IDVD not listed in applications or on dock

I would like to launch iDVD but have no way to do so since it's not listed on my dock or in Applications. When I connect my camcorder up I get the options to launch iDVD which it comes up fine and seems to work with no issues, however I can't launch it separately. Can someone tell me how to get this listed in my applications or on my dock? This is a relatively new MacBook Pro and I am a newbie to the Mac OS.

While you're holding the control key, also look in the contextual menu for the item "Show in Finder", which will open up the window that contains the application for you. I suspect that you are looking for iDVD in your personal (User Folder's) version of the Application Folder and it resides in the main Application Folder (or possibly vice-versa)

Acrobat XI Pro not listed under applications after installation

So, I completed all the steps with no luck. Uninstalled CC and all its components, ran the cleaner, etc. When I reinstalled a fresh version of the Creative Cloud Desktop App, it showed as if Acrobat XI Pro is already installed - see attached screen shot. Any other suggestions?

If your old iPhoto version was iPhoto 7, you need to run the iPhoto Library upgrader: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1523
It will install itself in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder.
Run it, and after that, you should be able to open your iPhoto Library with iPhoto '11.

Application Archive not listing all applications

Regarding the packaged application APEX Application Archive, does anyone know why it does not list all applications under Applications tab? I have it installed for three mostly identical instances, and two out of three are missing listing of applications that could be archived. I did not notice that all my applications were not archived the first time I used it. Is there a setting I am missing on the application level that makes an application "archivable"?

IMovie share to iDVD, but iDVD not listed

I have recently upgraded from iLife 06 to 08. I love 08 but when I try to export (Share) my iMovie to iDVD it is not listed as an option. These are the irems listed in order: iTunes; Media Browser; YouTube; and .Mac Web Gallery.

Shouldn't there be an option for iDVD under the Shared menu? An option that automatically launches iDVD application.
It was moved to GarageBand under the assumption that most users would likely want to chapter their content before passing it on to iDVD.

Why is Premiere not listed in Application Manager?

I am new to Adobe CC. I have a full membership. I just downloaded the App Manager, and have downloaded PS and InDesign. It lists 14 apps available, but does not list Premiere. Where is it?

Premiere Pro and After Effects require a 64 bit processor and 64 bit operating system.

If you're running a 32 bit operating system such as Windows 7 32 bit, neither AE nor PP will appear for download since they won't run on your system. You'll have to upgrade to a 64 bit computer to use them.

Help! After Affects not listed in Application Manager

I have cloud creative suite and as per the licence I am putting it on two computers ensuring that only one is on at any one time. But now that I have downloaded application manager and I open it After Affects isn't listed. I use Windows 7 - 32 bit.
Can any one help?

Premiere Pro and After Effects are both 64 bit only.

Country not listed on application

I live in Jordan and I'm trying to see if we can add a local university to iTunes U, but in the application when it prompts you to select a country that the institution is located in, Jordan isn't on there.

iTunes U is available only in certain countries, and I'm sorry to say that Jordan is not one of them. The countries where iTunes U is available can be found at the very bottom of the application page:

Your version of Safari is still supported. Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari. This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it." Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser. The plugin does not open files outside of the browser. If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not. Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

When I try to install Apple Remote Desktop, I get a message that says a more current version is already installed. I look in Applications and see no reference to Remote Desktop.

As far as Apple Remote Desktop, each Mac ships with the
server. It is the client, what you use to connect to another
mac, that requires a download and is $79.99 at the MacApp Store.
The server function is integrated into OSX and is not visible as an

Some file types not listed in Applications settings

I have a problem when I download files of the executables type (.exe). Previously, I have checked the sign so that Firefox automatically download the file via download manager. Unfortunately, some sites disallow downloading with it. But, when I want to change the setting, I can't find the executables type in the Applications settings. So, how I download normally again? Please help!

I think the setting you need must be in the add-on's settings.
Firefox's Tools > Options > Applications is for downloads that need an application to open them. Executables are designed to run directly on the OS rather than being opened by another application. Also, executable files usually are sent from the server with a generic binary file header, so Firefox will not be able to match them up with a particular file type.

This could be a plist corruption problem, but I'm not sure.
Sometimes, the preference list files get corrupted. You can usually just remove them and they'll get re-created. This may require you to reset certain settings. A notable exception to this is the Mail plist which actually stores the Library structure of your email accounts. Deleting the Mail plist will definitely cause lots of problems, but is recoverable.
The plist files are stored in the /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ folder. They usually have the naming convention of com.company.programname.plist.
A simple troubleshooting technique is to move a suspect plist file out of the Preferences folder and start up the app, again. It will re-create the plist from scratch.
In your case, I would try the com.apple.dock.plist. You can use Activity Monitor to kill the Dock app and it will restart. Or, you can log out and log back in.
There is a new file with Leopard called com.apple.dock.db. I haven't figured out what it does, but you might try moving it out. If anything gets worse, you can move the old file back in replacing the newly created one.
This all sound somewhat odd, so I don't know if this will help.
