IE 11 and SSRS Print Button

HI,
I would like to ask a couple of questions here.
1. We have been using Sql Server 2008 R2 and its reporting services engine.
In the application we used Report Viewer (version 9).
When the report is taken for the first time, couple of messages pops up.
a. Unable to Load print control
b. Install Sql Server Reporting Services 2008 R2.
These messages are fine, but we noticed that the second message is not consistent. When the application is deployed in staging server which is as same as the production server except for the power (CPU, RAM), the second message is "Install Sql Server
2008".
Why is this happening?
2. To support IE 11, we upgraded the Report viewer to version 11.
Now the messages are different.
a. Printing is not available. Verify that ActiveX is enabled or try using IE from the desktop
b. Install Sql Server Reporting Services 2008 R2. (Here again when deployed in staging server it says "Install Sql Server 2008").
Could anyone throw me some light on this...
Thanks

Hi Anup,
When we print a report for the first time from the client, we always run into a Security Warning that window prompts us to install Microsoft SQL Server, which requires us to download an ActiveX control for printing reports.
To fix this issue, enable the setting Download signed ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer so that we can install the required control. For more details, please see:
Click Tools -> Internet options.
Switch to the Security tab, select the Trusted sites zone, and then click Sites.
Type the URL of the SQL reporting server, click Add, and then click Close.
Click the Custom level button, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins node.
Click Enable for Download signed ActiveX controls, and then click OK.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong

I have reports in SSRS. I am using remote reports. Reports have multiple pages.

    Hello,
The common workaround about print button on ReportViewer control for non-IE browsers is add ActiveX print control or create Print function. It has pros and cons.
I am not good at programming. But you can try to disable page breaks by setting InteractiveHeight to 0 so that the report will rendering in single page with Report Viewer control.

  • Help on print button for interactive report

    Hi,
I have created an interactive report and have also added a print button on the button of the report (unfortunately forgot how I did it). Say my column on the reports was Col_No, Col_First_name, Col_Last_name and a print button when I pressed a would get to choose open or save a pdf file, if I opened or saved it, I would had the same info on my pdf report as above.
Since I have changed the column order meaning I have Col_No, Col_Last_name, Col_Start_Date, Col_First_name and that is working fine but when I click on the print button I will get the pervious columns.
I noticed I have created a branches to print the report, basically after processing, when button was pressed an action with f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=6259824360775969936:&DEBUG.::: is present.
I need help to fix this and I do very much appreciate any help or suggestions

  • Trying to print notation in GarageBand, the print button is not 'clickable'

I just picked up a M-Audio Keystation, plugged it in, Garageband recognized immediately, played some music, saved file, then when I try to print notation, the *print button is all gray* and not 'clickable'. I check in other programs and the print button works fine... ANY IDEAS? Printing notation was my main purpose of buying this keyboard and using GB.

Okay, figured it out... Click on the track, then the track editor. Change the track editor view from graphic view to notation view, then the print button works... WHEW! What a workout just to print notation view!

  • SAP Portal - MSS - Team Calendar - Print Button

    Hi Everyone,
My question today is about the behaviours our support team has noticed since rolling out MSS team calendar.  When managers click on print in the iview dropdown menu it opens another window, but the print software is not initiated and no print buttons are visible.  If you do not right click on the screen and force the print command nothing happens.
I can see why this is confusing to the users.  I would expect it to go straight to your default printer software or to open a popup and initiate the default printer software without having to right click on the screen and select print.
How should this behave?  Is this an OSS issue or standard for this button?
    Thank you in advance,
    Doug

Everything I want seems to be in EHP 5.   We are just using the delivered iviews for Team Calendar that links with MSS and Leave Request.  (ESS > Service Specific > Working Time > Team Calendar)  There is a standard print dropdown option, but it appears to simply open another window.  This does not meet our needs because users don't intuitively know to right click and select print.
I will look at the note you listed.  Its just funny that SAP would have a print button that simply opens another window.  Seems pointless.  I do recognize that being on EPH 3 that we could be missing out on some good tools.
    Thanks,
    Doug

  • Print button disappeared

I published a form online with a print button. I used the print button offered in the conversion mode - not the one I could add from design mode. When I re-tested two days later using Internet Explorer 7, the button was missing. I re-opened the form from my file copy of the web site's public_html file (on my desktop) in live-cycle designer to add the print button and found the print button was visible exactly where I placed it. I returned to the web site using my Firefox browser and the print button was still missing from the form.
    Now what? Anybody? Kindly?
I have been using Acrobat 8 Professional since late last winter and this is the first glitch I am aware of.

No this did not solve my problem. The buttons that I can choose from are applications such as facebook, maxim, scientific calculator, amazon shopper, craigs list, currency converter, etc.
I just want to have my print button back.
    Please help!
    Thank you,

  • Creating a print button to call a Report Query and pass filters

If i use the REPORT QUERY option in APEX 4 to create an statement that is the same one used in an interactive report, can I create a link or button to the REPORT QUERY and pass all the session and filter information from the interactive report to the report query?
This way I can have the interactive report screen where the user can do all sorts of modifications and such and then pass those to the REPORT QUERY so I can call that from a custom link or button.
You may ask "why does he need another print button?"
Answer: I am using a view that has some embedded HTML tags to format the output really nicely. The HTML download version created by the interactive reports works beautifully. The customer also wants a PDF version (meh) which does not render the HTML tags and actually echos them as part of the text. I found that I can create another view that uses the CHR function to create all the breaks and such I was doing with HTML and these do render properly in PDF. So, I figured just have 2 reports: 1 Interactive and 1 using a REPORT QUERY. I just want to call the REPORT QUERY version but use the Interactive Search form to set all the parameters.
Or, am I over thinking this and there is an easier method?
I made a previous post where I showed how I got the APEX printing to work and i hoped that helped someone out - fixing this issue would put the whole thing to rest.
    Thanks

Is BI Publisher desktop (MS Word add-in) a possibility? This would allow you to use MS Word to create your output template (RTF) that would result in a properly formatted PDF. Of course, you'd have to right an updated version of the query without HTML embedded. Just thinking outside of the box.

  • Print, Export and Page Navigation Buttons in the Report

When I view a report through CR4E, the generated report has 3 buttons namely Print, Export and Page Navigation buttons. But when I click on either of the buttons I get a 'null pointer exception'. This is a critical error as I am unable to navigate past the first page. Do I have to add code to these buttons? If not, why am I getting an error? Kindly solve my problem as soon as possible.

    <p>Looking at your code it appears that you are storing the ReportSource in session prior to passing in the ResultSet. This will create a problem when a postback is made on  the viewer page (which all of the viewer actions do). If you look at the sample code which is generated when you use the JSP Page Wizard you will notice that the ResultSet is passed to the ReportClientDocument object prior to it being stored in session. Then, when the page is called again this object is retrieved and the ReportSource is used by the viewer. You can quickly run the test using one of our sample reports to see what I am talking about. The code below was generated using the Consolidated Balance Sheet.rpt and did not experience any problems doing any of the viewer actions.</p><%@page import="com.businessobjects.samples.JRCHelperSample,<br />com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.CrystalReportViewer,<br />com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.ReportClientDocument,<br />com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.OpenReportOptions,<br />com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKExceptionBase,<br />com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.reportsource.IReportSource,<br />java.sql.Connection,<br />java.sql.DriverManager,<br />java.sql.ResultSet,<br />java.sql.SQLException,<br />java.sql.Statement"%><%<br /><br /><br />    try {<br /><br />        String reportName = "Sample Reports/Consolidated Balance Sheet.rpt";<br />        ReportClientDocument clientDoc = (ReportClientDocument) session.getAttribute(reportName);<br /><br />        if (clientDoc == null) {<br /><br />            clientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();<br />            <br />            // Open report<br />            clientDoc.open(reportName, OpenReportOptions._openAsReadOnly);<br /><br />  <br />            {<br />                // **** POPULATE MAIN REPORT ****<br />                {<br />                     // Connection Info for fetching the resultSet<br />                    String connectStr = "jdbc:derby:classpath:/Xtreme";<br />                    String driverName = "org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver";<br />                    String userName = "dbuser";        // TODO: Fill in database user<br />                    String password = "dbpassword";    // TODO: Fill in valid password<br /><br />                    String query = "SELECT CUSTOMER_NAME FROM APP.CUSTOMER WHERE COUNTRY = &#39;Australia&#39;";<br /><br />                    <br />                    String tableAlias = "FINANCIALS";        // TODO: Change to correct table alias<br /><br />                     <br />                    JRCHelperSample.passResultSet(clientDoc, fetchResultSet(driverName, connectStr, userName, password, query),<br />                        tableAlias, "");<br />                }<br /><br /><br />            }<br />        <br />            // Store the report document in session<br />            session.setAttribute(reportName, clientDoc);<br /><br />        }<br /><br /><br />            {<br />                // Create the CrystalReportViewer object<br />                CrystalReportViewer crystalReportPageViewer = new CrystalReportViewer();<br /><br />                //    set the reportsource property of the viewer<br />                IReportSource reportSource = clientDoc.getReportSource();                <br />                crystalReportPageViewer.setReportSource(reportSource);<br /><br />                // set viewer attributes<br />                crystalReportPageViewer.setOwnPage(true);<br />                crystalReportPageViewer.setOwnForm(true);<br /><br />                // Process the report<br />                crystalReportPageViewer.processHttpRequest(request, response, application, null); <br /><br />            }<br />            <br /><br />    } catch (ReportSDKExceptionBase e) {<br />        out.println(e);<br />    } <br />    <br />%><%!<br />// Simple utility function for obtaining result sets that will be pushed into the report.  <br />// This is just standard querying of a Java result set and does NOT involve any <br />// Crystal JRC SDK functions. <br /><br />    private static ResultSet fetchResultSet(String driverName,<br />            String connectStr, String userName, String password, String query) throws SQLException, ClassNotFoundException {<br /><br />        //Load JDBC driver for the database that will be queried    <br />        Class.forName(driverName);<br /><br />        Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection(connectStr, userName, password);<br />        Statement statement = connection.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);<br /><br />        //Execute query and return result sets<br />        return statement.executeQuery(query);<br /><br />}%><p>Try using the code generated from the wizard to see if it works for you as well. </p><p>Regards,<br />Sean Johnson (CR4E Product Manager) </p>

  • I cannot find a print button on the toolbar and therefore cannot print sometimes from the web

When I use internet explorer there is a "print" button on the tool bar, but there is not on Mozilla and cannot find anywhere to add it to the toolbar.

    hi, how are you?
To show the print button in the tool bar, do this.
go to View option, then toolbars, and then customise, and a popup window will appear, in that window look for a print button, (i think that is the last of the first row) click on it, and drag it to the toolbar
