Ie10 32bit and 64bit version and processes mix

few days ago I asked about download links for official (MS) IE 10 here on forum.
It was provided:
IE10 (x86): http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/A/C/8AC7C482-BC74-492E-B978-7ED04900CEDE/IE10-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe
IE10 (x64): http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/E/0/CE0AB8AE-E6B7-43F7-9290-F8EB0EA54FB5/IE10-Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe
Computers that I am installing IE10 are running 64bit Windows 7 Full and Embedded. The description below is exact for both types of OS.
1. x86 version from the link above doesn't run on 64 (the message: not compatible with OS you are running)
2. x64 installs fine.
Some confusions:
a) in about of IE no BITs shown which may mean 32 bit browser running. This is not a problem I saw that About is not a "reliable" place for the info.
b) in all programs only one IE icon appears and there are no 64bit in icon name (usually 2 IE icons appear, one for x64).
c) when right click on a IE icon in all programs the path is c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\... that indicated 64bit IE.
But in Windows Explorer there are no Program Files folder and only c:\Program Filed (x86) in which Internet Explorer resides.
d) and last: in task manager Processes when start IE 2 processes appear: iexplore.exe and iexplore.exe *32
Looks like I got some "hybrid" of IE. And 32 bit version is not there
I don't really mind about it as soon as it will not create any problem.
As I know 64 should perform better but could have incompatibility with 32 bit plugins (I have to check with our apps suppliers).
Could somebody clarify or confirm that what I am experiencing is normal?
And also 64 bit IE vs 32 bit pros/cons.
Thx.

Hi,
Yes that's all expected.
Enhanced Procted Mode on IE Desktop
By default EPM is turned off for the Intranet and Trusted Sites allowing 32bit activeX, plugins and addons to run.

Is it possible to support Logic in 32-bit plug-ins in future updates? How about to make a bridge built in Logic. I would have long ago moved on to a new version of Logic, but I have the equipment (UAD-1 and Liquid Mix), which are not run on the Loqic X. So I would suggest to make a bridge in Logic X. As it was in version 9 of the Logic.

In addition.. Focusrite have stated they will not be releasing a 64bit version of Liquid Mix as they consider it outdated software these days.... even though at one point a limited release beta version had a 64bit AU version included but it was so unstable it was rapidly dropped...
However the 32bit to 64bit bridge plugin 32 Lives,  states it will handle and 'convert' the Stereo version of Liquid Mix to 64bit but not the Mono version... within LPX
    http://www.soundradix.com/products/32-lives/compatibility
Finally, like others here, I would be extremely surprised if Apple added 32bit AU support back into LPX..  That '32bit tech' is long dead and gone....in terms of modern DAWs... as it is in other DAWs such as the recent PT versions...

  • When i try to download the new version of iTunes, I get an error message saying the download was for 32bit and I need the 64bit. How do i download 64bit?!?!

When i try to download the new version of iTunes, I get an error message saying the download was for 32bit and I need the 64bit. How do i download 64bit?!?!

Which I get. But clicking on that link you provided does not give you the option of choosing between 32 and 64 bit installers.
Yeah, that was certainly a 32-bit installer file being referred to in the other message, too. (The 64-bit installer file is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)
Just in case it's an issue with your normal browser not working properly with the system-detection equipment on the page (there's a javascript control that checks for operating system specifics, and is supposed to deliver the correct Mac or Windows installers), let's try a different web browser for the download. If you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa), do you get offered an iTunes64Setup.exe instead of an iTunesSetup.exe?

  • Solaris S10 U2 (06/06) 32bit and 64bit download version

I download Solaris 10 but I found that it is a 32bit version. I would like to ask that how can I get 64bit version for Solaris 10 U2
    Thank you

I try to install 64 bit by edit GRUB /amd64/unix before install but the system "Panic" but now I am installing 32 bit version. This server has ever install 64 bit version when it first reach and it is automatically choose for me and I would like to try to install update 2 so that I start to fdisk and install in again. Is it the hardware problem regarding this issue? Because I connect Liteon DVD-Rom directly to the motherboard but on the first time of the installation, the 64bit version come up automatically but this time is set 32bit as default. Is anyone ever found this problem?
    Thank you for all answer.

  • Uninstall labview 32bit version and keep 64bit version

How do I uninstall the 32bit version of LV2009 and keep the 64bit version operational?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Labview 64bit and 32 bit versions are indipendent. It is important to note that not all modules are 64 bit compatible.
Below are a few web pages with FAQs on the differences between labview 64bit and 32 bit.

  • Regarding 32bit and 64bit libraries

    Hi,
Can any one please clarify my quries below.
    1) What is the difference between 32bit and 64bit library.
    2) How to identify the 32bit and 64bit library? Is there any naming convention fallowed?
    3) From which version onwards of Sun Studio, 64 bit libraries are supported?
    Regards,
    Vignesh

The platforms suppported by Sun compilers have both 32-bit and 64-bit modes of operation. The two modes cannot be mixed in a single program. A 64-bit platform can run 32-bit code, but not the other way around.
On the supported platforms, 32-bit mode is known a ILP32, meaning that types int, long, and pointer are all 32 bits. 64-bit mode is known as LP64, meaning that type int is still 32 bits, but types long and pointer are 64 bits. (Other systems, not supported by Sun compilers, can have different definitions.)
The 64-bit mode of the processors supports different instruction sets. The amd64 processor also has different register sets. The layout of objects is different in the two modes, and the way functions are called is different. (There are other differences as well.)
A program compiled in 32-bit mode must link to 32-bit libraries, not 64-bit libraries, for reasons which I hope are now obvious. A program compiled in 64-bit mode must link to 64-bit libraries.
The Sun compilers automatically link to the right library version of system libraries, as long as you use consistent options when compiling and linking. For example, you could build a 64-bit sparc program this way:   CC -xarch=v9 -c f1.cc
      CC -xarch=v9 -c f2.cc
CC -xarch=v9 f1.o f2.o -o myprog The 64-bit version of the various system runtime libraries will be linked automatically, given the -xarch=v9 option on each command line.
If you create both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of a library of your own, you must arrange to name them differently or put them in different subdirectories. If you give them the same name and put them in differrent subdirectories (which is the convention for system libraries on Solaris), you can use different -L options at link time to point to the right directory.
You can use the Solaris "file" command to find out whether a program or library is 32-bit or 64-bit.`
Example, this time on a Solaris Opteron system:
    % file /usr/lib/libCrun.so.1
/usr/lib/libCrun.so.1: ELF 32-bit LSB dynamic lib 80386 Version 1, dynamically linked, not stripped, no debugging information available
    78% file /usr/lib/amd64/libCrun.so.1
/usr/lib/amd64/libCrun.so.1: ELF 64-bit LSB dynamic lib AMD64 Version 1 [CMOV], dynamically linked, not stripped, no debugging information available

  • 32bit and 64bit for tuxedo client and OS

    In Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit,
    1. Could I setup "tuxedo client for 32bit" and run applications compiled in windows 32bit environment?
    2. Could I run applications complied in windows 32bit environment after setuping "tuxedo client for 64bit" in Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit?
    Thanks a lot.

    Bill,
Applications compiled using a 32-bit compiler or linking in 32-bit libraries must be used with 32-bit Tuxedo, and applications compiled using a 64-bit compiler or linking in 64-bit libraries must be used with 64-bit Tuxedo. It is not possible to mix 32-bit binaries and 64-bit binaries within the same application. This is true on both Windows and Unix.
On Windows it is also important to use the same major version of the Visual C++ compiler that a particular Tuxedo version is listed as being certified with.

    Ed

  • It only uses 32bit, and my computer needs 64bit.   Please help.

I am a non profit.  I ordered Photo shop Elements12 for PC  for my office.  It is a download only.  It doesn't dowload on my computer.  It only uses 32bit, and my computer needs 64bit.   Please help. The Adobe photoshop elements 12 is useless to me.  I can't seem to get anyone at Techsoup to help and trying to get Adobe to help is runaround.  What should I do to get it to run on my computer.  Please someone in the forum let me know how switch out the download for the correct one.

64-bit windows can run 32-bit applications just fine and always has.  They are just limited to a small amount of memory.   If something isn’t working it’s likely another problem like an incomplete download or trying to install the Mac version on a PC or something like that.
You can try downloading and installing from the PSE12 link, here, to see if it works any better:
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/other-downloads.html
If you can’t get things to work, then please post a screenshot of the error and a description of what you’re trying to do that lead to the error.
Also the term “downloading” refers to transferring a file from a remote server, across the internet, to your local computer.   The term “install” means running the program that was downloaded on your local computer to put the working program on your computer that you can run.
It would be helpful to know if your saying that the actual transfer across the internet part isn’t working, or if that part seemed to work, but when you run that installer program you’re seeing an error.

  • How to identify the installed Weblogic Server and JDK are 32bit or 64bit?

    Hi everyone,
    I have a question ~
Both Weblogic Server and JAVA JDK are installed on the server already, but I only know the Weblogic Server is 10.3.4.0 and JAVA JDK version is 1.6.0_25.
I know the 64bit Weblogic Server installation file is a wlsXXXX_generic.jar package and 64bit JAVA JDK needed also.
But, since the Weblogic installed already, there are no such installation files on the Linux Server now.
I have tried the "java -version" for java version and check the Weblogic version from Weblogic console.
How to identify the installed Weblogic Server and JDK are 32bit or 64bit with Linux command? Or is there any way to check it?

What you can try to do is use WLST (or an MBean browser, such as JConsole or JRockit Mission Control) and connect to the adminserver.
    For example when using WLST:
    # set the environment by using setWLSEnv.sh (located in the ${WL_HOME}/server/bin directory).
    # start WLST by using: java weblogic.WLST
    # connect to the adminserver
    connect('adminusername','adminpassword');
    # change to the serverruntime environment
    serverRuntime();
    # show the attributes
    ls();
    # Here an attribute is shown called WebLogicVersion that shows the version of WebLogic
    -r--   WeblogicVersion                              WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0  Fri Apr 1 20:20:06 PDT 2011 1398638
    # Note that this does not show if is 32 bits or 64 bits to retrieve this information you have obtain the JVM version
    # change the directory
    cd('JVMRuntime/AdminServer');
    # show the attributes
    ls();
    -r--   Version                                      R28.0.1-21-133393-1.6.0_20-20100512-2126-linux-x86_64
    # when you have something like x86 at the you are running a 32 bit version, if you have something like x86_64 you are running a 64 bits versionAs mentioned above you can also retrieve this information by using a MBean browser.

  • Installing PS CS5.1 32bit and 64bit

I accepted the defaults while installing photoshop and it seems 2 versions installed?  Do I need both the 32bit and 64bit versions on Windows 7 64bit ?  Also, when I look at installed programs it only indicates Photoshop CS5 without any 32bit or 64bit designation.  What is necessary here.  Are there bugs with the 64bit version like MS Office so the 32 bit version installs also?
    thanks
    Milton

Both 32 and 64 bit variants are provided in case you have plug-ins or drivers that only work with one.  For example, older plug-ins are generally 32 bit only, and there are no 64 bit TWAIN drivers.
64 bit Photoshop will allow you access to your entire memory space, in excess of 2 GB, while 32 bit Photoshop will be limited.
Advice:  Keep 'em both, use 64 bit primarily, and use the 32 bit version if/when you have to.

  • Install Photoshop 32bit AND 64bit

    hi,
is it possible to install Photoshop 32bit and 64bit on one system?
im currently running 64 bit, but it doesnt recognize my 32bit filters...
if not, is there much difference in performance between the 64 and 32bit version? [btw: i am running Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium SP2]

    oh....
    lol
    sorry XD
i see now, i have both

copy and paste from 32 to 64 machines

    IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
    machine oracle utilities are:
    Export: Release 10.2.0.1.0
    Import: Release 10.2.0.1.0
    help please.

Are you using original exp/imp or data pump?
exp/imp should be able to handle 32bit to 64bit transport.
It's either your dump file got corrupted during transfer.
Or your database server is not same version as your utilities. Please verify and post your Oracle server version.

  • Is there a separate QT download for 32bit AND 64bit?

In the past I run QT Player always on a 32bit WinXP.
Now I migrate (had to migrate) to 64bit Win7.
If possible I want to use 64bit prgms.
Is there a 64bit version of QuickTime player?
If yes: Where exactly can I download it?
    On page
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
    there is only one
    Peter

There's just a 32-bit version of QuickTime, Peter, but it's compatible with 64-bit Vista and Windows 7. (Your Windows-on-Windows 64 handles it, so the program files will appear in your \Program Files (x86)\ and \SysWOW64\ rather than your \Program Files\ and \System32\ .)

  • 32bit and 64bit Catalog?

I just built a new computer to do my photo processing and this new computer has Vista Premium 64bit. I've installed the 64bit version of Lightroom but find that I cannot open my main Lightroom DB with 35k photos! It works perfectly on my old system but not on my new one. Any ideas on what I need to do to access it on my new system?

Ok, after lots of playing around I found that Vista applied some different security to my external hard drive where the database was located. I could run it fine from an XP machine but not from the Vista machine. Once I figured out that it was a security issue I simply changed the security settings in vista for that drive and it worked. Thanks for your input Dorin it helped me solve the problem.
