hello davidbutterly, it sounds like a theme or extension might be interfering here. please try launching firefox in safe mode once and see if the issue is occurring there too. in case it's working correctly, please go to firefox > addons > extensions and disable/remove any extension that look suspicious/you didn't install intentionally or that might interfere with the tab loading behaviour.

My computer keeps trying to load the latest ugrade/security fix for Firefox, seems to do so but then tries to do so again. I have version 3.6.11

I can't add too much to the above. I get the message that it is "Downloading the update", tells me to restart Firefox but when it opens it again tries to update but then doesn't get beyond "Connecting to the update server."

Fire fox is not loading face book, the page is all off to the left and it just keeps trying to load, and there are no pictures

i have be trying to load facebook all day, but it just tries to load and the writing is all off to the left, and keeps trying to load. the face book login page is magnified and all wonky. i thought it may be a task bar , so i had the Zynga tool bar removed, but the problem still exist...

I have to do a navigation system with Lego's hardware. My English is not really well and I don't know how to install all the drivers and thinks I need to work with Lego mindstorms and Labwieu 8.5.
I have in my computer (windows vista) Labwieu 8.5 and the tool kit too. But I thinks I need to install more things because I have always warnings when I do any application (like a simple display).
With more specifications my problem is:

Compiling the above minimal c++ code into a clr dll gives the same cryptic
"an error occurred trying to load the assembly" when the .net constructor node tries to load it.
I am far from a .net expert or a c++ one for that matter.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox. 
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

When adding music to iTunes, you can set it to either make a local copy of the file, or simply point to the original location of the file (for example, on an external hard drive). If it is set to do the latter, it will not be able to play or transfer those files when the external hard drive is not plugged in. You may find the following article helpful:

You can't open one Profile more than once. You need a separate Profile for each browser on each PC that you open.

Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

LabView hangs when trying to load the same VI with a different user logged onto Win2k

When 'User A' is logged onto Win2k, a particular VI loads and runs fine. When 'User B' logs onto the same Win2k box, LabView hangs when trying to load the VI.
I'm also not seeing the setup channels in the Data Neighborhood in MAX when logged on as 'User B'. I tried loading the configuration when logged on as 'User B' that I think is being used for 'User A', but nothing happens.
Where are the configuration files (of whatever type) that tell LabView which user is logged on?

There are no configuration files that tells LabVIEW what users are logged on. It is Win2K permissions settings that allow different users access to different folders and applications. Try changing the permissions for the LabVIEW folder and see if that doesn't fix your problem.

I have made sure that the Administrator, which I assume is me, since this is a single PC, has Full Control access. What else can I do? I removed Adobe Reader and reinstalled it, with the same result.
