Idvd 6 won't play 1-260 photo's burned only 1-99

I had made a slide show with IDVD 6 and have about 260 photo's on it. After the movie is burned from IDVD, I play it on the home player and it stops at photo 99 and stop as there is nothing else to play. It play on the MAC but pauses at 99 and then continues. I'VE TRYED MANY BURNES BUT THE SAME HAPPENS!!!!!!!! In project info it says TRACKS 3 of 99 and MENUS 1 of 99. All I want is for it to play from beginning to the end. WHAT IS HAPPENING AND WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?????????? PLEASE HELP!!!!
imac g5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Slides in a slideshow created by iDVD are treated as Chapters and only 99 Chapters per Track are allowed. Prior to iDVD 6, iDVD could only produce slideshows with 99 slides (the Chapter limitation). In iDVD 6 Apple created a 'hack that makes it possible to link together many 99 slide slideshows into a longer presentation.
The PROBLEM is that many DVD players don't like the 'hack' and will freeze or pause after 99 slides.
You have two choices: go to a 'big-box' store that has lots of DVD players on display and try your DVD to see which players will play past the 99th slide and then buy that player, or create a slideshow as a movie in iMovie.

I have an iPod nano 6th generation and I downloaded 3 music videos but they won't play on my iPod. They only play on my laptop/iTunes. How can I get it to work? I know that my iPod should take music videos because there is a pre-made playlist called "Music videos". Can anyone help me please????

You can sync the music videos, but they won't play on your 6G Nano, because it does not support video playback. Sorry.

  • Burned DVD on iDVD. Won't play on DVD player

I burned a slide show on iDVD and when I put the disk in my DVD player or back in my computer it won't play.

    Hi
My thoughts on this - this occures to me when
    • Using Cheap brands of DVD e.g. Memorex and NoName are bad choice for Video-DVDs (might work as Data-DVDs)
    I use Verbatim (only)
    • DVD type used - I use now DVD-R as they also play on older DVD-players - NEVER +/-RW as they are known problem makers
    • BURN SPEED - I now set down burn speed to x2 or x4 = Less burn errors = Plays on Mac that made the burn and so on PCs - Works so much better

  • DVD created in iDVD '08 won't play

    Hey guys,
I'm kind of a newbie with the whole iDVD thing (it's my first time using it). I created a movie on a DVD9 (dual layer DVD) because it was too big for a regular DVD, according to iDVD. Ok, so I insert the disk after creating the project with the revolution theme and click on burn. It took about 45 minutes (for about an hour and a half worth of movies) and spit the DVD out when the timer said less than one minute remaining and it still said Multiplexing and Burning. I tried re-inserting the disk and waiting about 30 minutes but nothing happened.
So, I tried putting it in my DVD player and it wouldn't read it. I put it in my desktop PC running XP and it said the disk was blank. I put it back in my Mac and it played fine, like a normal DVD would (opened DVD player and started playing).
I thought I might have done something wrong so I created a new project (with the same theme) and added both movies (and waited for them to encode). I then burned it on another DVD9 and had the same thing happen (spit out with less than a minute left, won't play on DVD and blank on PC).
What should I do? Should I delete iDVD and reload it from my Leopard disk? Is there a setting I'm not checking? BTW, I left the mac alone on my kitchen table to do all the burning (no surfing or any other interaction while burning). Once I even got a kernel panic (the third time I tried it).
Oh, and when I inserted the disk into my Macbook and hit Get Info, it says the disk is only 3.63GB (I can see the TS_Video and TS_Audio files). Why did it tell me it was too big for a DVD5 then?
System: Macbook 2.2GHz, OSX 10.5.2 Leopard, 4GB Memory, 56GB free space on HD.

    Those are some good suggestions.
I'm going to check the encoding quality on my machine. I think I'm using best quality.
I have double the 25gb free space on my drive, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I didn't use iMovie. I edited the videos in Sony Vegas 8.0a Professional on my PC to encode my m2t files to MPEG-2 and transfered the MPEG-2 files to my mac's desktop and imported from there (drag and drop into the main page of the theme). The files play fine in Quicktime before importing them and the DVD plays fine on my mac after burning it.
I did choose to burn at highest speed, tho. I'll change that.
I'm using Memorex DVD+R DL (they've always worked flawlessly on my PC). I also have Memorex DVD-R DVD5s, but the program said it was too big for a DVD5 (the project is 4.8 GB on disk yet the DVD only had 3.6 GB of data on it).
I'll try the disk image and then burn using Toast or Nero on my PC and see if that works.

  • IDVD disk won't play on the computer that created it.

    I am running iM6.0.3 on a G5 MAC with OS X 10.3.9.
My problem is that after I create a movie with iMovie, and burn it to a DVD disk using iDVD, the G5 Mac that I created it on cannot then read the disk. It just ejects it. No disk icon ever appears on screen. However, the DVD disk plays fine on my consumer DVD player, even my Windows PC, and also on other Apple computers. Commercial DVD disks play fine on my G5. It just won't play the disks that I create on it.
One other factor: I am burning these disks to Hewlett-Packard DVD-R 16x disks. I have heard that there can be a problem burning to 16x disks on iDVD that is rated for 4x, but I have had no difficulties that I am aware of. I am wondering if perhaps my G5 cannot read the 16x disk on playback, and I should be using 4x. ( I just don't have any 4x disks handy at the moment.) But then, why would other apple computers and DVD players be able to play my 16x disks?
Any suggestions as to what might be the problem? Any comments would be much appreciated.

    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Rich,
    Just my comments:
DVD issues have plagued the Mac OS since 10.0. I have the same problem. DVD's I created on my machine are the same regardless of how they are created (data DVD or "Movie"). When it doesn't immediately eject them back out it will ask me what I want to do with the blank DVD I have inserted yet another machine plays them just fine. A DVD contains two "tracks" one is about 1 GB± and is unaccessible to users with consumer products (including most "pro" apps) and contains the information for the various types of DVD Players to know what to do with the data including the manufacturers info i.e. type of DVD (RAM, ROM, -R -RW etc) as well as read/write speeds. One very important piece of information is the time-code. DVD uses SMPTE time-codes and Mac OS X as you've experienced can write them but cannot seem to read them properly, that's why they work on the other machines and not the one that created them. Even if the Mac isn't writing them 100% the DVD playback SW in most set top boxes can compensate for this error as they are expecting data from all types of SW and burners. I am assuming the "other" macs are most likely G4's as this is my experience.
Write speeds should not be as much as a factor as they appear to be. Trying to burn 16X to a 4X disc would be a problem (most burning SW would prevent this anyway) but 4X to a 16X disk should not. I have tried every disc speed and setting and it is always the same.
This is what I know on this subject. It also appears to be the reason for the 60 min limitation as well. Apple's replacing DVD drives at an extremely high rate and many of them are most likely returning to service in another machine as there is nothing mechanically wrong with them. Apple care does not test the equipment the same way as the manufacturer/remanufacture and most Apple HW tests indicate they are in working order as well, however if they can duplicate the issue they replace the drive. You can have them replace the drive but the problem will most likely persist.
At this point my only hope is that Leopard resolves these issues but because they've persisted for so long I am not getting my hopes up.
I can't install 10.3.9 on this machine but I am curious if you went back to a QuickTime version prior to 7 if that makes any difference. You will lose some functionalities here as QT is actually part of the OS and updates have added functionality that was previously only available in 10.4 such as it allows the video apps to use the graphics card instead of the processor whenever possible so you will notice a slow down and possibly an elimination of "real time" editing in most apps and some of the Quartz video effects will no longer work.
Sorry I don't have any solution but am quite certain this is what the problem is.
    Sweet Polly

  • I updated my iPhone and now none of the music on it will play. When I sync, I can change teh music selections on it, but they all won't play and are greyed out. Only the Playlists, Artists, Albums are black font, but all songs are grey and won't play

I recently updated my iPhone 3G to 5.0 (9A334) and it was somehow interrupted during restoration, or at least that is what it tells me. But it keeps making a new restore and adding it to a list, but never gets through without getting interrupted. anyways, I kind of got through all that, but now all the music on the iPhone won't play and is greyed out. I had some APPs greyed out, but they are not as important. Music is a huge investment in my life and this part of it has gone silent. I SYNC with my iMac. Resyncing doesn't help. I can change the selections, but can never get them to play on the iPhone.
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue, i restored my phone to Factory settings, even tried restoring it to my backup, half of my music bought from itunes won't play on my iphone and i'm super annoyed, this only happened once i updated to ios 7.2 so i assume its another glitch to go with my imessages not sending, getting sick of this.

  • IDVD disks won't play in home DVD player. They used to

    Hi, can you help
I'm using iDVD 5, iMovie 5, saving as disk image, mounting image and burning using Toast 6 to firewire LaCie D2 DVD burner. I have done this many times using same configuration, but not for a while. The disks created will play in the Mac, but not in the home DVD player.
I have tested the burner using a peecee and it creates other types of DVDs OK. This has got me stumped because I don't seem to be doing anything I haven't done before. I've tried different disks, cleaned the DVD player, everything. In addition I have tried burning disks from some old disk images I had saved from previous movie creations. Same result. Is the problem likely to be with Toast?

Still no luck. I have tried using some Verbatim -Rs and have the same results, if not worse, since the disks created won't mount in my Mac either.
In answer to klaus, yes the Mac does recognise the LaCie drive.
I'm starting to think the problem is with iDVD or iMovie since I have tried creating a disk image, copying to my Peecee, running through Shrink to generate a 'clean' series of Video_TS, Audio_TS folders, and burnt them from my peecee, which still doesn't work, even though I know that older and other movies play OK in my DVD player.

  • After downloading newest android update video won't play from within photos.

After updating to the latest Android software, the video playback will not work and the error message "Can't play video" appears when trying to access video from within the photos section, they are visible as thumbnails and first frames. .. They can still be played back from the videos section but it used to work on both. This has affected all videos that are on the phone. Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks,

spoke to online help today, they told me to backup my phone carry out software repair using pc companion. it did nothing but wipe my apps, the problem on mine comes from it won't allow films to be downloaded to the memory card, it will however download to the phone, which is crap seeing how small the onboard memory is. i've submitted an email and no doubt in a week or 2 there will be another update to sort this. it seems that none of these updates are tested properely as when my xperia z updated once you lost loadspeaker till the came up with a patch file.
my xperia z1 will play vids but when i updated there was about 40gb from video unlimited saved on the memory card, which immediately came up out of rental.... which is a pile of crap seeing as they were bought films. lets keep fingers crossed this is fixed quick.

  • IDVD project won't play audio in media player

I created a movie in Final Cut Pro 6 and used iDVD version 7.04 to burn the video project. DVD player on my MAC plays it fine. When I try to play it in Windows Media Player, there is no audio, only video. In exploring the CD, there is an Audio TS folder with no files and a Video_TS folder with files. This is my first time using iDVD.

    Welcome to the forums!
When I try to play it in Windows Media Player
Why are you using the defunct (no longer supported by Microsoft for the Mac) Windows Media Player?
You should be using the DVD Player on your Mac (which you say works), or a third-party player like VLC.
In exploring the CD, there is an Audio TS folder with no files and a Video_TS folder with files
I assume you mean the DVD and not a CD.
The Audio TS Folder will be empty unless you specifically burnt a Music DVD. The Video TS Folder contains all the files required to make up your DVD, i.,e. titles, chapter headings, the actual movie etc.
So it appears that everything is as it should be!

  • COMPLETED iDVD PROJECT WON'T PLAY IN MY DVD PLAYER?

i have completed project in iMovieHD, sent to iDVD and tryed QT as well.

Am i exporting incorrectly? My Mac is new and I can't figure it out.

  • IDVD selectively won't recognize .mp4 format - how to burn for dvd player?

    Hi -
I'm trying to burn a .mp4 movie for my gf's family so they can watch it on their TV instead of my tiny comp. After trying DiskUtility and iTunes (both to no avail, DU wouldn't even allow me to select a .mp4 format to burn on the DVD; iTunes burnt the movie, but it doesn't play on the DVD player ...). I thought I'd try iDVD, but it won't recognize the movie I'd like to burn - says the format is unrecognized. Tried with another movie, same format (.mp4) and it worked just fine.
I'm really at a loss - I didn't expect it would be so difficult to burn a DVD! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Rax

Alright, my results correspond with Russ' hypothesis: both videos I tried are in the same format & at the same FPS, the only difference b/w them is the audio. The one that worked is Stereo (L R), the one that does not is the 5.1.
Unfortunately, I do not have Quick Time Pro, I just have QTP 10.1 that came w/ Lion (& an older version that I added b/c it allows playback speed control). Here, the export options are:
    480p
    720p
    iPod touch & iPhone 3GS
iPad, iPhone 4 & Apple TV
    Audio only
None of these were an obvious choice to me, any suggestions? I've heard something about "Toast", would this be an easier / better option?
Thank you for on-going help. Very much appreicated.
    Kind regards,
    Rax

  • IDVD autoplay movie won't play in DVD player

My IDVD movie won't play in a DVD player when created in autoplay mode. It plays fine on my computer both in preview and on my computer's DVD player program and it works fine if I create a menu and button, just not if I create it in autoplay mode. I've tried it on my work compter and three DVD players and it won't play in any of them. Can anyone help, please?

    Hi Sue
    Thanks for responding.
I used a 16x Maxwell DVD-R. The same kind of disc worked fine with the movie when I had a menu.
    I'm afraid I don't know what a Patchburn is.

    Hi JosefK:
    Welcome to discussions.
Did you use a Data DVD by chance?
It needs to be a DVD-R with iMovie 4.
Are you using an external with Patchburn?

I don't know what I did, but the timeline won't play the video now in CS4, only the audio.  It scrubs ok.

  • Newly installed OS4 won't play all songs

    Hey all,
I just installed OS4 and now it won't play all my songs. It only plays about 50% of my library. I compared some of the songs that it skips to some that it plays and they have the same file types and details and such, so I don't know what's happening since they all played when I had 3.1.3.
    Any ideas?

I might be seeing something smilar.
I've got an iPod touch (4th gen.) to which I've downloaded 5.878 songs, all via iTunes Match. (I've deleted all music from it and redownloaded it via iTunes Match.)
Now when I try to play playlists containing these songs, the triangular "play" icon shows in the status bar and the "pause" button shows near the bottom of the Music app, all indicating that there should be music playing. The counter remains at 0:00, however, and nothing can be heard, whether I try to use the iPod's internal speaker, the headphone jack or the dock connector.
If I switch to the Artist tab and make a selection, it plays fine. Same with the Songs tab and the Albums tab. It seems to be only the Playlists tab that refuses to actually play.
I've tried rebooting the iPod touch, without success. I've also tried restoring from a backup, with no success. I'm at a loss for what else to try.
