IE 8 Update = No BT yahoo sign on/off option?

I ran the executable to uninstall my old bt yahoo browser. On doing so it also deleted the BT yahoo Broadband sign on and off software. Consequently I now remain constantly signed in to my BT yahoo broadband account and have an active connection at all times with no way to disconnect. Signing in and out of my BT Yahoo email account no longer has any bearing on connecting to and disconnecting from the internet.
I am worried that this will result in my breaching the terms of my usage agreement. The BT Yahoo icon in the customized IE8 browser provides no option for signing on and off. How do i log out of my account and disconnect from the internet?

If I was you ....
I'd uninstall everything BT ....
Maybe except for the hub software, if you use one.
And either get the latest version 8 IE browser .... or the latest Firefox browser. (preferred)
Let windows configure your network, not BT software.
Save all your logon details before doing anything ....
And get CCleaner to clean your mess up afterwards ....   www.ccleaner.com

    I have run CCleaner and cleared cookies. Uninstalled and reinstalled FF to no availe.
    When I close FF a box comes up telling me it has crashed.
    I can sign out of Yahoo in IE.

    the benefit of this https scan feature is at least questionable. in order for it to work, avast has to perform a kind of man-in-the-middle "attack" in order to get to the content of the encrypted connection (firefox supports a feature called [http://monica-at-mozilla.blogspot.co.at/2014/08/firefox-32-supports-public-key-pinning.html key pinning] which can be used by websites to address such MITM attacks and which also seems to pick up AVAST's interference).
    when you download files over a https-connection, they will be scanned by your AV software once they land on your hard-disk anyway. on the other hand it should be the job of the browser to make it impossible to get infected by malicious software by just surfing around...

    Typing in additional text seems to get the job done.  This seems to be a feature of the latest IOS update, I have never had the problem before the last update.
    I use the box with the arrow just to the left of the URL block at the top of the page to send myself links to pages of interest.  Adding the extra text seems like a pointless step, but it does work.

  • Java Update Oct 2012 Yahoo games issue

    I just updated Java on this MacBook Air and no longer can play online Yahoo Bridge.  I can sign in to yahoo games, I can get to the bridge lounge.  But if I am invited, the message is "error logging into server" and all the lounge tables listed disappear.  Same if I try to "Watch" another table or "Create" a table.  My partner can see me, but ne'er the twain can meet.  Please help if you can..

    There are reports of TV Shows missing from users screens, initially it looked like this might be an issue in the UK only, but it may well be more widespread. It appears to be an issue that can't be fixed by the user, you will need to wait until this is resolved by Apple.

At first the problem was that after the ios7 update my apple ID for icloud was prepopulated with my old ID. So after three days of trying to fix it, I finally just went on my mac and changed my ID back to the old one. I thought I solved my problems... I was able to sign into icloud on my ipad. Now today... my itunes apple ID is prepopulated with my ID I was using up until a few days ago. I am at a loss. I have no idea how to restart (or whatever) and just fix everything (icloud, itunes, and anything else that might prepopulate down the road that I don't even know about) ... I'm so frustrated! I'm glad the security is better but I wish there was an emergency code you could have emailed to you after answering extremely secure questions... or something. Please help. Thank you!

    I had a similar issue. I was able to sign into iTunes but when I tried to view my account information iTunes repeatedly asked for my password in an endless loop. I solved the issue by unblocking cookies in safari: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3388

    Did you buy this machine used or "open box" by any chance?
    The free iLife suite is tied to the AppStore now and copy protected, so if OS X was wiped off the drive and iLife reinstalled from AppStore, it's registered to the person owning the AppleID that installed it.
    Even if the machine gets transfered to a new owner and had a copy of free iLife like other software Apple bundles with OS X,  it can't be updated without the original AppleID.
    Surprising Steve Jobs said that copy protection won't work when dealing with the music labels, but on the other hand copy protects everything on AppStore instead of by developer choice instead.
    There is certainly a case for copy protection in certain cases, but no to the point it's on everything and becomes a problem for everyone.
    Your solution to this problem is either use the original AppleID or delete iPhoto and purchase it from AppStore with your AppleID.
    Your pictures are stored it the Pictures/iPhoto Library and will remain if you delete the program.
    If you wish not to use iPhoto, and need to get your pictures out, right click on the iPhoto Library and "show package contents" ot get to the Origianls folder.

    If you have bookmarked a specific link to log out and that link is no longer working the you need to delete this link. There is no guarantee that such a specific link keeps working and in such a case you need to abandon it and see if you can come up with a new link, but best is always to use a button or link on the website to log out.

    I have the exact same issue.  Started happening about the time iOS 5 was available.  Thought it was just server overload with everyone trying to download it at once but it has been well over a week now.  iTunes Support responded with a form letter response with links to solutions that I said I tried in my original email.  Need to make sure my Amazon Downloader app still works if Apple doesn't want my money.

    My Yahoo Sign in Seal gets deleted from the cache or wherever it is saved in my computer after I close Firefox (3.6.13) and I don't see it again when I restart Firefox and browse to the Yahoo login page.
    I used to have the 'private browsing session' checked. But after unchecking it and unchecking all the items in the 'clear history' section, the Sign In Seal problem is resolved. But I want the maximum possible Privacy settings that this Sign In Seal can withstand, ie the minimum possible sacrifice of privacy in relation to the Seal. My question is, how can I do that ? Is there any specific checkbox - unchecking which (and not unchecking all the others like what I've done now) will prevent the Seal from getting deleted ?

    You can't use Private Browsing if you need to preserve or access specific cookies. In Private Browsing mode the cookies from a regular session are not available. Firefox will create a new set of cookies for every Private Browsing session that are removed if the PB mode session is ended.

    everytime i try to hook up my ipod to my mac, it'll show that "do not disconnect" sign and then immediately turn off/the ipod screen will be blank. basically i can't update my songs on it because the "do not disconnect" sign clears off before i can even see the ipod icon in itunes. what's wrong with it?

    i thought you couldn't restore an ipod unless you could plug it into your computer and have it successfully turn up in the Macintosh HD window?
    and yeah, i tried resetting but the ipod doesn't stay on "do not disconnect" long enough to update ora nything.

    So try these steps:
    1) Sign out of the Creative Cloud app
    2) delete the opm.db file*
    3) update to the latest version of the Creative Cloud app.
    *On Windows 7, the opm.db file is located here:
    C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

    Since yesterday i noticed my BB 9300 signal sign is "OFF". I tried switching it off, removing the battery and sim for a few seconds and switched it on again but still the same. I already went to my service provider to check on my sim but it worked on other phone. They gave me a new sim maybe the sim has the problem but when in used the new sim still the sign is "OFF". I even tried using a different sim but still it didn't work. What should i do? what is the problem?
