IE11 Issues

Following the recent upgrade to IE11, I am now experiencing three distinct issues, which may be related to a greater or lesser extent: (1) complete inability to download files; (2) some web content does not display, or displays but is non-functional; (3)
embedded images in Outlook email messages are not downloaded. More details below:
(1) When I try to download a file, the dialog at the bottom of the page ("open/save/cancel") appears, but none of the buttons appear to work. When I try a right-click and "save target as", the dialog at the bottom of the page displays
"xxxx could not be downloaded." [paranoia: did Microsoft do this to keep me from downloading Firefox?]
(2) This is most commonly videos which do not play, but also manifests when I open a new tab - the recent web pages display shows ten blank boxes, with no associated links.
(3) All of my emails in Outlook - even from trusted sources - no longer display images. Instead, the empty box with a red X in the upper left corner is displayed. I cannot find any command or configuration in Outlook (2007) to force these images to load.
This is distinct from emails where Outlook blocks the images: when that happens, a message appears at the top of the email explaining that the images have been blocked, and allows the user to load the images.
I have tried resetting IE11 with no success. I have reviewed and disabled most add-ons, with the exception of my virus filter (which has not been recently updated).
Any thoughts?

Hi,
Based on the current situation, I would like to suggest you try the following steps to check the issue:
1. Install the latest updates
Run Windows Update to correct problems by replacing out-of-date files, updating drivers, and fixing vulnerabilities.
2. Ensure all the add-ons are up to date.
3. Disable hardware accelerate to check the issue.
4. Disable the security software temporarily and see if it works.
You may also check the event log to see the detailed information and the clue of the root cause.
What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer
If the issue still persists, a quick solution is to run System Restore and get back to the previous status when the issue didn’t occur.
What is System Restore?
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-System-Restore
Or try to reinstall the IE11 for test.
Install or uninstall Internet Explorer
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/install-ie#ie=ie-11-win
Hope it helps.

  • IE11 issue on windows 10, not reproducible on other windows versions.

    hi ,
we try to change the proxy setting to have a pac file , but the change does not take affect .
    the scenario is :
    1. IE reads the AutoConfigUrl setting, which is OK
    2. IE even does not attempts to load the jsporxy.dll - a component responsible for pac file handling
    3. In fact, IE even doesn't read the appropriate part of registry (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AutoProxyTypes)
It looks rather a bug in IE (or in windows installation) than something related to our product.
    please advise.
    thanks

  • IE11 fails on javascripts after MVC5 Azure Deployment

Hi.. I´m having a hard time craking this one.
    I have an MVC5 application :
Updated all scripts / dll references with the latest nuget packages
The application is connected to an azure sql database free version (also when I develop locally)
I have all my scripts bundled in on package except modernizr loaded in the head tag
Locally the application is running fine on IE11 in both debug & release mode
After deployment IE11 fails to run some of the scripts (I tried on different computers - not a caching problem)
Last, but not least, the application runs fine on Chrome after deployment, marking it as an IE11 issue.
    Here is the javascript bundle:
    bundles.Add(new ScriptBundle("~/bundles/all").Include(
    "~/Scripts/jquery-2.1.0.min.js",
    "~/Scripts/jquery.validate.min.js",
    "~/Scripts/jquery.validate.unobtrusive.min.js",
    "~/Scripts/jquery.simplecolorpicker.js",
    "~/Scripts/bootstrap.min.js",
    "~/Scripts/three.js",
    "~/Scripts/myOrbitcontrols.js",
    "~/Scripts/MyKonfigurator.js"
    Help would be really appreciated.

    Hi,
Does your issue has been fixed yet? As far as I know, There is no error in the codes that you provided (For more information on Bundling, visit
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=254726), I suggest you do the following test.
    1) make sure this issue related to azure or not, test your application works fine in IE11 before deploy to azure?
    2) Please do some test to make sure whether this issue related to bundle (consider reference the Javascript directory in the header instead of using bundle).
Hope this helps, If not, please follow up and give detail error message or further information here.

  • How to set up a guest LAN? (small business, simple environment)

First before getting into my actual post, please allow me to briefly express my sincere aggravation at this Cisco website for it's lack of proper IE 11 support.  When I try to create a forum post, well, there is no way to do it.  The old Create a Discussion link is gone (actually when I log into my profile, the entire Actions pane is gone).  The Ask a Question thing you first see is terrible, it doesn't support IE 11 apparently because the message body field is just gone.  I can put a Title, and tags, but there is no field.  there's also no compatibility mode button anywhere in the IE 11 interface one this site.  I was lucky in that the Actions pane shows up when you click on another person's post.  I don't think Cisco realizes how absolutely annoying that kind of thing is.
I have a single 192.168.0.0/24 LAN with a single Cisco SG300 series switch to aggregate all the network connections, a single gateway firewall/router to the Internet, and a few wireless access points on the same LAN.  These are the AP541N's.  My goal is to set up guest Wi-Fi, but have it that guests cannot see or access the internal network.
Haven't not actually done this before, I have no idea where to proceed.  I know I can create guest virtual AP's in the AP541N but that doesn't do anything to prevent a guest device from having full access to all of 192.168.0.0/24 computers.
What can I do?  Do I have to put in completely new hardware?  Should I be contacting the Cisco Small Business tech support group if the specifics are unique to the SG300 and AP541N models?
Any help is appreciated, both general advice but ideally a full solution reply can be possible :)

  • Start page content is not loading in IE 11 or Chrome - RH11

We upgraded to RH11 specifically to fix the known IE11 issue that we had while we were running RH9.  When I installed the software, I applied all available patches, now at 11.0.2.240.  But when I try to generate a WebHelp project, in the output the TOC loads, search bar loads, but the main content of the start page does not load.  Very similar to the old IE11 issue.  Happens both on files local to this virtual machine and when they are loaded to the intenet.  My operating system in Windows 7 (also up to date).
    Anyone have any suggestions??

Does this only occur with IE11 or also with other browsers?
Does it occur with the sample projects? Click Open on the RoboHelp Starter page and then click Samples in the ribbon on the left.

  • Can't open a file, can only save or cancel

When I click on a link for a file, like an mp3, rdp, etc. the only options I get are save or cancel.  For example, if I try to connect to a windows azure virtual machine I have to download the RDP file - I can't just click open.  Is this an IE11
issue?  Is it a group policy setting?  Is this something I can fix/change?  Can I have my IT department change something?  This is really frustrating.  Any thoughts are appreciated.
    I am running Windows 8.1 and IE11

You may have a corrupted Download History list. You can fix this by simply clearing the list using the built in functionality listed below:
    Open Internet Explorer
Press Ctrl + Shift + Del on your keyboard
Uncheck all of the boxes that are displayed in this window
    Check the Download History box
    Click Delete
    Close the Internet Explorer window
Wait for the deletion process to finish
    Open Internet Explorer
    also
maby You may be disturbed by some add-ons or malware, you’d better run Internet Explorer with “no-add-ons” model first.
    1.       Open
    Start Menu, then click all programs, select Accessories, open the  system tools;
    2.       Right-click
Internet Explorer(No Add-ons), run as Administrator.
    If
the problem disappears, it could be caused by Internet Explorer add-ons, you could try following steps to narrow down.
    1.    In Internet Explorer, click Tools and click Manage add-ons.
     2.
Disable the Google add-ons and keep the needed items on.
     3.
After finding the related item, double click the item and select Remove.
     4.
Restart Internet Explorer and check the issue again.
    Also
you can reset your IE settings. Here is an official article can be referred to.
    How
    to reset Internet Explorer settings
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
    If
the issue persists, you could restore the Internet Explorer by turn off and turn on the Internet Explorer feature in the control panel ->Programs and Features.
    Note:
Before you restore internet explorer, please perform a system backup first and backup your favorites.
    Besides
of above suggestions, you’d better scan your computer and clear malware in time.
    Hope
    that helps.

  • IE 11 back button not responding

After opening a PDF document in Internet Explorer 11 I can't get out of it unless I repeatedly and rapidly click on the back button.  What could be wrong?

    Hello,
I know I'm replying to a 2 month old thread here.. but one of my colleagues raised this issue today and I came across this when using my research & development tool... Google.
The above answer makes sense to a point..  but if it was a redirect link, and therefore a "webpage issue", shouldn't the problem happen with any browser?
For example..  if you Google "motor efficiency testing", and click the 7th link (whitelegg.com), with IE11 you will not be able to click "back" to your Google results.  But if you do the exact same process in Firefox or Chrome, the back button works just fine.  In fact, I tested this in IE9, and the back button works fine there as well.  Definitely seems to be an IE11 issue.
I'm going to do some more digging on this..

  • Explain and show the SAP set up that will support these business requirements

You are selling a product that shows a clear growth trend in its forecasted sales but you need to procure a product from a plant that is part of your organization: this product is manufactured in lots of more than two weeks demand coverage at a time in the "make" plant it has to be transported (send to you) in containers no greater than 800 units and on smaller than 400 units. you also need to make sure that the making plant is able to identify one special container per shipment only, as a material requirement every time they make a production run for your product.
you also need to put together a production plan for the next year using you plant "Sales and Operations Planning (SOP)" management process to incorporate in your production plan a target of 7days of inventory coverage at the end of the end of each month.

  • How do I extend the trial period of Adobe RoboHelp software

    Hi,
I have installed the RoboHelp 11 version on 18th of September 2014 and it is going to expire on 17th of October 2014. I would like to explore the software more before we decide to buy the software. So, it would be great if you could suggest me a way to extend the trial software for another 30 days.
    Regards,
    Pallavi

I have had the same issue of needing some more trial time and got the same answer from an Adobe representative -- I would need to download a trial to a different machine. Difficult in my case as I have only 1 laptop at home and work remotely. The other suggestion I was given was to read their documentation about the RH11 features and use that to help make my decision -- but I can't build a case to upgrade from their documentation alone.
I am disappointed that I couldn't be given just another day or two of a trial as that is all I would need to generate a few outputs and see if results I saw during my April trial might have improved in the latest version of their trial for that software. For the April trial, I was not satisfied with how the Responsive HTML 5 output from the RH11 trial was behaving and also was not satisfied with a WebHelp output created from the trial (I had hoped it would address some IE11 issues in WebHelp that I produce in RH9, but the issues were still present in the RH11 Webhelp output). I need a physical example of output that addresses my company's needs and that performs well in order to build a case for upgrading.
If anyone learns of other options or of a policy change in the future to allow additional days for a trial, I would appreciate the info being shared here.

  • AppV 4.6 SP3 registry injection behavior changed from SP1

    Hello,
We are testing and preparing to rollout SP3 for AppV 4.6 and I came across this issue which is fairly major for us. It works 100% fine on 4.6 sp1.
We have several packages that point to c:\program files\Internet explorer\iexplore.exe (IE11) with a parameter of the URL. In addition we use the environment block to inject the proxy server settings into the registry which sets the correct proxy server.
I have tested that on SP1 this works without issue, as soon as I upgrade to SP3 with no other changes this fails to work anymore. I have tried both injecting at the environment block and in the script block as a reg add and a reg file. Nothing seems to change
the proxy. I also tried turning on and off local interaction.
In the script section I loaded the registry after adding the setting and can validate it does exist, which is even odder.
If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. Below is the reg key
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
    "AutoConfigURL"="http://"my.proxy.com"
    Thanks
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Ok, I have some more information. With additional tested outlined above I have proved out that this is not solely an APPV issue rather an APPV+IE11 issue.
    Here were my results (All tests running Win7 64bit w/AppV 4.6 SP3 HF1):
    1. APPV w/IE8
--- I am able to update the proxy from within the OSD using any of the standard methods (script, environment, and calling a cmd that updated instead of iexplore.exe) and everything works as expected.
--- If I put a script in the OSD and call regedit then change the proxy setting it is reflected as expected.
    2. APPV w/IE11
--- I am able to update the registry from within the OSD using any of the standard methods however the update is NOT reflected when IE launches
--- If I run regedit on launch and change the proxy manually it also is NOT reflected when IE launches. I searched the entire registry and the bad proxy string does not exist anywhere. So where is IE getting this from?
    3. Local IE11
-- The thought was that there are more or different registry settings needed so I modified the single key and launched local IE and the new proxy was reflected. So confirmed I am looking at the correct key and it is the only key required.
    4. Set the Global HKLM setting Locally
-- This worked as expected however if I changed it on the local machine the local IE changed but the packaged IE stuck to the previous setting. I cleared everything and I even invalidated the cache and it still stuck. This is probably not a huge issue.
    5. Set the Global Proxy within the package
-- For some reason this was not sticking. I need to look into this option further.
    ==============
RESULT: Option 4 or 5 will probably be the solution. 4 can be set in a GPO, 5 in the package if I can get that working.
    ==============
Note: I did contact Microsoft and they verified there are issues with APPV 4.6 and IE11 and were not able to resolve my issue. Their recommendation was to repackage. As this is a valid method it would just be too time consuming based on the total number
of packages we have in this state. IE11 should honor the registry setting as IE8 does.
    ==============
In case anyone's interested on how to set the Internet Explorer proxy for all users in HKLM:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
    "ProxySettingsPerUser"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
    "AutoConfigURL"=http://my.proxy.com
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

  • Is there a known issue for using IE11 when using business catalyst cms

Is there a known issue for using IE11 when using business catalyst cms?  I have a client trying to update pages on her site using IE11 and the it says it updates successfully, but the new content is not saved.

I concur with Barry; I see no significant difference in using the Home button vs. the gestures. But the "fade" effect is part of iOS 7.1 and there's no way to disable it that I know of.

  • SharePoint 2013 issues in IE11

We have recently moved in VDI environment (Windows 8.1, Office 2013, IE11) and we are now experiencing some compatibility issues with SharePoint 2013 applications. Some of the issues observed are,
    1. Clicking on the ellipsis besides the document or document set does not open the list of options
    2. nothing happens when clicked on document set. The workaround for this is right clicking  on teh document set and opening in a new tab or window. But we would like to open the document set through the left click.
    3. When Files/Library option is clicked on, the ribbon disappears.
The IE version installed is IE 11.0.9600.17351.
I have read some forums and tried to use the recommended steps like using compatibility mode in IE11,  debugging, but it did not work.
Do you know if Microsoft have released a patch to address these issues?
Are there any workarounds or fixes for these issues?

    Two things to check...
Are you running the 32 bit version of IE 11 (generally do not use the 64 bit version)
Which patch / service pack level is your SharePoint Server at? (SP 1 of SharePoint 2013 (not IE) fixed a number of the IE 11 issues.)

  • IE11 and Crystal Reports Viewer issue

We have a Delphi application which launches Crystal Reports through a Java Web Module.  The Delphi application gives users the option to view a single report or multiple reports (Crystal Reports).  In previous versions of IE, everything worked fine.   However, when we launch multiple reports in IE11, the first report loads properly but the other reports do not open the report in the new window.  It opens our home page.  So, first pop-up window shows the report1 without issues.  Other pop-up windows for report2 – reportN, shows our home page instead of the requested report.   Is there a fix for this issue?
