IDVD 6: Menu buttons don't show up from iDVD 5 project

I have an iDVD 5 project that I opened in iDVD 6. It consists of 3 slideshows. (There was an issue with it not seeing the iPhoto 6 photos, but that's another issue I posted in the iPhoto forum.)
The buttons that show the slideshows do not show up in iDVD 6. But if I go to map view, the slideshows show up and I can go into them and see all the slides are there and I can preview them. (Well, when it doesn't crash.)
I tried creating new menus but those don't show up either (although, oddly enough, at one point I added a new menu and the title of one of the slideshows showed up!). This project had the Travel theme in iDVD 5.
So in summary: the menu buttons to start the slideshows don't show up when I open the project in iDVD 6. They also don't show up in the title (main) menu when I preview it in iDVD 6. I haven't yet tried actually burning a DVD.
Any suggestions?

The -34506 error. Welcome to a world of frustration and wasted evenings. There are plenty of threads here with suggestions on 'rules' for setting up your slideshows in iMovie, clearing caches, creating new users etc. These have fixed this particular error for some people.

IDVD Sub Menu Button Thumbnails Not 'Sticking'

I've searched on here and there seems to be lots of people having lots of problems but not the problem I'm having.
I have been using iDVD for a number of years and have generally been pretty happy with it. This is the first time I have used iDVD '08 and it has been problem after problem. I have finally almost finished my project and now I'm stuck. I have tried to changed the images on some sub menu buttons but as soon as I go to a different sub menu or view the buttons change back to a generic sub menu icon or folder icon. This has really got me stumped now.
Any ideas?

Have you tried a drag and drop of iDvd's pref file to the trash and restarting your laptop?
com.apple.iDvd.plist
Use the finder to look for this item/s and then drag it to the trash. It often helps to simply restart your computer and try again.

Horizontal Dropdown Menu Buttons DON'T WORK

Any suggestions please?!
I am a novice Flash Developer and I created a horizontal
drowndown menu in Flash with rollover submenus. The dropdown menu
has buttons with Behaviors assigned to "go to webpage". The
published .swf file works fine, links and all. It is only when I
place the menu inside a Dreamweaver DIV that exists over another
image DIV that the buttons don't work. The menu will drop down and
can be rolled over, but it is when I try to click on the buttons to
activate the links that nothing functions.
It is worth mentioning that the buttons have an assigned "Down"
state that doesn't activtate, so I know the buttons are incapable
of even being clicked on. The problem is within Dreamweaver,
not the flash movie menu. Perhaps I am overlooking a widely know
trick to making this work? Am I missing a simple line of HTML??
Anybody have any experience with this?

Rotating Menu - Buttons don't work inside MC's

This is my first post here and it would be great if I could
have your help to solve this little problem:

I'm creating a small animation in which I have a clock-like
rotative menu.
I found the code for this in the internet and made some few
adjustments (mainly just took somethings I didn't needed out)
In my file I have 6 circles that are all movieclips that make
part of a circular menu that rotates everytime you click on one of
the circles. Those movieclips are not on the stage, only on the
library, and are being "pulled" into action by the actionscript.
I need those movieclips to act as menu buttons, so I made a
button inside each one of them.
The problem is that the buttons don't work. They don't do
what they are suppose to (load another movieclip). The solution
must be quite simple because it doesn't make sense not to work, but
I'm unable to get it...
In the original file they worked as buttons that linked to an
URL but I removed that because I didn't need it. Just need them to
act as normal buttons and play another MC...
Do you have any idea why this happens?
Does it have anything to do with the fact that the circle
movieclips that contain the buttons are not actually on the stage?!
The code I'm using in the buttons is rather simple:
on(release){
movie1.play();

I appreciate the time you took to try to help me!
I only have 1 frame in my stage, and its the one that
contains the actioscript code.
I also have on stage the MC i'm trying to make the button
play. The first frame of that MC is empty and has a stop, so that
its not visible at first.
Then I wanted that when you click the button (the onde that
is inside the MCs that are being "pulled" by the code I sampled) it
would play that MC on stage.
The code I'm using in the burron is pretty simple:
on(release){
movie1.play();
I've tried to put "_root" before, like this: "_root.movie1"
but it doesn't work as well.
Any other idea?
Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that the

IDVD 08 crashes when previewing slide show imported from iPhoto

I've created a slideshow in iPhoto 08 and transferred it to iDVD 08 using the share menu. It appears in iDVD as a movie and I can add it to an iDVD project in the normal way. Everything appears fine but when I try to preview the slideshow in iDVD, iDVD crashes. The slideshow is stored as a Quicktime movie and I can play it using Quicktime.

I'm having the exact same problem. From iPhoto under Share I select Send to iDVD. In iDVD the slideshow appears, but when I click on it iDVD crashes.
I've also tried exporting from iPhoto which creates a Quicktime .mov file. That file then appears as a movie in iDVD under the media tab. But again, when I drag it into my movie and try to play it iDVD crashes.
Other movies imported into this same project from iMovie play just fine, so I was also looking for a way to import the slideshow's Quicktime file into iMovie in hopes of exporting it from iMovie to iDVD in a different format, but the file is not selectable in iMovie, which I also found puzzling.
I did this all the time in the old iDVD and really hope to get this working again.....

In my xcelsius, i have option to make it to cross-tab.
when i use that data( data above by manual) to excel spreadsheet. The data will change to

But when i load the data from web service,It doesn't show anything.
(when i use list view to show data from web server, i see all data)
How can i load data from web service and show the data like manually?

IDVD 6 is showing help from iDVD 5

The install of iLife 6 went OK, but now when I click on iDVD 6 help I get the help from iDVD 5. I have no idea how to fix that. Thanks for your help with help.

Markers not showing up from emailed project file.

I couldn't find an asswer to this but for some reason the clip markers that someone painstakingly put in a Premiere project are now not showing up on my end so i can continue working on the project.
The project file was uploaded to Creative Cloud and i then downloaded it.
I have a notion as to why this is, but I'm hoping someone can confirm this and possibly offer a solution to help us out.
I'm working with .mts files as I shoot onto AVCHD. So, with those .mts files are corresponding .xmp files in the same folder. My theory is that the markers get written into the .xmp file and not into the project file somehow. But interestingly, the markers that were put onto sequences and multi-cam interviews remained.
Im hoping that if I replace the .xmp files they will show up again. Can anyone offer some advice here?

As noted, Premiere's new Export Markers feature works with only one source at a time. When the Timeline has focus, that could either be the sequence's markers (if no track items are selected) or the markers from a single track item (if only one is selected).
Unless Jim knows some trick that I'm unaware of, there's no way in PPRO to export the markers from all the constituent clips in one go.
If you'd like the ability to export markers from multiple project items, please submit a feature request. The more, the merrier.
The good news is that if you have PPRO CC, you also have Prelude CC, and as noted that app supports exporting markers from multiple selected assets. It gives you the option of writing a separate file for each asset or collecting them all in one file.
CaptainPincone: would you elaborate on what you mean when you say
"the in and out points did not match the markers in and out points" -- when you export markers with a clip is selected in the sequence, the timecodes in the marker export file correspond to the markers' timecodes in the master clip, not in the sequence. (If you want the option of having the sequence timecodes used in this scenario, that would be another feature request.)
"there was no information such as the marker's "Title", or "Comments"? I was the tester on this feature and know of no bugs where any marker's content is not written to the marker export file.

Buttons don't show up in a DVD player...

I have a strange problem,
I made a menu with 3 buttons and an overlay, everything works well when I simulate the menu, the highlights shows up but then, when i built the disc, the buttons highlights won't appear. I can't even use the remote of a DVD player to navigate because no highlights are here !!!!
on the other menus I have no problems, the problematic menu is the first one and it comes after an intro track. I also add a music track to it.
What's happening with the highlights ???

actually i'm working on a ntsc project,
the files are all .m2v
the project start with a simple menu (photoshop file with background image and highlights). I really feel like there is a bug on this one because only the first menu has the problem : the highlight doesn't show up except when I select the button, then I have the selected color which appear for a second.
It could be enough if this dvd had to be read on a computer but it's a real problem when you need to play it on a dvd player.
I used PS CS2 to make the menu
my highlights are 3 crowns draw with red and blue, I used the advanced color mode in DVD SP, the buttons appear in DVD SP as white when selected and yellow when activated...it works fine in the simulation and then no white selected state works on the built DVD...
I thought that i messed up with the loop point so i checked and it should really work.
to answer your question, i can activate the buttons but i don't see which one i activate as the highlights doesn't show up.
I need to deliver asap and i'm in big trouble.

IDVD 6: Menu Buttons Highlight Incorrectly

I've been trying to take two podcasts and burn them to a DVD. Initially I tried starting directly with iDVD 6, but it wouldn't encode the second podcast. I then started with iMovie to encode the clips before I added them to iDVD. The podcasts are widescreen, so I selected a theme that would also be widescreen.
For the first DVD I burned, my widescreen portable DVD player interpreted the main menu as 4:3, cutting off some of the text of the menu options. I tried playing the DVD on a computer (not sure if it was in Windows or on the Mac), and although the menus were displayed as 16:9, the highlighting of the buttons is way off the actual buttons. Another computer's DVD player application highlighted the buttons correctly.
After reading some of the tips involving myDVDEdit, I copied the burned image files to a folder, changed the files to read and write, and changed the settings on the menus to the most flexible 16:9 option (auto Pan & Scan and Letterbox). When I burned a DVD with these changes, the widescreen portable DVD player would display the DVD with black bars all around (but without cutting anything off). On a computer, the button highlighting still does not match the actual location of the buttons.
Are there any other settings that I can adjust to (1) fill the entire screen on my portable DVD player and (2) align the button highlighting to the actual buttons? Thanks in advance.

Interactive PDF - Buttons don't show on mobile/ipad

I'm creating an ebook. I have two issues I need help with regarding buttons and interactivity.
1) How do I link an image to a later page?
For example, I'm introducing contributors--but want to offer readers the ability to fast track to their bio page (at the end of the document) and weblinks...
2) Why are my interactive buttons not showing up on mobile or ipad?
I'm trying to include social icons that link to contributors social channels. Why do these show up and work in Adobe Acrobat Pro--but not on my iphone and ipad?

Copied menu buttons don't work ones actived

I've got a kind of jukebox.
I have a menu with 16 buttons and each button is linked to a other menu.
The 16 menu's are identical but the background audio is different and the default button is also changed.
When I jump from my my first menu/song to a other one it freezes on the default button (audio keeps running). I can choose only next or previous menu with the NEXT button on the remote control but I can't go up or down etc in the Apple DVD player of in my consumer DVD player. My mouse could select a other menu but the highlight isn't following...
The first music menu is dooing everything ok... The 15 others are a copy of the first & only the audio is different, settings are identical.
Anybody a idea..

When you copied and past the menus and buttons did you set the jumps for the new menus and buttons and what you wanted them to do? Take a look in the connections view for the copied menus.
It also sounds like you need to set the navigation for the buttons, which is why mousing worked but using remotes did not.
You need to assign navigation between buttons

Back button and menu button don't work after spilling beer on it. How do I fix this?

A few months ago on a night out beer was spilt on my iPod, I let it dry out and it still worked fine.
However a couple of weeks later my back button started to play up, only working some of the time I pressed it, and then stopped working all together.
My menu buttong has also recently started to play up, with me having to press it and hold it down for it to work, and this only working some of the time. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? Or even how do I send it off to be fixed? My iPod is still within its one year warranty.

Songs don't show up from iTunes Apple ID

Hello. I just got a new computer for my room and my computer broke but right before that I got a new Apple ID, so i downloaded some songs( like $20 worth) then my computer crashed. So now my old computer downstairs( i am currently on) is working and i can't find how to get my songs onto iTUNES. HELP ME!!!!!!

You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so.
