IE 7 - CSS Issues with Spry dropdown Menu *HELP*

I am using a spry horizontal dropdown menu generated in DW. The menus look consistant in all other browsers except ie7 -  When the drop down menu occurs they all appear to the right and not directly under its menu item.. Looked around in the Css and i cant seem to find the right rule to make the change in ie7 only... was planning on using a css conditional statement to shift them left.. But im not having any luck.. HELP!
Thanks so much in advance!

Sorry.. Here is the link.. Thanks so much for your willingness to help!

The problem lies with the line-height style rule in ul.MenuBarHorizontal a

  • Performance issues with Spry

    Hi all,
I'm facing some performance issues with Spry. I'm using it
for handling a menubar acting as a rollover menu : its color
changes under mouse cursor, and a submenu does appear at the same
    time.
I have no problem when working with Firefox, but in IE6, it
    renders too slowly
Is there something I've missed in the configuration or code
(or is there some tips for this kind of problem) ?
For information, I used UL and LI html tags, and I've
configured Spry to render these as a menubar (with multiple levels)
    Thanks for your response

Sorry, there are no public access to this application

  • Please help me with spry bar menu

I have laid out my page with the div tags in Dreamweaver. I defined the  different sections by putting colors in them until i am ready to put stuff into them however when i insert the spry menu bar into my navigation section, the area below it is behaving like a drop down box  of color. What i mean is that the area below which is supposed to stretch from left to right as a single box is now broken up by a different color box the width of the spry bar and goes down to the next box. When i preview it in the browser the page appears normal. How can i get rid of the intruding box in dreamweaver.

    HI
I am practicing for the webmaster design course pratical exam. The web page i will be asked to construct will consist of a home page with two or three other pages pages in the site it will have to link to.  I know how to do most of the steps individualy but i do not know in what order some of them are done. What i mean is this. ... after setting up the root folder..images..laying out the divs .. i would like to know ... at what point do i do the various things like, set up a styles folder...make a template... make the other pages of the site ..etc. I think i am able to do nearly all of these things but not sure in what order they should be done so the site will work.
I have reached the point where i have established the site and layout, i.e. the wrapper, logo, navigation, header, bodycontent, right and left columns, clearbar, footer. i would like someone to list the sequence i should follow after this. I am praticing on a trial CS5.5 which seems to simplfy to a freat extent what we learned on the course because it is a later version. The version we used on course was  CS4  and if the pratical is in this version then i will need to know how it is done in this format.

  • Spry Dropdown Menu properties hidden

I am trying to create a spry dropdown menu but cannot see the light blue menu thing that you click on to edit the spry menu, and so therefore cannot edit it. It should pop up when you hover over the spry menu in design view but I get nothing. Please help

    See if this works:
Place your cursor inside on of the menu items, look at the tag above the Property Inspector and you'll see the <ul.MenuBarHorizontal#MenuBar1> tag.
(if it's a vertical menu, it'll say vertical instead of horizontal :-)
Click on the tag  - does the editing box for the menu then show up?

  • Alignment Issues with Spry Menu Bar in Safari

    www.laurentambard.com
I am new to CS5 and currently building a site for a friend.  Having issues with aligning then far right spry menu bar so that it is flush with the page.  It only shows a problem on Safari (as far as I know).  Also the second tab (About) is dropping down slightly when the drop down menu is selected and not sure how to fix it.

If you place the menubar in a container with an ID of nav or similar and a background color of #EEE so that it blends in with the background colour of the menu items, the centralise the menubar and menu items as per http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/menubar/CenteringHorizontalMenuBarSample.h tml, it should go a long way to meeting your requirements.

Please post links directly to the page having an issue. I saw
no tabs on the home page, but I noticed that there is a link on the
bottom of the page to this page that has a Spry tab on it:
    http://www.so-nouveau.com/test%208.html

That page refers to a Spry JavaScript file and a Spry CSS
file, which should be at the following locations but are not
    present:
    http://www.so-nouveau.com/SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.js
    http://www.so-nouveau.com/SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.css
Make sure you upload the SpryAssests folder and see where
    you're at after that.

  • Spry Dropdown Menu problem in Mobile Safari (iPad)

I've used the stack SpryMenuBar.js in Dreamweaver to create a dropdown menu for a client (XponentMD.com).
When I Did a pass to optimize the site for the iPad, I found that the menu does not work properly. When you touch the top-level category, you go directly to the linked page and don't trigger the dropdown categories. I believe is it because the touch screen interface does not recognize focus and blur events.
It there and updated version of the SpryMenuBar.js that accommodates touch screen browsers like mobile Safari?

    Thanks for your answers.
Looks like the browser on iPad simulator doesn't behave like the real touch device, because on iPad itself definitely all unmodified Spry 2.0 menus and also that example ( http://nwneighborhoodvet.com/ ) don't work properly. When I touch "About Us" on http://nwneighborhoodvet.com/, then it immediately loads http://nwneighborhoodvet.com/pages/about-us.html instead of displaying the drop down menu.
Somehow I also don't understand your versioning scheme. I downloaded today again the so called Spry 2.0 Dropdown Menu with the Widget Browser and when I install it on my site the directory with the CSS and Javascripts inside is called Spry-UI-1.7. When this is supposed to be Spry 2.0, why don't you call it Spry-UI-2.7 or 2.0.7 or something similar? Or do I get the wrong version from that strange Widget Browser/Dreamweaver CS5?
My test page (should be unmodified and it's not formatted properly at the moment) is http://www.safeexambrowser.org/Templates/main-D.dwt, also doesn't work properly on iPad.
This is a example (jQuery Superfish) which is actually working on iPad: http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/#examples (see the menu below "The result:".

  • Spry dropdown menu problem

I've been working on a drop down menu for a site for a few
months now. I'm using the Spry Widget. I can't seem to get it
working right. I had used the drop down menu feature without
problems in CS2, but now that I have CS3, I'm having problems. I
use a Mac and am checking the site on a PC. The problem is in IE on
    the PC.
Here is the site and page with the problem:
    http://www.nectfarmersmarket.org/farms.html
The menu item "Participating Farms" has a drop down menu.
Everything works fine on my Mac using FF and Safari. On the PC,
using IE, only some of the links to the page anchors work in the
drop down menu. The ones that don't work for me are: Duhamel Farm,
Palazzi, Stone Farm, and Woodstock Farm.
Since I assume it's user error :), today I recreated the page
and the dropdown menu again from scratch:
    http://www.nectfarmersmarket.org/farmsC.html.
And now more links don't work. These are the ones that don't work
on this test page: Duhamel, Palazzi, Rachels, Stone and Woodstock.
I have posted about this a while back, but I still can't
figure it out and my client is getting a little impatient.
    TIA!

In regards to the validation if you put that page through
right now you will get a few errors. I will try to give them a
    quick rundown.
    - HR tags should look like <hr /> instead of <hr>
which you have now. This is because there is no ending tag with HR
tags so XHTML puts an end in the tag <hr />.
-One error is a missing v in a closing div tag. You have
    </di> instead of </div>.
-The final is with table tags, but with a quick glance I
can't tell which tags are duplicate. Basically it appears as though
there are one too many sets of closing tags. Would have to look
    closer at this to solve.
In regards to the Drop-Down and anchors you may want to post
this over at the Adobe Spry Forums because this is an odd issue and
may be something that we have overlooked. So head over and post the
link to the page so that they can see on that forum:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/labs_spry_pr1_forum
Outside of that I really don't know what to say without
rebuilding the menu from scratch and building a page locally on my
test server which I won't really have time to do until probably the
weekend and I know you want this solved as soon as possible. Wish
there was more I could tell you but this has me stumped.

         ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE
              display: inline;
              f\loat: left;
              background: #FFF;

Complete page and css code below (scroll down)
All you should be concerned with at this moment to get the background image to appear in the top level anchor is the css style below:
/* Menu items that have a submenu have the class designation MenuBarItemSubmenu and are set to use a background image positioned on the far left (95%) and centered vertically (50%) */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemSubmenu
    background-color: #000;
    background-image: url(../rot.jpg);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-position: left top;
I've added the background-postion because presumably you want it to appear flush left. This overides the out-of-the-box setting which positions it 95% far left.

  • IE issues with Spry horizontal men

Hi..I created a spry horizontal nav bar and its works fine in
FF, but in IE7 the pull down menus are going all over the place!
The first sub menu goes in the wrong direction and the sub sub menu
flys off to the right. Does anyone have any suggestions? Basically
the horizontal positioning is all messed up! Thanks so
    much!!!

I'm having similar issues with IE - only I don't get the nav
at all. Absolutely fine in FF, but it's like I never even created
the menu (save for the code as evidence) when I look in IE.

  • Strange issue with Spry Accordion Panels

Hi, I'm having some strange issues with the Spry Accordion
    Panels.
    Here is the page:
    http://www.bellaclientcenter.com/browncollege/aboutus.html
For some reason when I preview this message it adds extra
characters to the url above, so just delete those off to see the
    correct url.
The only browser this does NOT happen in is safari, I'm
seeing it all of my other browsers. You'll notice when you first
load up the page, you'll see that the active panel header
background is green, and the non active is a dark grey. But when
you click one of the other panels they all turn a strange neon blue
color. This is very apparent in firefox.
Any thoughts on this? I've attached the spry css code in case
    the problem is there.
    thanks so much!!
    Jeff

That is because your page is currently invalid. And renders in IE quirksmode..
    <base href="http://www.industrialwebsearch.com/">
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
So make sure your page is valid, and the animations will go smooth in ie

  • Kindle Fire & Adobe Air issues with scaling & bottom menu - GPU Mode only

    Hi,
Long post ahead, please buckle down for a while.
I'm having issues with the Kindle Fire and the bottom 20 pixel menu in GPU mode, CPU mode behaves correctly. The project was created with flash cs5.5, the stage size is 1024x600 and I've set the NO_SCALE flag. When the app is run on the Kindle Fire the Kindle scales it to 1024x580 for the bottom 20 pixel menu. If I create the project as 1024x580 it still scales it down and then centers it vertically introducing a 10pixel black bar at the top and I would assume a 10 pixel black bar at the bottom under their menu. In CPU mode the app is not scaled and the bottom 20 pixels is obscured.
The problems I have encountered so far are incorrect mouse locations as reported in various mouse events. Messed up scrollRects when I try and clip something for display. Not being able to press buttons because of the incorrect mouse coordinates, the further down on the screen the more incorrect the buttons are. You can click below a button near the bottom of the screen and have it activate whereas a button at the top acts perfectly. This is due to the accumulated error value from the yPos * scaleValue.
The mouse positions are off exactly by a scale factor of 600 / 580 (1.034).
The video below shows the problems, sorry for the poor video handling. The red line in the video is drawn in the center of the y position detected on a mouse move and mouse down event, but shifted to the left for visibility. The center of that stylus is where it should be at all times, as you can see it isn't. You can also see displayed the buttons not working correctly, they are clearly being activated when the press on the screen is not over the button (indicated by the red line).
The circle in the middle of the screen has it's scrollRect set to to the width and height of the circle, as you can see it is clipped.
At the end of the video I press the power button then press it again to unlock, you can see the screen looks good for a split second then gets resized. Once resized the circle becomes clipped again. If I were fast enough I would assume the buttons would work correctly as well. Watch closely, it happens fast.
Oh, and the app works fine on the desktop in either GPU or CPU mode. The app also works fine in GPU and CPU mode on my iPad2, Google HTC Nexus One, Nook Color and my 4th gen iPod Touch.
Now whos issue is this? Adobes, Amazons or mine? I know what the problem is but don't know how to fix it.

    Thanks for your time!
PS: if anyone wants the .fla for testing themselves, just ask and I will post a link to it.

I'm going to forward this along to our android team for their review.  In the meantime, could you open a bug on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please post back with the URL so that others affected can visit the bug and cast their votes.
    Thanks,

  • Spry dropdown menu only works fully in Safari...

    http://www.charlespatrickjewelers.com/jewelry_pages/rings.html
That is the link to my page. I have spry dropdowns set on the navbar for Rings, Bracelets, and watches.
In IE and Firefox, only the rings dropdown is working, but for Safari every dropdown works. Can someone help me fix this?
    Thank you all!
    Aza

Well, someone on another forum suggested I use css rollovers because both the spry and the swap image used the mouseover event, but I changed it and that didn't work. Can anyone here tell me why my spry navbar doesn't work in ie and Firefox?
