IE opens at logon

My company has a web filter gateway that all external traffic must pass through. This gateway requires AD authentication. With our new Windows 8 clients, it appears that windows does a check for internet access, and when it encounters our gateway
rather than the expected site, it launches Internet Explorer. This happens each time a user logs on when the device is connected to our corporate network, but does not happen when on home networks (where there is no gateway).
Am I correct about my assumption that Windows is doing an internet connectivity check? If so, is it possible to disable this check?

You need to disable proxy settings in IE when using from no gateway zone.
control panal-Internet Opetion- Connections-Proxy settings-(Automatically detect proxy settings)
If still issue. You need to check IP address and gateway on remote zone. and log on as local user not a domain user.

We were using a.abc.com domain for our portal, then we changed to d.xyz.com. Everything works fine except the Holiday Calendar iview (under ESS-Working Time). It opens up with the logon page, once we login it takes us to the calendar screen, which is not recommended. According to my understanding this occurs as MYSAPSSO2 cookie is getting deleted there, plz correct me if I am wrong. Also plz help me with your valuable answers.

you are now using for your portal d.xyz.com and I think for your ESS a.abc.com.
You get an SAP Logon Ticket for d.xyz.com and this is not valid for other domains like a.abc.com.
That's why you must login in your ESS.
The solution is
a) all the systems must be in the same domain
or
b) you must configure the portal so that the portal will create two SAP logon tickets one for d.xyz.com and one for a.abc.com.
You will see some more infos in help.sap.com

Automatically opens upon Logon and after force exit

iTunes and iTunesHelper automatically start upon logon. I have removed iTuneshelper from Login Items but the entry is always replaced. I have used force-exit on both iTunes and iTuneshelper only to find both processes running later. I have uncheck open automatically for all my devices and removed wireless syncing. Does not matter iTuneshelper and iTunes run throughout the day!
Any help would be appreciated.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

GRC10 - EAM - Transaction Code GRAC_SPM opening remote logon screen

Gurus,
We are on SAP EHP 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and Plugin patch level 007. Have configured EAM.
IN AC system Firefighter executes transaction code GRAC_SPM.Firefighter selects FFID, enters reason code ,details and clicks logon. The next screen is asking autnentication of target system (Remote Logon screen in SM59) .Please can you suggest if this issue is related to RFC or configuration.

Are you on SP06? If so, and you are sure that the RFC connections have been set up correctly, as well as all the SPM related configuration at both the GRC and plug-in systems (SPM ID = Service type, SPRO etc), you probably need to consider implementing the following SAP note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1652880.
This fixed a similar issue I had when we moved to SP06. I understand that this note is delivered as part of SP07 now.

NWBC 2.0 logon failure to ABAP/JAVA stack system

Maybe not the correct forum, but there isn't any for the NWBC.
I am testing the Netweaver business client 2.0. It seems to work fine for portal connections, but when i try to connect to a netweaver system (abap+java) using the internal ITS url (http://host:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui), i get an error saying:
Could not open the logon window on server <host> (server URL http:// <host>:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui, logon URL http://<host>:8000/ticketissuer/TicketIssuer?NWBC_avoidCache=460486210'); check if the URL is valid and the server is running
The URL works fine on the NWBC 1.0. Is there something significantly changed in 2.0? Does the 2.0 version only accept portal URLs? I can't find any documentation on this.

Portal Run time error after changing the logon screen

Hi all,
I am running an EP7 SP08 and I try to change the logon screen as described on:

I copied the 'com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak' file, renamed it to 'my.new.logon.par'. after that I extracted the file with winzip. I opened the directory 'PORTAL-INF\lib\' and there I extracted the file 'umelogonbase.jar' with winrar. I opened the file 'logonLabels_en.properties' and changed the entry 'xtit_WELCOME=Welcome' to 'xtit_WELCOME=blablabla'.
I repacked the umelogonbase.jar with winrar again and after that I repacked the 'my.new.logon.par' with winzip again.
Then I placed the par file back at '<J2EE_Engine_Instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<X>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd' and changed the authscheme.xml with the new par file and changed the 'login.authschemes.definition.file' all described on the help.sap.com url mentioned above.
However, when I restart the portal and open the logon screen I see the error message:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
The exception was logged. Inform your system administrator..
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
The default trace shows the following message:
An error occured during authscheme computation.

Check if you did the following steps pertaining to the authschemes.xml file:
--> Download the authschemes.xml to local drive. Rename the file to,say, authschemes_new.xml
--> In authschemes_new.xml, did you change <b>all</b> entries of com.sap.portal.runtime.logon with the name of modified logon par file?
-->Upload the authschemes_new.xml file using configtool; and, change the property login.authschemes.definition.file to authschemes_new.xml in configtool.
-->Finally,restart your portal. Hope it helps.

Change default language for the logon Page

Hello,
On a SAP Portal 7.0 SP 17 I've a problem with the language of the Logon Page: is always in English.
If I go to internet explorer -> tools -> internet options -> languages I've set Franch as language.
When I open the Logon Page (http://xxxx:50100/irj/portal) all the text are in Englisg: Welcome, User ID, Password, Log On. While the iViews and Pages are in Franch.
Does anyone tell me how can set my Logon Page in French without edit PAR file?

Hi Alessandro - I am sharing an Excel sub that works for me by opening up logon pad, signing on to production, gettting credentials, then going into SAP and doing a transaction, and finally asking the user to click ok to terminate the session. I think this is something that there were questions on how to do the session close nicely but not sure if there is a solution yet.

Logon Page Customization in SAP Portal 7.31

Hi Experts,
I am planning to change the look and feel of the Logon Page for Portal.
The current page is already a customized one.
For making the changes, I requested and got the following files.
1. tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war from <drive>:\\usr\\sap\\<SID>\\J00\\j2ee\\cluster\\apps\\sap.com\\com.sap.security.core.logon\\servlet_jsp\\logon_ui_resources\\tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war
and
2. tc~sec~ume~logon~logic_api.jar from drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.logon\servlet_jsp\logon_app\root\WEB-INF\lib
The below is the screen shot of nwa/auth properties.
The file which was sent to me and the properties look like, standard logon module only.
I am not sure if the file is the custom one. How to find if its customized. In the layout folder, I couldn't fine any images in the current custom logon page.
I don't have access for deploying the ear. I have to send to the Server team and they only will be able to deploy.
Kindly advise me on how to proceed with.

if your are modifying a existing custom logon page first you will be requring the source code of that custom logon page ,Get it and import it in NWDS and follow the steps mentioned in standard help.
if source code is not available ask your server team to provide the custom logon page EAR file ,reverse engineer it by importing the EAR in NWDS and modify it as per your requirement and following the steps mentioned in help.
to know if you are modifying the correct EAR go to application.xml and check what is the application alias mentioned over there same will be configured in NWA under alias for application for login
as per your screenshot its mentioned as /new_logon
<context-root>new_logon</context-root>
Also check the J2EE engine .xml and check if you have your client name mentioned as company name.
Other check you can do id check images in the war file if those are present which are appearing on logon page when open,you can right click on image on opened portal logon page and get its name check in NWDS imported project war file if those images are present.you can do other chaecks in rendered code as per your customization to confirm if you are modiftyinfg the correct logon page ear or war file.
i guess if you dont have any the previous custom ear it might be under your provider location and application alias folder location not sure of it though :

you can ask your server team if they found any war file in folder <provider name> or application alias folder or how many war file they found if they search with tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war file ,aks them to give the one which is situated in your <client/provider.com > folder.

Problem opening a query in BEx Analyzer 7.10

Hello,
we have problems with the BEx Analyzer, an empty screen is
displayed when we open a query.
I'm going to explain the steps:
We open Analyzer, goto open query, logon into BW window appears and then, before the screen to select query from an Infoarea, roles, etc is load, the Analyzer seems to open the SAP Logon and an empty screen from R/3 appears.
We can not close this R/3 empty window, only when we close the Analyzer this windows is closed.
The problem happens with the SAP GUI 6.40, so we updated to
SAP GUI 7.10, installed patches, addons and windows/ office
patches but the problem persists.
How can we solve this issue?

I get the following message when opening WAD either from Business Explorer or from the start menu of the window.

What is your front end patch level ? to find out , open the Logon pad ad right click on the icon on the status bar and select about , you will know the patch level for the same , that might give you some idea , what you have to possibly do is implement a front end patch.

Flash File in Logon page

Hi there,
i want to create a new Portal Logon Page.
I want that a Flash File is playing at the Logon Screen.. top left.
I changed the umLogonTopArea.txt to the following:

But when i open the Logon Screen i see Only a RED X... it did not load the Flash File.. can somebody explain why?

Remote logon from client 001

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to remote logon from client 001 to other systems?
to be moer clear, I have a SCM system client 001 and create a RFC destination to R/3 say client 600. Will it be possible to remote logon from SM59 to R/3?
It is not happening for me. it is neither giving any error nor opening the logon screen. Or even logon. What am I missing?

Hi Ragu,
It is possible to remote login from client 001 to other system clients.
While you configuring make sure that the user must be having S_RFC autorisation object.
In SM59 specify IP Adress insted of host name and check authontication test.
If it is sucess user id password is correct and make sure that you have given Dialog/service user in SM59 logon& security tab.

Run an applescript as launchd opens ScreenSharing app?

2014 iMac - Yosemite, 2009 MacBookPro - Yosemite, LAN on a 2013 AirPort Extreme. Screen Sharing and Remote Access both set up and working fine.
I am clawing up the learning curve on a few things as I try to get one simple thing to happen:
When I Screen Share from my MacBook Pro to my iMac I want the screen resolution on the iMac to automatically switch to one that the MBP user can read (the 27" iMac screen when shown on a 13" MBP screen makes it very difficult to even tell what the icons are, and impossible to read text.)
In an ideal world, the resolution of the iMac's screen would switch back after the Screen Sharing session is ended - but this isn't hugely important.
I can't find a solution that doesn't require me to have a constantly-listening applescript running on the iMac, but I just don't like that idea.
From a past life on Windows, I know I could launch an application with parameters - either by triggering events on launch by injecting your own commands that ran before the 'run' command to the exe file or you could redirect the exe path to a script that ran the exe at the end of the script after doing other stuff. But I've never done that stuff on Apple before, and don't really know where to start.
Searching here hasn't turned up what I want, probably because I don't know what terms to use in the search.
So, here is what I'm wondering:
1) What is the name of the application that displays itself as "Screen Sharing"?
2) How is this app launched by launchd when launchd gets the request on port 5900?
3) Is is possible to make an applescript run when launchd launches Screen Sharing (with a redirection of path to a script that changes resolution THEN launches screen sharing)?
4) Is it possible to make another script run when a screen sharing session closes? If so, point me in the right direction?

(BTW, I am really surprised that the screen sharing app doesn't already have the ability to do this. Long ago when I used VNC on Windows machines it would resize it for you.)

After some further testing in Profile Manager I found that adding the applescript to items that open at logon seems to work. No need for the plist, unless of course I decide not to use Profile Manager at all.
