IE vs FireFox, Netscape

Please need some help guys.
I designed the website using dreamweaver 8. all in tables
layout. it looks fine with Internet Explorer but on Firefox,
Netscape the tables cells look wider than normal. e.g I put borders
on sub headings cells (top n bottom brd). on IE looks fine with
those ones look distance "from top to bottom". "not impressive" I
tried to reduce Height of cells doesn't work. any suggestion
please. will be appreciated.
thnx

  • Inflated SWF Flash file cannot play in IE but Firefox & Netscape

    Hi all,
I'm trying to do some file protection by inflating a SWF
    Flash file.
Once the Flash file is inflated, the filesize grows but does
not add any physical data bits to the SWF file.
After that tweaking, the SWF file cannot play in IE 6.0
    (Internet Explorer).
However, it still plays perfectly well under Firefox &
    Netscape.
I know IE use Flash ActiveX while Firefox & Netscape uses
Flash plugins. Is it the reason for such behaviour?
Any advice to make the inflated SWF file to play in IE
    please?
    Thank you very much.

  • What is WebEx Support Manager for Firefox/Netscape/Chrome? I didn't install it!

I found a new program - Cisco WebEx Support Manager for Firefox/Netscape/Chrome v 6.5.4917 installed on June 29, 2009 , which I did NOT install! This program showed up after installing Revo Uninstaller for the first time today (July 3, 2010)! Is this part of Firefox? Or did a hacker install this onto my computer without my consent?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== I had to Clean Install Windows or my internet security program!

No, it's not a part of Firefox. It may be a plugin type of program for non-ActiveX browsers to provide functionality that ActiveX provides in IE.

You might want to ask them how it may have appeared on your computer.

  • AdobePDF Plug-in for Firefox & Netscape 10.0.1 won't update for me

I check my plug-ins almost daily. Adobe Acrobat needed to update. I have never had trouble before with this.
It's Adobe PDF Plug-in for Firefox and Netscape 10.0.1 that won't update. Thing is the Adobe Manger came on and it looked like it was done and in my Add-ons box it's there but the plug-in on my Firefox plug-in page says it's outdated. I tried to install it several times and the Adobe Manger downloads but site still says it's outdated. My Adobe Reader X works fine though. Maybe this is something I don't have to worry about but I don't know. So, I'm asking for some help.
Also, even though this didn't update correctly, when I did update the first time it brought along a new plug-in called getPlusPlus for Adobe 162103, at first I disabled it in my add-0n/plug-in box but I read that this helps Adobe Reader and I enabled it. But the Plug-in box remains grey and says unknown. So, should I disable it?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
    Sincerely,
    Debbie

No, it won't interfere with your Adobe Reader X as it is only the problem with the plug-in. Your Adobe Reader X will still function normally. You should receive a notice from Adobe in your PC to notify you there's an update waiting to be installed, if you have chosen to be notified:
Open Adobe Reader X > Edit > Preference > Updater and choose whatever option you prefer.
Or you can also check for update periodically at Help > Check for Updates

  • Footer not staying at bottom in Firefox & Netscape

I have a webpage that looks fine in IE but in Netscape and
Firefox, the footer div is not staying down at the bottom of the
page like it is supposed to.
There is a "content" div which contains the 2 divs "nav" and
"actual content". "Nav" is floated to the left and is 155 pixels
wide. "Actual content" has a left margin of 155 pixels and is of
course to the right of "nav". In both Firefox and Netscape, what
seems to be happening is that the footer div is shifting to the
right just enough to clear the "nav" div and then moving up just
underneath the "actual content" div. This descripition is occurring
on my template page which has no actual content so that is why the
"nav" is taller than the empty "actual content". On a page that
does have words, etc in the "actual content" div, the footer does
stay beneath the "actual content" but if the "actual content" is
still shorter than the "nav", the footer is still shifting right
clear of the nav and jumping up just beneath the "actual content".
Currently "content" is positioned relatively. The 2 divs
inside of content, which are "nav" and "actual content" are not
specified as far as positioning (which I think defaults to
static???). The footer div which is not contained in the "content"
div also does not have positioning specified.
    Can anyone help?

  • Downloading Firefox/Netscape??

I have tried to download Firefox and Netscape all with the same result...........it gets all the way to the end and then says "MOUNTING FAILED"
    what should I do?
    Thanks

MamaDrag, have you by chance tried to Repair Permissions, and then Restart your computer and try again.
If you are not familiar with this, Go to Mac HD, and choose Applications, Scroll down to Utilities, and when it opens choose Disk Utility and then on the left single click on Mac HD and highlight it then go to the bottom and click Verify Permissions.

  • Adobe PDF Plug-In for Firefox & Netscape 9.5.0 not installing

Win 7/ FIrefox 10/ Chrome 17/ IE 9 (All current)
I've asked this on other support sites, not getting THE answer. Be easier if I could copy/paste here, but here goes.
I download the title plug-in to my download file. Once I click on run, nothing happens, I wait 15-45 minutes, then retry to install. I get a pop-up window says "Only a single instance of this application can run at a time:" I am not getting a download progress window.
I have also attempted using Revo Uninstaller Pro to install it, same results.
I have disabled my virus blocker during this process also.
And I have followed the Adobe direct download link, but it will only let me select my OS, and language, not the version.
Close down everything start from scratch same thing. I have tried right clicking on the download, exiting browser & running as an administrator, same results.
I get the feeling, since the initial download is so brief that it is not really downloading, but what do I know.

    Hi Jeff,
    Thanks
I have narrowed it down to; I have the current Adobe Reader installed. Firefox Plug-in checker is telling me that it is vulnerable & needs updating. I have no idea why. I have posted it on their forum page, but haven't received any replies, I posted it yesterday. Still if you have any info that might be helpful, since I am flying by the seat of my pants, I would appreciate it. I like to drive a car-don't know how to mechanic on one.

  • Adobe PDF Plug-in for Firefox & Netscape ''9.4.1'' was causing unresponsive problems on my browser and I had to disable it . Is there anything I can do about this?

I was getting an unresponsive script warning on most web pages, but more persistent on Windows Live telling me to stop script or continue. I could view the pages by doing both and the only way i could stop the warnings from appearing was to disable the Adobe PDF Plug-in. Increasing the time for the script to run didn't seem to work either. It was taking too long for the pages to load and Firefox used to hang.
After disabling the plug-in it stopped doing it.
Does disabling it effect my browser in any other way?

    Hello Vivek,
I have learned I do have the latest Adobe Reader installed and that the plug-in is included in that download & install. So apparently the problem lies with the Firefox plug-in checker.
I did the ALT + H, while in FF, & deleted the file, retried update, using the Firefox Plug-in Checker w/same results.
Then I exited FF, did the Windows key + R typed in %APPDATA% & located it then deleted it, and now wouldn't you know the Plug-In Checker is not working, (We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later.)
Just gave it another shot & it's working . But still no joy, same results, showing the plug-in needs updating - being outdated version.

  • Safari "Failed to Open Page", unlike Firefox, Netscape, etc.

I am getting this only with Safari -
Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.apple.com/” because it could not connect to the server “www.apple.com”.
This happens on every page I try and open, but only with Safari. I am using firefox right now.
I have erased the cache, trashed the com.apple.safari.plist thingy, turned off popup blocker and everything else that I have read on these posts.
This is very similar to Karen C's problem from earlier today, except their discussion stopped short of telling what to do if only Safari is not working. What are the next steps to fix this?
Also, until I get this fixed, how do I set email preferences so that hyperlinks do not try and launch Safari?
    Thanks! -

    thanks anyway

  • Problems With Flash Player 16 NPAPI? (Firefox, Netscape, etc.)

I installed FP 16 NPAPI on my computer recently and noticed on my next log-on that I was having problems.  Have any of you had any of these problems like I have had?:
My computer became very slow to boot-up; My main antivirus program had been shut off; I had to turn on updates for my OS (Windows 7); My cleaning utility programs were disabled.
I finally restored everything manually, but the same thing happened after I logged off and rebooted!  After getting things back up again I started to search for the cause. I used my cleaning
utilities and discovered that in my start-up programs a "new" program had been added that was identified as "questionable or hard to identify". This program is called Adobe Speed Launcher.
I deleted it, but after a few log-ons, IT REINSTALLED ITSELF!  I did a search for Adobe Speed Launcher in my Start search, after finding it nowhere in my Adobe program files. I found that the
file had been placed twice in an unrelated cleaning utility!!!  I deleted both copies and now I'm waiting to see if it somehow comes back. This program wreaks havoc on my computer!
Have any of you had a problem with this?  And has anyone found a way to stop it from reinstalling? I wont know until after my next few boot-ups if my solutions are effective.@@

    What is your problem?

  • Problems opening Firefox or Netscape after migrating from old iMac to new

When I set up my new iMac I migrated my internet settings and other preferences and apps from my old iMac.
Now, I can't get Firefox, Netscape or even Internet Explorer to open unless I have my old iMac on and connected via Firewire and router to my new one.
I get a dialog box telling me that: Connection Failed in bold letters and then the following: This file server is running on your machine. Please access the volumes and files locally.
I had a wireless connection on my old iMac cause I needed to connect a windows pc laptop to get on-line in order to work. I have a wireless router which is now connected to my new iMac as the main computer.
Before I turned off and unpluged the old mac whenever I opened Firefox or Netscape my old iMac drive would pop up on my desktop and my browsers would open up instantaneously without a hitch. All other apps open without a problem.
    Any suggestions will be welcomed.

  • Mymedicare.gov informed me I cannot access from Firefox, only Explorer. Why?

I tried to sign in to mymedicare.gov for over 30 minutes without success. I called their phone support and was informed after they checked all my information that they no longer support Firefox, Netscape or any browser except Internet Explorer by Microsoft. Is this legal? Why will they not support Firefox? I hate using Explorer as I have more spyware, adware and virus problems when I use it.

IE should be on your system; it is required for some parts of Windows to work correctly. You can use an add-on in Firefox to access and display many IE-only sites in a Firefox tab. The add-on uses the IE engine, so be sure that your version of IE is the most current, IE8.
