IE 11 not maintaining state

Just had the IE 11 update pushed to my development box. Now, on the site I am working on, I am getting a new cfid/cftoken with every page request, ruining state/session management.
What is the easiest work around on this? I would hate to have to go through all the site adding #cfid# and #cftoken# to every url...
Also, if I do have to append cfid/cftoken, how is it handled when the site is indexed by a se bot? Wouldn't the cached links have the same cfid/cftoken for everyone?

Ensure IE is allowing cookies to be set. There's probably a security/privacy setting that's just preventing this; IE is a horrible browser, but I cannot see it just blindly refusing to store session data.
There is a function called URLSessionFormat which you can wrap around all your links, and CF will determine if the client can support cookies or not; if so, it will append nothing to the URL, but if they cannot, it will add the needed variables to the URL passed to it in order to add the CFID/CFTOKEN as needed.
Also, you don't want to send session data to any resource that does not modify or restrict its content by user. For example, you send a session data to the base request because it needs to know who you are through subsequent requests, but you don't want to append the CFID and CFTOKEN data to resources that don't care who you are and just serve data. Like Images, Scripts and Styles.
In fact, a way of optimizing an application often involves moving said resources to separate hosts who are setup to not even accept cookie data; that way, even the request to the resource is minimal (smaller request headers). For such resources, simply do not enclose them in the URLSessionFormat() BIF.

Layer palette not maintaining state, what to do??

Problem: Layer palette chages state between the closing and reopening of a file.
What I would like to be able to do is open a .ai file and have the layer palette exactly the way the way I left it when I closed the file. Currently upon reopening a file many of the layers will be fully expanded and I have to go through and collapse them all.
Is there a way to force Illustrator to maintain layer palette state between file sessions?

The behaviour - or the issue - has been introduced in Illustrator 9, the first version which included nested layers. The behaviour has been legitimately criticised pretty often.
However, if you want to collapse/expand all layers in one step you might consider converting your main layers into sublayers. That is:
• Create a new 'master layer' on top of the entire stack of main layers
• Drag all main layers onto the master layer in order to make them sub layers of the master layer
• Now you can Alt/Option Click the triangle on the left-hand side of the master layer in order to collapse or expand all sublayers
Of course, this way is only applicable if using sublayers is an option for you.

Bean State is not maintained in producer

Hi,
In my application, whenever we click on the 'Add' button, document is added to bean and page is submited again and the same apge is displayed. For e.g, I have employeeDetails.xhtml apge and whenver I add any document, document is added to Bean, and employeeDetails.xhtml page is shown again. but now in portal, employeeDetails apge after adding docuemnt is throwing exception. the reason which we found out is that, bean state is not meintained and due to which RenderRequest reinitializes the bean and all saved data is lost.
Can you pelase help on this?

In Create Mode od material Master: MM01 Enter the material code & enter the same in Reference material & enter. In the next step select Purchasing, as it refers to not have maintained & enter Organization data & enter. Now maintain Purchasing Tab page.
This process in SAP is known as Extending Material Master. You can extend the material master for adding Views not maintained, also for extending material to another plant or combination of Sales Org & Distribution Channel, & so on ...

HP Officejet 6500A Plus will not maintain wireless connection reliably

For the HP EXPERTS on Expert Day, April 18, 2012:
B.L.A.T. (Bottom Line At Top): We have an HP Officejet 6500A Plus purchased about 5 months ago. We wanted to use it as a wireless-connected printer in another room besides our home office. It is useless to us because it will not maintain its wireless connection, even sitting just a few feet from the router in the same room. Except for numerous hours of troubleshooting, we have left it sitting powered up, but unused and idle, for almost the entire 5 months in our home office. DURING ALL THAT IDLE TIME, IT HAS LOGGED OVER 3,200 DISCONNECTS, at a consistent rate of 24 disconnects every 24 hours, even though it ALWAYS reports that the wireless signal quality is “EXCELLENT” (all this is according to the Wireless Network Test Reports we’ve printed throughout the last 5 months). So our question is, what is it that this printer is trying to do once an hour over a wireless connection that is causing these thousands of disconnects? And how can we stop it?
NOTE! Before you round up the usual suspects (namely our router and our PC firewalls) please note that we also bought an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus ON THE SAME DAY as the Officejet 6500A Plus. The 8600 was also installed with a wireless connection, and has worked without a single network issue for the entire 5 months.
NOW, FOR THE REST OF THE STORY…
WHO WE ARE: My wife and I have worked on HP equipment for 33 years, starting in 1979 as corporate customers of HP when we worked for Exxon; then we both worked for HP directly for 17 years; and we’ve now used dozens of pieces of HP equipment in our home during the last 12 years in retirement. We’re primarily software folks, so we’re not exactly experts in hardware and networking, but on the other hand, this ain’t our first rodeo either.
OUR CONFIGURATION:
PC’s – All running Windows 7 x64 with all important patches applied and Norton Internet Security 2012: HPE-270f and HP AIO 200-Quad, each with full 6500A and 8600A drivers installed on wireless connection. These 2 PC’s themselves can connect either wirelessly or via Ethernet to our home network. The 270f has a dual-band wireless board. Both bands work. We also have a new dv7t laptop with only the full 6500A driver installed via wireless connection. The laptop is now upstairs and it’s connected to our home network wirelessly without any issues. (This is where we had hoped to also put the 6500A, but it needs to work reliably via wireless connection.)
ROUTER: Netgear N600 WNDR3700 providing Ethernet and wireless networking. Router provides a very strong wireless signal throughout the house. No wireless problems with any other equipment including an iPod, two Kindle Fires besides all the HP equipment.
PRINTERS: Besides the two HP printers, the HPE-270f PC has a Canon MP960 installed on it. And if we can’t get the 6500A working right or replaced with something that does work right, we may be buying our second Canon printer. By the way, on the 6500A, ePrint and App’s are set to ON, but of course they’re not being used, just like everything else on this AIO.
OTHER: We also have a Sonos music system that connects to our network via Ethernet and has its own proprietary mesh network (on another frequency) for transmitting ripped music wirelessly to speaker units throughout our house. (If you aren’t familiar with this totally cool system, check out sonos.com). We’ve never seen any evidence of interference between these two wireless networks, or our wireless phone sets either.
HP TOOLS AVAILABLE ON ALL 3 PC’s: HPU
UPDATE 5.003.001.001 (reporting everything up-to-date); HPHDU 3.1.0.17; HPPDU 5.0.0.015 and HPNDU 4.3.0.002.
SYMPTOMS: The 6500A Plus installs quickly and easliy, and connects wirelessly just fine during installation. But sometime over the next hour (usually less), it disconnects and won’t print from PC applications. Sometimes the application puts up an “Unable to communicate with printer” screen, even though the PC usually thinks the printer is “ready”. Other times, the PC thinks the printer is offline (but printers don’t have “offline” buttons anymore!). Often, if you just leave everything alone, the 6500A will somehow reconnect and print out the spooled file 5-30 MINUTES later. So it does usually seem to be able to recover given some time, but that doesn’t always fit our schedule! Occasionally, turning the wireless radio on the printer off and back on will fix it right away. But usually, you have to power the printer completely off, and then back on. As far as we know, that always fixes it…..until the next disconnect a few minutes later!
PREVIOUSLY TRIED: After reading some of HP’s wireless network support websites, I manually assigned a fixed IP address to this printer. It didn’t seem to matter; according to the wireless network test report, it still logs disconnects at the rate of one per hour, and all the failure symptoms were the same.
We also dabbled a bit with setting this printer as “trusted” to the Firewall, but that didn’t seem to matter either.
Next, we connected the printer via Ethernet. The printer immediately started to work, even though it had just been in its “failed” state over the wireless connection. As far as we know, it never failed while connected via Ethernet. This seems to point to a purely wireless hardware/firmware problem on the printer itself.
Late last year, I tried two different chat sessions about this with the inter-continental AIO support teams, each one lasting several hours. Unfortunately, none of their optimistic solution scripts seemed to fit our problem. They both seemed determined to reconfigure the 6500A as a TCP/IP printer, which of course worked fine initially, just like everything else. At this point, they would understandably want to close the chat. But 20-30 minutes later, we could no longer print to it. During the second chat, they got into one of our PC’s remotely and effectively turned off the spooler (by selecting “Print Directly” or something like that). After that, all was well again (as usual) UNTIL the printer disconnected, at which time attempting to print from that PC would HANG the application (since the spooler was no longer buffering) and eventually hang the whole PC. One giant leap backwards. That’s when I gave up on the multi-hour chat sessions.
The three diagnostic utilities (HDU, PDU, NDU) have been tried over and over. When the printer is in its disconnected state, the DU’s usually don’t detect the 6500A at all, or if they do detect it, they are unable to fix anything. Frankly, it’s easier to just power the printer off (which takes about a minute) and power the printer back on (which takes more than a minute) and then wait for the spooler to kick in (usually about 30 seconds). BUT WE DON’T CONSIDER THAT A SOLUTION!!
B.L.A.B. (Bottom Line At Bottom): We have used up nearly the entire black ink cartridge and at least a ream of paper troubleshooting this brand new printer, to no avail. This printer is useless to us unless it can maintain a wireless connection reliably. Please help!

I bought the Officejet 6500A Plus about one month and have experienced the very same problem. I tried to remedy this problem following suggestions in a number of different posts (static IP, router, firewalls etc), all to no avail. Last week I called support. The support I received by the tech over several hours and different days for a week was very good. However none of his suggestions corrected the connection issue. After today's recommended fix failed, he advised HP is aware of this issue with the 6500 and other affected printers. He claimed HP was working on a firmware upgrade. He did not know when the update would be provided. The tech also claimed HP acknowledged this problem in a written announcement. He agreed to email the announcement to me. I haven't received it. This has been the only problem I've had with the 6500

BDC error BM302 : Internal unit &, language & is not maintained

I have Unit of measurements defined as below in T006A Tables ( Configured through CUNI tcode)

Through BDC Prpgram i have created an inforecord ( using ME11 transaction ), where Logon Language = HU. It is created successfully. When i try to open the created info record using ME12, the unit ( EINA-LMEIN) is displayed as '**' and it throws message "Internal unit DRB, language HU is not maintained ". When i Checked in database EINA-LMEIN is saved as '**'.
But when i create the Info record manually in ME11, No issues .The database EINA-LMEIN is correctly saved as 'UNT'.
I couldn't figure out the issue , whether problem is in my BDC program or Language dependent configuration of the unit in CUNI. Please help in solving this issue , Am i missing something ?

You might be missing some more configuration (T table entries). To determine what that is -
Process the info-record using ME12
Start debugging "/h"
Once debugging starts - place Breakpoint At MESSAGE statement
F8
Program control will stop at every message triggered and one of them would be you message. Check the code around the message (and call stack if required) and you might see the reason for the error

now i have another problem
after a while my server hangs or gets shutdown ,a
message is shown as
"java.exe has generated error and will be shutdown"
i know that more connections can be a prob. but i
make sure that connections r closed on each page,also
i am a newbie and do not have the time at present to
learn abt. connection pool ,can this problem be
solved easily?

and try again. That's the reason tomcat getting down. System.exit(1) should not be used inside jsp. it will make the underlaying Servlet Engine to shutdown.

Acrobat 8 does not maintain InDesign structure

I'm new to forums. I thought I had posted this problem yesterday, but cannot find it. So, I apologize if this is a repeat.
I use InDesign (CS3) to create forms that are exported to PDF using Acrobat 8 on a Windows XP platform.
The forms are uploaded to our Web. Users download, print, then fill in their information manually before submitting to our department. We cannot use dynamic online forms; the federal government requires hard signatures.
Our department gets thousands of forms submitted, all filled in manually. Not everyone is careful about their legibility and bad handwriting adds to our staff's workload. Therefore, this year we decided to create interactive fields.
We are a state agency and our Internet must be 508 compliant and accessible. Blind users' devices must be able to read the forms in a logical order to make sense of the information for them.
b The Problems:
The exported InDesign document --
] 1) does not maintain the reading order in Acrobat even though the structure looks fine in InDesign, and
] 2) treats separate frames (sometimes) as if they were one frame, causing unrelated text to be grouped within one tag.
I could work with the Touch-up Reading Order to change the reading order (but I should not have to!!). However, with some of the frames arbitrarily grouped together it is impossible to create the correct reading order for the blind, because I cannot separate the grouped frames.
b My Method of Creating Forms in InDesign:
] 1) Initially, I used styles (heading1, heading2, normal, etc), assuming Acrobat would recognize them as it does MS Word styles. That didn't work.
] 2) I mapped my styles to the tags, but the results were the same.
] 3) I even created two layers with my text on the top and my backgrounds on the second. Same results.
Because I created a 23 page document in MS Word that Acrobat handled beautifully, with no problems in reading order, I assumed InDesign and Acrobat would be compatible and even easier to work with. I am baffled as to why there seems to be a disconnect between InDesign and Acrobat.
I will appreciate any help I can get. I have spent days trying to understand what I am doing wrong. If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to e-mail a response to: [email protected].

I guess the only consolation is that we are not nuts! InDesign and Acrobat don't communicate as well as advertised. I work at a large university (36K students and over 3600 staff). I sent a message to our Web development group on this subject, and the only reply was someone else have trouble with reading order.
What is interesting is that I created a Word document of 26 pages, and it converted beautifully to PDF, except for the tables. Word 2003 has no way of creating accessible tables, but supposedly Acrobat does. Wrong! They provide the tags, but when applied, go unrecognized by the PDF Read Out Loud.
Considering the fact that 508 compliance is the law of the land, it would be nice if someone from Adobe read these messages and create patches that will solve these problems. Adobe developers: Are you out there? Are you paying any attention?

Maintaining State For Item Renderers

Hey guys,
                I have a custom item renderer CustomRenderer.as and CustomRendererData.as. The item renderer component has a loading animation and each renderer reads the loading percent , wether its in Uploading state and the color of the progressbar from the data class . The issue I run into is when these animations are playing and the user is dragging and dropping them sometimes the progress bar does not maintain its state , animation plays again or has a color from the previous item renderer .
When you click the LoadData button the animations will start and if you start to drag and drop them around you can see sometimes the states gets confused for example
data1 is red
data2 is green
data3 is blue
data4 never loads because its isUploading property is false
Sometimes data4 will have the progress bar animating even though it should never animate or data3 would have a red progress bar. I have attached the source as a zip file and a image of the error state. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, they are kinda tough. I claim no expertise, but have
managed to get them working by using the examples of others.

Preferences in Agenda are not maintained

The preference settings in Agenda for "Show weeknumbers" and "Open activities in seperate window", are not maintained.
Do other people face the same problem?
Has anyone a solution?

Okay - I think I'm good now. I had to manually edit the monitor.xml file
and set up all of my preferences -as Danita described in another post as a
bug.
I couldn't just restart the monitor agent, however. I had to reboot my
server, manually run my ncpmount statement then run the grpwise-ma script.
If I could ever figure out how to write a script and where to put the script
for the ncpmount I'd be in great shape. :)

What is the best way to maintain state in Java web apps?

Hi,
been looking at best way to maintain state between requests in JSP.
Ive been trying to use URL rewriting but been getting problems. I understand I can also achieve this using cookies.
Are there any other better ways of doing this.
I don�t know if the problem is with JBuilder4 or something in the Tomcat server?

I think if you use JavaBeans that implements Serializable , it might maintain state (but not sure of this).
HttpSession is one option but , sessions have limitations - they timeout, they don't work when the page is cached by the browser and they don't work if Cookies are disabled in the browser.
Database is always an option, and there are two types of DBs , in-memory like HSQLDB etc , or the regular RDBMS like MySQL , Oracle etc.
If you only want to maintain state between HttpRequests, then use the request object which is implicit in JSPs.
I think your URL Encoding is not working most likely because you have disabled Cookies in your browser and that's why you see jsessionid.
If you enable Cookies in your browser then, the jsessionid should not appear.
There are other options I'm sure, but I'm only aware of the above at this time.... may be someone else might know more.

System not maintained

Hi Guys Can some one tell me how to switch our sytems to maintained. When I go into system data maintenance through the web browser and click on a system I do a consistancy check and the systems comes back as not maintained. What do I have to do to get this to a maintained state?

Check all SAP-OSS rfc is working or not. Give you proper admin s000* user id and password in login details. RFCs are SAP-OSS and SAP-OSS-LIST-O01, not SAPOSS, SDCC_OSS and SAPNET_RTCC. Then update data.
Second option, manually you can enter service.sap.com and maintain you system data manually.
Hostname, ip address etc.

Maintaining State with OAS 4.8 and PL/SQL

I am working on a package that displays 5 pages with 83 application questions. To maintain state for all 83 questions, I am using a procedure that maintains the data on a string (~400 characters) and passes it to each page (We decided to avoid writing to the database before the application is completed). Since the pages were expiring randomly, I added NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons. One procedure, the one that maintains the string, has 83 parameters.
The package contains 8-10 procedures, 180 constants and global variables (we tried without using global variables but global variables make the code easier to read and the package smaller (around 4000 lines). The complete application uses 4 packages.
During development, the package seemed to be working well, until I added more realistic data. Right now, I get The error message: The page cannot be found. The first time, I got this message, just by pressing enter again will cause the page to display. At times it will take 3 or 4 times pressing the enter key on the URL. Slowly, it became more and more difficult to make the browser display the first page. Today, no matter how many times I press the enter key, the page does not display.
Questions:
1. Are there any limits on parameters, global variables and data on OAS 4.08. I tested reducing the package parameters, global variables and data to half the size, but the procedure still does not display. Compiling an older copy of the procedure does not seem to work either.
2. Is there a better way to maintain state without writing to the database?
I am not sure what is causing the problem. I have an open TAR.

I have imported SharePoint 2013 MP in SCOM 2007 R2 and the sharepoint farm group is in "not monitored" state, moreover only one computer name out of all sharepoint farm servers is being populated in unidentified machines (rest are not being
shown anywhere in Microsoft SharePoint folder).
I have followed all the steps as per installation guide of sharepoint 2013 (foundation & Server) MP. Configured run as account has the farm admin rights.
Please help as it seems discovery is not working properly.

     Number Ranges are not maintained for Business Place and Section. Check entries in tables J_1iewt_cert (for Business Place) or J_1iewt_cert_n (for Section Code) and j_1iewt_certno in EWT.
I have checked all the above tables and found that the entries are maintained
2) When i am trying for print priview and then print its generating spool request and the certificate is getting saved -

      A) . TDS Number is not coming
      B).Details Of the tax deductor ( Name , Adress , TDS Circle , TAN & PAN is not coming Where       to update these details

Fiscal year variant is not maintained for calendar year 2009

Hi,
After upgrade to BI 7.0 we are getting error: "Fiscal year variant & is not maintained for calendar year 2009" while opening a query through Bex Analyzer.
Basically it is happening like when we open a particular query, the Variable selection screen comes up, then on clicking the exection button (after selection) it shows SYSTEM_FAILURE exception & clicking the details button, shows the message ""Fiscal year variant is not maintained for calendar year 2009"
Please provide some information/resolution to this.

Please ensure that you have defined your fiscal year variant in OB29
correctly. It is necessary that:
1. the previous year has been maintained,
2. an entry for Dec 31 exists in each fiscal year,
3. the following fiscal year has been maintained.
