNT CONTROL IN WHERE YOUR AUDIO SOUNDS HAS TO BE USE. AFTER I SET MINE TO WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE RIGHT OPTION, SINCE THEN I HAVE NO MORE PROBLEMS ABOUT MY SOUNDS OR AUDIO DEVICE MISSING OR NO AUDIO DEVICE INSTALLED.
SOLUTION; Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts and Family Satefy. Click Parental Control. In the box at the LEFT SIDE you will see GAMING RATING SYSTEMS. Click Gaming Rating System and click administrator box Yes(if come out). In the box you will see some LOGO ICONS for you to choose in which gaming rating you want to use your sounds. This is where you must configure your computer what rating is compatible to use to run sounds in your Windows 7 from Windows Vista or Xp.
The previous option in my Laptop was in the 3rd option ESRB. Then I move it to the 2nd option that the LOGO is written in Chinese Language( Computer Software Rating Regulation). I click OK and then Restart. Since then I have no missing audio or missing sounds problems.
    I hope that helps.

  • No audio device found=no sound on OS9 (MDD Dual 867)

    Hello,
i have a serious problem when running OS 9.2.2 on my dual 867 MDD. There is no sound ! In the "sound panel" i have a message like this ( i translate from french ):" Can't use audio device because it seems that another application use it". That is for "in" and "out" sound. When i try to play a movie in QuickTime, i have a message like this ( approximatly ): " you maybe can't hear the audio of the file because there is no audio device". I don't understand because there is no application running. I try everything: disable all preferences, disable all non-apple extensions, reset the pram, reinstall a clean system on other partition. Always the same problem. It's like that computer don't see an audio device - i mean the internal audio of the mac ! On OS 9.2.2 i'm running QuickTime 6.0.3 of course. When i boot on Mac Os X 10.3.9 and -for example- running "Classic QuickTime" i have sound.
So i don't understand. Someone can help me ? Thanks !
    ( sorry for my english

    To make sure we understand:
when you boot your system direct to OS9, you have no sound.
When you boot to OS X, you have sound.
When you run classic from inside of OSX, you have sound.
Do you have anything like an iMic, 3rd party sound card (there are a couple of complanies that make surround sound cards for Mac), USB speakers, USB headset, or MIDI device connected?

  • How do I reinstall an audio device when its missing?

I accidentally deleted my audio device while troubleshooting problems with my sound (the red X over the volume) and cannot reinstall it.  I know it's an IDT audio codec device from some of the previous diags, but you can't install a driver for a device that doesnt exist.
I have an HP Pavilion dv6-1378r entertainment laptop w/Win7 (64bit).  I have even tried installing an incorrect device - hoping that I could add the correct one later, but once the bad one is deleted, the entire SOUND, VIDEO, GAME CONTROLLERS icon is deleted.
I keep getting error 10 when running the audio troubleshooter.  It tells me NO AUDIO DEVICE INSTALLED.  When I try to install the IDT drivers (with my fingers crossed), it fails.

My built-in system speaker (realtec) and the playback device (altec lansing) are both missing--from the bios and in the device listing (even though there are configurations for these, and the Windows 8 troubleshooter claims they are working as expected. I sent the 3-month old Pavilion G7 laptop to repair--and it was determined that the machine has moisture damage, voiding any warranty; repair would cost MORE than a whole new laptop!
What isn't documented (I have yet to find it) is where and how the sound component (which I think is an integrated part of the motherboard) was so easily affected. Not from any spills. But I DID find a yuky smell and moisture when the device was returned to me--and I have to surmise that if you spill something on the table and you pick up your laptop: TAKE IT APART because there's a little button that wicks liquid up into the cover on the backside/bottom of a laptop.  The device was returned to me with the back cover still off, and enough residual to pull components out of the motherboard. (Thanks, repair folks!)--without that hint, I never would have considered the wicking nature of a little button, and I didn't know to LOOK by disassembling the machine! In fact, I think it would have voided the warranty for me to open it up, but if I had, I would still have a functioning 6 month old laptop!
