IE8 drag and drop in Outlook Web App OWA is not working

I'm having trouble identifying the cause behind an inability to drag and drop emails between folders in OWA (Exchange 2010).
The problem PC is running fully up to date 32 bit Windows XP SP3 with IE8. When I try to drag and drop an email all I see is a black stop symbol. On another PC with the same spec, logged in with the same user account, I can drag and drop emails fine between
folders in OWA.
I've tried clearing browser cache/history etc, resetting the browser to factory defaults, re-installing the browser, reducing security in the browser to absolute minimum, re-installing Java, Silverlight, S/MIME (although I'm sure it doesn't use these).
Can anyone suggest anything else, or provide helpful links? I've been looking at this for many hours without any progress. If I even just knew what component/tool/feature IE is using when it does/doesn't drag and drop I'd have somewhere to start...

I have this problem I heard there is a hotfix but I dint get the number, this affects any drag and drop options such as dropbox, sharepoint, etc..
When I get the number I will post it for you.
a work around is Chrome. but it has options for the html5 which is not present even in IE 10. :(.

I spent about three days on this and one IT guy and more than several Engineers at microsoft india, they are helpfull but not this time.
this works on server 2008r2 but not vista, I am guessing Windows 7.

Hi all,
I have a web application in which i have an option to delete the listed items. now i have to place an image of recycle bin on the webpage and to give the utility of delete operation by only dragging the object from list and droping it into recycle bin. How can i do this? Is there any body who have already done this? Any reply will be welcomed.

Drag and drop interactivity- do it for me button not working when published to HTML5

I've made a drag & drop interactivity, I am adding a button where the user can get the correct answers for that interactivity.
using advance actions / Standard action / and apply custom effect (right to left ease) in captivate 7.
The problem I'm experiencing is that the button works fine when reviewing as SWF but when I publish as HTML5, it is not running.

How to disable contacts search(Auto Complete) while composing Email from Outlook Web App(OWA) in Local Exchnage server?

In on premise Exchange server (Local Exchange) i want send the email using custom address like [FAX:name@/FN=333] from
Outlook Web App(OWA), while clicking on send button i got the error like "The message can't be sent because at least one recipient isn't valid." so i am unable to submit the email from OWA.
but i am able to send the email using custom address like [FAX:name@/FN=333] from Outlook Web App(OWA) of Office 365 exchange server.
what is difference b/w Local Exchange server OWA & Office 365 OWA?
is there any configuration changes needed for Local exchange server?

I created a custom address like Fax:Winnie@/FN=333 in my tab environment, it returned an error about “The address ‘Fax:Winnie@/FN=333’ is not a valid SMTP address”. Please update your Global Address List in Exchange server and if there is any error log,
please provide more information for further analysis.

Some users drag and drop to outlook turn to links instead of attachments.

Hi it seems that some of our users when they drag and drop a file from sharepoint it turns into a hyperlink rather than an attachment. This is a problem since if we send the file externally that person would not be able to access that document.
Any ideas as to why this could be happening?

Is this from a SharePoint Document Library -> Drag file to Outlook?
Is the SharePoint site in the "Intranet Zone" of IE? Or are they using different browsers? For example, this works fine for me in Internet Explorer 11 with Outlook 2013, but does not work with the latest version of Chrome and Outlook 2013.

Cannot drag and drop file from photos app to photoshop

Hi,
I'm trying to open a file saved in my Photos library in Photoshop. Previously in iPhoto I could drag and drop the file to open in other applications including Photoshop but this functionality appears to be missing in the new Photos app. Am i missing something? Or is there another way to do it?

I am trying to drag a single item from a JList to a text editor, Word, etc. I have two problems:
1) I can't seem to get just the item in the JList to drag. It wants to drag the entire JList component.
2) How does one define the remote application as the drop target? Have not found any examples either.
Is the drop target actually the system clipboard?

Drag and drop file onto java app

Hi,
I would like to drag and drop a file from windows explorer onto a panel in my java app.
All I need is that when the file is 'dropped', I can get a reference to the path of file.
e.g.
There is a file, C:\myFile.txt
There is a String in my program called 'filePath'.
I start my java app and dnd the file onto it.
I want the path of the file to be assigned to the filePath String.
I can then do more proccessing on the file which I already know how to do.
Can anyone help.

Can you drag and drop an email into a folder or will it cause issues and possible corrupt the emails?

I can't remember where I found this, but if you repeatedly press Esc. Hey Presto - Drag 'n' Drop starts again. This works both in Outlook and outside in windows explorer.

Prevent drag and drop for QT web movies

I've tried protecting QT movies on my web site using kioskmode, like this:

but despite what Apple says, drag and drop remains enabled. Anyone know how to fix that?

If your goal is to "protect" your videos the kioskmode="true" tag will be the weakest link.

You can open and save the file using the Safari (or any other browser) by using the Safari Activity window.
You can also download by dragging the link to the Download window.
I use the Save As Un-Editalbe droplet on some of my files. Needs some work to run on a Tiger OS and you can email me for a copy that is Tiger "ready". Screen name (left) @ mac.com.
But I still don't understand how drag and drop works if the file is "protected" via kioskmode="false" tags.

Drag and Drop file FROM Java app TO native desktop

I'm a litte new to Drag and Drop. After a few days of looking around I've been through enough examples to copy and paste some skeleton code and get it working in my own application.
What I haven't gotten any answers to (after searching on google, newsgroups, and here) is if it's possible to drag something from a Java app to the desktop or file browser, and have java create a file there.
I know you can drag text to native apps, so I was wondering if you could make a Transferable object that's different than StringSelection(), like a file stream or something.

Drag and Drop export of vcards to Mail no longer works in Snow Leopard

In 10.5, you could drag a vcard from the Address Book application, drop it on the Mail icon on the dock, and the vcard would be automatically attached to a new mail message. This no longer works in 10.6. Tested on a G4 iMac running Leopard and a Mac Pro on Snow Leopard. Kind of a bummer, as I used to send new contacts to business partners all the time this way.

There have been other reports of drag and drop to the icon not working like it did/should.
I imagine rewriting it for Docksposé caused a lot of code changes. Hopefully, they will fix the things that have fallen through the cracks.
I forgot to mention the only workaround I can find is to create the new message first, and then use Docksposé to drop the vCards onto the new message.

Can't Drag and Drop songs onto Shuffle. Autofill Doesn't work either

I know that many people have been having this same problem.
The Shuffle is recognized by the computer AND even iTunes. It shows up in the playlist, but when you try to Autofill or even Drag and Drop the songs individual, the songs, for lack of a better term, don't stick.
It was working perfectly when my daughter first got it for Christmas, and now, this happens. We have already had to return one shuffle.
Does this one have the same fate???

Same problem here too. Was workiong fine about a month ago. When looking at songs in my Shuffle Library the new ones I have manually dragged accross appear with a 'dot' beside the track number - it is these songs which are not being transferred to the shuffle. I can't even get the message at the top of iTunes to say "Ipod Shuffle is Connected & Updating - Do Not disconnect." I have updated iTunes to latest version and completed all Shuffle updates. What's the go? Is the only solution to have the shuffle replaced? Seems very strange it used to work and now it doesn't - nothing had changed in the intervening period. Appears I'm not the only one with this issue. Does anyone have an answer?

Drag and drop problem on Lion... doesn't work

Hi,
I have had a drag and drop problem since I installed Lion on my computer. I grab a file and by the time i try to drop it on a folder it is not released. This happens in all programs and it is really annoying, finder, iphoto, mail, you name it.
I've tried repairing disk permissions directly from lion and then from the repair disk partition and it has been no good.
Any ideas???
I have a MBP 15 in, 2.8 ghz intel core 2 duo. 4 gb ram.
And hey, since i installed lion computer is soooooooooooo slow, any tips will be highly appreciated.

drag and drop doesnt work at all, no matter what i try to do it doesnt work.
on desktop i grab a file and then try to drop it on a folder and doesnt drop.
on mail i grab an e-mail and try to place it on a folder and it doesnt drop.
i movie i select some photos, try to drag them to the project area and they dont drop i have to copy/paste in order to transfer them.
itunes i grab a file from my music library and try to drop it to a playlist and it doesnt drop
it is really really annoying.
any ideas????

Exchange Office Web Apps Preview Does not work in OWA (web)

I have setup Exchange 2013, Lync 2013, SharePoint 2013, IIS as a Reverse Proxy Server, an Office Web Apps Server, etc, etc. Everything is setup to use SSl (https) and everything works great EXCEPT... Office Web Apps... and ONLY via Exchange and OWA (exchange
browser-based access).
I can login via the intranet or Internet for everything (SharePoint, Outlook, and Lync) and Office Web apps functionality works flawlessly for all... except for Exchange and OWA.
If I login in to a web-based Exchange seeion, everything works right and I can see the various attachments.
For all other scenarios, Office Web Apps works (SharePoint, Outlook, Lync, etc), but in owa (web version of Outlook) I see that Office Web Apps is triggered (I see the Office Web Apps text and the dots that indicate something is loading)... However, it just
crashes and eventually times out (see image):
If I look in the error logs for the Web Apps Server I see this:
Essentially, it looks like that owa uses a distinctly different path to load the attachments into the Web Apps Server such that the file is not found!
What is happening? Why does Exchange OWA (web version of Outlook) somehow use a different path that fails to locate attachments in Office Web Apps, but Lync, Outlook, and SharePoint (both in Intranet and Internet) work perfectly?
This is VERY frustrating. Can anyone help?

Clearly, the reverse proxy is working, the certificates are working, OAuth is working, etc. It seems there must be some variable/path that is only defined in Exchange for OWA that uses a different path for Office Web App attachments and that path is WRONG!

Exchange Office Web Apps Preview Does not work in OWA. An error occurred while the document preview was being created

Hi,
I have managed to configure intergration between Office Web App server 2013 and Exchange 2013 OWA.
I have created a test users Test1 and Test 2. I have given full access on Test2 mailbox to user test 1.
When I login to owa for user test1 and preview the attachment it works fine.
However when I use "Open another mailbox" in OWA and open test2 mailbox and try to preview the attachments in test2 inbox it errors as
" An error occurred while the document preview was being created. Please try again later " as follows
I am new to office web apps server 2013 and implemented it first time. Can anyone suggest resolutions or troubleshooting ?

To narrow down the cause, I’d like to recommend the following troubleshooting:
1. Does the error appear when you directly access test 2 mailbox through OWA?
2. Check if there is 141 error in your event log.
3. Check whether Office web app server connects with Exchange server when the issue happens.
Access the URL: https://hostname/hosting/discovery
4. Grant full access permission again and check the result.
