IE8 on PeopleSoft 9.0 / PeopleTools 8.49/8.50

I would like to know if there is white paper/document on the support of IE8 on PeopleSoft 9.0 ?

Please, refer to the note *Does PeopleSoft Support Internet Explorer 8? [ID 797632.1]*+

  • Are there any problems accessing PeopleSoft 9.2/PeopleTools 8.54 ESS Pages from an external non-PeopleSoft Portal?

We are hearing indications that external non-PeopleSoft portals now have trouble linking to native PeopleSoft ESS pages for user data entry.  Trouble perhaps related to change to fluid user interface.  Any truth to that rumor?  If so, where can I find material on fixes or work-arounds?

  • OEM10gR3 PeopleSoft Management agent support for PeopleTools 8.49?

We migrated our PeopleSoft environment from PeopleTools 8.48 to PeopleSoft 8.49. We've successfuly installed OEM10gR3 on a Windows 2003 box and successfully installed the management agent on a RHEL 4.4 box running PeopleTools 8.49 and then installed the PeopleSoft Management Agent for OEM without error.
When we try to "discover" the PeopleTools installation via the OEM console it comes back and says it has found a PeopleSoft installation, however, it will not add it to the console because it states the PeopleTools / PeopleSoft 8.49 is not supported. It looks like the the OEM PeopleSoft Management agent is supports PeopleTools up to v8.48.
Is anybody aware of workaround / patch / solution to this issue?

Almost the same problem here. Our PT is at 8.48, running on AIX. OEM10gR3 agent installed. When we try to run the discovery we get no PS_HOMEs found. We opened a support case with Oracle but have not gotten an answer yet.

  • Installing PeopleSoft EPM 9

    Hi Good People,
My Environment: Oracle 10g R2, Win XP, EPM 9, PeopleTools 8.49, WebLogic 9.2, Tuxedo 9I have successfully installed and configured HRMS 9 with the help of Nicholas Gasparotto's documentation on his blog ... just wondering if there is any change as to what script to run when doing the database upgrade to the Tools Im using.
Please share some ideas if you've crossed this bridge.
    Thanks alot.
    Regards,
    Texas!

    Hi Nic,
    Thanks alot for coming.
I put the following for you to understand the upgrade Im talking about ... this is from the 2nd part of PeopleSoft Database Creation from your blog (HRMS9)
Meanwhile, Im doing a fresh install of EPM ... just wanna know if it follows the same procedure as to the upgrade of HRMS 9
After loading the Peoplesoft Application (including PeopleTools objects) in the database creation part I, we should upgrade the database to the latest release we curretly use. This step is not required if your application has been built (I mean the Appliatin database version) on the same PeopleTools which you use.
Since we currently install HRMS9.0 on PT8.49, and like for all the version 9.0 it has been built on PT8.48, we should upgrade the Applicatin database version. It consists on several scripts (sql, dms) and application of projects. Some of the following steps below are also for multilingual application, don't apply these step if your only in english. Thanks again.
    Texas!

  • Integrating SOA and Peoplesoft: Configuring JMSTARGET Connector in IB.

    Hi All,
I have created JMS queue/topic in oracle application server. Can anybody idea how can we configure JMS connector of peoplesoft integration broker.
Let me first explain my requirement, I am working in peoplesoft outbound interface design with SOA integration.
So my approach will be creating JMS queue in oracle application Server and then configuring this JMS to any node of peoplesoft IB.
Then extracted information from peoplesoft need to send to the above node so that once the node receive the message it should
populate the JMS queue inturn SOA BPEL will be triggered to write into third party file/database.
Please give your inputs on this approach if you any other suggetion for peoples soft outbound integration with SOA.
    Thanks inadvance.

<<Document:664816.1>> E-IB: Configuring Integration Broker with IBM MQ on AIX
SPECIFIC TO: Enterprise, PeopleTools, Integration Broker Release 8.49
    ISSUE:
How to setup Integration Broker to PUT messages to an IBM MQ Server on a remote machine?
    SOLUTION:
<See attachment for documentation with screenshot examples.>
Configuring Integration Broker with IBM MQ on AIX
The following guide is intended to outline the setup between Peoplesoft Integration Broker and IBMs Websphere MQ version 6 client on AIX. Note: This is not a certification, but a working example, specifically using the MQ client to connect to a remote machine running the MQ server.
    Platform Information:
    PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.49
    IBM Websphere MQ Release 6
    AIX
    Steps
    1) Install and IBM Websphere MQ (WMQ) client
    2) Configure WMQ connection
    3) Configure Peoplesoft
    4) TEST using PING and a Peoplesoft message to PUT data onto the WMQ server
    Steps
    1) Install and configure Websphere MQ client on AIX where Peoplesoft is located
NOTE: This is one optional architecture. It is also possible to install Peoplesoft and MQ on the same server, which avoids the client software altogether.
    a. IBM deliveres an MQ client that is installed on the same box as the Peoplesoft with the following options.
    i. Installed to /usr/mqm, all objects owned by local user mqm
ii. Ensure that the MQ Extended Transactional Client is installed
    1. This includes com.ibm.mqetclient.jar file
    iii. Mq specific environment variables
    1. $MQ_JAVA_DATA_PATH=/usr/mqm
    2. $MQ_JAVA_INSTALL_PATH=/usr/mqm/java
    3. $MQ_JAVA_LIB_PATH=/usr/mqm/java/lib
    4. jms.jar, fscontext.jar, jndi.jar, providerutil.jar, stcjms.jar
    iv. CLASSPATH
    1. Includes the following MQ jar files
    i. com.ibm.mqetclient.jar
    ii. providerutil.jar
    iii. com.ibm.mqjms.jar
    iv. ldap.jar
    v. jta.jar
    vi. jndi.jar
    vii. jms.jar
    viii. connector.jar
    ix. com.ibm.mq.jar
    2. Example
    a. > echo $CLASSPATH
    i. echo $CLASSPATH /usr/mqm/java/lib/com.ibm.mqetclient.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/providerutil.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/com.ibm.mqjms.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/ldap.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/jta.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/jndi.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/jms.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/connector.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/fscontext.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/com.ibm.mq.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib:/usr/mqm/java/bin
    3. When setting up Peoplesoft, add these jar files to the classpath setting in the setenv.sh file and reboot PIA
    2) Configure WMQ
    a. Edit JMSAdmin.config (located in /usr/mqm/java/bin)
ii. Set Initial Context Factory = com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    # The following line specifies which JNDI service provider is in use.
    # It currently indicates an LDAP service provider. If a different
    # service provider is used, this line should be commented out and the
    # appropriate one should be uncommented.
    #INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory
    INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    #INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.ibm.ejs.ns.jndi.CNInitialContextFactory
    iii. Set PROVIDER_URL=file:/usr/mqm/java
    # The following line specifies the URL of the service provider's initial context. It currently refers to an LDAP root context. Examples of a file system URL and WebSphere's JNDI namespace are also shown, commented out.
    #PROVIDER_URL=ldap://polaris/o=ibm,c=us
    PROVIDER_URL=file:/usr/mqm/java
    #PROVIDER_URL=iiop://localhost/
    b. Run JMSAdmin to setup queue and qcf to the MQ server
    i. def qcf(PLAS160_QCF) HOSTNAME(GSPLVP006-VM2) PORT(1414) CHANNEL(SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN) QMANAGER(QM_gsplvp006_vm2) TRANSPORT(CLIENT)
ii. NOTE: When connecting from a client to a remote server, it is important to specify the hostname, port and transport along with the other values.
    iii. def q(PLAS160_Q) queue(PLAS160_Q)
    1. Note: The q is a local naming alias, whereas the queue is the physical queue name on the MQ server
    iv. Screenshot:
    v. This creates a .bindings file
vi. NOTE: It is also possible to use IVTSetup for this, but JMSAdmin is recommended.
vii. NOTE: It is possible to gain a .bindings file from your MQ server administrator. Be sure that this format is correct, and the location on the client is referenced correctly.
viii. JMSAdmin can also be used to determin what connections are available from this machine using command dis ctx as shown
    b. Optional: Test the connection to the MQ server using IBM software.
NOTE: Testing the ivtQ and ivt QCF can be accomplished using the IVTRun program, provided that the ivtQ and ivtQCF have been setup in the .bindings file with the same available on the MQ server (some mq administrators do not enable this by default)
    i. Example IVTRun, see Appendix 1
ii. Example .bindings file see Appendix 2
    3) Configure PeopleSoft
    a. Create an external NODE representing the target JMS queue
    i. Example node, see appendix 3
    b. Setup the connectors properties for the new node
    i. Use the connector ID= JMSTARGET
ii. Example properties screenshot, see Appendix 4
    1. Notes
    a. JMSProvider is MQSeries
    b. JMSFactory, JMSQueue are those specified in the .bindings file representing that on the JMS server. In this case, PLAS160_QCF and PLAS160_Q are used for this example.
    c. JMSUrl is the location of the working .bindings file on the web server (in this case file:/D:/apps/IBM/WebSphereMQ/Java )
    c. Setup Gateway Properties
    i. Access the Gateway Properties using PIA and add the JMS information for MQSeries to the integrationgateway.properties file as shown:
    ## JMS configuration Section
    # <the following line is required>
    ig.jms.JMSProvider.JNDIFactory.MQSeries=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
ii. Queue information here is only needed if going to GET message using the JMSListeningConnector. Not needed for the target PUT (or ping)
iii. Example integrationgateway.properties, See appendix 5
    4) Test PUT connection from Peoplesoft to WMQ
    1. Ping the JMS node from the node definition
    b. Setup routings to PUT messages to the MQ node
    i. Example using USER_PROFILE
ii. Submit the message and check the Operations Monitor
iii. Verify that the message made it to MQ (this is viewed by browsing the queue on the Websphere MQ Explorer, message browser. A better utility is rfhutil which is included in the MQ windows client development kit)
NOTE: This document is intended for 1 way communication TO Mq from Peoplesoft. Setup for GET using the JMSListeningConnector is a separate topic for documentation.

    Appendix 2 .bindings file.
NOTE: The PLAS160_QCF and PLAS160_Q references are applicable to this example.

    # REQUIRED:
    # AS2 KeyStore Properties
    # Uncomment the following two lines to specify your key keystore path and password.
    # Use the PSCipher.bat utility to encrypt the keystore password.
    # example:

    # OPTIONAL:
    # AS2 Log Directory, logs all incoming and outgoing AS2 requests and responses.
    # Uncomment and specify the correct directory name to enable logging.
    # example:
    # ig.AS2.LogDirectory = c://temp//as2//logs
    ## End of AS2 Connector Properties
    ## AS2ListeningConnector Only Properties.
    # OPTIONAL:
    # AS2From and AS2To http header parameters are required on all incoming AS2 messages. These parameters must
    # map to PeopleSoft node definitions either directly or indirectly via AS2 From & To map specifications.
    # AS2 From & To Map
    # This map translates incoming AS2From and AS2To http header parameters into PeopleSoft node names.
    # This property is not required if your incoming messages use AS2From and AS2To parameters that match
    # existing PeopleSoft node definitions.
    # ig.AS2.AS2ListenerMap.From.<AS2From>= Specify the PSFT Source Node Name.
    # ig.AS2.AS2ListenerMap.To.<AS2To>= Specify the PSFT Target Node Name.
    # This example translate AS2From from AS2SENDER to PSFT_SRC_NODE, and AS2To from AS2RECEIVER to PSFT_TGT_NODE.
    # example:
    # ig.AS2.AS2ListenerMap.From.AS2SENDER=PSFT_SRC_NODE
    # ig.AS2.AS2ListenerMap.To.AS2RECEIVER=PSFT_TGT_NODE
    # AS2 Message name
    # Message name used to publish AS2 transactions.
    # Use this property if the incoming AS2 Message Name is not in the HTTP Header or the URL.
    # Replace <source> and <target> with either the incoming AS2From and AS2To http header parameters .
    # when those match existing PeopleSoft node definitions, or with the PeopleSoft nodes names specified in the
    # AS2 From & To map above.
    # ig.AS2.<source>.<target>.MessageName= Specify the Message Name
    # example:
    # ig.AS2.PSFT_SRC_NODE.PSFT_TGT_NODE.MessageName=AS2_ORDER_REQUEST
    # These Properties need to be set to use either the AS2TargetConnector or the AS2ListeningConnector
    # REQUIRED:
    # AS2 Certificates
    # CertificateAlias is the certificate of the AS2 Listening Node used to decrypt incoming messages.
    # SignerCertificateAlias is the certificate of the AS2From trading partner of Listening Node used to verify

  • What is the best way to extract/consume HR data to and from Peoplesoft?

I have to do integration between Peoplesoft and Oracle ERP to send HR data from Peoplesoft to Oracle HRMS. I will use Oracle Fusion Middleware for building the interface. I don't have much experience in working with Peoplesoft tools, like PeopleTool, App Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interface and Oracle adapter for Peoplesoft. Can somebody please let me know what is the most popular or recommended or best way to extract HR data from Peoplesoft.
The second interface will consume some HR data from Oracle. Once again I need to know different ways to insert data into Peoplesoft.
I appreciate if you can share your experience for the above two scenarios.

If you plan on buying a apple laptop you have two options. You can use time machine or pull the data off of it directly and put it onto the external. I advise the second choice. This way you do not have stuff that you dont need filling up the space on your new drive. Get your applications, music, documents, photos, videos and perhaps downloads and desktop; Put all of these on your external. And then reinstall osx onto your drive.
*** If buying a windows machine next check the format of the drive in disk utility. You will need a program called Paragon NTFS to format the drive window compatibility. You have to pay for the free version but can download a trail version for free.

  • Deploying the UPK recorded content in Peoplesoft Weblogic server.

    Hi,
I have  Peoplesoft UPK recoded content with me and also have document for configuring help menu with the UPK content.
It's appreciated If some one can help me in knowing steps (or) any documents for deploying the UPK recorded content in Peoplesoft Weblogic server.
Also I don't want to install PeopleBook in the weblogic server.
    Thanks
    Soundappan

There are two out of the box ways to enable UPK with PeopleSoft.
PeopleBooks > PeopleTools 8.52: PeopleTools Portal Technologies > Configuring UPK Topics as Related Content Services
PeopleBooks > PeopleTools 8.52: PeopleSoft Application Designer Developer's Guide > Configuring Embedded Help to Display UPK Content
    Hope this helps.

  • PeopleSoft Newbie questions,

Can one of the members please answer my 3 questions...and/or guide me in the right direction...
I have Zero PeopleSoft development experience but willing to put in the effort to learn the tools. My research leads me to believe that People Tools is the proprietary development environment in PeopleSoft and now Oracle-PeopleSoft offers this environment for download via the E-Delivery (Trial version/30 day. I am waiting for the export validation at this time).
    a) is this statement above accurate ?
    b) If yes, then what kind of hardware resources would i need?
    c) Apart from a database/web server, what other software would i need to complete the setup and learn the development tools ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You can find some beginning of answer on the following threads :
    About Peoplesoft admin
About Peoplesoft installation - step 0
    new to oracle apps
For Peoplesoft dev, you should learn at least about Application Designer (development tool), Data Mover Script (pseudo-sql language), but SQR and Crystal (reporting tools) are used, and since the lastest PeopleTools version, Java language is allowed.
The best place to learn would be Oracle training courses.
Note that PeopleTools is not only development env, PeopleTools involve Application Server and Process Scheduler (batches).
You can download the Peoplesoft application and Peopletools (as for all others Oracle product) on http://edelivery.oracle.com but I'm not aware of any restriction time of software usage. You should be up-to-date with your licences fees.

  • Peoplesoft FI SCM Installation

Hi I have downloaded people soft FI SCM and HRMS Version 8.49.
    I installed People Tools Succefully.
After that I have installed Applications CD.
but that installation have not created any database.
Before running the setup I have installed Crystal Reports and Web Logic.
Can anybody know where to found "create database scripts"
I also need to know installations steps.
I also installed people books, but I m unable to get help from it.
    Regards
    Pradeep

The PeopleSoft install documents are excellent with regards to these steps. If you don't already have one, you should definitely get it from -
    https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html#tab=KBHome%28page=KBHome&id=%28%29%29,%28page=KBNavigator&id=%28from=BOOKMARK&bmDocType=REFERENCE&bmDocDsrc=DOCUMENT&bmDocTitle=Enterprise%20PeopleTools%208.49%20Installation%20Guides&viewingMode=1143&bmDocID=703595.1%29%29
Also, you will need 3 separate peoplesoft installs (separate peopletools and application homes) for Fin, HR and SCM.

  • Problem with view Log/Trace

I have installed Peoplesoft 8.9 peopletools 8.49 and web logic 9.2 and tuxedo 9.1.
    I have installed everything succesfully.
I have configured the Process scheduler successfully.
In the reportnode(REP_NODE, the name i have given for the reporting node), i have set the URL as "http://localhost:8100/psreports/ps"( i don't know whether this is right or wrong. please let me know if that is wrong). and the URI Host as "SchedulerTransfer/ps" and URI port as 8100.
Now i went to the servers link and selected the PSNT and went to the distribution tab and i have given the report node as REP_NODE.
    Maximum Transfer Retries as 3
Interval for Transfer Attempt as 30 seconds
Transfer System Files to Report Repository is checked.
Now when run any process the the distribution status is going to "posted". but the files are getting transferred to C:\FSDMO but not to C:\psreports.
when i click on the "Details" in the process monitor the "View Log/Trace" link is enabled and i go inside. i see the log files for that process.
I have the Problem here. when i click that it NOT showing any data. that is my problem.
Please tell me how to get my log files opened in "View Log/Trace" link .
    Thank you,
    Bye.

Hi Nicolas, Thanks for you reply.
What did you define in the configuration.properties file of your webserver for the parameter ReportRepositoryPath ?The ReportRepositoryPath is "c:\psreports"
    http://img84.imageshack.us/my.php?image=configurationpropertieszm6.jpg
What is the URL of the link to the files (right click
on the link, then properties) ?http://localhost:8100/psreports/ps/4165/AE_PSXPARCHATTR_5391.stdout
"SchedulerTransfer/ps" is the URI resource. My bad, I gave "SchedulerTransfer/ps" under URI resource NOT in URI host. i just typed it wrong.
    http://img501.imageshack.us/my.php?image=reportnodevf6.jpg
Are you connected with a URL as
    http://localhost:8100/psp/ps/... ?
yes, i connect to peoplesoft this way.
if the image is not clear, just click on the image once.
Do we need to reboot app server/web server after we change something to the report node.(people tools -> process schedulet -> report nodes.
    Thank you,
    Bye.

  • How to save user input data in pages into database ?

    Dear Friends,
Hello. I am developing my first PeopleSoft application using PeopleTools 8.49 and SQL Sever 2005. In application designer, I have created fields, records, records' underlying tables in database, and pages. After users type in data into fields in a page, we need to click "submit" button in the page and save the data into Database. How to submit data into database ?
If we use JBuilder or Netbean instead of PeopleTools, we simply develope a server side script file like sth.jsp and link it to the "submit" button. The server side script file save data into Database. But in PeopleSoft application designer, I don't understand how to submit data in a page into database.
Can any friends help to solve this question ? Thanks.
    Lucy

    Hi:
Data will be saved in the database once you click on the 'Save' button on the page or if you use one of the 'Save' functions in PeopleCode (like DoSave(), DoSaveNow()). Generally, there is no need to write a script explicitly. Please refer to PeopleSoft Internet Architechture and PeopleCode peoplebooks (and other PeopleTools peoplebooks as well) for more reference.
You may want to attend PeopleTools training if you are fresh to PeopleSoft development.
    Regards,
    Sameer.

  • Performance Monitor Communications Errors

    Hi,
I'm setting up the Performance Monitor and I'm running into a couple of problems. I believe I set up both the monitoring and monitored systems correctly. Running Oracle 10g database and PeopleSoft 9.1/PeopleTools 8.5 on Windows Server 2008.
In the PSPPMSRV log on the monitoring system I get the following messages:
New PPMI URL. Starting Registration sequence
Collator registered with the Monitoring Server
Invalid PPMI session response received from Monitoring Server. Collator registering again (209, 57).
From the first message it would seem that things are registering correctly but then there is some communications break down.
In the PSAPPSRV log on the monitored system I get the following messages:
    (PerfMon Agent) Registered succesfully ID:1
    (PerfMon Agent) Registered succesfully ID:6
    (PerfMon Agent) Registered succesfully ID:3
(PerfMon Agent) Communication to Monitor Servlet failed. Ethier the Performance Monitor URL is invalid or the Performance Monitor Webserver is unavailable. Exception: java.io.IOException: Invalid response code from server: 404 monitor not activated.
Once again it seems like they are registering properly. I have entered the correct PerfMon URL and can ping it succesfully and the webserver is up. I was reading the PeopleBooks and it suggested setting the keep-alive value on the webserver to 660 or greater. I could only enter and max of ~360; the PIA service would not start up when the value was greater than 360. Does anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it?
    Thanks in advance...

    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15645_01/pt850pbr0/eng/psbooks/tpfm/book.htm?File=tpfm/htm/tpfm03.htm#_39c5bdcb_1257567a22c__7f77
Note. If you notice communication errors in the log files, even though the agents have registered successfully, check the keep-alive setting on the monitoring web server. The keep-alive timeout in the monitoring web server may need to be increased to 660 or higher to resolve these issues. After changing this setting, restart the web server.
I am using WebLogic 11g. Also, the maximum keep alive for http is 300 seconds while the maximum keep alive for https is 360 seconds.
Yeah I saw that document as well as the other document specific to 8.49+ (Doc ID 660971.1). I am producing the same log messages as described in the Doc 660971.1. I find it interesting that Doc 659371.1 recommends increasing Keep Alive while Doc 660971.1 says to turn it off.
Both documents say a solution is targeted for 8.50, but it seems that I am still producing the same errors. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?
