IE11 Keep Redirecting to Oracle Java Download Site

I am running a page that launches a Java Webstart app and a Java Applet. I don't have problem launching this page in Firefox, but I have to run it in IE11. The thing is IE11 keep redirecting me to oracle java download site. I have install Java RE like 3 times from IE already. What am I missing?

Have you set the version of Java that you want used?

  • Oracle 8 Download Problem

The URL to download Oracle 8 for NT/w2k redirects to Oracle 9 download.
Previous responses are incorrect, in so much that after accepting what appears to be the Oracle 8 license agreement you end up on the Oracle 9 page.

    Michael,
These files all check out fine but you should probably use a download manager to make sure you are not getting incomplete zip's - we recommend some in the FAQ: http://otn.oracle.com/contact/htdocs/faqs#software

  • So I can update my Oracle Java Applet Plug-in to Development Kit 7, Update 65, can you link me to the correct Oracle download page from your Plugin Update page?

When I periodically accessed your Plugin Check and Updates web page in the past, I really appreciated you connecting me to the correct Plugin Updates vendor web page when I clicked on your red Update Now button. This time, however, your Java Applet Plug-in "Update Now" button linked me to the Oracle Java "7u65 Updates Release Notes" instead of the usual download page. It seems rather unexpected for me, or any other conscientious user for that matter, to search the appropriate "JDK 7U65" file download from the Oracle website.
    Thank you,

This is getting way too complicated for normal peop.
First: the "Update Plugin" does not work, it goes to a page with all sort of computer jargon but no "Update button" anywhere.
Second: this forum jscher2000 gives a good solution, but I downloaded the incorrect java update, because my computer is 64 bit. how am I supposed to know my browser is what it refers to and that FF is 32 bit.....???$%^&*()??
Third: some of those "critical update" software are not even on my computer....well at least I don't think it is, I search for "shockwave" and did not find it.
I love Moz FF but the updating is starting to get out of control. why give us (computer idiot) an auto recommendation update not tailored to our computer? Perhaps in big letters at the top there should be an explanation "this is general suggestion these plugin needs updating, not to tailored with your computer, do your own research"
and/or add info I need to know like the 32 bit thing, took me forever to download the 64bit update for JAVA and it was the wrong one.
Now I am just afraid to update anything for FF because it is too darn confusing.

    Hi..
Assuming you are using Safari ...
    Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • I tried Oracle Java Bean for getting client IP but keep getting 127.0.0.1

We implemented Oracle Java Bean demo that reads client
information as we need to know the IP address of the client.
Everything works fine except that we keep getting the loopback
address (127.0.0.1) instead of the client IP address.
    Any advice?

I figured out what was happening and thought I should post the resolution in case it helps someone else.
I have both the original ToyStore app and my new app running against the same schema. Fine so far, since they don't use the same table names and this is just for early development.
The problem comes because they also use the same schema for maintaining the "Stateful" release mode. So they were both accessing the PS_TXN table to maintain state. For some reason, this worked for a while, but started failing yesterday. Clearing out the PS_TXN table when switching apps solved the problem.
Clearly the admonition to use a separate schema for the internal connection used by the state management logic is a wise one! :-)

  • How can I download a US iPad User's Manual when my apple ID keeps sending me to the French site?

How can I download a US iPad User's Manual when my apple ID keeps sending me to the French site?  I live in France but am American and prefer to work in English.  My Apple ID is tied to my French address and Apple blocks me from downloading from the US site.  What do I need to do to get US apps and manuals if I don't have a US address for a credit card?

Perhaps the simplest thing you could do is ask a US based friend to download the User Guide, have them email it to you in PDF.  Save the PDF to your iTunes account, then sync it to your iPad.

  • Can't access JAVA plug-in download site

I need a JAVA plug-in installed to complete a shipping transaction on eBay that I have already been charged for.
EBay window will not let me automatically install the plug-in so I click on the manual install choice & navigate to the JAVA Free Java download buttom page.

Clicking the button gets a "The connection was reset..." & I cannot install the plug-in.

Try to download the full offline 32 bit Java installer.

  • I had to uninstall Firefox and now when I try to reinstall I keep getting a file is corrupt message, tried different download sites, still happening. Where can I get a good copy?

I was haven't problems so I uninstalled Firefox, then wanted to reinstall. Went to your download site, went through the process, when it finished, it gave me a corrupt file message. I then went to the English (US) link, same thing. Then the English (British), again same thing. Wondering where I can get a non corrupt copy.

    Only download Firefox from Mozilla:
    *http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
If you are having a problem getting a "good" download
*Do not use a download manager when downloading; the download provided with IE is OK
*Your system security settings might be set too high or your AV/AS application might be interfering. See:

I have installed jdk from AUR. I have my 32bit chroot environment set up exactly at described on the wiki.
This error only happens when I set LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/java/jre/lib/i386 before launching Firefox. But without this, the libraries aren't found. For example, in the Java console I see errors like:
libjawt.so. No such file or directory
I've spent ages searching but I can't find a solution.

Download the tar.gz installer and untar it to a location like /opt.
Once you untar the archive, add the bin directory to your PATH variable and your should be all set to use it from the terminal.
OR use sudo update-alternatives to set the java command to pick up your installed version.

  • Safari on MacMini keeps redirecting to unwanted webpage

Hi all, new to this but I have a bit of a problem. Just a little bit ago I attempted to access a website and was redirected to another (myspace.com). No matter what, Safari will not let me on the desired website and keeps redirecting me to myspace.com login page. I've tried searching to see if others have had the same problem and did download a trial of MacScan and that's running now. From what I'm reading it could be a trojan causing the problem. Any other recommendations on how to fix this and how to keep it from happening in the future?

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
There is a trojan that redirects a web browser to another site. See this article: http://www.macworld.com/article/60823/2007/10/trojanhorse.html . You might consider an antivirus program like http://www.clamxav.com , to monitor email and downloads, or that article talks about some other choices. Note that for a trojan you have to launch it, a trojan can't sneak in unless you take an action to enable it.

  • Kan download site niet openen , zoek een app in de app store, welke app moet ik dan hebben?

Anybody? I have the exact same problem when I visit my gf in Asia. My ipad keeps redirecting me and it won't go to the Dutch app store. I almost changed every possible setting already, including the reboots, renewing paying information/store, relog, and clicking ok for a redirect when its tells me I can only buy in the Dutch store.
The weird thing is when I login on the devices of my gf and her family it goes to Dutch store without a problem! My iPad keeps stuck in the Philippine store though :/. Sometimes I get the idea it's trying to connect to the right store, but after a while I get a connection error. Help!
    Thx in advance!
