IDVD Project to the Web?

Am I able to post my iDVD project to the web somehow with all the features of the DVD?  Thank you!

Although, you can post video from a DVD on the web there's no conversion of the menu structure to a Quicktime movie from iDVD.

  • How to publish edge projects to the web?

I've never published edge projects to the web before.
Sorted the web settings out to what I need but wondering but do I need to upload the whole edge project file (with the edge project, edge includes etc) or just the publish folder?
    Thanks
    Robyn

    Hi Robyn
The contents of the publish folder is all what is needed to deploy.
PS: the publish folder might have two directories, 'Web' and '.oam', depending on your publish settings. For publishing projects to Web, You only need (all the) contents of the 'Web' directory. If you have uncheked the CDN option in publish settings, then edge_includes directory will be available in Published content.
I hope that answered your query.
    Thanks

  • I am trying to create a idvd project but the it does not while encoding the films, Why ?

I am trying to create an iDVD project. I create to sub menus and put small films in each sub menu. When it starts to create the project, while encoding the films, at one point to time it just stops abruptly. Why. I fail to understand. I I tried twice, and it happened the same. I have created the projects in the past, but it has worked just fine. This time it is behaving rather weird.
I went on to see the report and I feels it stops with a 32 bit film. I may be wrong, but could you please help ?

See  Bengt Wärleby's post in this topic for questions relating to encoding problems: Stage 4 Multiplexing - Media error in...: Apple Support Communities. He's the most knowledgeable if that area.

  • Why does my iDVD project skip the main menu screen when starting?

I just finished a movie in iMovie 09, chose iDVD from the iMovie menu, chose a theme, etc., all was fine, burned the DVD and it works great except it starts the movie instantly rather than showing the opening screen with the main menu.

When you export to iDVD from iMovie 09, iMovie usually creates an iDVD project in which your movie plays automatically before the main menu is shown. As SDUser has said, you can get rid of that behaviour by going into the DVD map and dragging out the very first item.
A hint: if you have chapter markers in your movie, and you are using a theme that has motion menus, open up the Inspector (the little i button bottom left in iDVD) and while you are in the Map view click on each menu. Take a look at the length of the menu loop. There is a bug in iDVD that often causes it to make ridiculously long menu loops (in one case 3 hours, even though the menu music clip was 30 seconds and the whole movie was under an hour). That will cause iDVD to take forever rendering your project, and will waste a lot of DVD space that you are need for your main movie. Just drag the slider back to a sensible menu loop length. But go back and check before you burn; as soon as you edit anything else in the menu (for example change the music background) the loop length will have to be fixed again.

  • I need help with exporting project for the web

Probably something i am doing wron g but here are the problems. When I use Quicktime Converter, if I try to convert to a Quicktime movie or an MPEG-4 nothing happens and i get a 'File error;File Unknown message' when i try to convert to an AVI File, it works, but even though I have already rendered the project, it shows up with little flashes of blue that say 'unrendered'. and finally, when I try to make it a w
Windows Media File, it stops after 29 seconds. Any ideas?
I have an iMac with dual core processor, and FCE HD 3.5.1. I have my video files on an external drive.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

perform a search using the term export for web and it should throw up some ideas.
    here's one for starters:

If you're using flip4mac to convert to wmv, the trial stops at 30 seconds - you need at least wmvstudio to export to wmv:

  • Burned iDVD project and the slideshow is messed up.

I made a project and played it on my computer to preview before it was burned and it was fine so I burned it. But when I put it in my DVD player and my Vaio, the slideshow portion of the DVD is messed up. Plus when I put it in my Mac it doesnt even play. There is a green screen where the transition WOULD have been, then one of the pictures comes up, green screen, then another picture, etc. So instead of my transition I have a green screen.
Also, this is the 2nd DVD I've burned. I changed the transition in the 1st one to see if that would solve the problem but my 2nd one is messed up too. On the first DVD I get weird iDVD images (icons, theme stuff, etc) that pop up randomly on the picture as the transition starts.
    What's up with this?

Before going any further, give this basic remedy a try. Quit iDVD and delete your iDVD preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.idvd.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iDVD; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
Do a verify and repair of permissions using Disk Utility.
As far as the disk image, I made one but my computer wont even play it.
Did you use your computer's DVD player? If you cannot find the player, use Spotlight to locate it. Look for "DVD player".
To view a disk image, first double-click on the icon for your project. Then open your DVD player by double-clicking on the icon in the applications folder. Another way to view the disc image is to open DVD Player in your Applications folder, then use its Open command to select your disc image.
Besides, I burned the disk image to a DVD and its just a file, not a playable DVD.
If the disk image does not play properly on your computer's DVD player, then the burned disk also will not work.
Did you use Disk Utility to burn the disk? A DVD that is burned via the Finder will not work on a standard DVD player.
For troubleshooting purposes, try to create a project using another account. Create the disk image, and see if you can get it to play. If things work correctly, then the problem lies within your account. If it persists, you might have to do a reinstall of iDVD.
    I hope this helps.

  • IMovie projects on the web

    Hi all,
1- I've shared the same project twice on my website. Once using Quicktime for computers & once exporting small (iPhone). When viewed on my iPhone, I see control bars (Pause & Playback) but not when I view the one exported using Quicktime for computers. Any ideas how I could get control bars for computer viewers (PC's & MAC's)?
Here are the links if they help
    http://www.firmimage.ca/10Staveley.php
    http://www.firmimage.ca/10Staveley-Small.php
    Thanks in advance.

Your Web based data shows dimensions of 640X400 and your file is actually 640X480.
    No controller will show.
Change the dimensions to 640X496. 16 extra pixels are needed for the controller.
You may also want to export the file to reduce the "raw" audio track as it is half as large as the video track. AAC at 128, stereo would shrink it to under 3 MB's in size.

  • FCP Project To The Web

I am trying to export a project from FCP to be viewed online
It will be upload it to an online web site: Blip.TV
I think they are converting it to a flash movie file > a file with extension. .flv
How do you suggest I’ll save/convert my project?
    Thank you,
    ~ Grace

If your are uploading to blip then you should find out from them how they want your file. If they are converting it to .flv (Flash Video) then they will want one thing (don;t know exactly what), but if they need an .flv file then you will need to use either Macromedia/Adobe Flash 8 or you will need to buy Sorenson Squeeze in order to compress it to .flv.
Check with Blip, each of these video sharing sites have different requirements.

  • Scale a project for the web

    Hi,
I've designed a greetings card that is 1022.23x1021px
I need to scale this because i want to make it a coming soon page for a future website
In which dimensions I need to scale the whole work (drawing/text) up/down to be seen on 4/3 and 16/9 monitors?
there are smartphone and tablets standard dimensions too I guess, do i need to create multiple artboards ?
As I explored Dreamweaver CS6 I noticed the dimensions are shown in the "design" view at the bottom for these devices, may be I could use them?
    Thanks

Just in case a visual will help you, here's a quick tutorial about scaling for web:
    1) Go to File > Save for Web
    2) This will open a dialog with lots of options for saving.
The area marked as "A" is where you would choose the file type for your image, which, as John said, would be a .gif or a .jpg, or a .png if your document has transparency.
The section Marked "B" is where you can easily resize your document. Unless you click on the chainlink icon beside the dimension boxes, your image will automatically retain its proportions when you enter a new value for height or width. Also be sure to tick the "Clip to Artboard" option so you don't get any extra objects that may be lingering in your workspace.
I would also agree with John when he says to recompose in an artboard in the desired dimensions of your final image intended for web. And you're exactly right about the multiple artboards for different devices. In the screen shot below, I have an artboard in the dimensions of your original document (1022x1021) and one for the dimensions of an iPhone screen. This makes it really easy to modify compositions based on the sizes and proportions of different devices.
Here is a link about preparing graphics for multiple devices: http://codebycoffee.com/2010/12/08/preparing-graphics-for-multiple-mobile-platforms/
I hope this helps! If you need more web assistance, don't hesitate to post in the Dreamweaver forum!

  • Developer 6/6i Sample Projects on the Web

    Good Day
Do Anybody of you know where I can find any sample prjects of Forms & Reports on the net.
If so please tell me the URL.
Thanks a lot and happy new year
    Tariq

You mean Developer Release 2? You may search with "forms", "reports"
in store.oracle.com. I found Forms Bulider available in Oracle store. I didn't
try for the other components in Developer. Another point: For the purpose of
learning it's better to buy a product with "Trial License". I'm sure you are aware
    of that.

  • How do I access files within projects of the same web application?

    Using JDeveloper Studio 11.1.1.1.0
I'm creating a web application using the Model-View-Controller design pattern. Model represents data, View represents data display, and Controller is control...
In my application, I created two projects: EJBModel and UserInterface. EJBModel contains the model aspect so it has entity objects and beans to access/manipulate the data. The UserInterface project stores the web interface - mostly jsps. In the UserInterface project, I need a managed bean that calls methods from the beans created in the EJBModel project. I can do this using the @EJB annotation and creating an instance of the class, but since the files are in separate projects that can't see each other and JDeveloper shows an error because it can't find the necessary file. It is best practice to create two projects as it keeps both elements distinct.
So I wanted to know the best way to access the files stored in separate projects within the same application. Is there a way to package them together?
    Thanks...

In the UI project, go to project properties->dependencies and add a dependency on the model project.
This way JDeveloper will know what classes you are referencing.

  • Burnt IDVD project, but unable to reburn the burnt dvd?

Ive finished an idvd project burnt it to a dvd, and that works fine which is great, but nieve me deleted the idvd project on the computer thinking i would be able to just burn copies off the one dvd cd copy ive got, but it is appearing impossible? It just burns a bunch of useless files that are not viewable. Is this normal? If not what format changes do i have to make to be able burn a burnt dvd?

Yes, you are correct that you can use third-party software to rip content from a burned DVD disk. You can use Handbrake, Ripit or something like that if you need to re-edit the content of the burned DVD, but you will take a quality loss as the data has to be uncompressed and then recompressed to burn a new DVD.
This person just wanted to know how to burn another DVD of the same; therefore, we gave instructions for how to burn it from the previously burned DVD disk. There is no loss of quality this way.

  • IDVD to the web.

Is there any way to post something created in IDVD 08 to the web? I know that with I Movie 08 you can, however, I like the themes of IDVD better. Any advice?

What would you recommend that I use to create a slideshow (that I am able to post on the web) that has more items to choose from than just using I Movie '08. I just don't feel that it is meeting my creative needs.
any editor can export to web compatibke formats ..
and what do you mean by 'items'? effects? does a ready-made preset meet YOUR creative needs?
a prefectly edited movie doesn't need any.. it's you who adds repeats, jump-cuts, accents, pace, drama, cut-to-music ..
.. I have only stills and need to make a final presentation to a group of people- photojournaling. I want it to stand out ..
you're outstanding by your photos ... no 'effects' make photojournaling outstanding. why got Mr Ken Burns so well-known? .. not because of 'effect', but by using a 40y old technique (='gliding' across stills) in a intelligent and excellent way.. he got famous by making a documentary movie with pics from a time, when 'moving images' wasn't inventent..
if you look for 'options', the Windows apps offer you much more than any Mac app..
    .. +dancing, colorful Comic Sans.. shiver+ ..

  • How do I burn a iDVD project on more than one computer?

I created an iDVD (7.1.2) project with three elements. Two iMovies made from iMovie '11 and a presentation made from Keynote (5.1.1).
I deleted the chapters in the slide show to help simplify matters and it did cut down on my burning/processing time.
I made this iDVD project for my son's 5th grade graduation. We would like to burn 135 copies to give each family one 'favor/dvd' for memory keepsake.
I do not want to burn 135 copies on my Superdrive (new to owning a mac) and do not want to ruin my Superdrive for a school project.
I can not take this to a commericial duplicater because of copyright issues with the music. We are not selling the copies, just giving a memory keepsake to the kids- of the year and the slide show from graduation, the other iMovie in iDVD, just contains one page of specifications; like my contact info and songs used etc..
I have parents that are willing to help me copy the movie, however I don't know how to do this?
I don't believe any of these parents have iDVD.
Someone mentioned through all my readings on apple communities and google, making an "ISO" of your project then anyone can make a copy of your movie on any platform: PC or Mac. What is an ISO? How do I make a ISO?
If I have a .img file from saving a disc image - would I burn the .img file to a dvd and give it to someone else to copy? Are there other files that need to go with my .img file?
If/When someone takes my .img file and puts it on their computer how do they copy it? Do they need burning software?
Can I just give a friend a burned DVD of my movie to burn copies on their computer?
What I tried: Bought a LaCie burner to use a external drive vs. my (Superdrive - worried about overuse). Saved project as a "Disc Image." Mounted to my Finder and then burned to external drive with disc utility. This worked successfully 4 times in a row then kept getting message "unsuccessful burn" I took the drive back to Fry's. Not sure if it was the drive?
Any advice to a newcomer would be great!
Summer has already begun and I would like to finish this project as soon as I can.
    Thanks so much, Deanna

Yes, you can distribute a burned disk of the project to those who can create duplicate disks.  Or create a disk image of the iDVD project using the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
Then you can distribute the disk image to those who will burn the disks.  For PCs you'll have to convert the .dmg file to a .iso file so they can burn it.  This website describer how: Mac Help - Convert and Burn Mac .dmg or .img to .iso Windows PC-Compatible Disk Image
Suggest to them to burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
It would be prudent to rest your optical drive for about 30 minutes after burning 3 disks in a row. That will give the laser time to cool down before you start another batch.
