IE11 Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium - frequent waits

IE11 with current Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium 64bit - Yesterday I allowed Windows Update to upgrade IE10 to IE11.  Since that upgrade, when I'm using IE11, my fast desktop PC has MANY frequent little "waits", where the little spinning
circle appears on the screen.  I think the spinning circle replaced the old hourglass.  Anyway, when the circle is on the screen, things are frozen.  Even as I type this posting, the keyboard has frozen for a second or two every few seconds.
This NEVER happened with previous versions of IE and it never happens now with Firefox or Chrome.   Reboot does not fix the problem.   Only freezes when IE11 is open.  Freezes/waits also are happening without the circle appearing. What
to do?

Hi,
You may try to reset Internet Explorer settings to check the result.
Reset internet explorer settings and check if it helps.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
Please understand that reset Internet Explorer to its default configuration. This step will also disable any add-ons, plug-ins, or toolbars that are installed.
If it does not work, based on my experience, this is usually caused by 3rd party add-ons. Please launch IE 11 in No add-ons mode for a test. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System
Tools -> Internet Explorer (with no add-ons).
If the issue does not occur, refer to the following link.
Slow five tips to boost performance
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/internet-explorer/slow-five-tips-to-boost-performance
If starting Internet Explorer with no add-ons resolves the problem, isolate the browser add-on that is causing the issue. To do this, follow these steps :
1. Click Start , and then click Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage add-ons.
3. Click an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable.
4. Repeat step 3 until you identify the add-on that is causing the issue.
You may also back to use IE 10 as a workaround to check this issue.

  • Suyin Webcam "Not installed or in use by another" error on windows 7 64 Home Premium. I have tried all advice found, nothing works. Can you help me?

    Hello,
I have an integrated webcam that has not  been working for approx 6 months! I have updated the  Suyin driver/software from Gateway.com. It installs with no problems. I have the webcam icon on
my toolbar and I am able to open the help menu for the software and directions on how to use the camera. However I can't open the preview window and get an error message "camera not installed or in use by another." In device manager, it shows 1.3
M webcam under imaging devices with no errors and the driver being updated. The driver is not Suyin but  a Microsoft usb video driver
6.1.7601.17514 from 6/21/ 2006? I have done driver scans from multiple sites that show the webcam driver is up to date?
I have a NV53A Gateway laptop with an AMD 4200 Radeon HD Graphic Card which is updated from AMD.com with a 13.1 Cataylst Vision Engine Control Driver for my AMD VGA card. The webcam worked before with AMD updates such as 12.6.

I hope I provided enough info for you to help me? Everywhere I go I have done what I read, such as uninstall, reinstall, update driver, download from inf file, go to gateway.com,etc...
I don't know if AMD is controlling my webcam? When I click on flash it states no webcam found, the mic is found though. Skype and other sites also say no webcam found. I don't know why I can't install Suyin through device manager?
     The software installed is
    UVC 0.6.47.1:VIDEO Web Camera
I have multiple registry entries for suyin from the download such as regedit 5.0 Suyin which by default has this error message in many languages? There is also a USB registry that flashes when installed and
a echo@  registry entry too. These are located in the folder in Windows/ Programs/86 under Video Web Camera. What has taken over my webcamera?????
I don't know if I need a BIOS update to fix  this from gateway.com??? I haven't done that because I am unsure and don't want to make this worse. I do find at the gateway site the only update is the webcam
which is 1/21/11. The others are the same  from 6/24/2010, which I already have. I bought the computer in 12/2010 new. The webcam was working in 12/13 , for I had a 2 year warranty and no issues .  I think this is a simple fix but I am not an expert,
only good at following logical, proper instructions to fix an error.
I'd be grateful and shocked if anyone can help me. I have no viruses and have Norton 360 running all the time and done check-ups with Malware and Superspy.
I have another user on my computer which is myself but logged off. If I deleted the other user, would my webcam work or is it my registry, AMD??? I am sooooo frustrated !!!!!! I am confused why
device manger states no errors and driver sites find no webcam updates or errors, either. There is no Suyin driver in the driver store and the inf file won't install per device manager?
Thank-you for your time and if you are unable to assist me , please advice where to go. Please let me know if you need more information.
    Kindly,
     Victoria

I did some googling and found alot of topics from you on this issue, to me it simply seems like on of the connectors is broken or loose.

  • Quicktime 7 will not install fully on my windows 7 64 home premium keeps stoping with an error while trying to create directory

    I have a Laptop with Windows 7 64 Home premium, I have tried a few times to install Quicktime 7 on my laptop. But keeps stopping with an error saying "An error occured while attemping to create the directory: C:\windows\Installer\{F5266D28-E0B2-4130-BFC5-EE1-55AD514DC}
Windows is fully up todate, I have no virus or anything harmful on my computer. After clicking retry the error keeps popping up. I then click on cancel and delete the downloaded quicktime installer. I shut down my computer and try again. Same error with not luck. Any help?

Just in case, let's check for disk/file damage.
The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Hi,
It might be the graphic driver not compitable with the graphic device.  Has there been a change to the graphic driver?
One thing you can try is to uninstall graphic driver and download the latest from Windows Update (if you haven't tried this).  Here are the possible steps:
    1.  Go to Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Device Manager,  uninstall the graphic card driver by right clicking and select "uninstall".  Make sure the option "Delete the driver software for this device" is selected.
    2.  Reboot the system.
    3.  Go to Control Panel->System and Security->Windows Update, click on "Optional updates" and find the driver for g210 and do the update.
I work on behalf o HP.

  • TNS Service starting error- Windows 7.0 Home premium- 64bit machine

I bought a new DELL Inspiron machine, where windows 7.0 home premium was installed. It is now a 64 bit system.
I installed Oracle 10g database. It goes well until end, but throws TNS Service could not be started as an error message at the end. However, it mentions that the error could be resolved by starting the service manually. I tried to do that, but I get TNS: Permission Denied error.
I started installation process by login to adminstrator login. I tried starting the TNS service with admin login.
Is the error message I am getting because of 64 bit machine? Is permission denied because of Home premium?
Let me know and suggest your advices.
Please suggest if there are any turn around for this issue. I am trying to solve this from past 15 days.

My views is you didn't read my response.
    So here it is again
Oracle doesn't run on Windows Home. Period. Windows Home doesn't have accounts.
Oracle 10g doesn't run on Windows 7. Moreover it is desupported.
11gR2 is about to be certified on Windows 7, but not on Windows Home.

Has anybody else had a similar experience and managed to over come it?
If so, how can I circumvent any problems and carry out a successful upgrade?
    Thanks

I only get as far as the Starting Upgrade screen when I, after a few minutes waiting, I get the message telling me that the upgrade has been unsuccessful and told to retry - no useful error codes etc.

  • Corrupted User Accounts in Windows Vista 64 Home Premium?

    ***FYI I'm using my desktop.
    Toshiba Satellite L305-S5908
    Model #: PSLB8U-05202F
    Windows Vista 64
So just today, I had accidently dropped my laptop. I was logged into my user account, and it completely froze a few moments after. I had to reboot it, and when I did, I could not log in to my user account at all! I would be able to type in the password, but once I hit ENTER, it turned blank with only the Windows Vista 64 background displaying. I went on safe mode, and surprisingly, I was able to log onto the user account.
I have another user account (that I rarely use) that I could log on to safe mode as well. However on normal start-up, I was able to log in, but then it completely froze again. The second time I tried to log onto that user account, the computer completely froze when I was about to type in the password.
From what Toshiba support told me, the User accounts must have been corrupted from the drop, and they told me to Google "How to fix corrupted user accounts". However, from research I am supposed to create a new user account but I cannot make a new one because I cannot log into any of the user accounts at all. (They cannot help me any further because my warranty expired.)
So, I'm turning to you forum. How do I fix this?

I deleted the bad user accounts, and saved their files into the new user account.
The proper way to copy a profile is detailed here.
       Fix a corrupted user profile
I did Disk Check again, and it got past the previous stuck point, but it is now stuck on the 524373th free cluster. Should I make a new thread dealing with the new issue I have?
I forgot to mention that it may be necessary to run chkdsk /r many times.
No necessity for a new thread.
...seems like I have to pay for it?
Yes, SpinRite costs money. But it's a good product and the circumstances may warrant it. It might come in handy for another drive in the future as well.
In this case, you may prefer to purchase a new drive. It may turn out that you need a new drive in any case. Certainly, you should be prepared for that by having the recovery discs.

  • Lenovo b590 20208 windows 7 64bit home premium

Hello all! (Sorry for bad English but I need help!) I need drivers for the laptop in title, I search but I find many options and I don't know what is the right driver! Is any here can list drivers for download??

    hi stathisch9,
    You're correct on your mail,
Systems may came with diff hardware configuration , that's why the download site may have diff drivers for one category.
Here's how you can nail it down,
First You need to get the Hardware ID of the device that you needed drivers for,
Check you Device Manager for any "Bang" sign or Question mark symbol,
    ex.
Those are where you need drivers for, also some of the devices like Video card and soundcard may not have a symbol because Windows provided a default driver, but still you need to get the drivers for those.
Ok, how to get Hardware ID , follow this guide
    Ondevice manager window
         1. Right click on the device that you need to identify, then choose properties
         2. Once you have the properties Windows Click on the details tab.
         3. On the details tab Choose Hardware ID on the Property Drop down box
         4. and on the Value pane the first line is your Hardware ID,
         5. Get the VEN and the DEV Value, in this example VEN-8086 and DEV-1C3a
    ex. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_307C17AA&REV_04
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
You then go to PCI DATABASE and enter the DEV value (1C3A) into the device search.
With the results provided to you look for the matching vendor Value (8086). Then you'll know what device is that.
Now go to the download link of your PC and download the correct driver.
    Hope this helps

Many people are tempted to take shortcuts on these or do some steps their own way, especially with the steps listed in the Adobe tech notes.  If you do, you're less likely to solve your problem.
