IE 10 Update 2977629 on Windows 7 x64 SP1 repeatedly fails to install.

IE 10 Update 2977629 on Windows 7 x64 SP1 repeatedly fails to install with error code 214794205 "Access is Denied".  This update is being run using an administrator account.  This is a systemic issue on all domain joined systems, desktops
not in a domain are not affected.  I cannot find any guidance on how to fix this, please help!

Hi,
Based on your description, ED's suggestion is available. You could use gpresult command to export the group policy settings to check if there any group policy affect the installation.
About how to use it, please read the guide below:
How to Use the Group Policy Results (GPResult.exe) Command Line Tool
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb456989.aspx
If it's not helpful, please provide the Windows Update installation log in order to analyze it.
You could find it from the following path:
%windir%\Windowsupdate.log

  • No PKCS#11 support in JDK 6 Update 14 for Windows x64?

    Hi there,
I successfully installed GlassFish 2.1 on Windows 2008 x64 with JDK 6 Update 13 for x64. Everything was ok until I wanted to access my USB token with a certificate on it trough an EJB.
I then had to reinstall everything based on 32-bit versions. Now it works again, but I'm not very satisfied with the solution because I wanted to have everything based 64-bit.
Why JDK 6 Update 14 for Windows x64 does not contain PKCS#11 support? When you have look to the x86 version support is available there.

If you load successfully your pkcs11 lib into java 32bit mean that the lib is 32bit.
    You cannot load a 32bit native lib into java 64bit ( http://java.sun.com/docs/hotspot/HotSpotFAQ.html#64bit_native_porting ).
If you find the 64bit lib for your token, you should be able to use java64.

  • Update WUA on Windows 7 SP1 Clients to 7.6.7600.320

    Hi All
We have an SCCM 2012 R2 CU 2 environment with a CAS and a Primary Server
One SUP (SUP1) is connected to the internet and  is used as upstream server for another SUP Server (SUP2) , our clients connect to SUP2
Our clients are all Windows 7 SP1 , the SUP servers run “Windows Server Update Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2)”
I noticed the following article to update the WUA on my client computers to version 7.6.7600.320
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2014/07/14/how-to-install-the-windows-update-agent-on-client-computers.aspx
But I don’t want to update this agent with a package but I want to update this agent with the WSUS/SUP functionality of automatically update this client to the newest version
Is the following approach valid ?
Download Update for Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2 (KB2938066) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=43633
Install this update on our SUP1 (connected to the internet)
    Synchronise
Install this update on our SUP2
    Synchronise
Afterwards the clients will connect to SUP2 and will install the newest WUA 7.6.7600.320 automatically
I hope someone can answer this if this approach is valid?
    Thx in advance
    Regards
    Johan

  • ID Windows 6.0.4: "Failed to Install"

    Hi,
I just downloaded the ID Win 6.0.4 update. When I try to use it on my ID 6.0 installation (Win XP SP2) I get a cryptic "Failed to install" message from the Adobe updater.
Any ideas? I rebooted and tried it again: same results.
    Thanks,
    Larry

You'll probably have to uninstall and then Run the CS4 Clean Scriptand then reinstall and try again. Make sure you are logged in as an administrator, and turn off virus scanners and other background programs.

  • How do i update or install Windows XP sp3 onto a Windows XP sp1 which is already installed on my Imac version 10.4.11?

I really hope somebody can help me with my problem because its really getting on my nerves and im not really that "computer compatible"....... ha ha ha...
When I bought this Imac from my friend he already installed everything needed to run Windows xp BUT the problem is that it is SP1 and i want to put SP3 or if its better Windows 7 what do you think? For the last few months it really gives me a lot of errors en problems and it got VERY VERY slow now!!!
If im not wrong I know that on a normal Windows operating system when you go thru the things I when thru (errors and problems) you just backup and format and re-install the Windows?!?!?!?
AND here comes the real problem, my Mac's DVD ROM does not want to read CD's or DVD's anymore.... somehow it broke I still need to replace it...
so now I also need a way that I can do all this without a CD or DVD needed. im not shore if there may be a way to do it with a flash drive or external HDD or something...
Thank you very much if anyone can help me...
    Kind Regards

If your DVD drive no longer works then there is No way to install any Windows OS version. Apple has made it so Windows will only install from the Internal DVD drive. So you better stay with XP. Even if you wanted to upgrade to Snow Leopard you would need a working DVD drive to do that. you may be able to install Snow Leopard from an External DVD drive that connects to a USB port but I'm not sure you can use that external DVD to install Win 7.
With your system you are better off staying where you are as far as the OS X and the Windows version you are now using. Except updating XP to SP3.
If you really need Win 7, which at this time there are No programs that run on Win 7 that will not run on XP (Maybe MS Office 2013 but other then that no program NEEDS Win 7 or Win 8 to install or run) you'd be better off buying a new computer, Mac or a Win PC. If Windows is your Main Operating system then you might consider buying a Real Win PC.

  • Security Update (KB954430) repeatedly fails to install (Code 64C)

    Things I have tried:
    - hotfix tool
    - disabling virus protection
    - downloading and manually installing the update (Error: the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.)
    - downloading and running this update: Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64.msu
    - update from Windows Install DVD (I think this is called an in-place install)
I fear I will have to format and reinstall Windows and all my programs. Is there anything else I can try? Is it terribly risky to simply continue working without this update?

    Method 1:
Follow the instructions in the link below to rename Software distribution and catroot folders and try to install the service pack.
You cannot install some updates or programs

    Method 3:
Perform System File Checker (SFC) scan which will help you in resolving the issue.
To determine whether the issue that you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows Vista, run the System File Checker tool. The System File Checker tool scans system files and replaces

  • Officejet H 470 windows 8.1 driver fails to install

I downloaded the full feature software driver for windows 8.1 for my officejet H 470.
When I run the downloaded exe file the software "cannot find the file" and closes out.  it doesn't ask for a CD.  It is looking in a temporary file on my harddrive.  If I close the message the software closes down and the driver doesn' install.  if I ignore the box nothing happens -- the software continues to look for the missing file for ever....
    What is the solution?

Cheetah12: thank you for your interest in my problem.
I went back to the supermario advice.  If isn't for the same printer nor the same missing file.  My missing file is:
    File Name: C:\Windows\system3hpzprl40.exe -inf-mPreload_Drivers\Msiexec.exe
However, I did try some of the advice.  I ran the L3uninstall.bat [twice].  I definitely do not have any of the old printer files on my new laptop.
I tried to reinstall the updated driver from the HP website and it still will not install.
I have also run the disk cleanup in "administrative tools" [Supermario wrote in "System tools"]
Nothing has worked.  I have rebooted my laptop as required and tried installing the driver from HP and I still get the same issue .  I have a screen shot of the box if it is of interest to you.

  • Why does Acrobat Pro 11.0.7 updates repeatedly fail to install?

Why am I suddenly getting the error every time autoupdate runs? This just started. I tried uninstalling as directed. When I try to download my previously purchased COMPLETE application, nothing happens. Downloading from the Adobe site gives me an application that Adobe wants me to spend $14 on EVERY month. I've already paid for this application once - I'll be damned if I will pay again. I run Mavericks 10.9.5. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

Try http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (or MAC). With XI, you just go ahead and install the latest. It indicates the update applies to any previous updates. For previous versions of Acrobat. most of the updates had to be installed in order. When you do the installation, be sure to be logged in as the administrator (as when you installed the original XI) and have anti-virus disabled.

       at System.Management.ManagementScope.InitializeGuts(Object o)
       at System.Management.ManagementScope.Initialize()
       at System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher.Initialize()
       at System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher.Get()
       at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.Setup.Common.SetupValidationHelpers.GetRemoteOSVersion(String remoteComputer)
[15:03:28]: Debug: :IsSQLOnAValidComputer: remote OS version string was null or empty.
Notice the last line - IsSQLOnAValidComputer is null/empty.  The solutions I found are to open the ports between these servers but the SQL server and SCOM server are on the same network - no firewall between them.  The registry key for domain firewall
policy to 'EnableFirewall' is 0.  The firewall service is disabled on both machines.
I am running the installation as a domain service account - for the DAA.  It has local admin on the SQL and SCOM server.  It has sysadmin DB access to the instance.
    SCOM Server:
    Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1
    SQL Server:
    Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 | SQL 2012 RM 64-bit version 11.0.2100.60
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Glad to hear the issue has been resolved. Thanks for the update.

  • Windows 8.1 Pro, failed to install Hyper-V, reverting changes

    Hi,
I'm trying to install Hyper-V, but I'm unable to do it. After rebooting my PC after adding the feature, update goes to 95% and shows the message that changes are being reverted.
    Can someone help me?
    I attach my CBS.log:

Please verify that your machine supports SLAT, virtualization (VT/V), and Data Execution Prevention.
Virtualization and DEP can usually be enabled in the BIOS and then the machine needs to be cold booted (pull the battery if it is a laptop).
SLAT is a dependency of your processor.
