IE7 & Flash Movie not displaying FF works fine

Hi,
I have an issue with IE7 and my Flash video movies. When I
use IE7 (7.0.5730.13) the 6 videos (flash movies) on the page do
not display all 6 BUT in FF they all display and my navigation menu
works fine. The video boxes/placeholders change when I refresh the
page in IE7, but again, not all 6 show like in FF and the menus
won't work properly.
Any help! Please use common/dummy talk so I can fix it. The

The movies are MASSIVE. I Think you are just not waiting long
enough. It
took >15 minutes for FF to show all of the video frames.

Flash movie not displayed correctly in IE 8 on some Windows OS

Has anyone seen this problem?
I'm using CS4 to export a basic flash movie with embed tags pre scripted...
And the issue is that on some OS systems using Vista or Windows 7 and IE 8 as a primary browser, it appears that IE 8 is not displaying the flash banner completely.... its CROPPING it off... This is very strange because the banner works fine in FireFox, IE7,Opera,Chrome but not I.E.8 on some OS systems...
If you google "Flash not displaying correctly in IE 8" you'll get alot of people with the same issues but no real definate fix...
Are there any suggestions as to what i could try?
Do i need different flash embed tags? Or is this a user issue?
Please Advise as soon as possible...

I'm sorry, i forgot to explain that I didn't upload the flash published html because it did and produced the exact same results.
The flash published still got cropped off on 1 vista os(I.E 8) running from a laptop and 1 windows 7(I.E. 8) latop os...
Its good to hear that you're able to see it clearly... however in my QA efforts, i've been asked to fix the issue or drop the flash banner all together.
I've tried every which way, i've even converted the embed tags (not uploaded by the way) to a js script and it STILL gets cropped of on 2 ie8 run OS systems...
And now i'm not sure what else to try on my end.
I'm currious if because this is an XML driven flash banner, this may be an issue? But it still doesn't explain why some people can see this in IE 8 as you can and others get a cropped banner like in my screen shot sample.
Again i invite everyone in the forum to take a look at the sample links, as i'd be curious to see who else is seeing this.
By the way "kglad" Thank you so much... please keep the suggestions coming... but everything you've suggested, i've tried.
This is very perplexing. Is this a setting issue? or is there some setting on the user side i'm not aware of? Either way, as usual... the flash developer is blamed so i must find a solution.

Flash movie not displayed after swfload

Hi All,
I have a simple web page that will display photos using a
third party flash movie/swf file. The problem is when the page is
displayed the third party swf file does not display. Im using the
swfloader tag. Any help much appreceiated!

Flash Text not displaying certain fonts

I am trying to use Flash text for some headings, but after an
hour of pulling my hair out I've just realised it will only display
certain fonts, such as Helvetica etc.
I added the font I want to use to my font list but it still
does not display…
I'm using MX on OSX 10.3.9.
Any ideas? Thansk.

Is your text in a dynamic text box, or static text box in
flash?
I don't think the issue concerns the "true-type" or not
"true-type" font.
In Flash, when text is part of a dynamic text box (which I
assume is the case in your situation),
then the font works just like in an html page:
if the font is installed on the computer it will show, if
not, it won't. The way around this, is to
embed the font data in the authoring flash file, and link it
to the dynamic text box, via actionScript.
So if you cannot work on the authoring Flash file with Flash
MX or Flash8, and if indeed we're
talking about a dynamic text box, your only option is to use
a web-safe font.

Macbook (white) - black display, but works fine on external display.

Hi everyone!
Today, when I woke up, my Macbook wouldn't wake up from sleep-mode. Or, it did, but the display didn't.
I tried all the tricks on here: http://www.neilturner.me.uk/2009/01/18/fixing_your_macbook_scree.html but nothing seemed to work.
The strange thing is that the Macbook works perfectly on my external display. Sometimes, when I turn down the brightness all the way down and up again, the display will work fine for 2-3 seconds, then turn black again.
If I use a flashlight I can see the desktop on my display, but it's really, really dark.
I bought this machine in late 2008 and everything has been working perfectly until this day. What should I do? I even upgraded to Lion, to see if that could help, but it didn't.
I just can't afford a new machine right now, so any help would be hot!

Ah. I'm not able to run the hardware test because it only works on the main screen. There's no obvious way to switch to an external monitor when AHT is running, which is ridiculous if the hardware fault concerns the screen! The problem isn't with the backlight - there is no dimmed image on the screen, it is just off.
I'll just have to use it with an external monitor, I guess - which defeats the purpose of buying an iMac!

Flash files not displaying in Firefox, Safari, and Opera. Most recent Shockwave installed, private browsing active in Firefox? Works perfectly in Chrome and Internet Explorer. HELP!!!!

I suppose it would have helped if you knew what it was supposed to look like! I'm using Shockwave Flash 11.7.700.169 and the version of Firefox I'm on is 20.0
When you see it in Firefox - do the thumbnail populate the grid? See attached populated and un-populated.
Populated grid is with Chrome.

Flash movie not showing in IE

On the home page of one of my sites, I have included a small
Flash movie which displays (almost0 perfectly in Firefox, but just
appears as a small white box in IE (it's over on the right side of
the page). Any ideas?
Also, the motion of the movie is a bit "jerky" and not as
smooth as expected. Is this a known problem?

The smoothness of a flash movie is dependent on the number of
frames per minute you have set. Generally, more frames per minute =
smoother movement.

Flash movie not visible

I would like to put a short clip of a movie on a website. The
movie is saved
in MPG format ... so I open
the Flash CS3 Video encoder software and line the movie up in
the queue, in
the settings I specify the
output file name and leave everything else on the default
settings. Then I
copy the flv to the website.
I open my site in DW, tell it to insert the Flash movie
(after I copied it
to the site),
and after closing the dialog it adds the skin file and a
flvplayer_progressive.swf to the root
menu and the, I guess appropriate, code to the page, I save
the page,
preview in IE ....
and, nothing. No movie, no error, no anything, just a empty
white space.
In Firefox it endlessly is trying to download something from
macromedia? But
also just white space.
I checked all the paths in the code, they are correct.
This is on the local server, the "scripts" folder is there.
I played with the different settings in the encoder software
and the insert
dialog, still nothing.
I also checked for the permissions, just in case.
I can see flash movies on other websites just fine!

Flash Page not displaying in IE7

I have a flash page located at
http://www.springmountainranchut.com.
By clicking on the menu at the left titled "The Mountain" and then
Clicking on the menu bottom center titled "Master Plan Map &
Movie", should display a map and movie when you click on the "Play
Movie" link. The .swf was created using MX Studio 2004 with
published settings of action script 2.0, flash player 7. IE7 using
flash player 9 will not display the page where IE6 using flash
player 7 displays just fine. I have uninstalled flash player 9
using the adobe uninstall file and reinstalled from the adobe
website.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Flash movie not working in FF V2.0.0.16

Hello all,
I am building a site that uses various flash elements and
also displays a flash movie. My issue is in IE the page and
everything loads fine. However in FF (I have v2.0.0.16) the flash
logo and movie thumbnails display but not one of the auto play
movie on the page. Instead the movie section is just blank. Yet
when I right click on where it would be it gives me the flash menu
settings (zoom in, quality, etc).
Also all other flash elements on the page load/display fine
and also the site works fine in IE??

MacBook not sending signal to external display - was working fine before.

hi guys, i have a unibody macbook and i've been hooking it up to my tv for almost 2 years now using the mini display port to hdmi adapter and hdmi to my television.
tonight the macbook randomly stopped sending signals to the tv. i tried two tvs with two different display adapters as well as a DVI monitor.
the displays are detected in osx but there is just no signal sending to it. anyone have any ideas? did my mini display port just die? i've tried several cables/adapters.

I just experienced a similar problem as the original poster, except that I'm using a minidisplayport - DVI adapter and not HDMI. Been working fine on my external screen for 2 months now and suddenly the external says no signal?
Macbook still flashes a blue screen when plugging in the adapter but does not detect the external. Haven't ruled out that the adapter is busted yet, but worked fine earlier.
I tried resetting the PRAM without any change.
Any kind of software / hardware problems on the macbook?
Any thoughts?

Flash Help not displaying in IE7

Hi all,
Another issue (I'm having a great afternoon!) - Running the
RH for Word 6 sample projects - when output to FlashHelp, the flash
menus do not display.
I have the latest version of Flash (9.0.smething) and IE7 and
regularly run Flash output I have created in other programmes
(Captivate and Premiere). I know RH well, having used it for over
ten years but I stopped upgrading at X3.
Any ideas?

Pages on my ipad does not allow me to move objects. It works fine on iphone 4

It helps if you describe what happens when you try to move an object in Pages...the sequence of events that you go through.....
Close Pages and reboot your iPad then try again. If that doesn't work, post back with more detailed information.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
