IDVD 08 slideshows and music clipping

I'm right to assume the new o8 version allows for more images in slideshows ie 9,000 or so.
Can anyone tell me wether this fixed the slight clip or drop to the audio at the 100th image ?

Is this 99 hardlimit what is causing my problem?
I put together a slideshow with 196 photos and 21 vdeo clips, and added some music to it with "duck audio while playing music" selected.
The iDVD preview shows no problem. The DVD is ok for the first 6:49 minutes,
but then, when the forth videoclip should start:
- the dvd player reset to 00:00,
- the correct video clip is shown
- the audio is from a different videoclip (to come later in the movie sequence)!
From that point on, the audio continues "anticipated" wrt to the video,
up to the end of the audio, leaving the last minutes of the video completely silent.
This happens both on my home DVD player and on my iMac dvd player.
I just checked and indeed the problem happens at slide number 100!
Could you give me some references to this problem?
What is the way out? I guess using iMovie to create the slideshow, instead of relying
on iDVD... that's sad.
Thanks!

  • Apple Tv, can I have a slideshow and music from the iPad at the same time?, Apple Tv, can I have a slideshow and music from the iPad at the same time?

I am having trouble streaming a slideshow and music at the same time to the HDTV via the Apple TV. It seems to just play the one song, even when I hit the playlist selection. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, you should be able to do that easily provided your home network can handle it.
If you are trying to do this by using the Airplay icon you can't.
The correct way to do this is to access the iTunes library via AppleTV using its Computers menu.

  • Slideshow and Music integration

I have edited together a group of songs (with fades, normalizing, etc.) and it is approx. 36 minutes long. It is for a wedding presentation. I have made a slideshow that I want to add to iDVD and I cannot seem to get the slideshow to loop (with a duration of 7-8 sec/picture) that will let the 36 minute AIFF file play in it's entirety. All that I can get to happen is the slideshow to repeat and it starts the music over. I have tried to export the slideshow without music and add it in iDVD; same results. Do I have any chance here? Wedding is next week.
    Thanks

    Easy fix using QuickTime Pro:
Export from iPhoto just the image portion to QuickTime (use the large size).
Open your AIFF file (your audio track) and this new "video" using QuickTime Pro.
From the video track select all (Command-A) and copy (Command-C).
Switch the the AIFF, select all and choose "Add to Selection & Scale" (Edit menu).
Save As and use that new file with iDVD.
You can delete the two originals to free up HD space.

  • Airplay does not work with slideshows and music - get the slides but no music with iPad Air2 and ios 8.1.22

iPad Air 2 with celluar with ios8.1.2 will not airplay with apple tv slideshows with music. I see the slides on the TV but do not hear the music. This works on the iphone 5s with iOS 8.1.2 and with my other iPad which is on iOS7.
This problem was reported on Nov 21, 2014 and other people had reported it prior to me.
When will this be fixed by Apple - it worked in the past and does not work now.
Should i return my iPad Air 2 and get my money back?

Problem seems to be resolved. Should have thought of it myself ;-) thanks so far!

  • Slideshow and music

I have encountered a problem with using the slideshow option in the photo part connected with Itunes and the apple tv 3.
I have set the photomaps in itunes on my pc to share.
In the apple tv I see the maps, can select them and the slideshow works.
Now I want to play some music with the slideshow and I select in the options part of photo's the music folder.
If i select 'random' and set it on, no music is played. If I set random off, one song is played from the selected folder and it repeats that number over and over. No other song can be selected. Forward didnt work.
How can i play selected music during a slideshow?

    No one?

  • Moving Slide Show from iPhoto into iDVD does not capture music

I have created several slide shows in iPhoto. I recently photographed a wedding and created a slide show set to music from my iTunes playlist. When I sent the slideshow to iDVD it picked up the transitions, timing, etc., but did not pick up the music. I am at a loss, as I have tried to drag and drop the music and that won't work.

First double click where it say's slideshow (assuming you have already added your photos to iDvd). If you haven't then see the link and instructions below.
Now insert the audio cd, open it, and drag & drop the audio file directly to the slideshow audio well as in the above example.
    http://www.wonderhowto.com/software/apple-idvd-video/
    Adding sound to a slideshow
Adding a soundtrack to a slideshow can enhance the mood or tone of the slideshow, provide information, or tell a story. You can use a song or entire playlist from your iTunes library, music you composed in GarageBand, and even a voiceover you recorded in GarageBand or some other application. You can also use any audio files that QuickTime supports (including AIFF/AIFC, Audio CD, AAC, MP3, WAV, and MPEG-4).
If you add audio to your slideshow, you can’t set the slideshow to advance manually.
To add a soundtrack to a slideshow:
Double-click the button for your slideshow on the DVD menu to open the slideshow editor.
Click the Media button to open the Media pane, and then click Audio.
Click GarageBand to find songs in GarageBand, or iTunes to find music in your iTunes library.
Drag a playlist or a song from the Audio pane to the audio well (shown below) in the slideshow editor.
You can also drag audio files from another folder on your hard disk or from a connected server to the audio well. The audio well icon changes from a speaker to one that corresponds with the type of file you added.
The slide duration is automatically set to “Fit to Audio” to ensure that the slideshow and soundtrack finish at the same time. If you want to manually change how long each slide stays onscreen, choose the number of seconds from the Slide Duration pop-up menu.
When you do this, the slideshow and music may become out of sync, so it’s important to preview the slideshow to make sure you like it. Click the Preview button at the bottom of the iDVD window, which brings up the iDVD remote control. Click Exit in the remote control to return to the slideshow editor.
Click the Return button to exit the sideshow editor.
If the Slide Duration pop-up menu is set to “Fit to Audio,” and the music is too short for all the slides and transitions, iDVD sets the slide duration to the smallest duration above 1 second that allows it to play or repeat the song completely.
If you add a playlist to the audio well, the songs play in the slideshow in the same order they appear in the playlist. If you want to change the order of songs, do that in iTunes and then add the playlist to your DVD again.
If you add movies that have audio to your slideshow, you can hear this audio when a movie is playing in the slideshow. If your slideshow has a soundtrack, the soundtrack fades out while the movie is playing so that the movie audio can be heard. This is a default setting (”Duck audio while playing movies”) in the slideshow editor, controlled in the Settings dialog.
To delete the audio from a slideshow, simply drag the music icon out of the audio well. To replace the existing audio, drag a new song or playlist into the audio well.

  • Loop slideshow or movie clips

does anyone know how to loop the slideshows and movie clips on IMOVIE 6 just like u do on IDVD??

    Ranjandeep,
    You can't in iMovie.
But if you play your finished movie back with QuickTime you can.
Just output your movie using Share>QuickTime>Full Quality DV.
Then play the movie with QuickTime Player and choose View>Loop.

  • IDVD-Burned DVD and Playback pauses for 30+/- Secs after 99 slides

I upgraded to iLife 09 to avoid this issue and it still happens. I developed a Varsity Slideshow which I am airing at the VB Banquet on 11/15. I burned a DVD (giving a DVD to each of the girls as a gift of the slideshow) and when I play it back right towards the end the music stops and then 8 or so slides @ 3 seconds go by and then the first slide starts to come up and then goes right back to where I left off at the slideshow and music comes back in where it left off in the song and then plays just great. Quality is amazing except for this one BIG ISSUE! Any way about fixing this?

That is true, but I was informed that the "NEW" iLife took care of this issue and it was suppose to have been fixed which is why I upgraded. I haven't used iMovie yet and am note sure if I can do this ASAP since I have to have this completed by Monday of next week in order to burn the 20 CD's with an image on the front. Do you know if I can import entire slideshow into iMovies?

  • I just bought a new macair laptop and it doens't have idvd and I want to make a DVD slideshow with music.  I have an external CD drive. Is there an applicaation that apple has to do this?  IF I buy a used mac, which ones have idvd?

I have a new macair laptop and it does not have idvd. It has a flashdirve instead, so no internal CD drive though I bought an external one. I'm wanted to make a DVD slide show with music and I was told I can't do that in order to play it on a dvd player. Does Mac have an appication to buy that can do the same thing? I thought I saw one for $39.95 but not sure if it will do this. The apple store did not know for sure. Also, if I bought a used mac laptop, which ones will have the idvd installed on it?
    Thanks,
    Phyllis

It is now apparent that iWeb, and iDVD, will no longer be supported by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
Other users have complained to Apple via Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/idvd.html and/or http://www.apple.com/contact/ and have received a boxed copy of iLIfe 11.  Give it a try. In the meantime the following maybe of interest:
iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
All of these issues can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
Apple has announced that iLife is now an unsupported product and those iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the boxed iLife 11 at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought. Personally, if I already didn't have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

  • Where is the best place to make a slideshow with pictures and music on a mac?

Where is the best place to make a slideshow with pictures and music on Macbook Pro?

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:
