IE 7.0 Positioning Error For Menu Bar Submenus

In Internet Explorer 7, the submenu items are displayed
horizontally rather than vertically (as they are in IE 6.0). I'm
using Spry 1.6 and the site has been updated to use it as well. Any
ideas on how to get that fixed. It works fine in IE 6, Safari, and
Firefox.

contains the lis for submenu items.

I am doing a get Skin from Menu bar, but it returns null. Is there a way to set the skin for menu bar. I tried other alternatives like setting new com.sun .java fx.sce ne .control.skin.Menu BarSkin() but it doesn't work.

Skin skin = menuBar.getSkin();because the MenuBar has not yet been added to the scene-graph. Nor can you do

Skin skin = menuBar.getSkin();because the skin isn't set until the next pulse. There are many ways you can get the skin. The easiest is to just set the skin yourself:
MenuBar menuBar = new MenuBar();
menuBar.setSkin(new com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.MenuBarSkin(menuBar));Or you can add a listener to the skinProperty of the Control and grab it when it is set. -
Spry Menu Bar Submenus Not Showing

This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar. You should have no need
to edit this file. Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
showing that submenu until the timer fires.

Help compensating for menu bar height!
I am trying to write a turn based game and I want to make a grid. However when I create the grid using the following code the last row appears off screen. I think this is due to the menu bar across the top with the close buttons and title. I can compensate for it on my OS but if I want to eventually give the game to other people that isn't good enough. Does anyone know if these bars are all the same height or how to get the height mid program?

}Let me guess. What you call menu bar is actually the title bar, the upper part of the frame.
So I will make another guess: you define width and height on the Stage instead of the Scene. Try moving these parameters to Scene and see if it solves your problem. -
Does anyone make a wi-fi meter for the menu bar that continuously shows the speed of a connection?

10.5.2 No option for menu bar transparency on Mac Pro...?
After updating my MacBook Pro to the latest, I was able to see and use the new menu bar transparency setting. Unfortunately, I cannot see the option on my quad core Mac Pro. Could it be due to the fact that I run multiple monitors? I am quite surprised that the option doesn't even appear in the System Preferences.
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Before and after installing, repair permissions (go to Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities), click Macintosh HD, and click "Repair Disk Permissions".)

Loss of "orange down arrow" for menu bar
On my first download of FF4, there was an orange down arrow that contained File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, etc. Now it is a separate bar that takes up the space that was saved before. What happened?
Alt+V (view menu) > Toolbars > (uncheck) Menu bar

ELOCATION_MERCATOR.WORLD_MAP errors for pie/bar graph theme below zoom 5
Hi,
I am trying to create a map using ADF DVT map component in my jspx page. I am using 'elocation_mercator.world_map'. I am creating a pie graph theme over the base world map. For some reason whenever I zoom below 5, i get following javascript error
[MVThemeBasedFOIControl.foiLoaded] MAPVIEWER-05523: Cannot process response from MapViewer server. (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <oms_error> MAPVIEWER-06009: Error processing an FOI request.
Root cause:FOIServlet:null</oms_error>)
The Pie graphs displays fine at or above zoom level 5. I tried the same thing using my local map viewer instance which has mvdemo.demo_map as the base map. The pie graph displays fine at all zoom levels using my local map. Can anybody tell me what may be the problem when I use the elocator world_map. I can't even look at the logs as it's a hosted service.Here are the steps to reproduce the problem
1) Create a jspx page.
2) From the component palette on the right hand side, select ADF Data Visualizations and then click on Map in the Geographical Map section. This will open an ADF Map configuration window.
3) Create a new Map Configuration by providing an id and a URL connection. If you have not created a URL Connection to elocation service, create a new connection to "http://elocation.oracle.com/mapviewer" and select that connection.
4) You will see data source as ELOCATION_MERCATOR and Base map as WORLD_MAP selected. Enter startingY="38.648911" startingX="-98.349609" , select mapZoom="5" and Click on OK.
5) Now create an entity object and a view object based on the STATES table in the MVDEMO database and add it to an application module.
6) Refresh the application module data control. You should a new StatesView1 data control.
7) Drop it on the map and select Bar graph theme. This will open a Bar Graph theme configuration window for the Map.
8) In the Name select MAP_STATES_ABBRV. In the location column select STATE_ABRV.
9) In the Data Location Select Location as StateAbrv and Location Label as State.
10) Enter Series Attribute as Totpop and Label as Total Population. Enter series attribute as Female and Label as Female Population. Click OK.
11) Now Run this page.
12) The page runs fine displaying the Bar chart. Now zoom out. You will get error

When you say that we should use elocation for map tiles not for FOI rendering, does that mean that I should not use the themes provided by elocation. When I enter the base URL to a mapviewer instance in my map client, the base map and the themes are displayed from the database used by the mapviewer instance. So, how can I use my own mapviewer for FOI rendering? Can you please explain a little more. Thanks. -
CS3 Fix for Spry Horizontal Menu bar/drop boxes positioning bug in IE?
I have searched threads to see if there is an "easy" solution for the incorrect positioning of horizontal menu bar drop boxes in IE browser older versions(mine showed up at the top of the screen and mysteriously included the word "false" in older IE ONLY). Is there a downloadable patch or quick fix for this problem at this point in time? I saw an available download for a newer version of Spry but seems like overkill for this small issue. I am not an experienced web designer or computer geek, but can follow specific directions I am given. The horz bar with drop boxes showed correctly in Firefox and other browsers but not in older(?) IE. For now, I've simply removed the drop boxes to make the page look respectable, but boy did it look good with those boxes. I am hoping somebody can talk to me without lots of teckkie terms. Though I appreciate and love all of you tecs out there.
You really should install the Spry update as it fixes some IE issues that the earlier versions of Spry had. Then use the Dreamweaver Command menu to update your Spry files within your site and you should have the latest and be ready to go. If you're still having issues you may want to also check out the Spry forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/labs/spry

Spry Menu Bar disappears absolute position
Hello all this is my first time posting on this site so bear with me. I have a semi-transperant spry menu bar that i inserted into the header div, over an image. I moved the menu bar -38px, when the position is set to relative the menu bar is visible, however the old position of the menu bar has a blank white space there. I think this is due to the relative position property. When i change it to absolute the whole menu bar disappears? http://www.brightlikethesun.com/index2.html (the position is back to relative to show the menu bar and also background for header is blue to show the space)

1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

Similar to MS Office, one can position all the menu bars in any order, top down or sideways as required. I find that with ver 4, the tabs on the top line , the search, home buttons etc are not intuitive and are quite annoying with their positional changes.

Question: My spry menu bar is not displaying correctly in Dreamweaver

I am new to Dreamweaver CS5, so coding isn't my area of expertise. My problem with my spry menu bar is that it does not display the tabs on the menu bar correctly. When I try to apply new changes to the CSS of the horizontal menu bar, half of the tabs will change and the other half will not. Also, I am unable to drag and move the menu bar itself around, a function that I was once able to do before. At times, only one tab of the menu bar will display itself, without any of the other tabs as well.
I have a hunch that my problems stem from some coding errors in the SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css, and possibly in the SpryMenuBar.js. On the CSS Styles panel, my SpryMenuBarHorizontal.CSS list reads as follows:

If anyone could possibly steer me on the right direction with this, I'd be very grateful! I've been struggling with this for about a month now and I feel like I may have only made the situation worse.
I'm not sure if I have to keep making a new spry assets folder in my website or not or if I have to drag and drop the spry assets into the root folder. I have restarted my website over at least a dozen times by now. I have tried changing folders, dragging and dropping various spry assets folders everywhere and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled my copy of Dreamweaver CS5 in the hopes of getting my spry horizontal menu bar to act normal. I am completely new at Dreamweaver and I really, really need some help with this.

I'm not sure what to make of these messages. I tried to put a new spry horizontal menu bar on my main page, and when it appeared, it displayed as a spry vertical menu bar.

Trouble with Spry Menu Bar Not Opening on Hover
I have two Spry Menu Bars on this one page. They were both working fine. Now the menu bar on the top right is not opening on rollover. I have uploaded the Spry .JS and .CSSfiles to the server.Could it be that I added 2 to the names of the CSS styles, but not all of them? I just tested them all with 2 after the style name, and it didn't fix it.
I also noticed that the ability to edit these two navigation bars using the Property Inspector went away. I can't seem to click on them to edit. Now I edit them through the code only.
Rebuild it on another page, and paste in the code?
Suggestions?
ALso, getting an error message on line 2 of HTML below, which I don't remember editing.
I will paste the template page HTML, then the CSS, then the Javascript Spry file for Menu Bar Horizontal. I did not edit the JS file at all.

<p>No Colorado Springs business has had a deeper bond with the Colorado College hockey program during the past three decades than Panino’s Restaurant, a connection seen on its walls, in its clientele and in its bloodlines.<br />
Panino’s has been tied to the school’s hockey program since the restaurant was bought in 1974 by former CC All-America hockey player Tony Frasca. }, false);It has to do with all of your absolutely positioned elements. What's happening is that the menu is falling behind the absolutely positioned elements on your page. Since there is nothing there, it's like trying to click a link that is outside your home while you are staring through a window. Personally with that page setup you have now I really don't see a need for absolutely positioned elements. But if you feel you will require them as part of your design you need to ensure the z-index of your menu layer is greater than that of the body elements positioned below it.
