IDVD Sub Menu Button Thumbnails Not 'Sticking'

I've searched on here and there seems to be lots of people having lots of problems but not the problem I'm having.
I have been using iDVD for a number of years and have generally been pretty happy with it. This is the first time I have used iDVD '08 and it has been problem after problem. I have finally almost finished my project and now I'm stuck. I have tried to changed the images on some sub menu buttons but as soon as I go to a different sub menu or view the buttons change back to a generic sub menu icon or folder icon. This has really got me stumped now.
Any ideas?

Have you tried a drag and drop of iDvd's pref file to the trash and restarting your laptop?
com.apple.iDvd.plist
Use the finder to look for this item/s and then drag it to the trash. It often helps to simply restart your computer and try again.
Good luck.

You are using a Spry menubar widget. Spry was created pre-touch-screen systems and hence not designed for touch screens.
There are a number of solutions available to you
    1. Don't have an active link on the main menu item
    2. Place submenus in the page that is opened by the main menu item, e.g. as a vertical menu
    3. Use Spry Menu Bar ver 2.0
    3. Use a different menu system that is geared to accommodate touch screens
Because of the demise of Spry, see here http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/08/update-on-adobe-spry-framework-availability.htm l, option 3 looks like the best option.
There are a number of free-of-charge jQuery menubars, you could also opt for one of the commercial menubars such as PVII, WebAssist or DMXZone

  • Why can't I open items in iDVD sub menu & Open Existing project lists?

Recently I installed *Jam Pack-Music of the World*. Since then, my iMac experienced one Kernal Panic while I was using iMovie. Later I tried to burn the movie I had been working on, iDVD got stuck at audio encoding and then quit unexpectedly a while later. When I tried to +'Open Existing project'+ in iDVD, I noticed the list of files in the *Movie folder* of the iDVD dialogue window are shaded grey and could not be opened. (They could however be opened from the *Documents foder* where they are shown as .dvdproject files.) Additionally it became clear that about 40-50 GB of storage space on the hard drive had been lost. I have also noticed that the items listed in the *iDVD sub menu* (tool bar) are also grey and cannot be opened - although if I first open a project from the documents folder these items then show black and can be opened. I've had my iMac for 18 months and had no real problems till now. I'm new to computing and at a loss as to what's happened and how to rectify it.

I don't purport to be an expert, but since you have not gotten a response as yet, I'll give you my comment.
If you got a Kernal Panic, your computer is in need of some maintenance. The following recipe is from one of the gurus on the iMovie formum in a different context. " Restart from your install disk (by holding down the C key as you restart), and go to Disk Utility, then repair the hard disk. Restart as normal and then repair permissions from the same utility."
Make sure that you have enough free space on your hard drive for these programs to work -- at least 15GB and better 25GB.
You could also try uninstalling Jam Pack-Music of the World, and see if that clears up the problem.
    Good luck.

Code errors could explain the problem.  You're missing a closing </div> tag for container.

    1. Restore requires replacing everything I had on my iPod, right?
    2. Do you do anything else other than reply to Discussions, or is there a reward for having this many posts?
    3. The problem resolved itself after having been turned off for twenty-four hours.

  • The menu button is not working on my iPod Nano

I cannot get back from anywhere. Once I have seleceted a track to play, the menu button does not work so that I cannot get back to all music or to choose other options such as radio. • Since upgrade to v29, pinned tabs don't appear and sometimes all tabs don't appear and open menu button does not work

My pinned tabs don't appear at any start and at some starts, I don't see the bookmarks toolbar (I can restore that by removing it from view-toolbars and then reselecting it). when this happens, FF also does not show any tabs and the Menu button does not work.
I have tried various suggestions found on here like deleting the sessionstore.js and re-installing FF, also tried disabling hardware acceleration in safe mode and still have the same problems.
Am reluctant to reset FF in case I lose my favourites and Bookmarks, is there anything else I can try?

Firefox may not have closed properly.<br />
You can try to update to Firefox 29.0.1 to be released tomorrow (Friday) to see if that helps with this issue.

  • Buttons blend into background. Open menu button does not produce a menu.

Progress button, home button, back button, bookmark this page, show your bookmarks and open menu buttons are present, but you can not see them. Open menu button does not produce a pop up menu.

    .Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

  • MouseListener for mousedown function in sub-menu buttons

Hello people, sorry to ask this as i am quite new to using AS
    in flash, im using AS2.
Basically i have a menu which appears on a mouseover on a
button, on this menu i have some buttons. These buttons need to
have the function that when the user clicks and holds down the
mouse button it moves through an animation frame by frame.
i understand the basica principal of:
    var mouseListener:object = newObject ();
    then calling it
    mouseListener.onMouseDown = function() {
    imgBar.prevFrame();
if you see my attached code you will see this is basically
it, i will attach the code that i have on the top level of my flash
file, the onPress functions currently work but i need them replaced
    with onMouseDown.
As i said i am quite new to this so i appologise if this is a
    noobish error.
Thanks for you time and help.

I'm not sure what "i-apps" is. Could you let me know?
    iPhoto, iTunes, iDVD, iMovie, etc.
I tried to do the two suggestions at the link from Glo H. First, I dragged out the song and then the background music that was in there. When I clicked on the black audio icon, no sound waves appeared.
I think it is just this sub-menu in this one particular theme that is having a problem.
Drag the music of your choice to the audio well, and look at the slider for menu volume. Is it to the far left, for "minimum"? If it is, move it to the middle.
If the problem persists, give this basic remedy a try. Quit iDVD and delete your iDVD preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.idvd.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iDVD; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.

  • IDVD 6: Menu buttons don't show up from iDVD 5 project

I have an iDVD 5 project that I opened in iDVD 6. It consists of 3 slideshows. (There was an issue with it not seeing the iPhoto 6 photos, but that's another issue I posted in the iPhoto forum.)
The buttons that show the slideshows do not show up in iDVD 6. But if I go to map view, the slideshows show up and I can go into them and see all the slides are there and I can preview them. (Well, when it doesn't crash.)
I tried creating new menus but those don't show up either (although, oddly enough, at one point I added a new menu and the title of one of the slideshows showed up!). This project had the Travel theme in iDVD 5.
So in summary: the menu buttons to start the slideshows don't show up when I open the project in iDVD 6. They also don't show up in the title (main) menu when I preview it in iDVD 6. I haven't yet tried actually burning a DVD.
    Any suggestions?

The -34506 error. Welcome to a world of frustration and wasted evenings. There are plenty of threads here with suggestions on 'rules' for setting up your slideshows in iMovie, clearing caches, creating new users etc. These have fixed this particular error for some people.
    Good luck!
    Simon
    ## Oops! - I should have read your post more carefully the first time. Hey, at least you have a new number, even if it does provide as little real information as to what the source of the error is as the one I mention!
