IE causes some PC's to shut down browser when visiting my sites

When some people using PC's visit my sites using IE, they get a message syaing that there is an error and that IE has to shut down. Sometimes they can view certain pages then others result in a browser crash. Though there are some people that can view the pages fine in IE. Does anyone know what might be triggering the shutdown? Are there any realistic solutions other than asking everyone to switch to MAC?

You probably won't convince people to switch to Mac, just because they couldn't view iWeb sites. But you probably have better luck to convince people to switch their browsers. See this thread:

  • Each time that I go into edit with Photoshop Elements 8 it causes a physical dump and shuts down

Each time that I go into my Photoshop Elements 8 it causes a physical dump and shuts down.  I have only used this program a few times although I have had it a few years.  The first couple of times it worked fine; but now, it shuts me down each time.  I have already tried unistall and reinstall.  Help!

Well, can you try opening just the Photoshop Elements 8 (from the Start menu) and see if it opens Editor from Welcome Screen or not?
It it still crashes, please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    Close Elements.
Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

What causes the iPhone 4S to shut down to a black screen when it has full power? I have cleared the open icons and it works for one day then shuts down again.

Software hiccup, glitch or maybe faulty battery. Restore iPhone with iTunes on computer. See if this helps. If still problem that you think is serious enough to fix, all iPhone 4S have full Warranty. Make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • HT1725 I was downloading some songs and iTunes shut down.

I was downloading some songs and iTunes shut down. It says I've purchased a song but it isn't in my purchased playlist, but it charged me for it. How do I get the song, or get my money back?

You've tried the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your computer's iTunes, and does it show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes ?
If not then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Perhaps you could try this to resolve your issue: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
Try booting up to Safe Boot and see if you still have this issue in "safe mode." This will help you determine if the issue is caused by 3rd part sofware, or some other type of OS corruption.

  • Windows 7 shuts down unexpectedly when I close my lid

I recently installed Windows 7 Professional x86, and recently when I close my lid my computer instead of going to sleep, which is what the power setting is set to, it shuts down. When I open my computer, I have to turn my computer on and when Windows loads, I get the 'Windows shut down unexpectedly' window. Has anyone heard of this happening or has had it happen to them or knows how to fix it?

Didn't find anything in the Action Center. But did find similar events that match the times in the Event View that said the following:
'The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error
could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power
    unexpectedly.'
They all has the source as being Kernel-Power, Event ID of 41, and Task Category of (63). Searched Microsoft's website and it didn't return any results. Despite this, it hasn't happened since I originally posted this. Hopefully it doesn't start doing it again. Although one thing I remember it saying on the 'Windows has experienced an unexpected shutdown' window was something about a blue screen. But I never saw one. And I don't know what would even cause this to happen cause I never had this problem when I had Windows XP Pro on my Mac.

  • MBP shuts down unexpectedly when on battery

Today my MBP shuts down unexpectedly when on battery. It started at about 50%. I seems to happen if I don't a thing for a short while when I read something or so. I most of the time when using mu MBP have it on the net cord but today I wanted to work the battery.
Does anyone know what it could be? I have searched in the forum but the answers hasn't been satisfying. I find it weird that I have to use the keyboard or the track pad to keep going.

Not sure what the cause is but you can try resetting the SMC.

  • MacBook shuts down unexpectedly when the MagSafe is touched or removed

Hi, I got my new MacBook during November of 2009 but two weeks ago it started shutting down by itself once I touch the magsafe of the macbook or remove the magsafe. All it needs is a simple touch and it shuts down. When it does shut down, the light indicator doesn't come on anymore. I have to keep removing the magsafe, and plugging it back in like 20 times until it starts charging again. So now I just let it fully charge every time I use it since any sudden movement will cause it to shut down. I will be making an appointment next week at the apple store because I had no time to go these past 2 weeks. I never dropped it and take good care of it. I am just wondering what might be the cause of this? I hope they do not take weeks to fix the mac since I have a lot of homework to do... Thanks!

Anything is possible, but a firmware issue is not very probable.
Did Apple troubleshoot and repair your Mac? It's not the iBook as listed in your profile is it?
If Apple recently did the repairs and the problem persist then you should contact them, as they are obligated to fix it.
Did they for sure rule out the Magsafe adapter?
Which board did they replace? The logic board or just the DC board? Or both?

Windows 7 shuts down completely when laptop not in use, closing all programs.
when I want to start using it again I get "Windows did not shut down properly" screen and have to restart.
Other pc's normally just require password to return to previous state. I would like to know how to amend this, pls?

    Hallo
I understand what happen but you dont offer any relevant info for better understanding.
Do you use original OS that you got with your notebook?
Have you installed some additional software that can be reason for this unexpected shutdown?
Is your notebook on AC power supply when this happen?
Does some application runs when this happen (download)?
    > Other pc's normally just require password to return to previous state. I would like to know how to amend this, pls?
I dont understand what do you mean with this. Which password and which previous state?
What you see on your notebook is normal for unexpected shutdown.

  • Shutting down problems when connected to modem

Hi, my Mac (updated to Tiger 10.4.11) does not shut down properly when it’s connected to my D-Link ADSL modem. But it shuts down fine if it’s not connected to the modem.
These are the symptoms when i try to shut the commuter down when it’s connected to the modem:
Even though the screen has gone black, the yellow light on the modem is still on,
and the caps light on the keyboard is still on. The computer sounds like it’s still on instead of complete silence. Then the computer’s fan starts up and stays on unless I swtich off at the mains. When I switch off at the mains, the next time I turn the computer on there’ll be a notice saying it was restarted after Mac OSX quit unexpectedly!
I used to get around this problem by unplugging the modem before the blue screen came up during the shutting down process, and the computer would shut down fine. But recently this no longer works and the Mac appears to crash and a notice comes up saying I need to hold down the power button to restart the computer.
Occasionally the computer will shut down completely with no lights on the modem, weird noise or fan going, but this is rare.
I know it’s not neccasary to shut down the computer, but I like to switch off all electricals at the mains at night before going to bed. Any help would be appreciated as I’m worryed I may be messing up the computer long term.

I would look in one of the log files to see if there is some error message. The consol log contains mostly start-ups type messages, but some applications write to it nevertheless. The system.log contains messages from applications and other messages written after startup.
Next, I would check to see if there was some disk corruption. See bdaqua's post.
    Console
You can use the console application to examine Mac OS log files. The logs will contain information on various system processes.
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Console
    File > open console log
this will display the startup messages
    and
    file > open system log
once the system is started, messages will go into the system log
