IE 8 Size of Windows, Boxes and Menus

Satellite A665-S6086, Win 7 Home Prem 64, IE 8.
1. I want every window to open full-size, not reduced size, without double-clicking the window title, clicking the maximize icon or dragging the window borders after opening.  What settings should I change to do this?
2. I recently compared information on two sites by dragging the entire window of one site half-way down the screen, i.e., I was looking at the top half of both sites simultaneously.  I dragged the window back up before I closed it.  Now, after the first one during a browsing session, subsequent windows open half-size with the bottom located half way up the screen.  How can I get all windows to open full size?
3. Even when windows are full size, whether in IE or not, dialog boxes and menu selections often run off the bottom of the screen when using the laptop display or an external monitor.  It is much worse when I use my 32-inch HDTV.  All display, monitor and TV setting are either selected automatically by Windows or set at the optimum recommended settings.  I tried adjusting the TV aspect ratio to maximize the view of dialog boxes and menus, then returned the settings to view content. To get around these problems I go to Control Panel, Display, and set the magnification lower when working with the offending menus and boxes, then return to my preferred settings, but shouldn't they fit (or be able to be scrolled) at 125% or 150%?  Monitor connected by VGA, HDTV by HDMI.
Can the answers to any of these questions be found in any online documentation from MS or Toshiba?  Any help would be appreciated.

I can provide a partial answer to my questions.
1 and 2, regarding the size of windows: To get all windows to open full size, open a window and, if it is not full size already, use the pointer to drag the borders to the size you want for all subsequent windows.  DO NOT USE THE MAXIMIZE ICON (the square near the upper right-hand corner).  Right-click a link on the page and select Open in a New Window, and again drag the borders of this new window to the size you want.  When you have opened two windows that you resized, go back to the first one and close it by pressing the CTRL key then clicking the Close icon (the X in the upper right-hand corner).  Repeat this for the subsequent windows in order.  Now all windows should open to the size you want.  This is the procedure as described in the Microsoft Answers web site.

    Dear all,
please  correct me .........i am displaying line items (materials) with their material code, description, quantity etc in the main window of a invoice.now my requirement is i have to create boxes and display each field in a box in main window, and  in each box the field value or text shud be aligned properly.......means it shud not cross the box.
for this im following dis sequence .
    1. box command (for creating boxes)
    2. protect....end protect ......in between the heading and value to be populated
i ve executed but iam able to display only 1 line item.please correct me

    quite a difficult task.
At first you need either items of fixed height, or you need to create those boxes dynamically. Since you dont know how much items will get printed you need to create them half dynamically anyway.
I´d strongly recommend you to do this is SMARTFORMS rather than in sap-script. Cause smartforms got the tools for such tasks, and makes it quite easy while in SAP-SCRIPT it is one of the hardest requirements to come by.

  • Appropriate partition size for windows 7?

i just bought windows 7 and want to install it on my mac pro that i recently bought. i was wondering what's an appropriate partition size for windows 7 and if it matters whether i install the 32 bit or the 64 bit? i'm mainly using it for a game (league of legends) if that makes an difference. thank you for your time.
    -Nikko

If you have more than 4GB of RAM or are planning on some time in the future to install more than 4GB of RAM use the 64 bit version. The 32 bit version can not address more than 4GB. Windows programs are now 64 bit. Your computer is 64 bit. 64 bit Windows runs 32 bit Windows programs. So there is no reason to install 32 bit Windows.
Windows 7 requires a lot of space. Then you need space for any data you create. I think that at a minimum you need 50GB plus data. I would opt for larger rather than smaller so the minimum I would partition is 100GB. If you conserve space now by making a small partition it is likely you will fill up that space quickly. You'll then wish you had made a larger partition initially. Search this forum, there are several questions on how to make a Boot Camp partition larger.

How do I change the size of the tools and the text for the menus in Photoshop?  I need a magnifying glass in order to make out what they are.

Okay, I've figured it out, so I'm going to answer my own question in hopes that it may help anyone else that would like to actually be able to see what they're doing when using Photoshop CC 2014 on a high resolution screen.
    1.  Open Photoshop.
    2.  Select Preferences from the Edit Menu, then select General.
    3.  Change the HUD Color Picker to Hue Strip (Medium).
    4.  Select Interface from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    5.  Change the UI Font Size to Large in the Text area of the Preferences dialog box.
    6.  Select Experimental Features from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    7.  Select Scale UI 200% for high-density displays (Windows only).
    8.  Click on OK, then Exit/Quit Photoshop.
    9.  Open Photoshop and everything should be readable.

  • Box and Size stmt in sapscript

    Hi all
    a very basic question
can anybody plz tell me whatz the difference between box and size stmt in sapscript
    Thanks in advance

    hi,
       Check this Out.....
<b>BOX, POSITION, SIZE</b>: Boxes, lines, shading
The BOX, POSITION and SIZE commands are for drawing boxes, lines and shadows. These commands can be used to specify that within any particular layout set, window or passage of window text can be output in a frame or with shadowing.
The SAP printer drivers that are based on page-oriented printers (the HP LaserJet PCL-5 driver HPLJ4, the
Postscript driver POST, the Kyocera Prescribe driver PRES) employ these commands when creating output. Line printers and non-supported page-oriented printers ignore these commands. The resulting output may be viewed in the SAPscript print previewer.
    Syntax:
    1. /: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
    2. /: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    3. /: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    <b>BOX</b>
    Syntax:
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
Effect: draws a box of the specified size at the specified position.
Parameters: For each parameter (XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH, HEIGHT and FRAME), both a measurement and a unit of measure must be specified. The INTENSITY parameter should be entered as a percentage between 0 and 100.
•&#61472;XPOS, YPOS: Upper left corner of the box, relative to the values of the POSITION command.
Default: Values specified in the POSITION command.
The following calculation is performed internally to determine the absolute output position of a box on the page:
    X(abs) = XORIGIN + XPOS
    Y(abs) = YORIGIN + YPOS
    •&#61472;WIDTH: Width of the box.
Default: WIDTH value of the SIZE command.
    •&#61472;HEIGHT: Height of the box.
Default: HEIGHT value of the SIZE command.
    •&#61472;FRAME: Thickness of frame.
    Default: 0 (no frame).
•&#61472;INTENSITY: Grayscale of box contents as %.
    Default: 100 (full black)
Measurements: Decimal numbers must be specified as literal values (like ABAP/4 numeric constants) by being enclosed in inverted commas. The period should be used as the decimal point character. See also the examples listed below.
Units of measure: The following units of measure may be used:
    •&#61472;TW (twip)
    •&#61472;PT (point)
    •&#61472;IN (inch)
    •&#61472;MM (millimeter)
    •&#61472;CM (centimeter)
    •&#61472;LN (line)
    •&#61472;CH (character).
    The following conversion factors apply:
    •&#61472;1 TW = 1/20 PT
    •&#61472;1 PT = 1/72 IN
    •&#61472;1 IN = 2.54 CM
    •&#61472;1 CM = 10 MM
•&#61472;1 CH = height of a character relative to the CPI specification in the layout set header
•&#61472;1 LN = height of a line relative to the LPI specification in the layout set header
    Examples:
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
Draws a frame around the current window with a frame thickness of 10 TW (= 0.5 PT).
    /: BOX INTENSITY 10
Fills the window background with shadowing having a gray scale of 10 %.
/: BOX HEIGHT 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a horizontal line across the complete top edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a vertical line along the complete height of the left hand edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT 1 CM FRAME 10 TW INTENSITY 15
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '10.0' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '13.5' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
Draws two rectangles and two lines to construct a table of three columns with a highlighted heading section.
    POSITION
    Syntax:
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the origin for the coordinate system used by the XPOS and YPOS parameters of the BOX command. When a window is first started the POSITION value is set to refer to the upper left corner of the window (default setting).
Parameters: If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value, in other words as a value which specifies an offset from the upper left corner of the output page. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value. If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to this parameter.
•&#61472;XORIGIN, YORIGIN: Origin of the coordinate system.
•&#61472;WINDOW: Sets the values for the left and upper edges to be the same of those of the current window (default setting).
•&#61472;PAGE: Sets the values for the left and upper edges to be the same as those of the current output page (XORIGIN = 0 cm, YORIGIN = 0 cm).
    Examples:
    /: POSITION WINDOW
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to the upper left corner of the window.
/: POSITION XORIGIN 2 CM YORIGIN '2.5 CM'
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to a point 2 cm from the left edge and 2.5 cm from the upper edge of the output page.
/: POSITION XORIGIN '-1.5' CM YORIGIN -1 CM
Shifts the origin for the coordinates 1.5 cm to the left and 1 cm up.
    <b>SIZE</b>
    Syntax:
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the values of the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameters used in the BOX command. When a window is first started the SIZE value is set to the same values as the window itself (default setting).
Parameters: If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to the current value of this parameter. If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value.
•&#61472;WIDTH, HEIGHT: Dimensions of the rectangle or line.
•&#61472;WINDOW: Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current window (default setting).
•&#61472;PAGE: Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current output page.
    Examples:
    /: SIZE WINDOW
Sets WIDTH and HEIGHT to the current window dimensions.
/: SIZE WIDTH '3.5' CM HEIGHT '7.6' CM
Sets WIDTH to 3.5 cm and HEIGHT to 7.6 cm.
    /: POSITION WINDOW
/: POSITION XORIGIN -20 TW YORIGIN -20 TW
/: SIZE WIDTH +40 TW HEIGHT +40 TW
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
A frame is added to the current window. The edges of the frame extend beyond the edges of the window itself, so as to avoid obscuring the leading and trailing text characters.

  • How to increase the size of window in virtual tool box

    Hi,
I have install rhel5 in oracle virtual box... but the size of window in which rhel5 runs is small and it is not covering the entire area of virtual toolbox....
How can i increase the size of window to full size...
    Thanks and Regards...

You need to install the "kernel-devel" and "kernel-headers" packages and then choose "Install Virtualbox Guest additions" from the Virtualbox menu, while logged in as root, in order to install the appropriate video driver that will allow you to resize the screen.

  • Why am I getting different results for the same resolution but different Windows boxes, Win 7 and XP

I am running an .exe on two different windows boxes, one in Win 7 and one on XP.  I set both for resolution 1024 x 768.
On Win 7 (laptop and old Dell desktop) I have a great looking app.  On the WIn XP boxes all the fonts to large.  THis doesn't make sense to me as all the PC's have the same resolution.

  • Size of 'open/save' window-box

For some reason the size of my 'open/save' window boxes have become full-screen in size.  How can I change it back to small window-boxes, please? Thanks!

That silly business where windows "snap" to the bounds of the display can be disabled, by the way.
Excerpted from my book Configure The Windows 7 "To Work" Options.  I've emphasiszed the setting you may want to change in color here:
Configure the New Aero Accessibility Enhancements
Windows 7 introduced some new features to help you arrange your windows on screen.  Some people like being able to maximize a window by dragging it to the top edge of the screen, or maybe tile windows side by side by dragging them to the right and left edges.
You can also enable Sticky Keys by holding down the Num Lock key.  Trouble is, it's possible you might do that accidentally - this can be confusing if you don't expect it.
Microsoft considers these Accessibility Enhancements, and they're on by default.
If you're like us, these things just seem distracting.
The good news is that you can turn these things off:
Click Start, type ease in the search box, and open the Ease of Access Center.
Click Make it Easier to Focus on Tasks (you may have to make the window larger and/or scroll down).
Uncheck [  ] Turn on Toggle Keys by holding down the NUM LOCK key for 5 seconds.
Check [  ] Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge.
Review the other settings while you're here.

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.

I'm having problems (1) selecting onscreen text, (2) resizing menu boxes and selecting menues with the cursor. I'm not able to select menus and move them. I'm not sure how to correct this.

    1) This is because of software version 1.1. See this

  • Having problems downloading itunes 10.5.2; box states windows installer issue. I have a 2005 with windows XP and service pack 2. Any ideas?

Just bought a new ipod touch for my daughter.  It won't sync without itunes 10.5.2 loaded on our computer (a 2005 HP with Windows XP and service pack 2.)  When I've tried to load 10.5.2, I get an error message box stating there is a problem with my Windows installer.  I've tried loading the windows installer hot fix KB942288-v3-x86, but it didn't help.  Any suggestion?

    Hi Lorheak,
thanks for the quick reply. I had the same idea already yesterday. I use Norton Internet Security for a long time now without any problems. I think this a Apple or Microsoft problem, because the popup window which appear come from Windows DEP. I got no message from the firewall with any problem. I check the log files from Norton and Windows already but find nothing. This is a very strange problem. In the past I have had a lot of other problems with iTunes upgrades. Everytime I accept the installation of the newest version I got errors regarding missing "msi" files.

The two other posts are correct... so I'll just clarify.  What's happening right now is your system is trying to boot into Windows in order to finish the installation.  What you want to do is make it boot into OS X.  As mende1 indicated, with your system off, hold down the Option key and continue to hold it while you turn the system on.  You will eventually be presented with an option to select which partition you would like to boot from.  Choose OS X.  After you get into OS X, again, as mende1 indicated, change the Startup Disk to OS X.  What this will do is cause your system to automatically boot into OS X when you restart it instead of you having to use the Option key when booting each time.
Relaunching BootCamp Assistant will allow you to remove your Windows installation and partition.
