IDVD not compatible with 10.5.8 OS X
I have a Pac Pro G5 and recently reinstalled the original 10.4 OS X. I then upgraded to 10.5.8 using the upgrade disc. When I try to run iDVD, I get a message that states that iDVD can't operate on this version of OS. I do not know the version of iDVD currently installed. It should be the version that would be from the 10.5.8 upgrade. Any ideas how to get iDVD to run?

Program miss-match. iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard

• Buy a more modern version of iLife (No free up-grades at all)
• Go back to Mac OS X.4.11 (I keep a hard disk with this to start from when needed)

Hi. I just discovered my videos from my Canon digital camera are not compatible with imovie or idvd (I'm very disappointed about that.) The photos are stored in my iphoto and I can burn a dvd using idvd but there is no audio So.... I need new software. I can't trace a camera of that name. All that comes up is either the Sony Cybershot or the Canon Powershot!

What version of iDVD is compatible with OS X 10.5.8? I get an error message that iDVD 5.0.1 is not compatible with OS X 10.5.8.
It won't mess up anything. The preference file contains the preferences you set in iDVD such as this:
Follow this to delete the iDVD preference file:
1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

How do you burn a video file not compatible with quicktime?

I am very new at this so I apologize if the solution is very simple - i just can't seem to work this iDVD thing...
I've searched through the forums and can't seem to find exactly what I need, please point me in the right direction if a solution has already been posted elsewhere.
Okay, so my problem is trying to burn movies to DVD. I don't actually have to use iDVD, but it's the only solution i've come up with. My problem is when I add a movie file (lets say, something that will ONLY OPEN with VLC), and press preview, no movie files show up... but when i put in a video file that will play with quicktime, the preview works fine.
So i suspect the preview wont play because the file is not compatible with quicktime.
have any of you tried this? All i want is to be able to play a downloaded movie on the dvd player downstairs

PeteriDvd is not a general burn utility. However, there's a very good chance (whatever that file is) that Toast will burn it to Dvd-R. And if not (which is unlikely) then do as suggested already and use Mpegstream Clip. It's 100% free! However Mpeg 2 playback component may run you a few bucks (if needed).
Or the alternative is to invest hundreds of dollars in Apple software and use apps like FCP and DVDSP (or FCS) along with QT Pro. Nine times out of ten this combination tends to work well ... but it ain't cheap (not to mention a rather steep learning curve).

I just upgraded my Power Mac8,2, iMac G5 from Tiger to Leopard 10.5.7 and I can no longer send from iphoto a slideshow to idvd to burn, a message comes up that ' idvd is not compatible with this version of leopard.' I rang to talk to someone and they weren't too sure either but said I would have to get iLife 09! I have read the system requirements for iLife 09 and it states you must have a processor 867MHz or faster, my mac processor speed is 2GHz, Bus Speed 667 MHz so it looks to me that it won't be compatible for my mac? Does anyone know if that is so? Any suggestions please.

Mail app deleted and reinstall wont open, says not compatible with OSX
i accindetally deleted my mail app and emptied the trash, when I tried to reinstall from the startup disk, it installs but wont open, saying that the version of mail is not compatible with the version of OSX (10.5.8)

There is no downloadable version of Mail.app - it comes with the operating system i.e. on your install disks. -

I downloaded Version 4 and installed it. At no point did it say that it was not compatible with the version of OS X that I am running (10.4.11) now that it is installed it will not open but it has already up graded from 3.6 so I have lost the lot. How can I download a version of 3.6 so that I can use it again or should I just pack up and use Safari as all I can get from your site is version 4. HELP!!!

iPod 4,1 will not update to iOS 7. I updated my iMac to 10.9.1 (maverick). Latest Numbers version on iMac is not compatible with Numbers on iPod. Ideas? Can I go back a version with Numbers? I downloaded old version of Numbers 2.0.1 from DVD but with both versions the 2.0.1 will not open. So both versions are present but only the new version functions. I tried to drag the new version to the trash but the old version still runs error message and will not open. I did not try to restart with the new version in the trash.

I'm trying to silently upgrade my environment to FF 7. I've gotten the silent install working great, it puts in my Proxy Server info, reassigns the home page and all that. But, the last version we pushed out was FF 3.5. If a user had that on their PC and they run the FF7 install, they get weird messages when clicking on the icon.

This is on Windows XPDo you have other virtualization or security software that might protect .ini and possibly other files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and prevent Firefox from updating them properly?
You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I want to add another management server to our existing SCOM environment. But whenever I run this setup on a new server I get stuck in the window for selecting the OperationsManager database. The database field stays blank and in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log
there are lines that the setup version is not compatible with the database version. But I use the same installer as when I installed the other management servers a year ago.
Maybe there is a newer setup installer? But I can't find it.
