Basic user with little knowledge, but with 9800 do I need to be concered with IE issues and change browser on BB for safety?

Hello,
BB's do not run IE, so there is no need to be concerned in that regard. Some BB Browser versions can be configured to run in an IT Compatible mode, but they are technically not IE.

I'd say your best bet is to try to regain access to your old account. Call 1-800-MY-APPLE, and ask to talk to the account security team. Hopefully they can verify you are the account owner, and then reset the password for you.

Why is it that Apple have no interest in helping I have a iPhone 4S and since updating to ISO 7.0.4 I have no wifi at all told me it's a hardware issue and I will be charged for the repair as it's just over a yr old so I've got a 24 month contract so 12 months with a phone that is not working right I have read loads of other people that have the same problem so how can they put it down to the phone and when asked where to take it was told to google it not happy at all apple u need to sort it out never again am I buying anything for yourselfs again DISTGUSTED would be an understatement
No joy at all they just keep saying it's the phone but was fine before update and @metasolaray why should I pay for extra cover when the fault is not the phone but the update they have put out for everyone to install and I am far from being the only person as there is hundreds of people going through the same with this update and it's not been the first time they messed it up

Apple should take resonsibility for this, otherwise they will lose lots of loyal customers. I have moved away from the ipad due to expense and am now very tempted to do so away from the iphone. Selling a product that prompts an update that breaks the phone is not good.

Have had the same issues with iPhone 4S since the upgrade. No wifi button, battery draining every 8 hours with no use, phone shutting on & off for no reason at all. I gave in and tried the hair dryer method. Turned the phone off and hel d the dryer over the camera lense area for one minute. Turned the phone back on and to my shock, had wifi button back again. That was 2 days ago. Battery is lasting normal amount of time again and I can use wifi again! Hopefully this will last. I know it doesn't work for everyone but it doesn't hurt to try. Much better than spending the $200 at the Apple store, which by the way, the genius said Apple is aware of the problems but there is nothing they can do.

I have exactly the same issue, apple are phoning me this evening. I am not happy and this has really put me off using iphone. It's my first iphone and if Apple don't fix it, it will be my last iphone!!

Having the same issue: iOS 7.0.2 with no WiFi / poor Battery stamina and really slow software experience when opening several options at Settings icon.
Apple care agent contacted me and we try all alternatives to isolate and detect if this is regarding a hardware problem. Of course they told me it is. Too sad. My phone is in immaculate condition.
My mother has an Iphone, my father has an Iphone, my 2 sisters have Iphones, my brother, wife and daugther... we all have Iphones. Mine's the only one with this fault (my personal experience: fail prob is 12,5% -1 out of 8).
At this point, I'm evaluating to stop buying apple products for fear that in the future the same will happen with some "premium" product that ultimately they are not.
Too sad, sorry but this is too much.

I got my 4s in August 2012, as an upgrade on my Vodafone contract Following the installation of IOS 7 I also experienced greying out of wifi and bluetooth. I tried various options suggested on forums however none worked. I took my phone to Vodafone who told me it was a problem they were aware of but couldn't do anything about as Apple had to deal with it. I took it to my nearest Apple store (60 miles round trip!) to be told it was not their responsibility, it was Vodafone's - something to do with consumer law! They also said I would have to pay £160 for a replacement phone as it couldn't be repaired. The 'Genius' was very cagey about it being a common problem by the way!! Back to Vodafone who said it was not their responsibility so back to Apple. This time I spoke with a Manager who told me in not so many words that it was an issue and agreed to halve the replacement cost of £160 to £80. By this time I just wanted it sorted to reluctantly paid £80 for a replacment phone. Seeing as this is CLEARLY a design fault, Apple should have replaced it free of charge. This experience just confirms what I am reading in lots of places about the Apple Company. I was going to buy an iPad but have decided not to now. I shall NOT be replacing the iphone when my contract is up. I too will be writing to BBC Watchdog.

You will probably be told that the solution is a replacement phone. Ask to speak to a Manager and insist on getting it at a lower price. I did this and got it at 50% of the usual repacement cost. Still not ideal but at least it saves you a bit of the money you shouldn't have to pay in the first place!

I depend alot on my Iphone and this Wifi greyed out issue is really getting to me!! This caused me to lose some business, but I'm sure I will make up for that in Andriod World. Switching back to andriod should have never switched to apple in the first place.

4s owner in the same boat as everyone else.
I setup a service call with apple on Monday this week and was told it's quite a common hardware failure. When I asked why I should be paying for a new phone I was advised to book an appointment in store. Well I've just returned from my appointment with a "genius" who told me that when the update is installing if any component is weak when installing it will be permanently disabled. Was then told £150 for a new phone which I declined.
I've had iPhones for 4 years now but due to this issue and apple washing their hands of any responsibility it will be my last.
Disappointed that a premium product has such poor backup from the manufacturer. If it was only my phone and not thousands of others I'd have probably paid for a new phone but I'll never give apple another penny again.

Same problem with my partners iPhone 4s. Restored the device but still no luck. Going to book an appointment but it sounds like we wont have much luck as it is just over a year old.
Nexus 5 time I think for both of us.

If you are using the iPhone camera zoom then remember that this is a digital zoom not an optical zoom. The zoomed in area will have fewer pixels and not appear as clear. The more you zoom the worse it gets. It's like cropping a picture after it has been taken.

1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled. -

After that I have had. My ipad off for 7hours, I need to know if there are any other steps I should take? I can't afford for the apple protection plan yet may r in a couple weeks, I felt horrified. Y camera could me accessed and my privacy was compromised just hope someone can help me thanks.

i understand that this is a common problem and some folk have already post similar post, however i find that confusing or maybe i have not search enough.
here is my problem:
we have gone live for 2 year, since 2009. we have posted depreciation based on the old depre key for the last 2 years. in the current FY, the auditor have found a mistake and wanted to change the depreciation key and post the unplanned depreciation for the overcharge. may i know the correct steps to execute this change? and is there any important area that i have to pay attention to?
please take note that the current FY is already coming to an end.
example of steps:
1. post the overcharge amount through unplanned depreciation AFAA
2. change the depreciation key and change the start of depreciation date, expired useful life
3. run depreciation posting for planned and unplanned

1. You create a separate transaction type for this purpose of else use 640 or 641. Posting them by using AB01 or ABSO. At this point this will be at FI-AA only, when you run depreciation to AFAB, then the GL entries will be posted.
2. You need to execute LSMW in order to change the Dep. Key, Depreciation Start Date and Expired Useful.
3. You run the repeat run in AFAB, if you have already posted the depreciation, otherwise, usually select "planned posting run".

Interesting Presence issue and changing the domain
I've got an interesting problem that I recently posted about in a different discussion forum.
Basically I've got a presence setup. This is federated with an OCS. The OCS domain is something like company.com This is the same as the email domain, and the SIP uri's are sip:[email protected]
The issue is that when the presence server was set up, the proxy domain was set as something like cmp.local. cmp.local is the domain for the entire internal MS infrastructure. The problem appears to be that this conflicts with the internal domain. So when looking up in the directory instead of getting the OCS domain it gets replaced with the cmp.local. Functionally this results in the jabber client being unable to add federated OCS contacts from the directory as they just get added as internal jabber contacts.
I'm thinking of changing the domain on the presence server to something like jabber-cmp.local, i.e. a domain that doesnt exist. Once we migrate to jabber we'll change the domain again back to company.local so we can federate externally properly. Does anyone have any experience of doing something similar? Any pitfalls anyone can point out?Federation can only be setup a few ways
- Intra domain (company.com federated to im.company.com)
- inter domain (company.com federated to abc.com)
- Intra domain partitioned (Company.com federated to company.com)
You need to define this to make any of the with CUPS 8.6.4 (you should run latest and greatest). Now, depending on which version OCS you have R1 or R2 is important as well.

[VIA] KT880 temp issue and changes after S3
I have 2 systems with the KT880 board One hase AMD XP3000+ /1 G dualchannel ram (pc2700)/ATI 9800 Pro with artic cooler that vents out the back of the case . the other is the same except AMD XP3200+, with 1 G ram(pc3200), they are both in Antec plusview cases. I have had the same result with My temps on both systems and IN ADDITION the 3000+ system reports that the FSB is 174 or higher (No overclocking and FSB set at 166 in bios) the error shows up in CPUZ , Everest home addition, core center. the 3200+ system does the same in reverse insted of 200 FSB it drops to 174 0r 178 the temps on both run about the same 50c on CPU min use or idle and 40/41c system. After resume from S3 the FSBs are off and the temps of CPU and Sys are almost the same 44cpu / 42c sys . after reboot of the system all is good. Befor anyone says it I updated Bios to 1.09 removed and reinstalled core center all updates are current and both systems are clean installes of windows XP home.

In addition the AND 3000+ it is the 333FSB modle all of the components on the board are the same as was on a MSI KT4 ultra board and same PS (thermaltake) same amt or ram the only dif is now they are in Du Ch mode. the temps on the KT4 board were 37-39c CPU and 36-37 c sys. the 3000+ is set for 333 FSB (166 in bios) multiplyer (AUTO) ram at 1:1 (333). The 3200+ set at 400FSB (200 bios) multiplyer (auto) ram at 1:1 (400). Fredric replyed to this as part of another string and suggested that I not run more than 1 monitoring program at a time , I didn't think it would be a good idea to do so , so I do not. Each monitor software was started and then terminated before checking the next. Using ThermalTake volcano 12s on both cpus.
I will check the PS rail specs, however if the only change is the MOBO and setting the same 2 stick of kingston ram in dual channel mode I don't see that as being a factor.
These 2 boards are my 4th and 5th MSI boards with Via chip sets. 1= KT3 ultra (still working great in my niece's PC that I built) 2= kt4 ultra (the one that the 3000+ was in is still working great in my nephew's PC that I built) 3=kt880 that the PCI slots went belly up and I kept getting "check sum errors at boot (currently in RMA status) 4 & 5 are listed above in my kids PC's and they generaly run warmer than I like and the anomalies of the readings after resume from S3. I am less satisyed with the KT880 boards than the others.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually ended up using MPEG, which is fantastic; however, I was a bit overwhelmed by the export options.
I'm sure there's a thread around here regarding this, but I'll ask you anyway: is there a common/recommended export setting for FCP? I used Quicktime > Apple DV/DVCPRO - NTSC (full quality).
I tried reading about Demuxing and could not make sense of it and I noticed there is also a Export to DV option.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I am happy with my 4s.
In Italy you can have officially unlocked iPhones and Vodafone gives me 2 Sims with same number (master/slave).
Now I have the slave in an WM HTC which I use as second telefone going in places like beach, or in unsafe places.
Of course the WM is not so pleasant to be used and I am planning to buy a low cost old iPhone to replace it.
Asking your suggestion: I wish to use it with iCloud with iCloud Mail and another IMAP provider, sync with Mountain Lion iTunes for Adress - Notes - Mail - Calendar - iMessage. No interest in Music and video but Streming Photo could be interesting.
How low can I go back ? Will 3 be enought or should I need to stay on 4 level ?
I have read that some unofficial unlock could not be easy to detect and thic could give sync problems in future: since I will probably buy it on eBay or similar place, which will be the best test to check the phone aginst jailbreak ?

The best test is don't buy it from ebay to begin with. Either buy one from someone you know personally and trust, or spend the money for a legitimate unlocked new phone. -
How to change the Data Foundation for an existing Business Element
My Issue:
I have quite a few reports that use the same Business View. The Business View has an under lying Data Foundation that uses a Dynamic Data Connection (DDC). I no longer want to use this DDC because production users are complaining they do not want to have to select a data source each time (multiple times when the report includes sub reports) they run/refresh their reports.
The Holy Grail:
I would like to change the Data Foundation that my Business Element layer is built upon and use another data foundation with identical tables, linking, and fields. The new data foundation would be using a production connection. This solves my immediate issue and has a great side benefit of providing a convenient way to promote reports from development to stage/test, to production and would not require production users to have to select which environment they want their report to run against.

When I look at the Business Element layer Property Browser, I see a Data Foundation Property but is is disabled (such that it can not be changed).
Is there a way to change the Data Foundation that is used by an existing Business Element layer ?

How do I get support for Windows 7 on, and a W7 backup disk for, my new ThinkPad?
I know these have got to be stupid questions, since I am sure that they have to have been asked before (unless they are clearly explained somewhere that everyone else has found, and I am somehow completely missed it), but I did search the forums and was surprised NOT to find any info on getting Windows 7 technical support after it was factory installed in a month-old Thinkpad. I wonder if the apparent defects in my W7, or maybe a different problem in my browser, could be affecting my ability to search to forums?
I believe that my Windows 7 is defective, but calling Lenovo, they just talked about reinstalling Win7 from the partition, which makes no sense, if my W7 copy is defective, wouldn't the copy in the partition be defective too? My mom said she ordered a $20 W7 backup disk with the PC, but I never received it, and now Lenovo tech tells me those aren't actually available, and she must have confused it with the W7 upgrade disk, which didn't sound right, since I thought the upgrade disk was over $100, and I never received that one either anyway. If the W7 that was factory-installed is defective, I am assuming it's a copy of the same one in the partition, so that partition recovery is not feasible, is there any way to reorder a W7 re-install disk that will still register as Genuine Windows 7 on a Thinkpad? Now when I search the Lenovo site, I cannot find ANY W7 disks of any kind, neither a backup for factory-installed W7, nor for upgrade from a prior Windows version. Does anyone know how I could go about re-ordering the W7 backup disk when it appears to be missing from the online catalog? Unless this too is a defect in my browser search: can someone give me the link to page where I could select and re-purchase a W7 backup disk?
It has been a few years since I had a new PC, but I have never even heard of one before that did not come with instruction manuals and OS and support disks, and did not provide any tech support for its own factory-installed software or Windows, at least during the first few months of ownership. Where do new Thinkpad owners turn for individual W7 software support, since Microsoft swears it is Lenovo's responsibility to support W7 under its OEM license, yet Lenovo swears they only support hardware? It almost seems that new users are expected to know everything already, or be initiated enough with the product to know exactly what your problem is and what's causing it, in order to find an online fix. Who do you call if W7 or Lenovo software (but not an ISP issue) appear to be doing something to prevent online access, but there are no discernible hardware issues? Where do you call for individualized W7, as well as Lenovo software, support, especially after no one online has ever heard of your specific issues and has no workable ideas for fixing them, or when your problem prevents you from getting online at all?
