IDVD 6 - new themes missing

I have just bought and installed iDVD 6 on both my computers. Before I installed it, I installed it on my brothers computer. He had all the new ´06-themes ´but I didn´t get them. I only have the ´05!! Does anyone know how this can happen??
G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

You might have to uninstall '06 and reinstall to get the themes. Your original installation probably did not copy the files from the installation DVD to your hard drive.

  • IDVD 6 - some themes missing music

I recently installed the Leopard OS to try and fix the iMovie problems I was having (didn't work). Now some of the themes in iDVD6 that should have music do not. I tried the "guest" user to see if the problem was with my files. That didn't work. I also tried reinstalling and deleting the "plist" from the library and restarting. That didn't fix the problem either. I do not have iLife08, just 06. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Sharon

    hi Sharon:
This maybe stating the obvious, but have you attempted to re-install iLife 06?
Did you at least run a permissions repair after installing Leopard?

  • Missing "new" themes

I just got a new mac. I used the iDvd application on it once and was successful in making my DVD. I went back into the program earlier this week and saw that all themes from iDVD 5-7 were missing. Any suggestions on how to fix this glitch?

    Any of these help?

  • IDVD themes missing

I have iDVD 7.0.4 on my MacBook Pro.  I'm trying to open the program.  As it opens, a display pops up that says, "Loading themes".  After that, iDVD closes.  I recently moved my Themes folder from the desktop to the iDVD-CNTRL+Click-Show package contents--plugins- and created a folder called "Themes".  Should the folder be called "Themes" or something else?  I suspect that's my issue.

I am encountering a similar problem with iDVD on my new MBP with Mountain Lion.  I installed iDVD as a custom install from my iLife 11 original disk.  With that I had themes 6 and 7 only with the older themes greyed out. I clicked on one of the greyed out themes and received the message that I could get an update, but it goes to the apps store and simply stops there.
So I copied the themes 1-5 from the Application Support/iDVD/Themes folder that I have on my older MBP with Snow Leopard.  I then copied those themes into the Themes folder on my new MBP.  I did a repair permissions from disk utility and rebooted.  However when I open up iDVD themes from 6 and 7 are ok but the old themes all appear just as a yellow triangle.  There seems to be a broken link there somewhere.
I tried downloading update 7.0.1 and opened it with Pacifist.  There were only Themes 5,6,7, in there. I tried adding themes 5 out of 7.0.1 into the Application Support/iDVD/Themes folder on my MBP with Mountain Lion, tried repairing permissions (none to repair) rebooted and then tried iDVD, but while themes 6 and 7 are ok, it does not recognise the Themes 5 folder or any of the older themes.
Any suggestions as to what I can do next?   Philip

  • Howto create a new theme?

Does anyone know how to make a new theme? I know you can adjust an existing one, but how can you make something like the revolutions theme where you design your own animation for the menu?

Welcome jdboer to the  iDVD boards..

no simple task, as a start, read these multi-part articles.. :
    http://creativemac.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=31388 (four parts)
    http://digitalproducer.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=29612 (three parts)
esp. those '3D effects' as in Revolution need elaborated tools as Motion (part of FinalCutPro suite)
you can 'emulate' motion menus by adding 'movies' as background pics to an existing menu ..

  • Making movie project in iDVD without a theme - still having trouble. help!

I am trying to make a movie in iDVD without a theme. I am following previous instructions but having a problem. I open up iDVD, create a new project. Pick a theme, then select the map view. When the screen opens I drag my movie into the first box which says "Drop content here to play....". I also loop the movie to play over. I am not able to move forward with burning a disc because there is a yellow triangle warning in the main theme box which says "menu contains no buttons". Nothing in HELP addresses this as far as I could find. Since I don't want to use menus and just want to burn my movie, how do I get around this problem. I finally decided to try and burn a disc anyway and iDVD quit during encoding process about half thru. Help....

Thanks Geoff - Your suggestion seems to be what I am looking for. However, halfway thru encoding/burning iDVD app quits on me. I don't know why that is happening??????

  • How to get iDVD on new Mac.

Just bought a new Macbook air 11" running on Os X 10.7.2 and a superdrive so i could burn DVD's.... but no iDVD!
I have it now and it works perfectly....after a little research.
This is where i started, very helpful:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=my12sf_2TFI
You will need to find a mac (yours/family/friends) that do have iDVD. Enable "file sharing" in system preferences on your mac and the mac with iDVD....this will help if you've got problems doing that:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUThAcIBWfQ
So i did everything as per the first youtube clip however i encountered some problems:
    1) couldnt find Library and thus application support. Found it was a hidden folder (press shift/command/g to get "go to folder" and type ~/Library and its all in there)
    2) still could not transfer themes
So what i did was download some free themes from www.dvdthemepak.com/
    After doing this iDVD worked!
Click on the grey themes below those that are available and iDVD autamatically updates them.
To get the themes that were in the original files of iDVD, i went to application support (directions above) and found that an iDVD had autimatically been added. I simply transfered the contents of the folder iDVD 6 (as per the first youtube clip) into this autimatically created folder.
Very long winded i know, but saves buying iLife and handing over more unnecessary $$$ to the very same people that removed iDVD in the first place.
    Stickin it to the man!!!

It works; you need to buy an iLife 08 or newer DVD and perform a custom install.

  • Downloaded A New Theme But It's Not There

I just got a Blackberry Curve 3G 9330 and I went to the Blackberry App World and purchased a theme for it.  It downloaded after I paid for it and after completion of the install I followed the instructions to select the new theme. From the main screen, I selected "Options" -> "Display" -> "Screen Display".  When I scrolled down to the "Theme" section of the "Screen Display" screen the Theme was not there, just the one that came with the phone.
Is there something I missed?  Can anyone help.  The theme I purchased is the "Purple Theme for Blackberry Curve 1.0" from Frank M. Semeraro.
    Thanks,
    JoeMat55

    Hi, Joe,
If I am not mistaken, you might have purchased a theme that is for a device running OS 5.  Your device is running OS 6 and themes for OS 5 will not run on those devices with the OS 6.  I looked in the Blackberry App World at the theme you are writing about, and the author states it is for devices running OS 4.7 and higher, but he is wrong.  The theme will run for OS 4.7 to OS 5.  This has been a big mistake by a lot of theme makers.  I create themes on the side for myself and a few others and have noticed there are not a lot of OS 6 themes out there just yet.  The Blackberry Theme Builder for OS 6 is still in a beta testing phase and there should be some OS 6 themes soon.  Perhaps you can call the company's customer service to get a refund or credit.  Hope this helps.

  • How come my text disappears when I choose a new theme?

I'm new to keynote and I've imported a powerpoint presentation and I want to change the theme. When I do this, my text disappears. Can anyone help?

sometimes this can appear to happen if the text is in a "body" box but the master slide doesn't have the body box turned on by default.
Once your text goes missing, click on the slide inspector and then on the Appearance tab. See if the title or body are turned off, and check them to turn them back on.
Also, when you choose the new theme, use the theme choose, don't just pick a theme from the list, and when the chooser comes up, UNCHECK the retain changes to theme defaults. This should force your ppt into the new theme more correctly.
If your text is still missing, then there's something else going on here.

  • IDVD 1 & 2 Themes

I have looked through several articles posted about this but I still can't seem to get the old iDVD 1 & 2 Themes. I have tried reinstaling from my iLife 3 disk which has iDVD 3 on it. But it doesn't install. It greys out iDVD on it when I try. I moved iDVD 6 into the trash when doing this... still Grey. I tried using my origional 7 disk (from my old iMac with the 2 install disks and 5 software restore disks with the wierd dots) that won't install on my mac at all. Basically I have the origional disk from my old mac which have iDVD 1 &2 (I think), an origional iLife 3, Origional iLife 4, Origional iLife 5 and iLIfe 6 discs/DVDs. No luck. Can anyone help me?

... quoting iDVD specialist Fred in that linked thread:
.. That seems to imply the old iDVD 2 themes may not be usable in the current iDVD products. ...
plus, usually, you are not able to install any older versions of an iApp, when a newer one is on the same harddrive... you could go thru a painstaking long process by erasing the actual versions&all components, install the older ones, rename them (iDVD_old) to avoid any overwriting process, install the newer, and work with both/all versions ...
.. just for some older themes? Fred mentioned in his reply, how to "get" the older background templates...

  • How do I install new themes for keynote purchased throught the app store?

I have downloaded some Keynote themes fron a site but I have no way (that I can see) to install them. I've done extensive googling and I always find instructions that say that I have to add the downloaded themes (.kth files) into the ~/Library/Application Support/Keynote/Themes folder. However, I have no such directory.
I purchased Keynote via the App Store. Could this be the reason why I don't have this directory on my hard disk? How does one install new themes then?
    Thank you.
While I am at it and since there must be a lot of Keynote experts around, I'll ask another question about a problem that is driving me crazy. I'm one of those thousands of new converts and I have a lot of old PowerPoint files that took me a lot of time to create. I'm trying to import them into Keynote but some of them are giving me trouble. The problem comes when I try to change the theme (I just want to change the background). When I have complex slides involving many objects, if I change the theme all these objects abandon their original positions and everything becomes garbled. I think this has to do with the aspect ratio of the slides but I haven't found any way of fixing it. No matter what size I choose in the Theme Chooser, the result is the same.
I would really appreciate any help you people can offer with any of these problems. Thanks in advance.

OK, I'll answer myself since I found an answer to my first question. It was right here in the forums. I'll post a link to it in case someone reads this thread looking for an answer:

Now, if I could just find an answer for my second question...

  • How to Fix: Color CC Only Syncing Old Saved Kuler Themes to Illustrator, Not Any New Themes I Make/Save?

When I open the Color Themes panel in Illustrator CC (2014.1.0 Release), and click the "refresh" button, it only pulls in the themes I had saved on the web back when it was "Kuler." No new themes that I make (that show up on the web under "My Themes") sync with Illustrator. How do I get the new themes to sync?
(I've already logged in & out, restarted the programs and the computer, to no avail.)
    Help?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am running OSX (10.9.5), and I just installed the latest security update & restarted. Still, it doesn't seem to resolve my problem, unfortunately.
Within the Color Themes palette, it still has my old themes, but when I refresh, the new ones don't show up, and it doesn't mention any error.
Incidentally, when I open the "Illustrator"/Application menu and scroll to where it lists my Adobe ID email, in the fly-out menu it says it wasn't able to sync my settings because an "Unknown Error Occurred." However, nothing seems to be out of order when I click in to manage the sync settings.
    Thanks,
    Rachel

  • What should be the directory structure for new theme

I want to create a new theme for my BSP pages. Currently all my BSP are using /sap/public/bc/ur/Design2002/themes/sap_tradeshow/ur/ur_ie6.css for styling. I want to create a new theme named testTheme and want to call my bsp pages with sap-themeRoot=testTheme appended to the URL.
I  am not sure under which directory should I create the new directory. Should I create a  “testTheme” directory to “Design2002” or “ur” or “sap_tradeshow” directory in the MIME repository structure?

    Hi Amit,
Run the program BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS using SE38 and export the whole theme that you want to base your new theme on (located in /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/Design2002/themes) to a local folder.
Make your changes locally and then use the program once again to import the new theme folder into the MIME Repository (for example /SAP/ZBSP_THEME/myNewTheme).
You can find further details in the weblog - /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/04/12/bsphowto-css-hints--custom-design-for-your-bsp-applications
