IDVD closes itself just after it starts to burn.

Project Info: Project Duration=143:05 DVD Capacity= 4.6 of 7.7
Motion=2:31 of 15:00 Track= 5 of 99 Menus=5 of 99
I am using a Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x disk. From what I read this is recommended by Apple for the Superdrive.
I start the process and place the disk into the drive when asked. The program accepts it and continues all the way thru (process menus, slides, movies(video and audio).
iDVD then begins the Burn process with "multiplexing" and after approx 1 minute a window pops up that says "You have put in blank media" and asks what I would like to do. At the same time as the window pops; iDVD closes itself out with no warning.
Help.

I am using a Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x disk. From what I read this is recommended by Apple for the Superdrive.
Just a suggestion: Try a different media like Verbatim DVD-R Minus media or Maxell (both are highly recommended on iDVD Forums) .... but stay away from Memorex and TDK. Also suggest using Minus media which is slightly better in terms of video playback on multiple sources.
If you must write to DL media and the drive supports this newer media then i'd also suggest using either Verbatim or RiData (Ritech) DVD-R DL Minus 8.5GB (Plus will also work in your newer mac's S-Drive but I don't recommend it for troubleshooting purposes).
Please burn from a disc image using apple's DU or Roxio Toast at 4x or slower.
