Idvd 7.1 wont import 1080i60 1280*720, green  background and pink squares appear. If I export h264, it works fine.

This kind of export works fine in idvd 7.0.4 in osx 10.5.8. Did anything change?
It will import a 1080i exported QT, when I don't change the size. The sequence setting is 1440*1080, but when exported at native size the file will not play at 16:9 in dvd player.  When I have previoulsy exported 1080i60 1440*1080, with reducing the size to 1280*720, idvd was OK and the DVD looked great (aspect ratio) on both the TV  and computer (DVD Player).  When I don't change the size, it looks great on a TV but DVDplayer on the computer is forcing 4:3.
Neil

I have also been experiencing the problem of green and pink squares in iDVD preview. However, having discovered it does not affect the finial dvd, I have decided not to persue the problem. I have spent many hours on this and also many trips to the Genius Bar and achieved nothing. At the end of the day, it works, so leave well alone.

Problem on PC: During import, I can locate the sources folder however the photo do not display. Was working fine. All file types, Lightroom is no longer recognising the images to import, The panel that usually displays them remains empty.  Try using backup versions, removing software that could conflict , still no joy, has anyone had this problem?

    Did you follow this procedure?
Our iTunes guru Terence Devlin advises the following:
    1. Quit iTunes
    2. Drag the iTunes folder from your internal hd - located in ~/Music folder - to your external hd. DO NOT delete the original one from your internal hd... yet!
    3. When the transfer is complete, press and hold the Option(alt) key and fire up iTunes.
    4. A "Choose iTunes Library" window will come up. Click on the "Choose Library" button.
    5. Navigate to where the iTunes folder is located in the external hd.
    6. Within the iTunes folder, select the iTunes Library file and click Choose...
That's it. iTunes will now display all your playlists, songs, movies, podcasts etc. At this point, should you wish, you can delete the iTunes folder from the internal hd to free up space.

Hi, please can someone help me?
Have just returned home from abroad where my iphone 4 worked perfectly.
Now at home it wont receive wifi. It picks up the signal which shows in phones display but cant connect to the internet. Computers and ipod all working fine so I assume it must be a problem with the phone.
Have checked that wifi is turned on and tried resetting phone to no avail

    Hello melissa82686,
From your description, it sounds like you may have been using the SMS feature of Continuity in iOS 8. If this is the case and it has somehow become misconfigured after a recent change, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following articles helpful:
    SMS
With Continuity, all the SMS and MMS text messages you send and receive on your iPhone also appear on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch. Even if the person you’re communicating with doesn’t have an iPhone. And regardless of what phone they have, you can reply from whichever device is closest to you, including your iPad or Mac. You can also initiate a  conversation by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, or Calendar.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
    On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support
Get help using Continuity with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite - Apple Support

  • Import/Export statement  not working..

    Hi all,
I want to export some data from BADI & Import it back in user exit.
I wrote following line of code in BADI
export P1 FROM xstr to memory id 'ZABHI'.
& following line of code in User Exit
import P1 to xstr FROM memory id 'ZABHI'.
After export sy-subrc becomes 0 hence export statement is working fine but when aftr import xstr remains blank.(sy-subrc = 4)
I tried to execute same code in single ztest abap program & it works fine there.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi abhijeet,
    you are most welcome....
    to delete, use
** deletes the data to save wastage of memory
    delete from database indx(xy)
      client sy-mandt
      id 'ZABHI'.
you need to delete it coz, its available to all programs in the R/3
server via the ID and you don't want anybody to view the data u are
    sending into memory.
the statement that u used earlier was program specific and hence
not accessible to the user exit.

  • Importing movie to Flash 8 and error message appears

I have tried to import a movie into Flash 8 and the message appears "The operation could not be completed as an error has occurred".  It will not pu the movie on to the stage.  Do you think there is something wrong with the movie file or am I missing a step?  This is what I do:
    1) open a new flash file
    2) file - import video
    3) browse to find the movie file and then click next
    4) Click the option 'progressive download from a web server'
    5) I dont change any of the default settings and I don't want a skin on it
    6) It runs through like it is making the file and then the message appears "The operation could not be completed as an error has occurred".
Any ideas what I am doing wrong??
    Thanks,
    Rachel

Now that I have restored my pc to the time before installing Autodesk, the
    import facility now works again.
If you have installed programs that you do not really need, the best thing
to do is either uninstal them, or restore your computer through the control
panel.  If you do need them you could try using another flash encoding
program, encode it through that and then open the file in your flash
    program.
There is also a program called "Super" that enables flash encoding.  It
sounds good, and I am going to check it out as it is a freeware.
If it works well I may use it to encode the video into flash:-
If interested, here is the link
    http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
I too have very little knowledge in computers, but I like the creative side
    of using flash.
    Hope this helps a little.
Let me know how you get on.

You mean exporting from Outlook surely, what exactly are you you importing to?

  • Purple Squares and Green background while previewing in Idvd

Video in Quick Time is fine, but when ( put it into iDVD the PREVIEW shows red/purple dots with green background over the video.  How can I get rid of this 'glitch'?

Change your computers desktop background to a solid black.  When you do this do you see the green and purple dots?  I'm guessing the problem could be with your graphics card and not iDVD.

  • Editing 2 file types in 1 Sequence (1080i60 & 1280 x 720 Flip)

I began a Sequence that is 1440 x 1080, Upper Field, 29.97, Compressor HDV 1080i60, Audio 48 KHz, 16-bit and that is working fine. But, I then added new footage from a Flip camera (1280 x 720, Square Pixel Aspect Ratio, No field dominance, Editing Timebase 30, Compressor: H.264, and same audio settings as original sequence.) This footage plays fine in the viewer but as soon as I place it into the Timeline the audio and video are wildly out of synch. I did set my Prefs to ask when conforming, but it does not ask. I try to manually do so, and it renders, but does not seem to actually change the file format. I adjust the percentage in the Canvas (because sometimes this causes funky playback), and that seems to work once or twice, but not consistently. I tried exporting the Flip Footage with the same exact settings as the Sequence and then re-importing and it's the same problem. I tried a new sequence with the new Flip Footage and that too is inconsistent. I feel as though I have tried everything I know to do-- but can't get a handle on what exactly is wrong, nor how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any sage advice!

I got the camera and used in my trip to London last month. Very unlucky that there is no Apple Store where I live in HK, there is only reseller. I will try to test it with my friend new Macbook Pro 13".
If iMovie only import the video at 30 frames, it would not be a solution for GH1 users as the camera shoot at 60 frames which produce very smooth video which I watch the un-edited video on a PS3.
I was quite frustrated with the proper software for editing the AVCHD video. I thought many camera/video camera users shooting so-called hd video would face the same problem.

  • Imovie media browser only has one option, "Mobile". other videos had option for medium and small. mobile option wont import into iDVD. other videos gave me the Medium option, why not this one?

help! imovie media browser only has one option, "Mobile". other videos had option for medium and small. mobile option wont import into iDVD. other videos gave me the Medium option, why not this one? need answers ASAP!

    That is your answer then.
    Large is 960x540
    Medium is 640x480 (or 720x480)
    Mobile is probably 480x272.
It is offering you the sizes that make sense given the size of your source material.
As a trick, you might try this. In your project, put a short 640x480 clip in the project as the first clip of the project. Then keep the rest of the project as is. See if it will let you share now in Medium. It will not look as good, because there are not enough pixels to cover the Medium size, but it might work.

  • Idvd08 wont import ANY movie files at all

Idvd 08 wont import any movie files, I tried avi, mov, mp4, wmv... either through the drag and drop OR with Import and get an error , " File format not supported.
I tried making another User account, same error...
Tried the Permission Repair, same error...
This mac originally came with Ilife 06, and had the same error,
so I installed ILife 08, same error
Now, i have a mac at home , and it works fine on my mac at home, and I really need it at work, which is where I am now.
I have an Imac 10.4.11 2.16GHZ Intel Core 2 SDRAM and 1 GB 667 MHZ DDRS SDRAM, with tons of HD space...
PLESE HELP, I would sure appreciate it

I could be wrong but I believe iDVD will only work with QuickTime Movies made from iMovie or Final Cut projects.

  • H.264, 1280 × 720, 59.94 fps to FCE

I want to bring a file with these characteristics into FCE for editing:
    *Video Tracks:*
    *H.264, 1280 × 720, 59.94 fps, 6.22 Mbps*
    *Audio Tracks:*
    *MPEG-4 Audio stereo, 48 kHz, 128 kbps*
I read many posts and I understand I must convert it to a format FCE can deal with. I used Streamclip to convert it to a file with these characteristics:
    *Video Tracks:*
    *Apple Intermediate Codec, 1280 × 720, 59.94 fps, 99.38 Mbps*
    *Audio Tracks:*
*16-bit Big Endian stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps*
Now, the question becomes what preset to use in FCE to work with that file.
There is no obvious "Apple Intermediate Codec, 1280 × 720, 59.94 fps" preset in Easy Setup. So, I picked:
    *HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec 720p30*
And, for some reason, this seems to work fine. How is that right? Can this 720p30 preset actually handle 59.94 fps materials?
As a side note, if I transcode the original file to a file with these characteristics:
    *Video Tracks:*
    *Apple Intermediate Codec, 1280 × 720, 29.97 fps, 99.38 Mbps*
    *Audio Tracks:*
*16-bit Big Endian stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps*
And import that in FCE, the video then appears to play in slow motion in FCE. (and audio sync is lost too)
It must be a stupid question, but I find this confusing a little.

The QuickTime movie inspector says the same thing Streamclip does. (see previous post)
I just did a new transcoding of the original clip using Adobe Media Encoder CS5. The characteristics of the output file are:
    *Video Tracks:*
    *Apple Intermediate Codec, 1280 × 720, 29.97 fps, 49.86 Mbps*
    *Audio Tracks:*
*16-bit Little Endian stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps*
I imported this file in FCE and that works fine.
I am starting the believe FCE behaves differently at different times of the day.
So, I am going to transcode again using:
    1) Streamclip (whose interface is confusing, since it's hard to tell if the settings on the main window override the settings you set via the "Options..." button near the selected codec)
    2) QuickTime 7 Pro
    3) Adobe Media Encoder CS5
Those 3 tools expose codec options in slightly different ways, which certainly adds to the confusion.
As far as Apple Intermediate Codec is concerned, under QuickTime Pro, for "Compressor", I can pick HDV 720p, HDV 1080i, HDV 1080p or Other. "Other" is selected by default so I left it to that, even though "HDV 720p" looks more like the FCE "Easy Setup..." preset.
