IE border / outline problem.

I'm having a spot of bother with a Flash site I've done for a
client. It should be white with a white background, but on Windows
+ IE the flash part gets a border around it, as though windows
thinks it's a big button. A caption also pops up saying 'press
space or click to activate this control'.
The client doesn't want to see the outline/border
I only work on macs, so I'm clueless when it comes to PCs. My
questions are, is this an automatic setting in IE? Can I disable it
through flash?
Anyone get any advice?

Cheers for any help.

ha - no offense but at this point, it's actually getting
kinda funny - search - that's all i can say
is search - this forum, this site, google - anywhere - it has
been the most asked question on this
forum for months - been asked at least once everyday this
week - search for "active content" -
almost everybody here ignores this question because they are
tired of replying to it :)
good luck.

  • Photo border / shadow problem

On iweb (and until recently on my website - www.megevechalet.co.uk) the pictures had a nice light shadow.  iweb still shows the light shadow, but on the website all the photos now have a thick black border.  Does anyone know why this might have changed and what i can do to resolve it?  I'm absolutely certain I've done nothing on iweb to change it and haven't actually been on iweb for about a month (until today when i checked to see that on iweb the shadow is still showing).
Any help would be gratefully received!
    Thanks

Are you using Firefox to view the site and see the black boxes?  That's a problem with FF and some other browsers on photos that have had frames, drop shadows, borders or reflections added to it.
There's an easy workaround that removes those black boxes, reduces the number of files needed to render the page and speeds up the loading of the page.  Follow the workaround described in this tutorial: #7 - Converting Photos w/Frames, Drop Shadows and/or Reflections into a Single Image File.
    It works very well.

  • Border Radius Problem

I'm having trouble getting a border radius to work as I want. Please keep in mind my pages are works in progress. The corner radii of the footer div do not fill correctly when I apply a 1px border around the container div. There's a tiny bit of page background color that bleeds through at the lower rounded corners. Look here:
    http://www.kiefferfurniture.com/testcss.html
If I remove the border from the container div and add it to the footer div, then it does render correctly. Look here:
    http://www.kiefferfurniture.com/testcss2.html
Applying the border to both causes the border to appear as 2px wide where the divs overlap, and that is no good. How do I get a 1px border around everything so it looks and renders correctly?

I'm not seeing a problem in FF12.  But older browsers need proprietary code. Note the syntax difference for  Mozilla (whacky).
Also, older IE doesn't support border-radius.

  • How do I add a border/outline to a masked/cropped clip

This seems like it should be insanely simple, but I'm not seeing an easy method for doing it.
I have a mask around a clip.  I can click a button to add a drop shadow, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add a border.  If I use simple border, it doesn't conform to the cropped/masked area.   Any help would be appreciated.
Someone already suggested creating a shape behind the clip and then manually adjusting it so that the borders are the shape are slightly bigger than the clip.  I had trouble believing that was the easiest method.

Ok - the outline was faked, so we might as well fake the rest:
1 ) Clone the group with the outline
    To the clone:
2 ) Add Hue/Saturation filter : set the Value to 0 (turns everything black, no matter what)
3 ) Add a Gaussian Blur filter : turn the amount up until the "inner outlline" disappears.
4 ) If a 2D project, drag the clone layer under the original group
5 ) Use Properties > Tranform > Position for drop shadow "Distance"
    6 ) Use Scale to create different lighting effects (try Scale Y @ 30% Scale X @ 135%)
7 ) Use Opacity here as the Drop Shadow Opacity.

  • Linking to HTTP / Spry problem / Outline problem

    Three questions:
    1. I have DIV Tags with JPEGs in them and am trying to link them to existing pages (Facebook and the like.) Every time I get the cursor in the DIV Tag and click HTML in the Properties panel, I try to type the link into the "Link" flyout menu. However, when I click again ANYWHERE (mostly not even on the design page, but right outside the flyout menu) everything I just typed disappears. Am I missing something?
    2. I designed for a vertical spry navigation bar. I wanted spacing between the buttons, so I put a 13px margin as a property in ul.MenuBarVertical a. After this, the space between my buttons has turned white, but only in a browser (not even in live view.) Is there a color property I need to add and manipulate to make it not have any color, but just show what's behind the whole spry menu?
    3. This is probably my most crucial problem. Every single DIV tag that I put on my page (including my spry menu) has this annoying white boxy outline around it!!! It makes my webpage look insanely unprofessional. I do not want any outline, but for the background to just show behind any items I put on the page. This does not happen, however, with any DIV Tags that only have text in them, just my spry and any other tags that have backgrounds or JPEGs. HELP!!!

  • Border Layout problem

I have a JPanel set to BorderLayout. I have 2 JPanels inside it. One JPanel is set to the West and one to the East. They are both are set to GridBagLayout.
The West Panel vertically centers and the East Panel is vertically aligned at the top. Why is this? I would like them both vertically aligned at the top.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to add a border to each JPanel just to see what space they truly take?
The west JPanel problem might be caused by the fact that you forgot to give at least one of its sub components a vertical weighty of 1.0.
Also, a GridLayout(1, 2) might be more appropriate for the main JPanel, just because that's what GridLayouts are for :) .
When you're facing problems with JPanels, you can either use setOpaque(true) along with setBackground(Color.whatevercolor) or set a Border. That way, you can know whether it's the JPanel itself or its sub components that are not properly displayed.

  • Border Color Problem

When I printed with a green-colored border, it came out black, although all of the rest of the picture's colors were accurate. I don't see any settings that would over-ride the border color. Any ideas about what is the problem?
    Thanks,
    Tim
PS: A screen shot is at: http://www.pbase.com/xygoat/image/89094277/original.jpg

No idea. Just tested on Win XP Home with a green border 10 pixels and printed fine. What platform?

  • Border Colors Problem

I am having a problem changing the color of a selected border within a cell. I try in inspector, but every time I change the drop down to thin, it automatically swithes back to none. When I try in the format bar, it does not allow me to change the color, even if I reset it back to none. I've tried deleting the lines and inserting new ones but the same thing happens. I have not "locked" the cell or anything so I am really confused. Please Help!! It is a real pain cause it ususally happens when I am on a roll, Murphy's Law.

    Britainy,
This has been asked before and I think the key to this situation is following these steps in order as you open the process:
    1. Select cell(s) in table
    2. Choose desired border configuration (top, bottom, box, etc.)
    3. Line type
    4. Line width
    5. Line color
Your post described your problem, but I'm wondering if you may have skipped step 2.

  • Is anyone else having table border rendering problems in Firefox 3.6.7 for Mac?

I recently applied a Mac Firefox update (not sure which one, but I'm currently on 3.6.7) that introduced some strange table border rendering behaviors. Long story short, on certain pages that I visit regularly, the right-most table borders are now rendering erratically. The problem does not occur in Safari or Chrome on Mac, nor does it occur in IE or Firefox on Windows. Seems specific to Mac Firefox.
To reproduce, using Firefox 3.6.7 on Mac, browse to the following URL:
    http://www.relativityreport.com/?page_id=963
...and note the erratic rendering of the right-most table cells on the page (you may need to scroll down to the bottom-most table to see the problem...but not always). They should be gray, but often appear blank (not necessarily all at once). Refresh the page a few times and note how the missing borders randomly appear and disappear. Now click your browser's back button. When the previous page has loaded, click the forward button to return to the affected URL. Note now how all cells render correctly.
    Thanks!

I am also getting a similar error. When I increase the border width to 2px or more it becomes sort of eroded.I am using windows 7 firefox 4. Borders seem fine in all other major browsers including IE9.

Did you choose A4 in the paper size selection in the program you are printing from?  What program are you using to print from, and have you maybe tried a different program?
Are you able to print this project onto a different size page successfully?

  • Want to border/outline polygon icon

I'm trying to outline/border this entire icon, but so far all I can do is use the rectangle marquee and get this image.  Is there a way that I can automatically outline the image including the triangle marker at the bottom?
    Thanks for your time!

One way since the image has transparency around it is to use a layer style>stroke.

  • E63 black outline problem

    Hi guys,
I have a rather strange problem which is aesthetic rather than technical. The black contour/outline surrounding the actual screen is fading away in the right side of the screen. Well, not really fading away as it doesn't disappear but more like, instead of being straight it;s become curved. What could be the problem and how could I fix it? Could it be that water got there or something like this?
    Cheers!
    Maia

i also having same problem. please do something. when i have visited nokia care center ,they replied it is manufacturing outline but anothor nokia e63 doesn't have this type of problem when i checked anothor e63. i have bought before 6 months.

  • Transparent outline problem

    Hi!
I just switched from old CS2 to CC and I have a problem I can't solve or find a solution.
There's a transparent outline around every image that I make in my Photoshop. It's just 1 px thin and not fully transparent, look at the screenshot please. Is it a bug or bad settings?
    Lukas

As I understand you right, you want to use a top layered image with transparent parts. If this is the case, you should use the same color for all transparent parts in the picture and use a paint program to change the transparent color to the color mentioned. I use always microsoft paint to do this. (picture-attributes-transparent...)
the colored parts will automatically appear transparent.

  • Cell border selection problem

I have a spreadsheet that is a week at a glance schedule for a dance school. There are three columns per day, each representing a different studio location. Each row represents a 15 minute block time. I have been trying to create a border for each class (class times vary from 45 minutes to 2 hours) while leaving the in-between lines blank. For each 45 minute class, I select the three cells in a column, scroll down the border selection tool and select the outside border icon, next select the type of line, then the weight, finally the color, and so on. Once I get about 50% done working my way across the spreadsheet, buggy things start to happen. For example, a horizontal line will extend across several columns, sometimes intersecting previously defined class blocks. If I try removing the errand lines, then all the frames that do require a border at that position get their border errased. I them have to go back to those cells to re-assign a border segment, but then the unwanted horizontal line will reappear in the blank cells again. Very frustrating. Also, in my opinion, there are some cell frame options that are missing in this program. I t would be nice to have a button to select the top and bottom of a frame or group of frames at the same time. At present, you have to first select the top border, format it, then the bottom border and format it. Same goes for left and tight border sections. You can't select the two outside edges to apply the same style/thickness/color. Excel's border formatting commands are much better in this regard.

    Hi Jim,
I played around with the border options today and although I didn't have the borders going where they were not wanted I understand your frustration having to set either all four or just one border at a time.
Just as an option, would filling the sets of cells with a light colour for each class work better for you?

No. I'm not using the last 1.6.1 file, because I have change
