Idvd format error

I am trying to do a burn in idvd. It keeps stopping near the end and saying there is a format error. It doesnt tell me WHAT KIND of error. It just says there was an error in the formatting. What could be causing this. I only have three videos on the dvd (short clips). I just burned a dvd successfully a day before with MORE clips and a slideshow. The three clips I'm trying to burn now were also on that dvd. I just dont understand why all of a sudden it wont burn. HELP!
I'm running on an imac G4 1GHz and idvd 7.0.1. All my content was created using Final Cut Pro 5.
Any help at all is appreciated as I am relatively new to Final cut and idvd and dvdpro.
Thanks so much.
Troy

I just tried to use the disk utility to burn my .img file. After I select the .img file and then try to "verify" it, I get an error message "Unable to veryify disk2, This image has no checksum information to verify".
Have no idea what that means.
Again all I am doing is trying to burn 3 QT short content movies. I burned them before with no problems. The only thing that has changed since then, is I went back into FCP and edited some black at the top of each one and then RE0exported to QT. I trashed the old QT versions and am trying to burn the new QT verstions with the black at the top of each one. That is the only difference between this burn and the last, besides the fact I have LESS content on this burn.
Any Ideas are appreciated as always. Thanks for the forum!

  • IDVD - Formatting error

    Alright - Unfortunately for our iMac, this will be the last straw. Our experience using Apple products has been EXTREMELY painful.
    1) I spent HOURS creating a movie of our vacation in Alaska (in iMovie). Each day of the trip was represented as a project under the folder "Alaska 2008".
    2) After 'sharing' the media to the media browser - I created a DVD. It was awesome except for the fact that each time a clip (project) finished playing, it returned to the main menu screen. So,....
    3) I went back into iMovie and created one single project out of all of the clips (the movie is about 1 1/2 hours), then I 'shared' it to the media browser.
    4) I went back into iDVD and created a new dvd. I set it for doublelayer 7.7 gigs and Professional Quality. The **** thing spent 5 hours encoding, multiplexing, etc. BUT AT THE VERY END IT EJECTED THE DISC AND SAID THERE WAS A FORMATTING ERROR. I've tried using several new disc (all with the same specs).
    Bottom line - if I can't get our vacation put on this DVD, then we're going to sell the iMac and go back to a PC....much less painful.
    Any input would be GREATLY, GREATLY appreciated

    Have you tried using Roxio Toast? It might help meet your objective/s better than iDvd which by default always returns to the main menu after each movie or slideshow. That's the way apple designed it. There is more latitude within DVDSP (part of FCS2) as well as Roxio Toast. The latter is much easier to learn and significantly less money than DVDSP btw.
    Hope this helps but if not just come on back.

  • IDVD 08 quits and reports "Formatting error"

    I've made new DVDs since installing 08 and carried forward older projects, but today both projects report "formatting error" when they reach some point in the burn. Any suggestions? Thanks.
    JFT

    Question #1: What is the source of this movie? Is it from a minidv camera via firewire? ..... USB 2? ...... or something else?
    Most of the time updates and most upgrades proceed rather smoothly when it comes to apple's i-apps / software (But not always). I prefer never to update in the middle of a project. I'll often wait, finish the project with the older version, and then update.
    Question # 2: Have you already tried exporting as a QT movie / file and then over to iDvd?

  • IDVD 6 error -8850 !!!!!!

    Folks... am tearing my hair out on this one, and am hoping someone can shed some light on the subject! I'm running iDVD 6 on an Intel MacBook Pro, still at OS 10.4.9. Am trying to create a DVD Image, and after it runs through the sequence iDVD reports error -8850, which I cannot find reference to anywhere! Contents is a .mov video, plus a bunch of photos in individual slideshows (photo files included in the burn). I've done all the usual debugging (created small test DVD which ran fine, deleted encoded content, removed non-Apple stuff from Library/Quicktime, checked for buttons outside the TV safe area, DiskCheck, created project archive on 2nd drive and ran from there, etc). Still no joy! Console log keeps complaining about "slideshow.mpg" not being found, but I have not inserted anything of this name, and have double-checked in the DVD map and on all the screens and DVD project info, and cannot find any stray reference to any content of this name!
    Would very much appreciate any suggestions!!
    Tom

    I'm using an external firewire drive for the 8GB DVD project file (I had created a project archive to gather together all the needed resources, which were coming from the iPhoto and iTunes databases on that other computer). I mount the volume via the Finder, and save the disk image on the local computer. I'm right at 24GB free on that local computer, so I was concerned with putting the 8GB project archive onto the local disk.
    Some interesting results after a very long night of trying to debug this last night... the Console error of "cannot find slideshow.mpg" which is pointing into the Resources folder inside the iDVD project package is evidently not a critical error. I stripped down the project to menus plus slideshows only (no movie file, for which i've tried both .mov and .dv formats), and each of the 7 slideshows I only populated with 2 pictures each. The DVD image completed successfully in this instance, even though the Console log still compained 7 times about not finding a slideshow.mpg file! I then went into one of the slideshows and added the baland of about 8 pictures, and when I re-ran the DVD image file creation, I again had error -8850.
    Ah Ha! I thought at 2am this morning... a corrupted file. Shut down iDVD and fired up Tech Tool Pro, but no indications of problem files. Ran both File Structure and Finder Info checks.
    When I re-ran the DVD image file creation, still had the same fatal error -8850, and a non-mountable image file created. When I pull out the extra pictures from the one slideshow, it ran with no errors and produced a good image file. BTW, i have viewed each of the pictures in that slideshow, both via the iDVD edit window, and through other programs, and they display just fine.
    I'll try more debugging tonight... I tried to run a stripped down DVD structure with only the one slideshow in question, and I think it ran OK, but I was getting pretty blurry-eyed by then.
    I'll report back on progress after tonights episode. I figure I should test by adding photos back into one or more of the other slideshows, while keeping the first minimized, and see what happens. Also will try again on a stripped down DVD with only the one slideshow in question. Any other suggestions on special debug steps would be (as always) greatly appreciated!

  • Bex Analyser : Date Format error.

    Hi All,
    We are facing date format error, while running the query in Bex analyzer.
    We have one column in report i.e Net Payment Date, so when we run the query in analyzer the single date like "5-6-2010 is getting swapped like 6-5-10 & year also showing two digits i.e instead of 2010 it shows 10" & date like "12-09-2010 is coming perfectly."
    Means the date which is in single digit we are facing this problem like 1 to 9 & the dates which are 10 & above showing perfectly.
    In RSRT the query showing proper result, so i don't think it's BI problem.
    The regional setting is DD-MM-YYYY & Date separator is '-' & we don't want to change this format.
    Is there any SAP note or any solution for this..??
    All the replays are gr8ly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Santosh

    Hi Santosh,
    how about web display? is it ok? for me it seems more an Excel problem, so maybe you should check if there is special formatingin this.

  • FF_5 - Import Bank Statement, Err: Formatting error in the field COBL-KOSTL

    Hi
    When importing the bank statement I'm getting the error
    Error: (00 298) Formatting error in the field COBL-KOSTL ; see next message
    Why is it doing this? In OKB9 I have the GL Account and the cost center assigned. It is the ne GL that is giving this problem, in the classic GL I do not have this problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
    No, it is not that. For some reason in the new GL it does not seem to determine the cost centers and profit centers as usual.
    For exampl to allocate the Profit Center for Balance Sheet Account I used to use 3KEH in the classic gl but in the New gl we must use FAGL3KEH.
    Now with cost center i'm having the same problem, does not determine the cost center when importing the bank statement.
    Can someone help me.
    Thanks in advance

  • Format Error : mkfs.ocfs2 1.2.7 file system too small for a journal

    Hi All,
    I am trying to implement Oracle 10g RAC on my laptop using vmware and openfiler software . But while executing the command
    #mkfs.ocfs2 -b 4K -C 32K -N 4 -L oracrsfiles /dev/iscsi/crs11/part1
    I am getting the error
    Format Error : mkfs.ocfs2 1.2.7 file system too small for a journal
    Please anybody can help me to resolve this problem.
    Thanks in Advance.

    How large is the device that you are formatting?
    The default journal size depends on the type specified. If none specified,
    then it assumes "mail" which sets the default journal per slot to 256M.
    If database type, default is 64M.
    Use "-T database" to specify database type, etc.
    BTW, one can always override the defaults. Say "-J size=16M" to make
    a smaller journal.
    man mkfs.ocfs2 and the user's guide has more.

  • After Effects CS6 format error 45::35

    I'm getting "After Effects Error: Photoshop File format error 1.  (45::35)" in AE CS 6 with .IFF's from Maya. I know this is nothing new, this problem has been around for a  loooooong time.
    We like here at ABC like .IFF since it's native to Maya and a small file with alpha.
    Close and open AE and it works for a while then the error appears, rather than me doing a work around and converting to another format, my question is:  When do you think Adobe will have a solution?
    Ray

    The better question actually is: When will Autodesk stop "enhancing" the IFF format? There really is two sides to the equation and as long as Autodesk implement undocumented changes (including trivial stuff like incrementing the IFF version number in the metadata), any other company can only paly catch-up. Also the format has this odd "quality" where byte errors do not necessarily affect the visible data, so rendering errors may not actualyl show up unless you open the files in anotehr program. I understand your rationale for using it, but it really is not the best format for heterogenous workflows involving apps from different vendors. TIFFs are so much nicer...

  • Invalid Keystore Format error

    we need to configure an SSO from SAP portal and a third party website by passing encrypted userid as url parameters.
    To configure the SSO I have received the public key of the third party and able to access it from server location. Now I have to access priavte key of the SAP Portal certificate and sign the UserId and pass it as url parameter. I have gone through many blogs and written code as below which is giving Invalid Keystore Format error.
    My question is
    1. What should be passed to FileInputStream?
    As of now we are passing the .cer file which is stored as part of project.
    Below code is throwing error at ks.load() method.
    String fielPath1 = request.getPublicResourcePath()+"/SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert1.cer";
    FileInputStream ksfis = new FileInputStream(fielPath1);
    KeyStore ks = KeyStore.getInstance("JKS");
    ks.load(null, sPass.toCharArray());
    BufferedInputStream ksbufin = new BufferedInputStream(ksfis);
    ks.load(ksbufin, sPass.toCharArray());
    PrivateKey priv = (PrivateKey) ks.getKey(alias, kPass.toCharArray());
    Error is:
    Invalid keystore formatsun.security.provider.JavaKeyStore.engineLoad(JavaKeyStore.java:633)sun.security.provider.JavaKeyStore$JKS.engineLoad(JavaKeyStore.java:38)java.security.KeyStore.load(KeyStore.java:1185)am_sso_apc.doContent(am_sso_apc.java:132)com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.AbstractPortalComponent.serviceDeprecated(AbstractPortalComponent.java:213)
    Please let me know how to pass the filepath to extract the priavte key .

    I found the solution. As follows:
    keytool -list -keytool keytoolfile -storetype jceks

  • APEX on Oracle XE PDF printing produces: Format error: not a PDF or corrupted.

    Dear fellow Apexers and Oracle Gurus,
    I have the following configuration:
    Oracle XE 11gR2
    APEX 4.2.3.00.08
    Listener 2.0.5
    On this setup I can create workspaces and applications as I please.
    Now I want to print a PDF report.
    I have set up PDF printing to "Oracle Listener" in the "manage Instance" settings in the instance administration.
    I have created a classical report on the EMPLOYEES table (Select * from EMPLOYEES)
    and enabled PDF printing in the "Printing" area of the "Print Attributes" of the page.
    When I run the page I do get the "print" link on the bottom of the page.
    Clicking the link does produce a .PDF but showing this file triggers an error in my PDF reader: Format error: not a PDF or corrupted.
    Opening the .PDF file in a text editor reveals the corrupt content.
    %PDF-1.4
    %ª«¬
    Unknown function: gatherContextInfo
    The same setup works fine and produces the expected PDF file with the report on the following configuration:
    Oracle Vbox with Developer days image;
    DB 11gR2
    Upgraded to apex 4.2.3.00.08
    Listener 2.0.5
    Since the PDF shows "unknown function" I suspected the XE configuration to lack some of the necessary rights, maybe I forgot to configure the ACLs correctly.
    So I compared the ACL info on both configurations. Alas,.. on both machines they return the same result..
    SQL> SELECT * FROM DBA_NETWORK_ACLS
    HOST         LOWER_PORT    UPPER_PORT    ACL
    localhost    null          null           /sys/acls/local-access-users.xml
    *            null          null           /sys/acls/power_users.xml
    SQL> select * from dba_network_acl_privileges
    ACL                                  PRINCIPAL      PRIVILEGE   IS_GRANT    INVERT
    /sys/acls/local-access-users.xml     APEX_040200    connect     true        false
    /sys/acls/power_users.xml            APEX_040200    connect     true        false
    Anyone any idea why this works fine on the Vbox and not on the local XE configuration?
    Any hint or answer as to where the problem might be is appreciated
    TIA
    Wouter

    I'm having the same issue. I'm using Oracle XE 11gR2 as well. I've tried with APEX 4.2.2 and APEX 4.2.4. I have set up the Oracle Listener in instance settings and set the report to print and I have the same result as you. Have you had any progress yet?
    Thanks

  • Network message format error on Site Studio Designer

    Hi all,
    I am facing a very wierd issue in Site Studio. I have enabled accounts on the content server. When i use the content server User interface, i can check in any content using the standard check in form with or without specifying the account for it. In the case of Site Studio Designer, when i try to create a new asset/ content( basically check in anything) , it checks in the content successfully when the account metadata field is left blank. If the account field is specified, it gives me an error sayin :

    (Network message format error).
    When i checked the content server logs, it says:

  • Network message format error. GET request must have a QUERY_STRING value

    I have installed new Content Server 10gR on my laptop.
    Web Server is : Apache 2.2.4
    DB is : Oracle 10g (Standard Edition)
    Platform : Windows
    CS is up & running. I am able to login and browse through content store. But when I try to perform any type of Submit operation anywhere in CS Portal ( for example "Updating My Profile and clicking on Submit" ) I get following error:
    "Network message format error. GET request must have a QUERY_STRING value (the CGI parameters on the URL) "
    1. Does any one know why I am getting this ?
    2. Is some configuration missing for Apache which connects Apache with CS ?
    Below is the httpd.conf changes:
    LoadModule IdcApacheAuth D:/oracle/ucm/idc/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll
    IdcUserDB idc "D:/oracle/ucm/idc/data/users/userdb.txt"
    Alias /idc "D:/oracle/ucm/idc/weblayout"
    <Location /idc>
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    DirectoryIndex portal.htm
    IdcSecurity idc
    </Location>
    3. One things that I see that before hitting the Submit button the URL is:
    http://delrpatha76669.sapient.com:8989/idc/idcplg/?IdcService=GET_DOC_PAGE&Action=GetTemplatePage&Page=HOME_PAGE&Auth=Internet
    And after hitting Submit button on "My Profile" the URL becomes:
    http://delrpatha76669.sapient.com:8989/idc/idcplg/
    I guess part of URL gets truncated/missed etc and so we are getting this error ?
    Any way to fix this ?
    Edited by: user12188052 on Sep 21, 2010 10:10 AM

    This issue is resolved.
    Cause
    - After installation when I started CS , I saw "D:\oracle\ucm\idc\weblayout\idcplg" folder missing error in logs. Reason why I created this "idcplg" folder inside "weblayout" folder was because I thought it was not created during installation. I created this folder & copied "idc_cgi_isapi.dll" this file into it.. This was the issue
    Fix
    - I deleted the folder "D:\oracle\ucm\idc\weblayout\idcplg" and everything started working fine now.

  • Formatting error in the field COBL-GSBER - FF_5 Upload

    Hi Experts,
    When I upload the bank statement in FF_5, I am getting the following error.
    "Error: (00 298) Formatting error in the field COBL-GSBER ; see next message"
    If I make the field "Businees Area" Optional in Field Status Group of the "Bank Main Accout", then I am not getting the above error and the posting also happens to the "Bank Main Account".
    But if I make "Business Area" Required Entry Field then I get the above error.
    Is there any other method to rectify this problem, i.e can this be resolved even after keeping Business Area as a required field.
    Pl advice.
    Rgds,
    Prasad.

    Hi,
    I hope making Business area optional field is not a wise decision...user may go without inputting the business area in the field which later on will create problem for clearing...
    If required go for activating user exit FEB00001... which will give you the business area...
    try the same with your ABAPer....
    Cheers
