IE 11 Does not load pages and "Stops Responding" After 11/26/2013 Windows Update

I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. IE 11. (Doesn't matter if I try to open 32 or 64 bit IE)
I keep Automatic Updates on and they install as soon as they are available.
Everything on my PC was running fine 11/25/13.
I came to it 11/26/13 after Windows Updates ran and now whenever I open any webpages, it does not load the web page 100%, no hyperlinks can be clicked on and once you attempt to click on anything. I get the "IE 11 has stopped responding" bubble.
It also seemed to affect Firefox which does not completely load pages either.
Any shove in the correct way to help solve this would be helpful.

Robert -
Anyone who has gathered over 13,000 points is certainly to be respected as being super smart and uber helpful.  However, your response is inadequate on two counts.
First, "stopped working" is not an inexact phrase, nor is it a euphemism trotted out by a newbie who hasn't the skill to describe the problem accurately. "stopped working" is an exact part of the error message issued by Windows.  Of course it would
help if Windows would issue error messages that are more useful, but that is a different issue. For the purposes of this discussion, "stopped working" as part of the exact error message is a useful piece of information.
Second, despite your excellent suggestions for hunting down the problem, I'm guessing that few people here have the time or inclination to be beta testers for Microsoft.  Even if the exact cause is found, it is not likely that anyone here will
be able to fix the problem.  There are literally hundreds of people complaining about this problem in multiple forums.  If you know your consumer behavior metrics, then you know that means tens of thousands are affected.  This is systemic, not
a random problem on a few errant machines.  Microsoft needs to know that they have a major problem on their hands and they need to fix it.  I saw this problem starting with IE 10.  Is it any wonder that in that time, IE usage has fallen greatly
while Chrome has become the dominant browser?  (The only reason I am bothering to write instead of just shifting to Chrome is that Chrome also has its bugs, one of which affects a web app I use several times a week, so I need a functioning version of
IE.)
So thanks Robert for all your help in the past, but this response isn't helpful.
Microsoft, are you listening?  Fix your browser.

  • ITunes does not open preferences and stops responding

Hi! Whenever I open iTunes, it works fine but whenever I plug in my iPad, it stops responding. I read online that I have to go into preferences and some other stuff to fix it but when I try to go into preferences, it stops responding and doesn't come back. I have reinstalled iTunes many times and searched up different places but to no avail. Is there any way I can fix this?
    (Btw, iTunes is fully updated)

  • Can I move my iWeb from mac-mini to my new macbook pro ? iLife 11 does not have iWeb and I really want to use it to update my website on my new macbook Pro instead of Mac mini

Can I move my iWeb from mac-mini to my new macbook pro ? iLife 11 does not have iWeb and I really want to use it to update my website on my new macbook Pro instead of Mac mini

There is no license required for iWeb.  Just do a Wyodor suggested and you'll be ready to go. If you're running Lion however, consider the following:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • OS X Lion--Safari does not load pages. Updated OS X Lion and Safari does not function

I updated to OS X Lion and now Safari does not load any pages.

Actually there would be more than two possible reasons, but I appreciate your input.  To answer your questions, YES and YES.  All other machines and devices in the vicinity als work flawlessly though have not been upgraded (?) to Lion.
After the install of Lion, Safari stopped working.  It loads a page OK then with no movement on my part it goes to a grey screen with the indicated message.   I force a reload and it may or may not work, then suddenly goes to the same grey screen again.  Over and over again.  I haven't lost connection, not have I lost DNS connectivity.   The program after upgrade has failed and Safari is telling me in a manner which I have never seen before that it cannot load the page, despite the facxt that it has already loaded and then lost on its own.  When I boot from a backup Snow Leopard Disk it reverts to a functional system with Safari Ok.  I have removed all remnents of Safari and restored with same problem.
Of course, one cannot go back from Lion and Safari 5.1 will not install on Lion so the problem would seem to be uniquely particular to the upgrade as repeated by many others on the net.
I'm open for suggestions but not accepting the possibility of a software glitch is no help.
    Thanks again,

  • Firefox does not load pages, comes back with server not found

First I thought this was a problem with Firefox 4 beta but now I am having the same issue with 3.6.16
About 70% of the times, Firefox does not open the web page and comes back with "Server not found" message. Interesting thing is it comes back with this message on the first 2 tries and then on the third try for the same link it will display the page. Always, 2 fails and 3rd time it works. Now during the first two times, internet commnection is working and if I try the same URL on IE it works without any issues. This started happening after I tried Firefox 4 beta. 4 is not uninstalled and I am back to 3.6.16. But the issue remains.
I am using Win 7 64 Home Premium, SP1 is not applied yet but all updates are in place.

Well, I'm using Firefox 4.0 and have the same problem. I tried to open my private homepage and my *.net-domain comes back with the "Server not found" message (my *.com-domain loads without any problem - same contents on both websites)
I also tried to open my net-domain in FF portable - without any problems.
Clearing the cache, deleting the cookies etc in FF4 does not help either.
I also had the experience that FF4 does not load CSS5 websites (e.g. deviantart) properly (CSS does not work, website shows simply the html-version, a disgusting look). With FF portable the problem does not exist.
I tried this on different machines (e.g. Windows XP Pro SP3 (office PC), Win7 Pro 64, Win Vista SP2... (home PCs) and there I'm experiencing the same issues with FF4 and various websites.

  • My music file did  not download correctly and stops playing after a few seconds.

My music files did not download correctly from itunes and stop playing after a few seconds.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library and then download again from your purchased history. If the problem persists, or that facility is not available in your region contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

  • Firefox does not load pages at all..

    Hello,
I upgraded to FireFox 7, and since upgrading I cannot load pages at all. I closed FF to update, then when I tried to restore my session, none of the pages would load; they're stuck in a never ending "connecting" state.
I've tried disabling all extensions, and it kind of helps, but I still can't load most pages

I am encountering this same problem too, but in a different twist. I erased all my cache, disabled all my add-ons, and even started a new FF profile (and a new Windows profile) and pulled up about 7 tabs going to 7 different websites, and the 1st 2 tabs will load the site, but then the rest stay stuck on this "Connecting" loop and never actually go to the site. I have looked thru the websites you suggested as well as other KB Articles that Mozilla has, and they haven't resolved this issue. I have noticed that this is happening in FF 7 and on. When I reinstall FF 6.0.2, this problem did not happen at all.

  • Safari does not load page completely

On some pages, Safari loads pages partially. For instance, if I go to "theweathernetwork.com" (which is a page that contains sub-windows), some times, it loads only the first sub-window of the page and not the entire page. I have to refresh the page several times to get the entire page displayed completely. I have the same problem with other sites. That seems to occur randomly. I could access a site without problem at some time, but if I return to the same site later, I could have the problem explained above. Any ideas for this problem? Thanks.

  • Wireless does not load balance and Connection drops to 1Mbps at a certain time

    Hi,
We had wireless LAN setup and it seems that every afternoon, the connection notification on their laptop drops to 1Mbps and slowness on the network is experienced. how can I identify the cause of this drop connection speed?
Also when one of the APs went down, the other nearby APs does not cover for the AP that went down, is it not supposed to cover for the downed AP?
BTW out setup is LAP with 4400 series WLC with VoWLAN running on it but on differed radio and SSID. Data is on b/g while VoWLAN is on A.

also i am seeing a lot of coverage hole detection on the logs.
is there any problems with the coverage of the APs? should I place additional APs to cover up the holes? If you have available funds/resources then putting additional APs won't hurt ... especially if one of the APs fail.  Putting additional APs will also help distribute the clients.if it is cause by rouge AP how can i prevent it.
First, you have to know what radios is the AP using.  For example, if the Rogue AP is using 802.11b then disable your 802.11b or use a different channel.  I'm curious to know this is the case since the WLC would've used a different channel if a Rogue AP is broadcasting on similar channel (unless there's just too many Rogue APs using 802.11b).
you recommed any steps on how can i trace sudden  surge of wireless use I'd like to identify/isolate how correct is my hypothesis that it's due to the sudden surge of wireless use.  If this is the case, then I'd also like to know what application(s) are being used to overwhelm the wireless.

  • Flash Player will not download. freezes and stops. Was previously on PC. Updates will not download.

Anybody have a reason this is happening? Or I should say not happening?

    @dummergold
I'm sorry, I really do not understand what your issue is.  Your first post indicates an issue with downloading the online installer, which requires an internet connection to download/install.  User andys75622553 provided a link to the offline installer, which does not require an internet connection to install.  You're response to andys75622553 is a bit confusing.  Please restate your issue in a clear manner, preferably as stated here Read Before Posting: How To Get A Useful Answer To Your Question
    Maria
Sorry to intrude and cause a second issue. I did read the 'Read Before Posting: How To Get A Useful Answer To Your Question'. and I ask to be dismissed from the trouble shooting with respect to my Windows 7 issue, as I will not be able to concentrate and other stuff. Please help Mike.
I do find it interesting that you are running XP Mike, because I also run XP on this 'dial-up internet connected' computer that I type from at present - and interesting because I thought I had given up on Flash Player updates back last April when XP became obsolete - not that XP doesn't function, as I am still using it also, but that I could not update my Internet Explorer - so, I thought that because I could not update my Internet Explorer, that Flash Player was telling me that it couldn't update. And note that my statement could be warped by time, but something like that.
    Good luck

  • Why does my iPad 3rd gen. stop responding after 5 minutes of use? The home button still works but the touchscreen doesn't react.

This is getting incredibly annoying.  I've had this thing for 3 months and I can't use it for more than 5 mins at a time because the touchscreen stops responding!!! I tried restoring it to its factory defaults and it still keeps messing up.

Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
If that doesn't work, then update iTunes on computer, backup device to iTunes, then restore the device.
