Hardware: AIX 6.1 L7 SP3
Software: Siebel SBA 8.1.1, Patch 8.1.1.5
DB client: DB2 Data Server Client V9.7 fixpack 4, 6, 7
Database: DB2 V10 for z/OS
Web Server: IBM HTTP Server 7.0
Setup: Installed and configured all major Siebel components, Loaded seed database, imported database, entered password. Siebel Gateway, Siebel Server, Web Server processes are all started and running. Web Server display root index page, Siebel Tools able to login and open Siebel Repository.
When I entered http://192.168.104.114:8888/fins_enu into IE, it displays this error:
The server you are trying to access is either busy or experiencing difficulties. Please close the Web browser, open a new browser window, and try logging in again.[10:57:28]

This is the very first attempt to login through web client, thus, I can't set position or other parameters.
I did another installation with ALL users/passwords set to SADMIN/SADMIN.

Recently my mail program has changed itself and I can no longer see the red, yellow and green dots allowing me to close minimize and enlarge. To get out of mail I have to put the cursor on the top edge of the toolbar expanding to another toolbar that will allow me to quit mail. This is a real pain right where my mother never kissed me. Move the mouse to the far upper right corner of the screen. You should see a blue box with two arrows pointing inwards. Click that blue icon. Sounds like you put the Application into whats called Fullscreen Mode.

Can't login on my MBP, main screen is damaged, secundary screen only show background of login screen
I have an 17" MacBook Pro, purchased in 2007, it's running 10.7
Recently the screen got smashed, I'm tryin' to start it with an external monitor so I can retrieve my data,
but I got a multiple user login screen, and all I got on the external monitor is the image of the background pattern.
Any ideas of how can I log in?10.7 is Lion, right. So your login screen is images with the user names underneath?
I think you could try using the left arrow several times,to bring you to the first name...
then hit return and type the password, since I believe the password box would be highlighted
IF that works, not sure how you would get the display shifted over to your external monitor, since it doesn't sound as if it was set up to mirror the main display.
Not much experience with external monitors, and not able to test at present.

So yesterday I went to do some work on my laptop.
My laptop is from about 2005-2006 so it's pretty knackered. Everything was going just fine but then my Avast! Security software notified me saying "VIRUS DETECTED" so I tried to go on the avast application but it wouldn't open. I tried to open my browser but the icon just bounced and stopped and them nothing happened after! So i clicked on the apple sign and clicked shut down. Then the system wouldn't shut down. So i held down the power button causing it to shut itself off. The next day I opened the laptop and turned it on. It made the healthy turning on noise and I can hear the fan working perfectly fine. The startup screen is showing. This is an all grey screen with the Apple logo in the middle and a spinning circle in the middle, the circle has been spinning for over 10 minutes now and I do not know what to do. I use this laptop for literally everything and I cannot possibly afford to replace this . I am hearbroken as I know that there is a possibility that I will no longer be able to use this laptop.
I would be extremely grateful if someone helped me as I am truly devastated. :(

Hello, I have such problem. My TouchSmart IQ500 when turned on shows only startup screen.
When I turn on the TouchSmart IQ500, it shows only startup screen.
Pressing F11 (System recovery) does not affect anything.
Pressing F10 - it writes entering setup... and nothing more happens
Pressing F9 - also no response.

It sounds a LOT like a dead hard drive, running diagnostics would be a good place to start. -
Looking for oracle.siebel.configurator.screen.Configurator
I'm exploring an upgrade of Siebel 8.1.1.3 to 8.1.1.10. The software upgrade seemed to go without errors, and I believe I need to do an incremental repository merge. However, when I run the command to kick that off (/opt/siebel/config/config.sh -mode dbsrvr) I get an error saying "Could not find the main class: oracle.siebel.configurator.screen.Configurator. Program will exit."
I'm running Slackware Linux on my test box, I know unsupported, but 8.1.1.3 has worked fine so far. This server has all the Siebel components installed on it in /opt/siebel. I have sourced the siebenv.sh file beforehand. I have examined all the jar files in my siebel install directory and cannot find that class.
Can someone tell me what I am missing?

1. Have you sourced dbenv.sh before launching DB config wizard?
Before you run the Database Configuration Wizard, you must source either dbenv.csh (for C shell) or dbenv.sh (for Bourne or Korn shell).
2. Then run below command for Siebel Database Configuration Wizard:
install_path/config/config -mode dbsrvr
In this path, install_path is the installation path for the installed Siebel Enterprise Server software. for example:
/siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/config/config -mode dbsrvr
3. Another important point to include here is IRM implementation is different in Siebel 8.1.1.10 and Siebel 8.1.1.11.
In Siebel 8.1.1.11 you need to launch DB Config wizard to run IRM, refer MOS document 'Innovation Pack 2013: Siebel 8.1.1.11 and 8.2.2.4 Incremental Repository Merge (IRM) - FAQ and Troubleshooting (Doc ID 1623495.2)'.
BUT for Siebel 8.1.1.10 IRM is not run through DB config wizard.

My iPod is stuck on the startup screen, showing just the apple logo. Has anyone had this problem before? If yes, then how did you solve it?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Calendar App which Shows Day or Week on Startup Screen
Anyone know of an app that shows the current day or week on the startup screen? In other words, when I power on in the morning, I'd like to see the current day's or week's events pop up.
There is no app as that screen cannot be modified by any apps.

My Macbook starts up, shows the screen saver, then immediately goes to sleep. I tap the spacebar, it comes back for a second, shows the tool bar and the hard drive icon then immediately "goes to sleep". This can go on forever, on, sleep, on, sleep. I can only see the screen for maybe 3-5 seconds; not enough time to do anything. Someone did step on it, so I don't know if the problem is with screen or ??

This sounds like screen curtain may be enabled. Screen curtain is a feature that allows display privacy. To disable screen curtain while VoiceOver is enabled, you can three finger triple tap the screen to disable this feature. You may need to press the home button once in order to process these steps. White Startup screen doesn't show always
This might seem trivial, but when I load my new Macbook Pro (500gb 15" new model), the white screen that shows it's on and loading doesn't always appear (loads maybe 1/4 of the time). Sometimes a light flashes on the top but generally it's completely black until the desktop loads. it will show up about 1/4 of the time. I always shut down from the Apple logo at the top. It's not a big deal, but I'm worried it's a sign of problems to come. Thanks!
I'm guessing you did not carefully read your owners manual, did you? Unless you are not going to be using your computer for several days at a time there is no reason to shut it down. Your manual states:

*If you’ll be away from your MacBook Pro for only a short time, put it to sleep. When the computer is in sleep, you can quickly wake it and bypass the startup process.*

Mac Pro 2006 tower, not showing gray startup screen - "asleep" till desktop appears
Mac Pro 1,1 Dual-Core Intel Xenon, 2.66 GHz, 5GB ram, 2 internal HDs of 500GB and 1T. OS 10.6.8
I suddenly "lost" the normal gray startup screen on my Mac a few months back. I get just a black monitor screen until the desktop appears. I'm having other issues too and want to run disk utility off an external HD to fix internal HD permissions. But when I hold the option key and start, I can't select the external as a startup disk without a startup screen. Any ideas?
I'm wondering if adding the second internal HD may be the cause of this and other apparent memory issues (slower performance, web pages slow or not loading in all browsers, Finder folders only opening after a "wakeup" wait). They seemed to happen around that time, though I can't say I notice an immediate change. Could simply adding more HD real estate be the issue? Thoughts on that too?
I've tried the using Disk Utility before but can't recall if I ever got it to work on the 1T HD due to that lack of a startup screen. I've also played with plug-ins/extensions in browsers and can't say they're to blame.We have a 2.66 MacPro 1,1 still running fine at present, the original graphics card was replaced by Apple as part of a known issue. This was over 4 years ago, close to the end of the cutoff period for the known issue IIRC.
I'd suggest you contact Apple & see if you can sweet talk them into doing something about the graphics card, even if it's just arranging a better price on a replacement. I recollect at the time of the exchange Apple was switching cards based on the installed OS. Having 10.6 installed meant we got a NVIDIA 8800GT, earlier OS's meant other cards were offered instead. I think it came with a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT (but I could be wrong - ask me to dig out details if you want to know for sure).
P.S.
Assuming the disk doesn't contain your user data, shutdown & remove your second HD to see if it runs any better, I find that the OS will wait for what feels like a lifetime when requesting data from a disk that has gone to sleep. SSD's change your perception, booting from one will freshen up the Mac, but won't fix the no graphics at boot issue, sorry. -
Startup Screen Pixelated - I really need help on this one.
15" Macbook Pro - Spring 2011
My startup screen sometimes would be pixelated with the Apple logo and then would go to grey screen and do nothing... then I would be forced to shut down and power it up again. On two occasions, the bootup would have stripes on it. See photo.
And then the occasional lockup while working on something would happen and I was forced to power it down. This would happen periodically and not every day.
So... I had this problem a couple of months ago (for several months) and the Apple store kept my Macbook Pro for a few days and said there were reported no problems. They were clueless as to why I had the above screen show. They said... maybe it is a bad installation of the OS and that it got corrupted.
So a couple of months later and I am now I am having the same issues again. But this time, I had bought another HD and installed Mountain Lion on it... and I have it connected via USB. I had used it several times before last night when I held the option key down to choose my startup disk to be the new HD via USB. Then I get this pixelated screen again, but this time it was at the startup disk screen. See Photo.
It's like you have a car problem and you take it in to the shop only for it to not malfunction... I really need some guidance on this one. My AppleCare warranty just expired (was valid during my visit to the Apple Store)... And I am not a happy camper... I always use macs... and I teach everyone who has them how to use them.
So to be clear... This is the same internal HD that I had when I took it to the Apple Store. (Lion)
I installed Mountain Lion on a new HD connected via USB and have worked off of it for a few days with no problems, choosing it as a startup disk.
Last night booting with the option key held down I get this pixelated screen, whereas before it was never pixelated holding the option key down.
So I have a couple of questions:
Is the Boot Screen above run by the motherboard or the HD? If it is the MB, then I need to talk with Apple again.
Does anyone have any clue what is happening?I have reset my PRAM and switched out my RAM.
If this screen is run by the same HD in the laptop, then maybe I just need to take it out....?
I would appreciate any genius expertise. I am a little frustrated that I am having this problem and cannot narrow it down. I use my laptop extensively for presentation, graphics, and teaching and now I am afraid of it.Your 10.7 EFI may be corrupted.
The way a Mac works is EFI is updated via Software Update, it's written to the OS X partiiton, then gets loaded into the hidden EFI partition and read/used upon the second boot.
So it takes two reboots to load EFI and goes into the EPROM boot memory.
My terminolgy might be inaccurate as I didn't take a Apple course for certification, but I understand a little about the boot stage from my Linux on Mac experience.
If your 10.7 EFI is corrupted on one drive, and you've got a 10.8 clean EFI on another, then it takes two reboots from the same drive to clear and use it's EFI into boot memory.
So if you've booted 10.7, then option booted to use 10.8, it could be the corrupted 10.7 EFI still in memory.
The way to fix the corrupted 10.7 EFI partition is a total wipe and format of the entire drive to catch the hidden EFI parition, then install 10.7 fresh and update.
Of course Apple made this difficult with Recovery Partition which won't allow a complete drive erase.

Since your out of warrantly, you might want ot just go ahead and repalce the internal drive and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the SAP BPC "three globes" startup screen when we start BPC. I do not want it to pop up.
I looked at VBA behind the workbooks but could not find anything. Could not make the sheet invisible.
Is there a way to get rid of the screen? This is the screenshot

OK then, now v7sp03 for microsoft has hit the shelves, you can change the logo !!!
It is quite easy.
Have the logo file ready in either BMP, GIF or JPG format.
Put it in your "Server Install -> DataWebFolders[Appset]" folder (so where you keep your files).
In ApplicationSet parameters, add the parameter COMPANY_LOGO and in the options type the name of the file you just put on the server.
Now if you restart BPC for Excel, the second excel page that pops up should be showing your new logo or graphic (mine did).
The use of the logo has been documented in the admin manual -> working with appset parameters
Some tips.
I wanted not to clutter the filesystem so i put my logo in the appsetpublications folder and added the path accordingly in the parameter (so now it reads appsetpublicationslogoname.jpg instead of just logoname.jpg).
If you do not supply a name (only the parameter), your second Excel window (normally holding the graphic) will not appear. That could be an alternative too if you find that whole thing annoying.

Tecra M4 Hangs at POST (startup) screen, no beeps...Help!
Hello everyone,
Currently my Tecra M4 shows the initial startup Power On Self Test (POST) screen with the Toshiba logo and various icons under it signifying what I think is the boost sequence. It then freezes. There is no beeping, and I cannot enter the BIOS (nothing happens when I press Esc or F1).
The laptop did not have any physical trauma before this freeze-up started (literally sat on a desk between working and non-working). I hope it's not a hardware problem, but since I can't even get into the BIOS, I don't have my hopes up.
Here is what happened immediately before this symptom began happening: I had the computer on (and it was working perfectly) and it went into stand-by mode on its own. When I tried to revive it, the screen stayed blank. After waiting around for a few minutes, I held down the power switch to force it to shut off. I then turned it on and there was a message saying "Resume failure" and it froze. After waiting for a few minutes (the Toshiba POST screen never shows up) I turned it off again.
After that, every time I turn it on now, the system hangs at the initial Toshiba screen and does not respond to any keyboard commands. After I press Esc or any other key 15 times (in an effort to get to the BIOS) the computer starts beeping anytime I press a key. Otherwise, there is no beeping that occurs before that.
The system was fairly fresh off of a factory reset of the hard disk and the BIOS was last in its default settings. I have disconnected all power (the battery, power cord, and the little NiMH battery connected to the motherboard) for an hour, but that did not help.
Do any of you have any suggestions? How can I further troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have!I wouldn't reconnect the hard drive with the machine running. Best to shut down before doing that.
It's possible the cables were coming loose on the drive, but not likely.
Perhaps try reconnecting the drive and putting her G5 into Target Disk Mode. If it'll do this, you might be able to see if the drive has issues by running something like Disk Utility or DiskWarrior on it from the computer it's plugged into.
