IDVD not reflecting/updating iMovie project changes

Hello all:
Correct me if I'm wrong here but when using the "Share to iDVD" option I remember the previous version of iDVD recognized and updated the project when a change(s) had been made in the iMovie project- it would display a message that the "assets had been changed" and update accordingly.
This doesn't seem to be happening with my installation and so every time I update my iMovie project I have to start with a fresh iDVD theme which is very frustrating if it was just a small modification.
Maybe I have an option turned off - I'm not sure but would appreciate your thoughts.

There is a BUG in iDVD that prevent return to adjust material then come back to iDVD
for further work.
• When done that - iDVD will notice it and ask You to Up-date or Cancel
Neither works eg Chapters will point to same start etc
Medicine - only as I understands it is - Start a brand new iDVD project and re-do.

IDVD not loading my iMovie projects

I really, really, hope someone can help.
I created a film in iMovie and would like to create a DVD with chapters/menus etc using iDVD.
Once I had finished my film and set the chapters etc I went to Share -> Media Browser and selected HD 720 and clicked publish.This seemed to work fine and took some time as my film is 57mins and 33 seconds.
However, when I open iDVD, create a project and then go into the Media section by clicking on the Media button and then clicking on Movies..it just says "Loading iMovie Projects...."
Now I'm not sure how long I should have to wait...but nothing happens....it just says that message and nothing...just the swirling icon to say it's loading....
- Now I don't even have many projects in iMovie...about 4 and they aren't as big as this one which I have been working on for some time.
After doing some research I have been able to double check imovie shared the movie (from what I did in Media Browser) as their is a .mov file in the 'Show Package Contents' of the original iMovie project file called: "720p.MOV".
Not sure how it all works but I want iDVD to allow me to access the film I shared in Media Browser and then create a DVD that has all the chapters I set in iMovie and so allows me to create a good DVD with all the sub-menu's etc.
I hope all that makes sense? I just really am struggling to understand why the iMovie projects won't load in iDVD?!? All this work for nothing?? I hope not!
I was advised to create the DVD this way - I know there is another way to do it in iMovie - Share -> iDVD.....I think I did try that once and it crashed but do I need to do it this way? will that work?
Hope someone can help and advise me of a way to do this. I don't want to burn this as a DVD without chapters and slick menu's. I was really counting on iMovie and iDVD to work. The screenshot of what is happening follows:
I am using iDVD 7.1.2, iMovie 11 and a 2008 MacBook Pro (2.2 GHz Dual Core Intel) with 4gb ram and the rather crappy geforce 8600M GT with 128mb.

To test if - trash pref file is right You can Safely do
• Start a new User-Account (Apple / System pref/set-up / Accounts
• Log out and into this
• Try iDVD - Does it now beheave - then trashing iDVD.pref file can be of big help (in original Account)
Delete iDVD pref file
• Delete iDVD pref. file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try
iDVD pref. file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named.
com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )

GeeD, I do not have macKeeper installed. And I am running iMovie 10.0.2.

we have request_date and schdule_ship_date and they are some default rules are defined
as sysdate for both the dates and thses should be effected once you save the form.
our requirement is schdule_ship_date should not be updatable when we change a request_date
for the already existing sales order(SO).
This can be achieved through form personalization.

I can not open my iMovie project

I can not open my iMovie project. Everytime I click on it, the spinning wheel keeps spinning and spinning until I force quite the iMovie. Please help?

OK Let's take a step back.
If you imported video clips from a camcorder there would be an Events folder in the Movies/iMovie Events/ folder.
You have the option as you import from a camcorder to send your Event to an external drive instead. In this case, it would be in the iMovie Events folder at the top level of the external drive.
If your project has no video clips, but only photos, there may be no events folder, only links to iPhoto.
Similarly, if your camera imported your video clips to iPhoto, and you used the iPhoto event in iMovie, then your clips are in iPhoto, and there is no separate iMovie event.

IDVD '06 Sees Old iMovie Projects But Not New Ones

I have found that iDVD '06 will let you do something really neat, that ended up in me discovering something really dumb.
First, if you want to add a folder with media in it to the Media section of iDVD, you can literally just drag/drop the folder there and POOF it shows up and your media shows up.
BUT... Ugh.
iDVD '06 does NOT see iMovie '06 project files. So, if you have a folder with iMovie '05 projects in it and iMovie '06 projects in it, and you drag that folder into the "Media" section of iLife '06, the '05 projects show and the '06 projects don't.
And this all came up because of another issues in iMovie '06 (posted about over here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=421159&tstart=0 ) in which iMovie '06 doesn't actually delete video in cropped videos, discovered because I no longer can see video snips of a current iMovie project in iDVD (I used to see just enough to use in the menus, which was fine).
So, this sounds really weird to me. iDVD '06 can't see iMovie '06 project files? That can't be right, can it?

IDVD won't recognize imovie project

Hello people.
I have an 09 Mac desktop computer. I have now made seven iMovie projects ranging from ten minutes to almost two hours. Each time I shared the project with iDVD to burn the finished product to disc. Each time I made sure I could play back the movie on our DVD player.
I was able to play back each of these movies on my computer as the files ( I am assuming they were files ) were automatically stored in a movies folder right after they were shared with iDVD from iMovie. Since they take up space on the hard drive, I decided to store the files on an external hard drive. I believe each one copied to the hard drive. Once each one was on the hard drive, I made sure I could play it back. Then I trashed each file on the computer, again making sure right after that I could still play each file on the external drive. They would open in iDVD and I could play them. All was good.
Recently I made another iMovie project of my children's high school play. As I did before, I shared it with iDVD and it appeared to be working as usual. It was to take approx. 30 minutes to create the movie from the project. HERE IS MY FIRST PROBLEM! Usually after the movie is created, it then opens in iDVD and from here I can burn to disc. iDVD did not open! I tried a couple of times and nothing. I then tried a short 30 second clip from iMovie with no titles or transitions or anything. This worked. iDVD opened after creating the short movie. My project is an hour long. Consequently with this project I shared it with the media browser and made it into an avi file. I then used a program ( Toast ) that came with my Roxio Converter ( VHS to DVD ) software to burn the movie to disc.
HERE IS MY NEXT PROBLEM! I went to view the movies on my hard drive and iDVD won't recognize them. It says it can't find the missing audio and video files. Can anyone help me with this?

Cross your fingers for a satisfactory answer to the "NEXT PROBLEM." When you copied the iDVD files to your external drive and deleted them on your computer -- hopefully you just deleted the iDVD files and not the iMovie files. If that's the case, you can reconnect the external iDVD files to the original iMovie files and you're back in business (open the external iDVD project and use it's browser to find the original iMovie files). If the iMovie files were deleted, that's a more difficult problem -- you'll need to recreate the iMovie files (re-import from the camcorder and re-edit), or you'll have to "rip" your DVDs back into an electronic file (which gives you only the finished product of your original editing, with slightly degraded video resolution).

IDVD won't burn iMovie Project

I completed a lengthy iMovie project (iMovie 4.0.1), complete with music, titles, transitions etc., but can't get iDVD to burn the movie. I have a Super Drive and have burned short projects previously, so I don't know why it's not working this time. I opened the iDVD application, chose a theme ("Reveal")and dragged some photos into the theme page on the right side. So far, so good. I then tried to drag the iMovie project icon from the harddrive into the area on the theme page (middle) where it says "drag movies or photos here." When I did that, I got an error message which said: "Unsupported Action Your last action not supported by iDVD." Anyone have a clue as to what might be wrong? The movie is not too lengthy, I don't believe; it's about 52 minutes total. Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on this.

Renaming/updating iMovie projects

Now that my iMovie collection is expanding, I'm trying to rename them.
With projects created in iMovie 6 (packaged), when I change the project name, only the package name changes. Is there an advantage to changing the names of the components inside the package?
With projects created in older versions (in folder), I have a number of files in the folder (varies depending on which version of iMovie was first used). Which ones are safe to rename/delete?
movieName
movieName.iMovie2Project
movieName.mov
movieName~.
Shared Movies > GarageBand > movieName.mov
Shared Movies > iDVD > movieName.mov

I have renamed the iMovie project package contents occasionally with no ill effects.
But this has the potential to ruin the project so be careful and make good backups and run some tests before going that route!!

I'd advice to keep your fingers away from the /Media folder although iMovie 5-6 seem to be quite tolerant when messing in there, too. I usually let iMovie delete stuff (=media clips) but I very often add .dv files there as a shortcut:

I have sometimes renamed the project package, the *.iMovieProj, *~.iMovieProj and the /Shared Movies/iDVD/*.mov in the same way. iMovie automatically re-creates another renamed *.mov reference so the old one can optionally be left there or be completely deleted -- a brand new .mov is created when iMovie saves the project.
But be careful and have good backups!

Moving Average Price does not get updated for Project Stock

We have an Engineer-to-Order implementation for our client. Accordingly procurement is done per project. Each Project issues its PRs which are then converted to POs and recieved into Project Stock.
While assigning the material to the Network activity in Project (using material component) the system uses the price found in the material master (MAP or STD) as a planned cost appended to the project.
Problem:
while procuring the material, when we receive it into Project Stock (Mvt 101 Q + ) the Moving Average Price in the material master does not get updated. this way all newly created material master will never have a moving average price, thus whenever we try to assign them to the project we receive an error message (Cost for Material Component ###Mat.Num### cannot be determined.
Question:
How can I get the system to update moving average price (for all types of stock) based on procurement for project stock.???

Case:
The T-code is CJ20N Project Builder in PS module
we are assigning material components to network activities under a certain WBS element in the project.
there is a function in the Project Builder to calculate the cost of a network. it uses the costing variant assigned to the network which is PS02 (We get the error here)
The costing variant has a valuation variant which lists a series of strategies to get the material price. Planned 1 if not then STD if not then MAP. (you can choose between many options via a drop down menu) you can choose 5 consequent options.
The MAP that the valuation variant is coded to get is the Plant Stock MAP -- Or the Project Stock MAP but only Per WBS element.
The MAP that the Actual postings update is the Project Stock MAP only Per WBS element.
This means that if you use a material component to purchase material 123 Acc.As. Q for WBS X for 10 $ then you try to assign a new material component with the same material 123 to WBS Y, the system will not get a MAP. because it's stored in QBEW per WBS element.
This way the system will never get the MAP right.
However, we don't always use project stock to procure for projects, for some requirements we can assign and use plant stock as well for Projects. that way we need the MAP from plant stock.
In the Valuation Variant you can use a User Exit Strategy. The user exit's name is COPCP005
My Suggestion is:
Use the User Exit COPCP005 to calculate the { Total value / the total quantity (MAP) from QBEW + Total value / total quantity (MAP) from MBEW } / 2
which is the MAP for both plant and project stock together, since that we are going to use both.
Q: Is this correct !?

Idvd doens't find imovie project

I've saved a project in imovie. I've saved it in the same manner I've saved all the other movies I've done. I saved it to the same folder as all the other movies I've done. I even tried saving it again with a different name. I've restarted the compuer. The project is where it is supposed to be, I can see it. When I open IDVD and look under "media-movies" tab, it is not there. All the other projects that I've done are still there. I can go back to IMovie and open it back up and do whatever I want with it. But IDVD cannot find it.
I have this eerie feeling that I am missing some basic step., but I've gone over and over and can't find anything that I've done different that would cause this problem.

I think you are mixing up a couple of issues.
I find the DVDproj file but other than the opening screen and audio, it says it cannot find the Video and Audio files.
The project file has links to all the elements used in the project - move or delete any of the items and the project is 'broken'.
The img folders say VIDEO_TX AND AUDIO_TX which it doesn't recognize.
If you actually created a disk image file of the completed project out of iDVD (file type .img) you can use Apple's Disk Utility to burn the disk image to writable media. Burning a disk image file on a CD or DVD in Mac OS X at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93006 tells you how to do this.

Outlook and 9500 Sync but do not reflect updates

I have Outlook 2003 and the latest version of PC Suite (6.??).
WHen I syncronise, either via the 9500 or via the PC, they both reflect that updates have taken place for contacts and dummy calendar entries I have entered (some on the 9500 and others in Outlook's Calendar).
When I view the 9500 Calendar it shows all of the entries I made on the 9500 but has not imported any from Outlook even though the log states that 1 update was made.
My Psion 5mx used to sync in seconds!
Update:
Stranger still, One of the entries made by the Psion 5mx and then synced up to Outlook HAS copied across. It was a repeating day entry and my 9500 is reflecting this.
Arrrrrgh - I hate having new toys that I can't use!

Please try the following :
First you can reset the PC Suite profile on the phone. Herefore you go on the inner side of the device to Desk -> Tools -> Device management -> you will see here the PC Suite profile -> You press the Menu button and choose Delete
After this you press again the Menu button -> Tools -> Reinstate PC Suite profile.
After this you close device management, and reboot the phone, by removing the battery from the device during 10 seconds, and placing it back.
On your PC you remove the following directories :
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\PC Suite\ConfServer
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Nokia\ContentCopier
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Nokia\PCSync\SynchData
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Datalayer
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Phone Browser
(you replace %USERNAME% by the username with which you're logged in in Windows)
After this you reboot your computer and try again.
If this still fails the correct version number of PC Suite would help. You can find this in the main screen of PC Suite if you go to Help -> Info

Clips do not load into iMovie Project Browser

I have imported a full feature Creative Commons movie into iMovie to edit for a short music video. It downloaded in MP4 format and originally loaded into the Project browser but would not let me split clips. I've tried converting it to .MOV in MPEG Streamclip and now the clips don’t even show up in the Project Browser. I see the clips in the Event Browser but they will not load into Project Browser. I've tried converting it to .MOV in Quicktime where I was able to split a clip. I then tried to import that whole movie file into iMovie but it won’t import. What am I doing wrong?

When I have the iMovie Library (with the sub-file which iMovie-generated titled of “2015”) selected in the Sidebar the clips show in the Event Browser window but not in Project Browser window. The sub-file to “2015” is my movie name. When I select this file, the Event Browser goes black with white-lettered words: “No clips found.” There are no clips in the Project Browser as well.

IDVD not talking to iMovie

i run on Mac OSX 10.1.5 and when i updated my iMovie (free from the site) to 3.0.3 it stopped communicating with my iDVD 2.1 (which i now cannot update as there isn't one for my OS). is there a way to solve this or to "down grade" my iMovie?

Welcome to the forums,
Perhaps a workaround is to use the Import option in iDVD (under Preferences you can specify where iDVD looks for movies to import). I believe that version of iDVD also supports dragging and dropping the Quicktime version of your iMovie into the menu area of iDVD.
But you also should make sure your Quicktime is upgraded (should be free) to something compatible to iMovie3 (perhaps 6.5.3??) because Quicktime is the backbone to iMovie and iDVD.
