I think we are looking at re-installing your iDVD application. But let's do a few of the basics first.
Have you Repaired Permissions on the boot volume? (if not, do so now)
Drag and drop the plist for iDvd to the trash ..... looks like this:
com.apple.iDvd.plist
RESTART your mac.
Now try iDvd. Hopefully this helped.
But if not, read on .....

Remember to run apple's Software Updater.

I recently had a bad computer crash and had to reinstall the operating system. Amongst the issues of resetting a few things, the one of most concern is iDVD. I was right in the middle of some projects when the crash occurred. iDVD projects have a blank document icon and iDVD won't load. Here is the crash report:

If the crash was bad enough that you had to reinstall your OS, I can only imagine what it did to your iDVD projects.
Somebody in the Tiger forum may be able to offer more suggestions. I'll try to have the thread moved there. -

Any help please?I got this same message from having installed Leopard (10.5)
and then because the "great Check Point VPN" software doesn't support Leopard I reinstalled Tiger (10.4) from supplied CD's
Yes, photo booth left on my machine was version 2.0.1
and will NOT run under Tiger
1) first, using Finder, locate your "photo booth" and rename it [or delete it]
2) using Os X tiger cd 1 find the "Install Bundled software only" icon
3) Pick "custom install", then expand the "Bundled Applications" until you see Photo Booth
4) click ALL of them off, except leave Photo Booth flagged [when I pick it, office 2004 TEST drive turns on too, unflag that too]
5) Press the Upgrade button [don't select easy install, as that will install EVERYTHING]
6) Photo Booth shows in your Dock and it works -
I just imported over 1,000 images into Aperture from a photo shoot. The first 680+ images imported fine. The rest appear as images in Aperture but when I try to make Adjustments I get the message "Image Not Found." I used "Show Package Contents" on the iPhoto Library and see that the first 680+ RAW files are located in the appropriate Masters folder. Apparently not all of the images were copied from the memory card; maybe I dismounted the CF card before all the processing was completed. I've tried repairing the database and the images are still not in the library. Ideally I would simply copy the missing RAW files into the Masters folder where they belong but it sounds manipulating files in the finder after using "Show Package Contents" is a bad thing to do. The missing files are located on the CF card, which I think is where the iPhoto library thinks they are located. I have since copied them to a folder on my hard disk.
My iPhoto library is located in the Pictures folder. I'm not using Referenced images but the badge image on the missing files indicates that "The referenced image’s master has not been found," a yellow triangle with a right arrow above it. Any suggestions for how to get the missing images into the iPhoto library? The missing files are located on the CF card, which I think is where the iPhoto library thinks they are located. I have since copied them to a folder on my hard disk.
Then insert the card again, but do not import again.
Are the originals still reported as missing?
If not, select all images that are showing a problem and use the command "File > Consolidate Originals".
When prompted, select to "Copy", not "to move". This will write the originals into the Aperture library. -
I was doing a relocate originals to get the masters out of my vault and into a backed up system. After it was "done", there is one file that says "image not found". However, I can find the image file. How can I get Aperture to not see it as a managed image (that isn't in its vault) and instead to be a referenced image where I can point it to the file?
Thanks in advance,
Alan
Aperture 3.4.4leonieDF wrote:
The message in the vault panel can be misleading. It will also count files in the Photo Stream. Are you using Photo Stream?
If Aperture relocated your images, you will be able to use the command "File > Show in Finder". Try that on some files in the project in question. If aperture still has the file indexed as "managed", the Show in Finder should be grayed out.
If your files are truely managed, you will see them in the Library package. Ctrl-click the Aperture library and use the command "Show Package Contents". Open the folder "Masters" and navigate to the subfolder of the date, when you imported the project. Managed originals should be stored there.

Ah-ha! Yes, it's PhotoStream well, 155 of them are. The reast are in various sub-folders under Masters but they aren't the master files (those are definitely disk outside of the Library) and they are very small - <100k and the ones I've looked at are 720x540 whereas the originals were either 2048x1536 (iPhone 4S) or 3888x2592 (CanonEOS400D) so I don't know where they've come from The only clue is that the pixel size is the size of Std Def TV (UK PAL).
I take it that PhotoStream images are Managed and can't be Referenced? Any idea where the others may have come from? I take it that it wouldn't be wise to go deleting them!! -

the application runs without error on the iphone simulator, but i cant open it this way.
Thanks to allThe answer is mentioned in a few other posts, but I thought I'd repeat it here, so that it's easier to find this solution in the future.
The problem is that the application you built for the iPhone Simulator is NOT a real application, even though it looks like one. You need to run it from within Xcode.
I got the same problem trying to build an iPhone-Simulator application using another build process -- in this case, Boost Build. When I tried to run the program, it gave me the same nonsensical dynamic-library error. In my case, I got around the problem by building the GLPaint sample using Xcode, copying over the executable it generated with the one I generated via Boost Build, then running GLPaint (actually my program now) from within Xcode. Then it worked. -
Export/import of Project: Master Image Not Found? No Referenced Files
I am using Snow Leopard and latest Aperture. I just exported a project from my Macbook and imported it on my iMac. All 200 images indicate that the Master Image Not Found and have the yellow triangle with the exclamation point.
I have read about problems using Referenced files. These are not Referenced.
What am I missing? Is this not the preferred way to move projects from machine to machine?
Thanks for any help...
TomTony -
Just to close the loop. I discovered that some new RAM in the MBP was not good (it was OK, then didn't turn on - after a near heart attack, I tried taking out the new RAM and it was fixed!). It may be that the project export was corrupted by the bad RAM. I also disconnected the firewire drive, so that may also have contributed (even though the drive was not directly involved in any of the transfers).
So I'm marking this 'Solved'.
Thanks for your interest and help!

Whilst downloading pictures from a flash card I got a warning message saying that the device had been disconnected, and that my pictures hadn't been downloaded. I hadn't actually deliberately disconnected the card, but I had moved my computer and the connection has previously been rather sensitive to movement. The pictures I was trying to download couldn't be found on the card, and weren't in the Aperture album I was downloading to. However, when I opened the Trash they seemed to be in there. I dragged them to the relevant album. However, when I actually tried to open the images for editing, I got a message saying "Image not found". When I look at the thumbnails there is some sort of little icon in the bottom right corner, as you can see in the screenshot below. Have my images been lost? Can I get them back? I don't quite understand what has happened.
I ran this and it turned out that the master files were still on the flash memory card, even though they hadn't shown up in the original index following my download failure.
Hello David,
So you got your images back ? Great!
the difference between 'referenced' and 'managed' Library. What are these?
Aperture has two methods to store the original master image files.
Managed Masters, the default: Aperture stores the master image files inside the library package in a folder called "Masters". References masters are advantageous for small libraries - the masters are well protected, they are included in the vault backup, you can move your library by drag and drop.
Referenced Masters: You chose a location for the master image files outside the library, and Aperture references the masters. It will be up to you to remember where your masters are and to ensure that they are neiter modified, moved, or deleted. Referenced Libraries are used for large libraries, if you cannot keep the whole library on the system drive. Then the thing to do is to store the masters on an external volume and only to keep the library and good quality previews on your system volume.
You create a referenced library either on Import with the "Store Files" drop down menu in the "Aperture Library" brick by setting this to "In their current location" or to anfolder outside Aperture, or you use the "relocate masters" command from the "File" menu to move master image files somewhere else.

"Image not Found" error with Show Thumbnails
Using Dreamweaver's ADDT "Show Thumbnail" server behavior, I get an "image not found" error. The thumbnail has been created because I can see in on the remote server. I am new at this, please help!
>>
And If I change the "File List Recordset" to get images subfolders related to a rename rule, {dogs_images_recordset.id_dog) I get an image displayed, but its always the same image and corresponds only to one record (the first of the display list)
>>
I´m now trying to understand your scenario -- so if I get it right, the file list recordset retrieves the correct image folder
(assuming you´re passing the dynamic folder name from e.g. an URL variable "id_dog"), but just displays one image rather than looping through all images in that directory ? However, can you please post the code of the page containing the file list recordset ?

LR4 opens as lr2 and images not found, can anyone help me please, I'm hopeless.
LR4 just uploaded as upgrade. Thanks dj, what happens is when I click on the LR4 shortcut LR4 window starts to open, flashes momentarily as LR4 then buggers off before fully opening my old LR2.
I have removed the LR4 installed yesterday, and reinstalled, but same problem. Also the installation process now seems to never stop cycling. It goes through the full installion cycle, then starts/repeats again. I have followed the prompts and run through it 3 times before giving up.
Any more clues on what I have done wrong, or now need t do please. -
